This is truly the best place to learn how to dance!
Me and my fiance came over simply to get feedback on our first dance before our big day. They welcomed us and put so much heart into our dance, we are so grateful! We didn’t expect to receive such a personalized approach and dedication from this team. Eugene gave us amazing tips and corrected us when needed so we can feel more confident about our dance!
We learned waltz and we got a new hobby! Can’t wait to be back there for social dancing after our wedding!

As an empty nest couple, we were looking for a new hobby to fill our time and rekindle our connection. Joining the Fred Astaire Dance Studio has been one of the best decisions we’ve made!

I started lessons in March of this year (2024) with my husband and this studio is like visiting family every lesson.

The instructor’s are great, when I started I had zero dance background and I went from walking my steps to now being able to dance a Waltz smoothly and almost flawlessly and that’s a great achievement from day one.

I would recommend this studio to anyone looking to start dance or to continue your dance experience.

Everyone is kind and the Friday night dance parties are a great way meet new people and to use all the dances that you have learned and to learn new ones.

The South Barrington studio has incredible dance instructors who are VERY talented in their craft, while also being very skilled at teaching the art! This is what I love the most about the staff—they are genuinely kind and feel like good friends. My wife and I started here about 6 months ago. It has been a wonderful experience. Everyone is super friendly and the studio feels very welcoming. We have already been involved in the mini-match competition with other Fred Astaire Studios in the Chicagoland area which was super fun, as well their banquet hall dinner parties. Our instructor has been mainly Kaitlyn for most the beginning basics, and now Tyler has teamed up with her and has been more involved with us as well with sometimes having both of them during our lesson. They are both extremely patient and really make learning enjoyable and fun. These two lovely human beings complement each other extremely well. Whereas one instructor may teach you the a-b-c's and then the other will come in and teach you the 1-2-3's. It is very helpful to have 2 unique perspectives, yet have the same goal in mind. The Friday night individual performance practices are a fantastic way to get you in front of a crowd of your peers and get those jitters and miscues out of the way. It definitely prepares you for when you hit the dance floor during competitions or perhaps one day at a wedding or party and you have already been provided with the tools you need to get up and dance away. Practice nights also gets you dancing with other students including all the instructors as well as the owners of Eugene and Kimberly as well. I can't say enough about FADS South Barrington. We are very happy and super excited as we look forward on continuing our dancing journey.

We have been dancing at this studio for a year and a half. Our teachers Kaitlyn and Mark have been so patient with us. They uplift us and build our confidence in each new step we learn. They also challenge us to step out of our comfort zone and learn new things that we never thought we could. The Friday night Practice Parties give us the practice we need and the ability to dance with other people to build our skill level. We love the new owners Ķimberly and Eugene,Who are so full of energy and positivity. We highly recommend dance lessons at FADS South Barrington.

My fiancé and I had a wonderful experience here preparing a dance for our wedding. Our instructor Kaitlyn was so sweet and an amazing teacher. We went in with no experience and by the end of each lesson we felt confident and comfortable. We are now ready for the big day with Kaitlyn’s help. Not only was our instructor great, so was the staff. Everyone at the studio is so kind and welcoming. We were also able to learn some simple steps for different types of dance styles. If you want to create a wedding dance, this is the place to go! Don’t forget to checkout their dance parties they host every few weeks, they’re a blast!

Our dance instructor Mark at Fred Astaire was amazing!! We went there to choreograph our first dance for our wedding. We wanted a very specific dance with a mash up of four different songs and Mark took all our ideas and created the most perfect routine! Not only did we get our wedding dance out of it but we now know how to dance for any occasion! We love the team at Fred Astaire Dance Studio in South Barrington!❤️

Love this place!! I purchased an introductory special with friends from work and had a blast! The instructors were friendly and had us dancing right away. My husband bought classes for a couples Christmas gift and we had such a great time that we took more! Sarah and Mark are our instructors and they've done an amazing job teaching us the basics and now we're advancing on to "Bronze" which is a triumph in my book. The instructors are awesome! I can go into the studio in a bad mood, and within minutes I'm smiling. Everyone is so welcoming and friendly. I always have a good time when I'm there. Individual lessons are great for the one-on-one attention. Group classes are nice for review or learning something new, and spending time with other students. Friday night parties are fun because you can dance with other students and other instructors.

We met this studio at a free Summer dance series in Chicago. They taught ballroom dancing for an hour and were phenomenal. The instructors were very engaging and ensured everyone picked up the steps that they were teaching. Although it was a large group, my partner and I never felt that we got lost. They even did a finale where they encouraged us to video tape them so we knew the steps. They offered a free dance lesson at their studio. This lesson was one on one. It was a bit short but that’s expected since it was free. The instructor was very nice and knowledgeable. The inside of the studio was also very spacious. Ultimately we decided to not purchase dance lessons due to the cost. Great studio though and highly recommended based on the friendly staff.

After 2 years of treatments and surgeries for breast cancer I was depressed and looking for something to help me find some joy. I had always wanted to dance and decided to try a lesson at Fred Astaire South Barrington. It is without question one of the best decisions I have made in my life. I lost weight, aches and pains that I had from a rough couple of years in surgery, chemo & radiation faded away and I discovered life and joy beyond anything I ever expected. The staff is remarkable - helpful, friendly, and fun, they are approachable and help you feel comfortable from the very first time on the dance floor. I love these people - and the community and fun atmosphere make Fred Astaire one of my favorite places to be!!
