Used to come here a while ago and it was always way too packed and all the equipment was always too busy. Now the crowd is less than before so it actually allows you to maximize your time. Hopefully it stays like this with a medium crowd. I do get here after 8 so I'm not sure how it is before that.

Unfortunate to hear that LA Fitness bought out Xsport. Xsport was more affordable than LA and that’s why I left LA in Carol Stream years ago. So now I have to pay over double the price for the same amenities, equipment, etc? I’ll have to reassess when the new billing cycle starts.

I used to come here all the time to play basketball and now suddenly the workers have changed and apparently i can’t hoop anymore. I canceled my membership as soon as I found out and guess what they charged me a 10$ cancellation fee and I can’t complete the month. They just want your money now, would recommend planet fitness at this point. I was paying 15$ and if I wanted to upgrade to hoop i’d have to pay 30$. Increasing the price for what exactly?

Giving it a 3 star because it's 24 hours but that's it. Recommendation: It's better to close the gym for a few hours, ex. from 2 a.m. to 5 a.m., for a deep clean and quality control (check faulty equipment, especially amenities, and which machines get the most use and add more and remove those that don't get used).

I love attending the Friday night COMMIT FITNESS classes with instructor, Joane Acosta. Joane is Fun, Energetic, very creative and professional always. We have Themed workouts while dancing with structured moves to amazing sassy Playlists. Its a WHOLE VIBE. Joane does challenge us to " level up" in class but is also aware of all fitness levels and always shows the modified version of the exercises so everyone achieves the maximum benefit. I always burn at least 700 calories each class. I look forward to my weekly classes with Joane, it is definitely the highlight of my week. I'mHOOKED !!

this review is mainly regarding a fitness instructor that i have had to chance to work with ! Joane does fitness classes at Xsport Carol Stream and has completely brought the love i have for exercising back in my life. The classes she teach have become my favorite part of the week. She is SO passionate about what she teaches, she’s got so much contagious energy and she CARES deeply for the men and women that go to her classes. Fitness is a large part of her life and it is clear she has spent a long time learning the ins and out of cultivating the most effective workouts possible, while also ensuring an incredible atmosphere. XSPORT is extremely lucky to have her as an instructor and i am so happy that i have found her classes!

Without a doubt, this gym stands out as one of the best in my area. The cleanliness and maintenance are top-notch, creating a fantastic environment. The equipment selection is vast, ensuring a fulfilling workout experience. The staff members are exceptional, always attentive to both your needs and those of your child, if you have one. The gym offers a range of amenities, including a dedicated kids' room, spa facilities, a basketball court, HIT and Boxing rooms, steam and sauna rooms, a pool, and a hot tub.

While there are a few drawbacks, like members not cleaning up after themselves, a common issue in most gyms, I wish more people showed the same care for the employees as they do for fellow gym-goers. Additionally, the steam and sauna rooms are open to everyone, regardless of gender, and there's room for improvement, such as adding a Swimsuit Water Extractor.

Despite these minor issues, the gym's overall offerings earn it a solid 8.6/10 rating, making it a standout choice among Xsport Gyms. I highly recommend it for a holistic fitness experience.

I have been to many gyms around the 30 mile radius. This has to be the cleanest gym I’ve been to by far. Every time I’m there at night I see Arthuro vacuuming the whole gym and it looks great! He works hard as I see him always sweating and getting around all the equipment. Thank you for your hard work Arthuro!!

As a member I wanted to say that you should be able to help out members on the phone, I called and asked to downgrade my membership but instead they asked me to come in. Other gyms help you out with such things, but they conveniently said you have to come in for this. In order to retain customers, helping out customers with convenience is pivotal

This Xsport is an amazing place for working out. Has some of the best machines for lifting. On the downside, 3/4ths of the water fountains have been broken for months and still not fixed. They raised our prices up $5 a month out of nowhere with no warning.

Love this gym! I mostly go around 9am or 10am. It’s never too crowded. The facilities are nice, and there are a good amount of weight and machine options. The only reason I don’t give it 5 stars is because the childcare is unreliable. They’ve had to close at least 3 times this month due to staffing issues.

Rude. Employee accused me of stealing their foam roller. I have my own that is the same color but a different size and right as I walked in, he accused me of stealing the gym's foam roller. Foam rollers from Amazon only come in like 3 different colors. Maybe next time they're suspicious of theft, they should check their cameras for proof next time rather than straight up harass their customers

Don't go around midnight. The cleaning guy expects you to not use the bathrooms or go in for the whole 30 minutes of cleaning. He told me to wait until he was done cleaning to grab my stuff and go home.

This sports facility may be petite, but it experiences high activity levels after 6 am and again after 5 pm. Unfortunately, there is a scarcity of barbell clips available for use. Moreover, the maintenance of the place seems to have been neglected within just a few months of its opening. The benches are positioned so closely together that it raises concerns about potential accidents. Additionally, there is a shortage of safety clips, which compounds the safety issues.

No water refill stations only cheap water fountains that don't work. Always insanely busy which makes the 3 squat racks never available. Over half the lockers with built in locks aren't working, sometimes the hot tub doesn't work, machines constantly breaking. Awesome gym. If you want to spend $4000 for a gym then go to lifetime. Xsport especially Carol Stream is a great gym for the money. If you go to Planet fitness spend the same amount but no sauna and no steam rooms and definitely no pools or basketball courts. People come on here to hate and complain. Those people need to grow up and realize how spoiled you are. You can't beat Xsport. It's a bargain and a half. I've visited 5 locations over the past 2 years and some are better and some are worse, but overall it can't be beat.

Overall it's a gym, but a nice one. I go as a guest with a main member. Price was pretty good for this person but they got it before the gym opened. There is a pool, sauna, steam room, basketball court, and a couple of rooms for classes. Gym floor is huge with all new equipment, but I am noticing some of them are already in need of repair, the stairmasters for one. The staff are nice. But as far as a gym, to me it's just that, a gym.....but a nice one!

Update: Been going a bit to this one still as a guest. Still a gym, but I am noticing that the lockers by the treadmills more than half of them just don't work. Also the water fountains are already in bad shape for like weeks. But the workout equipment seems to be holding up.

This gym opened last October and their water fountains haven't been working right since probably November. I go in the late evening. They are busier than expected. Too many young kids wasting space hanging out. Workout or move along. Scroll on your phone somewhere else and let others get a workout.
If you are looking to pay for the premium plan for this gym, hold off. Tanning still hasn't finished installation and the 1 massage chair started a couple weeks ago. Did I mention they've been open for like 7 months? Capital fitness doesn't manage their gyms very well. The Lombard gym was better than this one, but they closed that one. Im a PIF til 2025. I can say that's when this membership will expire. I dont expect much more than a 'Thanks' and a 'We'll improve." response. Actions speak louder, folks.

This location is a smaller xsport but it's nice. It reminds me of the Lombard location but bigger, not sure what the business decision was to close the Lombard location was but it's disappointing. This location is clean and new. It's busier at night but they do have unique equipment which is great such as; vertical leg press and a pendulum squat machine. They could use more dumbbells or another cable rack for when it's busy, they have the space for it.

It’s nice but the guys installing your equipment are terrible. 1/4” tapcons with thin fender washers, most of the anchor points are not even used.

Been about 3 weeks since my last review and pretty much nothings been done and I’ve found even more equipment not put together or even bolted down like the squat racks. It’s pretty bad that a big corporation like xsport can’t find a couple guys to come address all these issues. Me and my guy could take care of it in a day yet it’s been weeks and nothings been done.

Well now the water fountains are pretty much all broken and have been for awhile. Today while filling up my bottle my finger slipped between the button and the frame of the machine because it’s been pushed in so badly. Think I’m going to lose this finger nail.

I gotta say, this is the worst maintained xsport I’ve used. Brickyard was never this bad. Handles are falling apart and the maintenance guy was just here… looks like he was trained by bob the builder the way he was installing anchors. 🤦🏻‍♂️ if I didn’t have a pif I would have cancelled by now and went back to La fitness, they take much better care of their equipment.

And fyi xsport staff, if you want help ask your managers and I will gladly point out everything that’s broken and you guys have never fixed. Your staff knows me, just ask. Eventually someone’s going to get hurt because of your consistent negligence.

I joined before they opened. Overall, I'm pretty happy.

Pros: 1.) the price is very good; 2.) it's a new place so it's pretty clean and not many machines broken; 3.) good selection of machines and it's not too too crowded (although sometimes it gets up there).

Cons: 1.) Usually there will be 2-3 bored-looking employees at the front desk. Sometimes you can make eye contact with them and they will be friendly. Other times (65% of the time) you cannot make eye contact with them because they are talking with each other or are on their phones (they are rarely occupied with work, it seems). 2.) There is a lack of attention to detail overall. Some examples: a.) Ever since the place opened, the drinking fountains between the cardio machines and the locker rooms have had almost zero water pressure. You can't even use them. But there are no indications of anyone caring or fixing this issue. b.) I know that it is the bane of many gyms that some patrons leave things in disarray, but part of the deal of working at a gym is having to clean things up. Frequently there is disarray (e.g., weights strewn around, small barbells standing on end where people walk, that could tip over and hurt people), and meanwhile, 3 bored employees are sitting at the front desk chatting with each other and looking at their phones. Not a great look. c.) There is a lack of urgency in fixing machines. Fortunately, this is not yet an issue since the place is new, but it is not a good sign. For example, the squat machine that faces the cardio machines has been "Out of Order" for 4-5 weeks. There is no indication that anything is being done about this. d.) The small lockers behind the cardio machines, where you set your own combination, are really cheap. Half of them don't work (e.g., you can't set your own lock and lock the locker), which is a bummer since the place is new. Again, though, there does not seem like anyone cares about fixing it.

Overall, the place is quite serviceable, and the newness is helpful. I feel sorry for the staff, though, as I'm guessing the pay is quite low. It shows through visible lack of engagement.

Basam the assistant manager was very helpful and knowledgeable. Not pushy, which I deeply appreciate. Yet, he left us with a sense of urgency to take advantage of the current promotions. The gym itself is new and so all the amenities are gorgeous and there are new features I look forward to trying. They are adding a self-spa and childcare area as well! They have none of the self-spa things they mentioned, so false advertising definitely takes stars off. They arent 24/7 on Christmas eve or other holidays, which is also false advertisement. I dont care if its Christmas, they routinely operate the gym at night without staff, they can do it on holidays when people wanna work out before going out or after. The pool area is great but has no dryer, and if theres no basic dryer like every other gym, they shouldn't have opened with all this incomplete bull. The modernized equipment is very nice though.

I have yet to give a decent review to any xsport because they're all in disrepair, routinely do false advertisement especially in this gym, and it is always so disgusting. I regret buying the premium membership considering the self spa never works at any xsport.

I was wearing my shoes in the sauna because of medical reasons and she came up to the sauna room and said “shoes off” I said I have medical reasons for this, she didn’t pay attention to this and rolled her eyes when I said you could’ve been a little polite she again ignored it. Wouldn’t visit this location again and my membership expires next month I won’t be renewing it with XSport. Extremely disappointed with what I had to go through.

Went on Saturday to see how the place was on opening day, and I was impressed! Vast amounts of machines for isolation exercises or compound exercises. There is a three lane pool, with the sauna and steam room with the same area. The basketball court is nice, but I was hoping for more hoops on the side of the court as it's one full court room. Otherwise, friendly staff and trainers there to help you start or continue your journey exercising.
