I have tried exercising to stay in shape many many times through my life. It was always the same story, the lack of results would lead to diminished motivation and I would quit. Every now and again I would meet people that would say that exercise was addictive. I didn’t believe any of them as I could not imagine someone would become upset because they had not worked out. This was until about a year ago. My obesity doctor had recommend Shaun as someone competent and knowledgeable.
Shaun has an awesome exercising program that focuses on building core strength as well as on creating exercises that will not only focus on typical muscles but as well as on muscles you didn’t even know existed. This leads to a dramatic increase in strength, endurance, and balance. I am 44 and I have never been in as much shape as I am now. I have never enjoyed working out as much as I do now. Interestingly, exercise is no longer geared towards looks, but it is really to make me feel better, more energetic, stronger, with better mobility and balance. Even with a newborn, I do everything to not miss a session. My wife will even say that I get upset if something happens that prevents me from going to the gym. It took my wife’s persistence for the previous 7 years before “I found time to exercise”. Needless to say that exercising has improved my quality of life. I can’t emphasize enough how important Shaun and JJ have been in my journey to get into shape. I am confident that I would not have ever gotten these results if it weren’t for them. I am always eager to find out what kind of “crazy clever” exercise Shaun has come up with for the next class. These are small group sessions that are just like one on one training. They are constantly correcting your form and explaining which muscles you are targeting and why. I could not be happier and more grateful. Not only Shaun is very competent, you can tell he clearly loves what he does and wants to make sure you get the most out of each workout. Last Thursday I ended up working until midnight and doing paperwork until 4 am. My session was 5:30a and I just could not wake up. I was pretty bummed that I had missed my workout. I was really happy to get an email from Shaun saying that they had missed me on Thursday and that he had 2 spots on Saturday, which I took promptly. The two amazing things in this story are: 1) Shaun’s commitment to my well-being 2) my desire to not miss a work out because I truly enjoy them (most people that know me would find Beth hard to believe that I would have ever become an exercise fan). Shaun and JJ thank you for all you have done for me! I truly appreciate it - more than you will ever know.

I’m so glad I found this place. This place is a dream come true for me. The attention of a personal trainer for small group session for functional mobility and for that affordable price. I’ve been consistently going twice a week for over a year and have never felt better. All my pains and aches are gone. Once I went on a trip, got a chair massage, followed by a deep tissue massage that made my back went into spasm and I couldn’t move. I thought I won’t be able to do any activity for 2 weeks but Shaun told me that he’d work with me and modify the movements that would help my pain. His modifications individualized to my needs at that time helped me and within two sessions, I was recovered. He’s extremely knowledgeable and patient. The workout environment is great. Shaun and JJ keep it light and fun. Try them out. You won’t be disappointed

The Strength and Longevity class at Fitness, Inc. is fantastic! It is a fun, intensive, and fast whole-body workout which gets my day off to a great start! It focuses on building our core body strength and balance while incorporating exercises to raise our heart rate and build our endurance and stamina. I'm 2 years into taking the morning boot camp classes and I really like them. The workouts force me to work my whole body and I'm dead tired after each one of these. Generally I feel much more balanced than I did before starting this program. A usual workout includes box jumps, running, TRX rows, different variations of bouncing weighted balls against the wall, and pushing weighted sleds. The work outs have good variation and I still see brand new excises every so often despite being 2 years into the workouts. Also, despite pushing myself to my absolute limit, I haven't hurt myself doing this.

Two + years ago, one of my doctors recommended I do weight training with Shaun. He said that it would help me improve every day skills, like strength and balance. And that's exactly what happened. Furthermore, Shaun has helped me recover from 2 different joint replacements. He is enormously encouraging.. It is a great pleasure to have tangible proof of my progress--that I can do exercises now that I couldn't do when I started. He does an amazing job of varying the exercises so that our sessions are never boring. He does a great job of adapting exercises for my painful arthritic joints. I have worked with Shaun for over three years and he never ceases to keep things interesting and challenging in my workouts. I have a prior back injury and a problem knee which he very knowledgeably modifies exercises to fit my needs, builds my strength and endurance, and keeps me injury free. Shaun also knows a great deal about nutrition and willingly offers tips or to look over your food logs to help you figure out problem areas. He keeps you motivated to work out and eat healthy, and has a great sense of humor that keeps you laughing while you sweat.

I have also worked out a great deal with Erica, another trainer at Fitness, Inc. She brings a great perspective on the female physique, is also very knowledgeable, and pushes you to work hard. Erica also trained my teenage son during his off season of baseball. We saw significant improvement in his core strength and endurance from his work with her and she will be a staple of his off season training from now on.

I've done Personal Training with Shaun since the summer of 2014. I originally went to him to get in shape for an upcoming research expedition in Antarctica! It is an oddly specific thing to need to train for, but Shaun seemed to know just what to do. By the time I left, I felt strong, prepared, and confident. I was in great shape to meet the unique physical demands of life on the ice.

I have NEVER been one to go to a gym or work out before, but I had such a good experience here that I decided to continue, even after my expedition ended. The Fitness, Inc. environment is relaxed and respectful. Shaun keeps things light and fun, but still pushes me to exceed my limits each time. I never get the same workout twice, so it keeps my muscles guessing and keeps me from getting bored.

As a lifetime runner, I have never managed to find any class or program which motivated me to want to improve my overall level of fitness until I tried Fitness, Inc.'s boot camp class. I was first introduced to Shaun at a trade show and the suggestion of attending a boot camp was of little interest. However when I realized how unfit and out of shape I was, I reconnected and thought I would give it a try.

My first experience was awful. In my first 10 minutes I realized I was out of shape and needed help. Shaun and his team came to the rescue and after several months, 50 pounds and many burpees, I can now comfortable go for a jog or workout without feeling exhausted.

I have no hesitation in recommending Shauns program. You get a different workout each session and Shaun and his team approach each workout with passion, energy and care. You will not regret giving it a try.

I've been going to the bootcamp class for a few months and it is a great workout--fun and challenging! Shaun is awesome...he is motivating but not "in your face" or too intense. Since September 2013, I've been a regular participant in the bootcamp offered at Fitness, Inc. This is the longest I have ever stuck with any fitness program in the past. I was a little intimidated by the phrase 'bootcamp' at the beginning but while it is challenging, and many of the class participants are at different fitness levels, Shaun makes sure you're working to your potential. The classes are fun and friendly with lots of encouragement from Shaun and everyone else in, or involved with, Fitness, Inc. There is a nice mix of routines each day with as much activity outside as possible when weather allows.
