British Swim School offers swimming lessons for kids and adults, starting as early as 3 months. Located inside LA Fitness, we're open year-round and welcome both gym members and non-members. You can learn to swim when you’re ready and continue until you’ve mastered the skills. We use gentle teaching methods and a survival-first approach to help swimmers of all levels become safer and more confident in the water. Our safe, fun, and effective teaching methods have made us the preferred choice for parents and students for over 40 years. Our confidence-building curriculum and small group swimming classes provide a consistent format and structure with one-on-one attention for each swimmer. Private swimming lessons are subject to availability.

What started out as a location to do a makeup class ended with us making this my sons permanent class site. The team is friendly, professional, observant and have excellent teaching skills. My son is so confident in the water and utilizing the skills taught to him at the British School of Swim- South Loop location.

Pool is used by adults and the water is so cold for the babies. Kids had difficulty staying in the water for more than 5 minutes. We had to cancel our membership

LA Fitness has begun closing locations forcing more people into an already crowded gym with ridiculously limited operating hours. Why is a class for children held on from 4-8pm taking the pool at primetime rush hour times like this? The pool is overrun and loud and the much of the mess in the pool likely comes from this.
It's insufferable during the week but at least during the week it's possible to sneak a swim in afterwards because the gym is open until 11pm. On Sunday the gym closes ridiculously early at 8pm and the class takes up 4-8pm effectively closing the pool at 4pm. Why not have this class on Sunday mornings?

My family likes the class but thinks it might be short. It appears it should be a 45 mts class not 30 mts.

We love lessons here and the swim coaches, they genuinely enjoy teaching kids you can tell. It's also amazing to see progress in just 30 min a week.

We've really enjoyed our experience at British. Love the flexibility and the teachers have been great at getting to know our kids and teaching to their needs. Location is easy to access with in ramp parking.

I'm disappointed with this kids swimming program. The water is bit icy (compared to other swim classes i the area), and with student to teacher ratio of 6:1 it is difficult for anyone to progress; it seems that with each 30 min period they struggle to get everyone on the same page. Equally important are the makeshift changing facilities that are inadequate for children (flimsy pop up tents next to the pool, as students are not supposed to use the changing rooms so technically you cannot even use a hairdryer to dry their hair). I wish things would improve but until they do, my daughter will swim elsewhere.
