I want to make this public. Today, 07/13, the manager kicked me out of the gym because I came in with a day pass that LA Fitness legally provides. He told me that if I don’t live in Illinois, I’m not allowed to enter any gym or that I have to be from Illinois. I want to know where it says, when you sign up for the day pass, that I can’t use it if I’m not from Illinois. To me, this is nothing but pure racism, literally. LA Fitness, please explain this to me and tell that man that what he’s doing is garbage work.

I am going to this game since they have it open and take a different classes with order but this time I have a two class with a gentleman! Max for one hours each time it is amazing. I learn so much. I tried personal training at this gym with Ruby and she's the best! She is encouraging and pushes you to try your best in your workouts, while also being your best friend and listening to your personal matters. I learned so much from her in just a few weeks. Love this place.

Had to go to this location after Xsport closed, the men's infrared sauna might as well be a storage room as it has never been operational. It isn't only this location, went to Lombard this morning and same situation. Every time I have gone the front desk are on the phone and don't acknowledge you. I might as well scan a random QR code as who would even know... I love how corporate responds to all the positive comments but offers nothing on the negative ones. Get it fixed and get it together 👎🏼

I’m here on a travel assignment and decided to join a gym I could go to no matter where I go. Last night was my first time at this gym, I thought I could buy a locker and was informed that we were to buy locks. I proceeded to stay and workout, I switched bags this morning to find my wallet missing. Went back to the gym this morning to search for it, once I couldn’t find it I informed the lady at the front desk of what happened. The lady at the desk rudely informed me that “if you don’t have a lock I mean…” which is still no excuse to steal my things but all in all I get it. I simply told her to inform not to receive the obvious but I guess that’s the environment there. Will be trying another LA Fittness.

Gym sucks. Like many other reviews the sauna has been broken for at least 3 months now. Not once have a seen one person working on it to get it fixed. If it was Xsport they would have it fixed by the end of the week. This place sucks. Glad I gave Xsport my money up front so I don’t have to pay monthly for this crappy place. Once my membership expires I’ll no longer be coming here. All I ever see is employees sitting down on their phones, the hardest workers here are the cleaning ladies. Get it together.

The equipment selection at most LA fitness locations is poor, but this one is awful. As i stand here there is no curly bar at the cable machine, no ergonomic cable handles, only the cheap uncomfortable rope attachments, no hip thrust machine, no standing squat or calve press, no neck machine, every adjustable bench does not have an independent seat, and I could go on.

I was an xsport member when they suddenly bought it out, which was fine until they closed the gym they bought on Schmale permanently. now this gym is way too crowded and I can't get a workout in no matter the hour. Whoever decided to close the Schmale gym was not thinking at all.

Super bummed out that LA bought out XSport. The XSport I was at in carol stream was clean, professional staff, great working machines. We are now forced to go to this La fitness with half the working equipment, dirty locker areas, gross showers, and the dry sauna has been broken for months according to the staff here. It’s 10 degrees out and the sauna should be open, especially when the members are paying. I will be canceling my membership after being a member of XSport for over 5 years. Bring back XSport PLEASE !

It’s okay … it’s semi clean but I don’t like that they are missing many of the machines other locations have … no hip thrust machine the dry sauna isn’t working . They don’t have a lot of space to workout without being near someone else . Then you got older ladies naked in the sauna and going into the hot tub like that then in the locker room as well just walking around like full nude . The pool is small only does 4ft .

It's been 1 full year working out at this LA fitness and I must say the place is always clean. And the customer service the staff is great. When I 1st joined I had bad experience with a "mgr" by the name of Nico (scum of the earth) but Gianna was absolutely amazing to work with and resolve the issues that were going on at the time. Her professionalism and kindness and understanding are top tier and honesty others should take note. Honestly if it wasn't for Gianna's stellar customer service and making things right with the power she had. Who knows what could have happened with the future of LA Fitness. If you get a chance to interact with her at all you will understand what real professional customer service is like.

Place is good but the steam room and hot tub needs to be cleaned up. Steam room seems to always be down or not working right. Last three times I was there it was super hot. I like the hot steam but this was turning me red and me and the other guys there couldn’t handle it. The steam was none stop going. Normally it’s on for like 15 seconds to 30 but this time it was going for more than 30 minutes. I reported it to the front desk team and nothing was done. The next day it was the same issue. The hot tub was not looking dirty and hair was floating around. The place used to be clean but don’t know what’s going on lately.

Thu, Jan 25 both the men's sauna and steam room are down. One of the nicer locations I've been to. Locker rooms are clean and bright, infrared sauna is spacious compared to some older locations. Whirlpool spa in the men's locker room is nice. This location has a steam room as well!

The woman manager that is in charge of selling memberships was extremely sour. I have been to this location before under the guest pass that my friends membership allows. I wanted to work out under a free week pass since I am back from a school now. She didn’t let us do the week free pass simply because we have stepped foot in the establishment before, weve never even gotten a week pass before. Extremely rude and had absolutely zero proof that that was even a rule, we kept asking for proof in the fine print to which she kept coming up empty handed. Very poor service.

I tried to use a guest pass here to see if I even wanted to sign up. The girl at the front brought me to her desk and said "I have been instructed to not give you a guest pass because you've worked out here more than a few times with your boyfriend." My boyfriend doesn't even work out here and doesn't have any LA Fitness membership. My brother has worked out here and he has brought his girlfriend every time they're in town, but I have not worked out here ever. Hence why I wanted to use the guest pass that you can request online to see if I even like it here. I have requested a pass in the past and then never ended up trying the facility/activating the pass. Then she told me "I am conflicted because you're telling me you've never worked out here, but my boss is saying you have. I can just sign you up real quick for a membership." This is a great club. There are a large number of machines and free weights. I typically go at 6:30 am and rarely have to wait for a machine. The only times I have an issue is when one of the rare people who try to hold 3 machines at once gets in my way. They have a jacuzzi and saunas as well as a lap pool. The cost is right in the middle of lifetime $$$$ and the strip mall clubs $, but the level of stuff is closer to lifetime but the cost is much less. I think it's well worth the cost.

I continually experience, and others have experienced (and complain including myself numerous times) about the steam room in this club. Management does not seem concerned- at any level of the company- on placing a sign in English-Spanish (and whatever other ethnicities frequent this club) so that members (guys) understand how it works. It’s not the old rock saunas you throw cold water on the sensors. That shorts it out and ruins it for everyone- including myself. The GM said it’s an Operations issue. I asked is part of your compensation based on membership? No answer as I’m sure it is. I’ve stopped going to this club and now go to el sporta in Lombard. Same company- same club-different market and name. One thing that is not the same is THEIR STEAM ROOM WORKS. My guess is better management.

If someone is working out, it's fine, but if they're on the phone, they'll say they have four more sets and so many things. But I am no longer a member of this gym.

I want to exercise in a clean environment and LA fitness is clean. Staff is available and I hear classes are included in my membership price. Recommended
