Iron Lab gym is an amazing gym to be apart of. The community feel that the owners Ron and Yemi have built here is exceptional. The staff that they have brought in are one of a kind. The equipment that have you won’t find at any other gym. You can tell they truly thought about the culture and environment they wanted to bring into the gym. I haven’t meet a pair of gym owners that care so much for their members well being like they do.

Ron and Yemi are two remarkable people that are so approachable. The equipment they have at Iron Lab is so unique that if you have a question about how to use it you can go up them or the staff and ask for a demonstrations. I will say in the beginning I was intimidated about the gym and equipment, but that changed within the first month of working there.

The Semi-Private classes that they offer is a huge game changer in my fitness journey. I’ve lost weight, gain muscle and have been getting stronger. I highly recommend reaching out to Iron Lab and inquire about their Semi-Private training. I can reassure you that you won’t be disappointed in joining the gym. This is by far the best gym around and the people you meet are all great.

Been coming to Iron Lab Elgin for over a year and in the beginning, I’d give this gym a 5 star review. Now, I’m giving it 2 stars.
1. Music - The owners allow free access to choose what music plays throughout the gym, which was okay for a little bit, but people have become more disrespectful of people who have headphones. On some days I can’t listen to my own music because someone is blasting music. I have personally turned down the volume 3 different times in one night of working out.
2. Garbage/Cleanliness - I usually come early mornings to workout and the garbage cans are overflowing to the point where the lids won’t close and garbage lays on the floor. The bathrooms are foul. There’s only two bathrooms and typically 1 is only useable and the toilet paper is out consistently. Flies also practically live in the bathrooms. The water cooler near the door smells and looks like mold is growing from it. Lastly, no one re-racks their weights.
3. Door scanner - I have been locked out a handful of times due to this door scanner not working properly. This is very frustrating because not only does it prevent me from going in but it also does not provide security.
The only reason I’m giving it 2 stars and not one is the equipment. The equipment is very nice but I feel like putting in an environment that’s kept up is a waste. Ever since the owners began opening the Dekalb location, Elgin has gotten worse. I hope they open a location closer to the Chicagoland suburbs as nice as Dekalb so I can re-join.

Nice facility. Staff have been nice to me thus far only had 1 interaction. Gym goers keep to themselves, could be an intimidating spot if you're new and don't like loud music n such. But if want good equipment this is the place. Lots of machines a couple real nice cable machines, couple cages. Dumbbells up to weights I'll only dream of lol

It’s a nice gym modern equipment and nice location. Con’s- the owners play the music to Loud to the point you can hear it clearly even with your headphones on max volume which is crazy.

This gym reminds me of a good old times at Gold's Gym. Great atmosphere with amazing equipment that is updated it is ideal for my needs. If you are someone who is truly interested into solid and intense workouts this is the gym for you.
