There are pros and cons to this place. the pros are they have a variety of machines and options, they have the sauna, pool, hot tub and steam room, showers, the cons are they no longer have the tanning area, they no longer have towels to give you, don’t have massage chairs, don’t have protein bar, they removed all the best parts of the gym when LA came in.

No one reracks their weights. No one wipes down their equipment, especially the girls with tight shorts on; be careful ladies this place will give you a diseases 😂. Managment just sits in the front all day, doesn’t walk around and make sure attachments and weights are in their correct place. If a machine is broken, let’s maybe put a sign on it that it’s broken. If I had to pay any more than the ~$15 that I do, I would cancel. This is my last resort location third to my other gym and exercising outside. Equipment is broken, locker rooms are not well kept.... There were multiple toilets in the women's room that were closed off for over a year (foul odor). The hot water is out, again. The hand weights in the studio are either gone or locked up. And the one time I broke down and showered here out of necessity, I got ringworm. NEVER. AGAIN. When LA took over, I had high hopes but nothing really changed. This is a bigger issue than just internal staff. Whoever is running the show overall does not care about this location. I stay for the convenience but if prices go up, then I am throwing in the towel here.

I’ve been a member at this LA Fitness for a while now, and unfortunately, the overall experience continues to decline. One of the biggest ongoing issues is the lack of hot water. It’s not a temporary problem — the hot water has been out for weeks, and this seems to be a recurring issue at this location. After workouts, especially early mornings or late nights, members are forced to take ice-cold showers, which is both uncomfortable and unacceptable for a facility we pay a membership fee to use.

Equally concerning is the condition of the restroom and locker room areas. Toilets are often unsanitary, with paper products scattered on the floors and trash cans overflowing. It’s clear that regular cleaning and maintenance aren’t happening the way they should in a gym environment where cleanliness should be a priority for health and hygiene reasons.

It’s disappointing because the gym itself has decent equipment and space, but the lack of basic amenities like hot water and clean restroom areas seriously impacts the overall experience. Members deserve better upkeep and communication when issues like this arise and linger for extended periods of time.

Unless these problems are addressed soon, I’ll likely be looking for a new gym. I hope management takes these concerns seriously.

Management please read this review! I got bug bites in one of the personal training rooms! The personal training rooms are so filthy! There is trash, dirt, dust, etc. all over the floor. It is so dusty in those rooms. As someone with an allergy to dust, it is brutal working out in those rooms. It is hard to breathe in those rooms, especially when working out. When I am on the mats, dirt gets all over me. They are filthy. Today was the last straw that made me write this review because I got bug bites all over my arms and legs while working out in one of those filthy training rooms. I noticed the bites appearing on me more and more as I was working out. For what I am paying for my membership and personal training sessions, the rooms should be clean! This is the filthiest place I have ever been in. I have never seen any one cleaning in this gym. It does not take long to sweep and dust. Management please step up and do better! For what I am paying, it is not worth working out in this filth. I feel so disgusted when I leave the gym. My personal trainer is great!

The worst Xsport I have ever been to. Staff member Seth refused to get up and unlock door for the sauna and lord to me telling me someone was in there I waited 45 mins still he wouldn’t assist me and his attitude was terrible. The massage table always has an issue won’t run more than ten minutes without a mail function. I would suggest goin to any other Xsport than this one! I’d rather travel to another location much farther away than go right up the street. For the money I spend I should be able to use the amenities and receive good customer service. I set up Autopay with XSport at Melrose Park and had been paying $32.95 monthly. All of a sudden, without any notice, it was increased to $35.95! How come? Is it legal to increase monthly payment without prior notice? Or is it just a mistake? Anybody knows?
Some updates: #1. The same thing happened again. The monthly premium was increased again several months later to $39.95 without notice. #2 issue is that the facility has been super crowded most of the time every single day. Can you imagine several hundred people working out together in a relatively small space, shoulder by shoulder and face to face with each other? Obviously it’s a Happy Land for contagious diseases such as Covid, flu, pneumonia etc. #3 issue is that they barely check the paperrolls and sanitizing fluid resulting in empty bottles and no paper towels frequently. #4 issue is its crazy and greedy financial policy. I cancelled my membership but shockingly I was charged $10 fees for cancellation processing. What’s wrong with you, XSport?
So you do need to think twice before signing up with XSport in terms of its financial policy, overcrowding environment, lacking of essential services, and risks of getting respiratory infection diseases.

Definitely going back to UFC GYM!! I used to think they were too expensive but it's worth it! I did an hour stair master today and watched a short Italian looking guy with a mustache and beanie place a sheet in the women's restroom saying it was cleaned and no one went in there the whole hour I was on the stair master visibly watching who went into the women's bathroom. Place is ALWAYS dirty, always busy, no one ever re racks their weights, crowd has NO gym etiquette whatsoever. Waste of money every month. Will be cancelling Monday. The cardio equipment is ALWAYS out of order. Treadmills shut off in the middle of your run, some are slightly off balance which can injure a runner, and others simply don’t work. Only 1 of the 5 elliptical works properly. The others grind when you use them. The women’s locker room and restrooms are filthy and broken. Sometimes the hot water doesn’t work in the showers. The water fountain also doesn’t work and when it is functioning, it’s dirty. I’ve reported all these issues to the front desk and nothing is done about it. I will take pictures for a follow up review if nothing is fixed.

It's getting out of hand. Nothing works and they don't do maintenance or follow up. Since January there has been a problem with the water. Everyday they have the since posted that no hot water is available. Equipment not working, place it's dirty, they never had the towels and cleaning product to clean equipment after use. Since I started going to the gym on April of 2023 one of the vanity table has been broken and they have not replaced it. It's ridiculous that we keep paying and we are not getting the services we deserve. Sauna does not work, steam works once in a while. At this lint we are better just going to Planet fitness at least the equipment works. They really need to come up with a solution or we ned tos test moving to a different gym brand that would take care of their facilities and us as clients. They only said feel free to use other of or facilities, but if you are going to that particular facility it's because that's what it's convenient to you.

I came here once as a guest with my friend. I didn’t enjoy my experience. It was early in the morning and I couldn't believe how crowded it was at that time. I would think that it would be slower since people should be at work. Every part of the gym was a joke. Most of the weights on the dumbbell racks were missing. Plates were missing on the barbell racks. Dumbbells lying everywhere on the floor. I would not recommend coming here if you’re looking for a new place to work out. It’ll be difficult trying to get your whole routine done. I would suggest finding a local gym that isn’t busy but at least you won’t have to smell so much B.O.

I have been very patient with this gym.Unfortunately I have decided to cancel my membership. There are just too many bad issues with this gym. Something is always broken! Last night was the worst. No hot water for showers.The sauna wasn't working.The hydromassage chairs weren't working. The jacuzzi water was warm. The Hand cycle was missing one handle. The worst was the steam room. The temperature gage was off and the steam was abnormally too hot. I guess this gym is really lacking management. All year long Something is always not working. Just shut it down. Their yoga class is the worst. I hate to bash a place but, something needs to be done. They have the dirtiest floors for their house it’s studio. Their instructor could figure out the Bluetooth, so their was only hard core punk rock music blasting from the main area. This is for the Melrose Park location only. Unfortunately, when I visited to get my tour, I was there at a slow time, Sunday afternoon. It was busy but not crowded. Also, I didn't pay attention to details. When I went back on Tuesday evening, the place was full of people. Had to wait too long for the equipment to get an effective workout. So I left. On my next visit on Saturday morning, it was not as crowded, but I found several broken machines (loose hinge points). Many of the lockers and bathroom fixtures are damaged and unusable. I should have canceled my membership within the 30-day window. Not likely to renew.

I joined this xsport location a week ago and cancelled my membership today because of the existing conditions this gym offers. I was so disappointed with my 1 week experience. So many broken equipments, missing dumbbells or otherwise all over the place, dirty locker room and restroom. Imagine wasting more time waiting to use a pair of dumbbells or a machine, because this place is so overcrowded, than actually working out!

This gym has completely gone to s***
I loved it here before at one point
But the amount of issues that happen here are just not acceptable here is the list.

1. Currently as of 7/18/23 there is no AC. They have a few portable ones but they do nothing. It feels like a sauna with must in this gym.

2. A lot of broken machines that take weeks if not months to get fixed.

3. Workers are never around when you need help. They are always on their phones or distracted talking/flirting with guest (most of the male workers)

4. Handicap parking is not enforced whatsoever. I had to call the cops myself because people think it’s ok to park there without a handicap permit.

5. The restrooms are FILTHY. They are never cleaned and toilet paper is usually out, soap and paper towels are always low.

There are many more issues that I experience here. Unfortunately I will be terminating my membership as sad as I am for how close to home it is. I will not support an establishment that charges me $50 a month and doesn’t have it together. Xsport Melrose park DO BETTER!!

Nothing ever works yet they charge you 57 for a maintenance fee there is a 10 dollar fee to cancel but you have to go see a manager to cancel so many inconvenience but they want to just charge you for service not rendered this place is the worst will never ever go here again don't waste your money on this place it sticks very dirty

Terrible customer service. The staff was extremely rude. Won’t provide proper regulations of benefits that are included with your membership and then make up excuses so you won’t be able to utilize them. Never sufficient equipment. The gym is always overcrowded. They do not have sufficient equipment or it’s not working or it’s old and looks torn down. They do not have proper AC only one fan in the middle of the gym. The pool is always out of service because of power outages. Just a terrible gym. Don’t recommend it. It also seems like they never clean anything.

I got a membership mostly so I can swim. I usually swim 2 or 3 times a week for about an hour every time. Everything was fine until this spring when they started closing the pool for weeks and for various reasons. First it was "maintenance" that had the pool closed for 2 months or so. Now it says it is closed due to "power outage"... I don't know what is actually going on or when will they get it together but if they keep doing this I'm canceling my membership...🤬

Primer semana y fatal, todo muy sucio el baño de los hombres apesta demasiado a orines, los vapores igual muy sucios. Los recepcionistas pésimo servicio pero eso sí se molestan si no té suscribes por un año.

I honestly like working out this location in melrose park but unfortunately the pool is closed . I ask for what reason 3 shift don’t know or the employees that clean the gym . Is ridiculous that we are paying and pool is not open . Cleaning service got better.

The one and only gym you don’t need a membership too!! Nobody is ever at the counter overnights and anyone is allowed to just walk passed the check in, also free drinks!! Nobody is there to check you out so people just grab and walk away. Everyone says the tanning beds don’t work every time you ask to use one because they don’t know how to put you in one, it’s a friggin DUMP. Have fun getting in for free 😊

Clean bathroom clean pool clean machines dumbbells organized correctly as they should be I have to comend the regional mgr Mike he stepped in and really cleaned this gym up. The pool was in poor condition and re brought it back to life again where it looks brand new again!! He's training staff and changing the culture of this prisonyard gym I look forward to seeing where it goes from here. THANK YOU MIKE !!! And xsport corporate for putting the right man for the job there

Advertising of facility's equipment and condition needs to be more transparent to customers and facility paying members. A good number of the equipment are faulty. Showers in the shower stalls are frequently broken. Sometimes only cold freezing water comes out, and sometimes only very hot scalding water comes out. Maintenance is poor: toilet stalls and bathroom are often littered with used paper towels around the floor. Garbage bins are frequently overflowing in the bathroom area. These equipment conditions seem unsafe and unsanitary for users. I would say it is probably only a matter of time before these things are noticed by a government safety and sanitation regulations inspector, and / or reported to them.

Called yesterday, asked about prices for buy 1 year, get 1 yr free membership, and the girl told me $379, but only today, tomorrow will be $399. I dropped everything and came. Mike the sales person started asking me how much I paid several years ago (I was a member about 8 years ago). The he gave me the whole speech about how the prices dropped. Then he started clicking on his computer and all of a sudden: When did you call? I said today. He found the girl who gave me the quote, and guess what? She did not look at the right date. Today, the price is $429, which is basically the price I paid 8 years ago. What was that speech about prices dropping? And who answers the phones and gives quotes and then not honor them? Just strangers from the street? So incompetent!! She did not even come up to apologize! I asked to bring the price down and Mike said: I can't and shows me the screen with the price. Question: if they go by the price on the screen, where did the girl find $379? Do they have different screens for the same gym on the same date?
And now I am reading all the one start comments and thinking: God saved me form buying membership in this dirty place. No wonder, 90% of patrons are unhappy. Well, good riddance!

It was a robbery, I paid for a personal trainer and we hardly trained, when I wanted to cancel it because I couldn't pay anymore since I was going to another country and it was obvious that I wasn't going to go anymore, they didn't want to cancel me and I paid 600 dollars for 2 months, a theft

Every time I go into the bathroom there is toilet paper everywhere, toilets are dirty, puddles of water on the floor that do not get mopped. Many of the machines are broken for a while and do not get fixed. Worst of all I was paying for spa membership to use the massage chairs and I haven't been able to use it no even ones they keep telling me they are out of service.

Machines stay out of order here for weeks at a time. It took 3 weeks for the out of order door to be fixed here. Belmont and Central location seems to be more on top of their game than this location, and that’s saying a lot

Since they are closing the express locations the gym are over packed and you have to constantly wait to use all the machines and it's standing room only in the sauna. Going to switch to a gym that's less busy.

They turn of the steam room and suana at night, in the morning the manager comes to turn it on!!! I’m paying almost $50 to have access to the Sauna and steam room just for them to be turn of and not working !!!!!!! . If they don’t fix that issue I’m taking my money some where else !

Great gym and staff. Gym has everything you need and if a machine or saunas is down they are on top of it and are fixed by the next day or two. Also their trainer Alex is one of the best I’ve ever meet/trained with! Recovering from a broken tibial and informed him of the injury. He was able to get my strength back an more to relieve the pain from it being weak. Thank you so much Alex and the staff for being so family friendly and welcoming you all are the best!

Looks run down, most machines look like they're on their last legs. Water in the pool and hot tub are extremely really dirty, smells like they just threw chlorine to try and keep them clean. Half of the faucets in the bathroom don't work, there's always trash in the steam room. No cleaning is done during the day just at night.

This gym is super dirty! Hair all over the place, the swimming pool dividers are filthy! I'd like to swim but the dividers are so nasty I'm scared I'll catch something! Please clean this gym up!!!!!!

Had a joint membership ($40 a month, the next membership) with my mom, the gym was fine for 2 months. Bit crowded and sort of dirty, but fine. After 2 months, they randomly wouldn't let me in as a minor without my parents because i didn't own the account, even though the person who sold me the membership told me I could come in alone.

Also, the classes are always crowded and people who had lower memberships could always come in.

ALSO also if you need dumbbells from 10lbs to 35lbs, forget it. I never see them. And the bar to benches and squat racks were always gone?

Bad customer service. Lacking equipment. Wouldn't recommend.
