This is a great place. It's open 24 hours a day, so you never have to worry about the doors being closed. They have a huge variety of equipment, and probably have whatever it is that you are looking for. Exactly what I want in a gym.

Evolve fitness is a great gym owned and operated by great people! After my gym shut down without notice, Evolve turned out to be the best fit in the area for my fitness interests. The staff was welcoming and patient as I figured out membership options and answered any/all questions I had. The gym itself is very clean and well kept, with respectful members who take care of the equipment. Evolve has a great community of individuals, staff and members alike!

I only went in for a day to see the area. Lots and lots of space! If you do a lot of exercises that don't use a bench or machine you'll love the area. Although their prices are pretty high for the area, it's a good spot.

I've been a member of Evolve since October and in that time, I have always felt so welcomed. There's always a familiar face to greet me when I come in, even during non-staffed hours. Not only are the staff incredibly great and helpful, the people that workout at Evolve seem to be very close-knit. It keeps me motivated to keep going day in and day out. On top of that, the facility is always clean and it's never too busy to where I can't work on what I want to work on. If you're looking for an affordable gym in the DeKalb/Sycamore area, Evolve is the one to choose.

I LOVE this gym! I struggle with feeling comfortable at the gym, but I really do here! There is a lot of space in this facility, I never feel too close to another member that is working out. I also love that I can go to the gym whenever fits my schedule! The monthly cost in my opinion is very affordable for all that you have access too. Great place!

This place is as crooked as it comes. Was a member at fitworkz. When fitworkz says it was closing I assumed no need to cancel my membership. This place with no communication that they were taking that list has been charging me. When I called to simply get a refund for the 50 dollar charge. Was essentially told to kick rocks and they didn’t care if it was the middle of a pandemic with unemployment skyrocketing. Truly abysmal customer service.

On 01/02/2020 I purchased a $200 package that was supposed to guarantee me membership for 3 months. I tried to access the facility on 03/17/2020 and I was totally locked out -- my key fob was deactivated. I am supposed to have 15 more days left. This is the second time this has happened -- also last year before cancelling my membership. I would like to make note that you are charged for an extra month after making an inquiry about cancelling your membership. It's a shame because I really like the community but there is an apparent issue with record keeping, management and greed.

Update: I like the owner's response and appreciate his time to listen to my concerns. I did contact the 1-800 number both times I was rejected and they said it was deactivated. I will be coming in later tomorrow to see if this is true and can be fixed.

I have personally been a member for 13 years. The newest management has changed the gym and created a family environment. Being a small business is not easy, especially taking over and having to renew almost everything inside of the gym. I have the utmost respect for the Hopkins family for continuing the legacy from Wright Athletics.

The manager puts in so much time and effort into keeping this gym organized and truly cares for each member. The staff always greets everyone that walks in and I truly feel at home here.

This is the best gym in the DeKalb! By far, hands down. I’ve tried a few gyms and once I found this one, there’s no going anywhere else. It has so much more to offer that nearby gyms don’t. Whether you want to use cardio equipment, machines, squat racks, Olympic platforms, they have it all. They also are adding a smoothie bar which is legit. Can’t wait for that! 10/10 recommend this gym, and the new ownership is so awesome and friendly!

Horrible experience. Was placed in a two contract with an auto renew that carried over from the former gym. Price increased with an additional monthly service charge, so I went from $20 a month to $43 a month without agreeing to the new price and unable to opt-out of the contract. The gym staff does not handle cancellations and cannot assist you in the matter. Additionally, the new ownership seems unqualified to be running a business over heard them insult members for dropping equipment rather than make sure they were okay. Get a membership anywhere else.
