First time at this location and it was good. Being a large chain place there is heavy traffic of course. An the fact that they have carpeting almost throughout is a little behind the times because it's nearly impossible to clean. But they have every machine you could imagine, as well as a pool, sona, racketball courts, as well as a basketball court.

Worst Gym! The gym is a great space but the staff is terrible. I constantly see salesman/ personal trainers flirting around with members, when they aren’t lying about their PT sessions. I personally, would suggest LA Fitness to go under new management at this location. Many employees should have been fired (Tyler Gordon, MYA V, etc)

Plenty of machines and for the most part everyone does the social distancing but they definitely don't enforce mask wearing too many people not wearing and management doesn't seem to care

Update: (4/9/21) usually when the manager Jasmine's there it's a bit better cuz she roams around and ask people to put on their mask it helps but most people don't listen Friday was terrible I would say about half of the people weren't wearing any she wasn't there so I'm guessing it's because of that but it's nowhere near where it should be even with manager present.

Covid precautions are over so it's back to normal it's gotten a lot better for cleanliness she is a really good every staff member is new so it seems like a regular gym it's good for us :-)

I like it. It’s huge. Machines always up and available. Staff is friendly. My only gripe is the instructors doing classes. Boy are they rude. I often use the giant room off to the side for my workouts. Halfway through she comes in. Sees people in there. Rolls her eyes. Stomps her feet. Blasts her music to push us out. Finally she comes up and asks when are we going to leave. LOL. I’m not. That’s when. So take a hike. I pay 99 a month for my elite membership. I can finish my workout. Buzz off hag

My husband's locker got broken into twice. He reported it both times to manager. Their advice was to keep his belongings on a hook by the pool so he can see them. He no longer feels safe or comfortable going to the Alsip location. If you do use the lockers, beware. Do not keep anything of value in there. I contacted corporate office and they were very nice and accommodated us accordingly. We are currently looking at new locations.

MAINTENANCE/UPKEEP IS HORRIBLE at LAF Alsip! The whirlpool was down for 9 MONTHS last yr. AFTER they reopened due to COVID! SAUNA IS ALWAYS BREAKING-JUST REPLACE IT! Maybe mgmt. is trying to save $$ by not having a working whirlpool :(

La fitness along with everyone else that submitted to the corrupt vaccine mandate should be sued due to violation of HIPPA laws. You cannot request someone's medical history just so that they can have access to the facility. I cancelled my membership because they were not on the right side of the good fight. I wouldn’t recommend anyone to fall for the “free personal training session,” the sales director is a dishonest salesman. The trainers are unprofessional trying to take you out and requesting extra money. The GM heard what the director told me and never bothered to correct him. The director told me he could lower my plan, but in reality he was waiting to get commission. They don’t care about your success, the only care about your money. If I could give a 0 star I would.

This gym is really gross, it’s super dirty and there are never any towels to clean machines either. I’ve been there to work out a few times and I’m probably not even in their system bc they just let me walk right past in to work out without question lol, didn’t even scan my day pass and I’ve gone 3 times. Dirty locker room tissue and trash everywhere, toilets and urinals not cleaned regularly, sticky floors. Cardio equipment outdated, weights not reracked. Gym floor gets filthy as well. Not sure if they are short on staff however there’s usually a maintenance person walking around cleaning at most LA Fitness Gyms, not here.

It's a nice facility. It has racquetball, a pool, basketball court, and gym equipment. There is a juice bar offering healthy choices. There is a daycare as well. I love the aquafit classes!

Por favor tengan mucho cuidado para que no les pase lo que me pasó a mi, cuando fui a pedir información me dijeron que no había contrato, solo pagaría mes a mes, que no necesitaba tarjeta de debito, pero al final cuando quise pagar el mes. No tenían cambio, y tuve que usar una tarjeta para hacer el pago, la sorpresa fue que ahí se guardó la información, ahora me hicieron un cobro sin mi autorización de 49.00 y dicen que que es un anual fee y para cancelar me debo esperar porque si hay un contrato de 6 meses, así que pónganse truchas para que no les pase lo que a mi yo ya estoy buscando otro gym, ahorita fui a cancelar, me habían cobrado un mes dos veces por error según ellos ahora dicen queme lo van a reembolsar, por favor vean sus estados de cuenta para queno les vaya a pasar lo mismo

I just joined this gym a week ago. Ive always been very self conscience about it but finally got the guts to just go for it. The lady in front was ok. But the guy who actually signed me up was awesome. Made me feel very welcomed and explained things i needed. I do utilize the kids room and no complaints at all the girls there are real sweet and my kids seem to like being there. Only negative i have is maybe they can do a better job of cleaning bathroom areas as last time i went it was out of paper towels and everytime i go the floors are pretty soaked. Understandable with the pool and stuff though. Overall thumbs up.

The basketball court is a heat hazard which is a disaster for airborne viruses. Management was informed on numerous occasions about the lack of ventilation and they still allowed a full gym of people.

I have to bring Pedialyte every time because of how much I sweat sitting on the side lines. This is totally unhygienic and a failure on Xsport part to service their members safely.

Not to mention the gym is mostly occupied by people of color yet the remainder of the gym is air conditioned and they failed to offer cold water when there was NO AC at all.

This was my first time returning to this location since the pandemic. It used to be the go to location when all of the neighboring locations fell short on cleanliness, professionalism or machine availability. I got there around 8:15am. I could smell the locker room before I turned the corner to walk into it. There were papertowels and masks all over the floors! What's worse, there was only 1 dispenser in the men's area that had papertowels! It was the worse I've ever seen in any LA Fitness! Most all of the gyms had to step up their sanitation game due to COVID which in all honesty should have been the norm. Now, it seems that this gym has laxed due to the ease of COVID restrictions. It's sad to see! Poor management is the only way to describe it!

My husband and I go to LA fitness every day early in the morning.
There has always been an issue with not enough of the free weights. But; since COVID hit last year;
Last March 2020 there are even less weights. Almost like,
someone came in in the middle of the night an outfitted their “ home gym.”

Being Female and not lifting as heavy as the males...
Do you know that there is ONLY ONE set of 15 lb weights ( actually 3 of the 15’s) , ONE SET of 20 lb weights, ONE SET of 25 lb weights ( none of the 25 lb weights are the same ... one has a collar , one doesn’t 🤷🏻‍♀️), and good luck trying to locate the 10 lb weights. And; it has been like this TOO LONG.
I already mentioned it to the manager.

Really ... this is a gym. I would expect there to be enough weights for all persons.
If you went to the bakery, you expect them to have birthday cakes, right.
It is a gym, where are the WEIGHTS?

This gym use to be my favorite LA Fitness location. However, I agree with several of the other reviews. Mask -wearing is NOT enforced. I reported to the club manager (a male) that I was concerned because so many were not wearing mask. Let me be clear…members not only were wearing their mask below the chin BUT also quite a number of them were NOT wearing a mask at all.

The manager didn’t care. His comment to me was that they can’t enforce the rule. Really???? Last I checked, Illinios still had a mask mandate. In addition, the majority of the members were NOT wiping the equipment before or after use.

If you have been vaccinated and want to experiment and see if you get COVID, then visit this LA Fitness in Alsip, Illinios!!!!!!

I'm Reading These Reviews and The People that are giving good reviews are either Delusional, Getting Paid to Post or has never been to a good LA Fitness before. The Equipment is Horrible, Looks Bad and Needs to be replaced. Just got membership in Oct 2020...so far so good. Gym always clean...people respectively showing social distance. Gym has personal disinfectant spray bottle for those like me..."can't take any changes" I clean everything I touch and wipe clean after finishing. The club in Alsip is NOT abiding by their own own mask policy. People are standing around, not social distancing, on the floors and in the locker room without masks. According to LAs new policy email, for IL clubs "everyone is required to wear face coverings over their mouths and noses upon entry, as well as when inside the gym when not exercising. Social distancing should be maintained at all times." This gym is completely out of compliance with its own rules. There are many people (staff and members) not excercising and not wearing a mask or distancing.

I want to take a moment out of my day to praise the women that keep the women’s locker room clean. I have been to A LOT of LA Fitnesses in the Chicago area and this is by far the cleanest. Every time I come in I see the cleaning women going above and beyond. I see her scrubbing the showers down almost every other day. She needs a raise!
