Customer service is great. I pay $75 a month for my family and the hours on the weekend are VERY LIMITED on the weekends. Only reason I’m a member is because of the pool and basketball gym. Unfortunately half the time they have programs and the pool and basketball gym are closed to regular paying members. The Y is a great option if you are retired but not a working professional. Don’t just show up or you will be disappointed because more than likely the pool closes early or the BASKETBALL gym is being used for pickleball

A Girl Scout event at the YMCA Fun Day, it seems like the leaders and parents weren't keeping a close eye on the kids in the pool. Some parents sit on the other side of the window talking to each other while the leaders aren't paying attention. Then the volunteers on the side with lifeguards don't seem to care that a boy was throwing pool rings and some other hard toy at kids and at the wall. When he did this, one kid was hit in the face she started to cry. My daughter was about to jump in and she was hit in the stomach. No one told this kid to knock it off and their parents were nowhere to be found. All they cared about was kids jumping in backwards and life jackets. No one should have to deal with tagalongs or other Girl Scouts throwing stuff at people. It's ridiculous.

I enjoyed one of the previous responses that complained about the membership going up especially the last few yrs. Paying 40 would be a dream. Imagine being a family of one att my age I'm paying more than 50 a month. Although I wish I had a family to workout with I don't. The penalty for the family of one is paying the most per person. I am surprised someone hasn't filed suit about age discrimination. Also if I'm reading right a person who has a kid at age of 12 pays a cheaper per person rate until they turn 29 and their kid turns 17. Plus this yr the y took away two hrs on Sunday and one more hr at night. I feel terrible for all the members that had a late Sunday routine or from 9-10 at night. However the one benefit of those hrs is I don't have to listen to the arguments that are constantly coming from the gym. Also if you are there at night when the staff tries to close the gym, they can't. Their solution is just turning off the lights while the arguing and basketball continues in the dark. So next I'll be paying an even higher price when someone gets hurt playing in the dark after not being discipline enough to follow staffs directions.

Hi I am trying to receive any information that I can! My son had an incident at this location and someone stole his basketball out of his backpack!! While there was an argument and altercation the women who were on shift decided to tell my son They have nothing to do with it!! There were a total of 5 young men!! I proceeded to go to the Y and speak with the workers she told me her side and stated that she would email the Director!
The Executive director Jenna called me at 2pm right before she was about to leave out of the door! She said nothing was seen because that side of the gym was not in camera view she proceeded to yell and scream on the phone out of frustration of me asking about safety and the concern of citizens when they visit the location! She stated that I twisted her words and she would not listen to me at all!! She told me that I should have called the police and she has no indication that there was an incident although the email stated the incident from last night! This altercation started in the gym and proceeded in front of staff(women) and outside! Please if anyone can provide me with information about who I can speak to regarding thus situation! They should not feel unsafe and unheard in any environment! This is bigger than a basketball being stolen

I have been a Y member for 20+ years in multiple locations Nationwide. My first membership price was $17. For the last two and half years this price went from $29 to $40 that's around 30+% increment. There are members that only swim and use the sauna or steam room (like me). I don't understand why the pool and sauna (which BTW there is no steam room in this facility) has to close early, sometimes 2 hours earlier. Is quite frustrating that all the areas not follow the same operation hours. Hopefully someone will read this and do something about it.

We have been members of the Y off and on for many years. Sometimes it's busy and doesn't fit our schedule, but when it does, there is so much to offer! Downtown is clean, friendly staff, a variety of classes, a sauna, walking track, and a full range of equipment. My son loves the rock wall and pool and has started using the gym as well.

First time visiting this location. It was a nice family trip to the pool. Some of the lockers in the family locker room were older and partially rusted so they did not close completely and the pool seemed chillier than the O'Fallon Y. They do offer the standard orange toddler life vests and noodles plus some swim toys. All in all, it was a good Y visit.

It is the best exercise place of our area. In fact, this place is clean, the workers are chill, and the seats are comfortable. The most important thing is that there is free Wi-Fi. The exercise treadmills also provide television… sometimes. Anyways, this place is awesome for having a healthy body.

Not wearing a mask just to take it off and use equipment people sweat and breath all over. Mask required in the common areas because in all the other areas the mask doesn't matter ? The childcare here is amazing, they are so patient and kind with my teething baby and really make me feel like getting time to myself is important. There’s not much space to stretch out and do individual workouts, but they have lots of really good machines. Facility is clean and the rest of the staff is always smiling and greeting everybody with a smile and wishing you a great day as you leave, other branches out here don’t measure up to the downtown Belleville one.

I have been working out at the down town belleville YMCA for over two years now. When I first moved into the area I looked at all the gyms in the area. The only one that resonated with me was the Down Town Belleville Y. I loved the people who work there. They are always welcoming and helpful. The people who work out at the gym are friendly as well! The variety of people who work out there made it a good fit for me... it is an environment I feel anyone would feel comfortable in. People of all walks of life and fitness goals come to the Y.

One of my most memorable memories of the my YMCA family is when I was weeks away from donating a kidney to a dear friend of mine. Finances were an issue. I would be out of work for over a month. My mom and dad were coming up from California to take care of me. That also ment my mom and dad would be out of work as well. I spoke to Lenex about the issue and he helped me out. My family was able to use my membership and work out for that month at the YMCA with no extra charge to me. I love that my YMCA family supports me in times of need. When I was finally able to start exercising again it aas encouraging to hear "we missed you". Hearing those types of kind words helped me transition back to my routines and work on my recovery at the Y. Thank you Downtown Belleville YMCA!

I called the Dowtown Belleville YMCA to inquire if daily passes could be purchased, as I am an out-of-state visitor in the area for a few days. The lady that I spoke with was incredibly kind and informed me that I could use two passes at no charge. How awesome is that?! I went today for the step aerobics class and everyone I encountered--from Harriet at the front desk to the class instructor to the fellow class participants--was super-friendly and helpful. There was plenty of parking and the facility looked clean and well-maintained. Thanks, Downton Belleville YMCA for making my day! I will be back to try out another class with the second pass.

My children went here today with their Grandmother to go swimming. My teenage daughter was wearing jean shorts and a tube top that fully covered her from chest to her shorts (no cleavage or midriff showing). Your registration desk attendant felt that it was appropriate to stop them as they came in at the lobby and embarrass her about her outfit. Quote “This is the YMCA, you need to wear more clothes when you come in here.” She was still upset about it when I picked them up hours later. When did the YMCA start shaming children for showing their shoulders? I’m appalled that your staff is this rude and out of date with how to work with youth.

I've never been here, but good luck on contacting anyone or "leaving a message" all of the voice message boxes are full, and no matter which department you try to contact, it will send you through another loop. There was a man in there around 7-8pm on 10/19 having "diabetic seizures" he came into Balance Coffee & Tea afterwards, and after genuinely trying to help him, he stole our of tip jar and denied it profusely. I watched him on the camera and have footage. Watch out for this man. If you know of any of his personal details please inform the Belleville police and balance coffee and tea. I hate to give you guys a one star review, but this is the last place he was before committing the crime. Stay safe!

The staff are very friendly & helpful. I’m new to the Y and have been attending water aerobics class in the morning. My only complaint is I quit showering after class and weather permitting have been going home in my swim suit cover-up because the water is scalding hot & cannot be adjusted to be cooler. My 1st day I soaped up but couldn’t rinse off because I could not get it to a tolerable temp so I just go home to “dechlorinate” myself.

Pretty good facilities. They've upgraded a lot recently. Showers are often mildewy but they offer great classes, a good basketball court to shoot hoops and a good variety of cardio and weight machines in the gym. Child care is nice with friendly workers, though I wish they cleaned the toys more often. My little ones always get sick in there and winter is a trampoline of going a couple days then staying home a week worth sick kids. Builds up the immunities, right?

Their pool is so cloudy you can't see the wall when you lap swim. I brought it to managements attention and nothing was done. Should be interesting to see if the condition of the pool stays the same after the maintenance
