It's a nice gym but the GM here isn't helpful at all and overall, Equinox is always playing games with their rate increases with no notice, above market personal training rates and more. It's so frustrating.

I've been a member for three years now, the facilities are great and always clean. All the crew are always nice and great with members. I've never had any issues or found anything wrong with the facility. It's always in great shape and well maintained!

Equinox The Loop is hands down the best gym in the area. The facilities are top-tierβ€”everything is clean, modern, and well-maintained. I’ve tried a few classes here, and the instructors are seriously on point. The HIIT class was intense, but the vibe made it so much fun. They’ve got all the equipment you need, from free weights to cardio machines, plus they keep it nice and spacious. I signed up for the membership and ended up spending around $200/month, which I’d say is totally worth it for the quality and convenience. If you’re looking for a gym that’s got it all in downtown Chicago, this is your spot!

This gym is exactly what I was looking for. Clean, up to date equipment, plenty of space to workout and the steam room and saunas are amazing!

Shout out to Robert who went above and beyond for me!

Oh Equinox, you are closed on Sunday at this location. The space is cramped. There is no pool. Yet you still strive to extract $150/mo out of suckers? And your products are lame. This is like eating at Applebees in the Loop, as far as gyms go, but paying double Applebees prices. Even FFC a few blocks over has a rooftop pool, better hours, farrrrrrr better facility, at less money. You kinda need to do a scan of your competition Equinox and clean this up -- it is a disgrace to your brand, coming from California and Texas where the facilities are actually head above. Here in Chicago, compromise central. East Bank blows you away at same or lesser price.

Front desk friendliness 5/5
gym size 2/5
The sauna 5/5
Steam room 4/5
Crowdedness 5/5
gym views 3/5
parking 1/5
Locker room clean 5/5
Showers 1/5 , the water pressure is simple embarrassing.

I am a 8 years Equinox member from SF that has been to more of 10 equinox around the US. The reason why i decided to leave this to join their competitor was because the competitor has simply better everything for just a little bit more in the membership . But also the water pressure was a big turned off.

Hope this helps! .

The sign-up process was a bit annoying only because I showed up at 5:30 in the morning to be told I needed a certain person to give me access for a day pass. I feel like that could be streamlined. HOWEVER once May reached out to me to get everything set up, my experience was freaking awesome. She was super friendly and easy to work with and was able to answer every question I had on a call. I got a trial to test some classes and see what the gyms were like. It’s not too busy and the classes are a really good work out.

Great club. Checks all the boxes. Clean locker room, clean and always-organized workout areas, great Kiehl’s amenities, towels, etc. Even the patrons seem to be good about reracking weights (mind blown). Everything you’d expect from an Equinox. A bit on the small side…but still I’ve never seen it too crowded when visiting this club.

I have not been to other Equinox locations. But, this particular location seems to be nothing more than a over priced Planet Fitness. I found the front staff to be snobby and I found some of the clientele too upper class for me. The place was clean and I never had to wait for a machine. But, this place is not worth the price of membership. But, I will be back here again only because I have a membership. There is no other reason to go. My advice is not to become a member for this location. Maybe other locations are better?

Love it so far! The staff is really lovely, and your fellow patrons are super courteous. A gentleman was really chill about sharing the weight bench with me without being "too friendly", and a kind young lady was cognizant that her phone was taking up space on the mat without me having to say boo. I go during a really busy time too. The lady's locker room could use more counter and mirror space (that's the only bit than can get mildly Mad Max), but overall it's a nice gym experience .

Great location and great staff. Really cannot say better things. I normally use 3 equinox locations (highland park, 900 N Michigan and the Loop) but this is by far my favorite (assuming I am not swimming that day as they don't have a pool).

Only ding could be hours are not as good as the other locations with is to be expected given how the Loop dies on weekends and holidays.

Pros: Location is very convenient. The place is super clean, and the staff is always friendly. The machines are pretty modern and I have very rarely had to wait for cardio equipment. There are also plenty of free weights, so there is almost never a wait for those either. The spinning classes are better than average, but not the best I've ever attended. You can sign up for spinning bikes online, which is convenient. The locker room is relatively nice and has amazing hairdryers (Super Solano).

Cons: I absolutely hate their Equinox-branded shampoo, conditioner, and shower gel. HATE IT. It's so terrible that I have to bring my own products everyday instead. I also don't care for the classes. They are not very high intensity, and they are usually taught by overly bubbly instructors with bad 80's style aerobics music. The classes also get very crowded. Even if you arrive early to claim some space, you'll probably get pushed over into a tiny corner spot. My last complaint is that the weekend hours are limited. However, that is not all bad because you can use another Equinox when the Loop location is closed.

All in all, Equinox is somewhere between okay and good, but probably isn't worth the $120/mo that I paid (and that was with a company discount).

On a quick business trip to Chicago, I did not want to miss out on a workout. Thus, my good old friend Equinox is there to save the day. This particular location is right in the heart of the financial district, and is great for people to sneak in a workout after work. During my visit, I decided to stop on by around 4-5pm. Surprisingly, there was not a crowd, which is always a definite plus.

This location is pretty small in comparison to the other clubs in Chicago and across the country, but that's understandable considering the location. The first floor is dedicated to the juice/salad bar, front desk, and the little offices for the membership advisors. The second floor is where you'll find your locker rooms, weight/cardio area, and your dance/spinning studios. Right off the bat, I realized that although the workout area is small, the locker rooms are quite spacious. There are plenty of lockers and changing room to accommodate everyone, and there is also a sauna and steam room that some smaller Equinoxs do not have. On the downside, there are only about 8 shower stalls, so I can imagine that during peak hours, people will sometimes have to wait to use the shower.

For the weight room, there is pretty much all you need here that you'd find at any other club. When I was there, I did not have to wait for any machine, so the lack of extra machines was not an issue to me. There are plenty of cardio machines, and of course, they are right next to the amazing eucalyptus towels! On the downside, there aren't a whole lot of free weights, and I couldn't find any kettle balls when I was trying to get my workout in.

All in all, this is a great location if you work in the area, or just looking for a quick workout. I'd definitely check with your work if you can squeeze out a corporate discount with Equinox cause any saving is a good saving. Although this location is small, it isn't super crowded, and has just about 80% of all the things you'd find at a full fledged club. Equinox is Equinox, and in the end, there is nothing that will sway me to another club. I love Equinox!
