**This review is regarding the Teen Summer Camp only**.
I signed my son up for the Teen Summer Camp and paid $300 in deposits. He's 13 years old. One day was all it took to decide not to send him back. He felt bored throughout the day. They played games here and there but nothing engaging. I picked him up during swim time and found him sitting out. It was crowded and chaotic. A schedule was provided to the kids however, it appeared to be appropriate for younger children (6-7 year olds) and not teens. There was no communication or information pertaining to upcoming field trips given to parents.
I sent a 14-day written notice to withdraw my son and apparently it went to a dead email address. (Don't email the Hastingslake email address). After 48 hours, I emailed the director and got an apology and sorry it didn't work out. They could have reached out and offered a voucher or opportunity to sign up for another teen program, but nothing! They did not care at all! I wrote this review to offer our insight to other parents who might be curious to know what the Y has to offer. We were disappointed but life goes on!

Love the pool! And staff is always friendly and helpful. I just wish they would expand the building to make the workout area larger, maybe a second floor for cardio.. and add group ex studios in the main building. Current cabins they're held in are way too small and always smell like mildew and kitty litter.

The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. The pool is kept very clean, and the lifeguards are very attentive. The remodel of the fitness center and the locker rooms was done very well. I really enjoy the facility and the friendliness of the other members.

Very disappointed with the experience that me and my son had for the time we were inside waiting. Provided the lady in the front desk my information because I have a membership at a different state, was told she was needing to look at my account for access, after 40 minutes waiting, me and my son decided to leave. For future reference I recommend the staff at the front desk to be trained correctly so you don’t have people waiting around for simple access.

Alyssa is an amazing trainer. I feel privileged, the best trainer I came across. I fear one day some more expensive gyms might notice her and give her a hard to refuse offer and no longer have her here. She knows her trade like no other.

One of the nicest YMCAs we have been to and are now members of. The staff is super helpful and friendly. The facilities are clean and the pool is very nice.
The facility itself is really nice and set off of the main traffic area back in a wooded area so the scenery is nice. The membership pricing is super affordable for larger families.
The swim lessons have been great also, super affordable and my kids love being in the water during the winter!
Just an update to rave about the fabulous staff again. The front desk and all the people coordinating swim lessons are so helpful!

Judy and Kathy helped me sign up at the Hastings YMCA today. They were so very helpful. The center looks very clean and appears to be well staffed. I look forward to using the sparkling pool for laps and Tai Chi as well, Donna

It's small compared to other YMCA's I've been to, but the PEOPLE there make it a 5 star place. Incredible, kind staff all around! Our kids take swim lessons here and the pool is actually pretty great. Our instructor is the absolute best ever

Judy is very friendly n helpful , pool is nice but if your kid is autistic and has occasional meltdowns don’t come here for summer camp . I explained my son could possibly have meltdowns before I signed him up n I was told that it was understandable n they work with “all kids”.. they kicked my son out , didn’t send him home for the day . Just kicked him out and gave me dirty looks as I picked him up . Certain staff (summer staff )very judge mental .. “all children are NOT WELCOME” they are not trained to handle autism and should explain that before you waste your time instead of judging mothers with special needs kids .. autistic kids are not “bad kids” they have trouble expressing themselves and this is not an understanding or accepting place for any special needs child ..

Well hidden off gelden. Tucked back there is a green space with a handful of small cabins, small playground and an athletic center. The staff are nice. The economics are reasonable. If it is applicable to your lifestyle well worth a look.

It was raining but we wanted to practice swimming for my sons upcoming swim test. The pool is cheaper than our neighborhood pool. $20 FOR FAMILY OPEN SWIM. POOL was so clean, staff was super friendly, pool accessories were loaned to us. Hidden gem thinking about going back for membership and regret not signing my son up for summer camp there.

Hastings Lake YMCA is a very friendly place for all. We have good hours available to use our YMCA. The only change I would make would be to leave it open longer on Saturdays.

I like the the classes offered. Hastings Lake has a pool so the availability of a pool is a plus for me. The machines are quite new and there is variety. Right now we do not have many classes but the Manager is trying to hire someone.

I went there on a school trip in February of 1994 oh, I was twelve at the time. I remember quite a few of the staff that was that the time I was there especially one named daddy Outdoors he was a very funny guy and I had a great time that we even if it was during the winter and there was snow. I had a great bonding time with some of my classmates as well as the other school that was there.

Attended summer camp there in the 80’s excellent memories, good kids and great staff. I remember our camp counselor was a guy named John I think he was British, poor guy caught a branch in the eye on a hike the last day of camp.

Love the staff and the pool. At times there are general maintenance issues that would be addressed more quickly. Currently swim suit water extractor doesn't work. Despite that it is a positive place to go to reach your fitness goals.

The staff is wonderful, kind, caring, and dknowledgeable. The equipment and facilities are great. I have been a member for over 15 years. I have tried other "exercise" places but really like the Kastings Lake YMCA. The other members are fun.

In the 70s like around 72 and 75 I went to summer camp. I had a great time. My camp captain was a guy named Tim I think he ran a radio station I think his friend was chip. The arts guy had a tank with turtles. I later became a herpetologist because of this.. always wanted to go back as an adult. Lee Watson used to bring the horses out for us... fun memories best if my life

Went there as a kid in 1978 and had the best time of my young life. First time away from my parents and it made me appreciate them more after that experience. Plus it showed me how to take care of myself as a young man. The councilors and staff were cool. I'm 47 yrs. Old and I still can remember how much fun I had.
