Great coaching and amazing place for kids to begin their journey into gymnastics. This is place that will help build your children's ability in the sport.

writing this review now that i’m older and able to tell what mental abuse looks like.
the coach’s i had were extremely mean to my teammates and i who weren’t as skilled as the others. they picked favorites id say based on skill level. i went to back handspring clinics and i was told i “didn’t have the potential like the other girls” and that i had to basically leave the class. the coaches paid all their attention to the girls that already had that said skill.
i ended up having to quit my dream of doing gymnastics because of how bad of a mental block i had obtained from what the coaches would say to me.

save yourself and take your child anywhere else but here if you’d like to see them succeed.

Update to say we now have both of our girls enrolled in gymnastics and they both LOVE it here. The class sizes are small and that allows for one on one interaction with the coaches, which I instantly see motivates my girls and it shows because they are advancing with the different skills.

Coach Sam & Coach Kristina are firm with their style of coaching, meaning they won't "baby" your child, if the child isn't performing well, they will be called out and corrected (aka, they are taught) - but they are also patient and encouraging and they celebrate when a goal is achieved.

The gym is in great shape, clean, and with nice equipment.

Based on our experience here since 2018, it's a gym I confidently recommend to others :)

Our experience at Corkscrew Gymnastics has been positive all around. The gym is in great shape and has a variety of equipment. We have worked with Coach Sam and I have only positive things to say; he is enthusiastic with the kids, patient when it is needed, as well as uplifting and praiseful when it is deserved. My daughter loves it here and we look forward to continue at Corkscrew!

We went to the tots open gym and the staff were very friendly and welcoming! There was a ton of stuff for my 15 month old to explore and Coach Sam was very helpful and gave us tips on how to utilize the equipment for his age range. They were even playing his favorite kid songs, which is always a plus. ☺️ Excited to go back!

I admire how Sam teaches and coaches,
He is strick and requires the girls to do what he is asking. My daughter looks up to him.
Great to see a coach who does not sugar coat things, keep up the great work coach

We love coach Sam and take the morning Saturday parent and tot class! The parents get a nice workout as do the kiddos! Sam’s patience is incredible as well as his skill set. My son and I enjoy it! Highly recommend!

In our experience, if the coaches do not like your child based on how they listen or the difficulty to teach. They will mark down the child not based of skill, but for not wanting to deal with them in the next level.

Coach Christina And Coach Sam add so amazing!! Thank you both for always believing in our Zoey. For pushing her just a tad further past her comfort zone for believing she could! Her father came last night to watch and was just so amazed at the growth of her! He tries to come once a month! Zoey has grown leaps and bounds with her skills strength and confidence! We truly cherish you both! Thank you♥️♥️ Amanda And Tony Garbis ( not sure why my dads account is coming up as name)

We've been going here for a few months now and have watch our daughter get better, stronger, and more determined in just this short amount of time. When she started she could bearly hang on the bars, couldn't do some of the stretches without help and had a horrible habit of beating herself up and saying she couldn't do it. Now she loves the bars (even coming home from school saying she is going farther and farther on the monkey bars there), does the stretches on her own in the livingroom without any prompting and her whole additude about trying new things in and out of gym has improved. Yeah the coaches can be "mean" sometimes to the girls but if you actually watch them, it's out of love and protection for them. Gymnastics is a dangerous sport and if you don't do it right you could seriously get hurt. The coaches are tough when they need to be to make sure the kids are safe and so very caring as well.

My 7 year old niece is in a class here. I came to watch her practice and they have a 10 or 11 year old coaching her. It really looked like little girls playing at a playground. I think my sister should demand her money back. It's not cheep and how are they paying their help with fidgets? So bottom line this place is very unprofessional and dangerous to boot. How is a 60 lbs girl going to spot anyone?

I have signed up my son for a gymnastic class through Park District, without letting me know and without my permission, Corkscrew have put my son in one of their regular classes that run longer then PD class therefore they walk him out before the class is done. How do I explain to 3 yo why he is being asked out and not being allowed to finish the class with other kids?
We have missed one class and I have asked to keep him till the end of class instead of having a make up class. I was told that he will not get any make up classes and there is no way he could stay longer because he was signed up through Park District. How frustrating and insensitive is that!
This was our first attempt at gymnastic and first time at Corkscrew, we are definitely not coming back to this place. I wouldn't recommend it . People who run this place are not very understanding and do not seem to care about their clients.
