I tried canceling my membership, when I moved from the area, a year ago. Now, each month, they still try charging my card, they blow up my phone and expect me to pay over $100 in late fees, after making it clear that I am no longer interested in a membership.

The new hours of this gym are a joke. When this place first opened as LA Fitness, it closed at 8 p.m. on weekends. Now, they close at 2 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays. I've been to gyms all over the USA, and I've never heard of one closing so early. And despite these reduced hours, the monthly rates they're charging members haven't gone down. This is a textbook example of shrinkflation—paying the same (or more) for less. If they keep these reduced hours, members will soon be leaving in droves.

I've been coming here for five years. This is a great gym and it is well managed and organized. It has a good variety of equipment and while it can be crowded during peak hours, off-peak hours are quiet and there is plenty of equipment. All this gym equipment and a pool is a great value for the price. And I give special thanks to the kind young man who helped me when I accidentally locked my padlock key inside the locker. He spent ten minutes with the bolt cutters cutting the lock off and really had to work super hard at getting it off but he succeeded in the end.

Quality gym with a wide selection of machines, benches, racks, etc. However my main complaint is that the wi-fi here is subpar and truly struggles to run music streaming apps such as Spotify, which I find essential to use during workouts. This would not be an issue if the cell service would work, but unless you are near the front of the gym the interior has terrible cell reception.

Update: this gym has gone to crap. All TVs are broke. Locker room/bathroom hasn't been properly maintained for quite some time. Gym is in a desperate need of a new manager. Someone who gives a damn. New weekend hours only open to 2:00 p.m.That's gonna lose members, most ppl are only able to work out on weekends. Make it 4:00 at least. I recently booked a free pass through your official website and visited one of your locations expecting to use it. However, when I arrived, I was informed that I needed to purchase a $20 day pass to enter. This was disappointing and felt misleading, as the guest pass option was clearly available online. I’ve had multiple experiences where I’ve been working out then the trainers come in and try to run me out of there. Been here for 3 years and it’s never been a problem but now. They are constantly going out of their way to be rude and bully my friend and I. There’s plenty of equipment but it just so happens to be when they come in they need the things I’m using, when’s there multiple others. They put their purse on one of the blocks then tell me I need to give up mine… how about you use the one you put your stuff on?

The sanitizing wipes are always stocked up, hand sanitizer station is always refilled and working, all treadmills appear to be working and in good condition. The staff even greets you when you arrive. These are all basic things that you would expect from a gym, but my home club lacks all of the above. Looking forward to returning!

This gym has really gone down hill in the last 3 or 4 months. Nice equipment but everything else is horrible. The bathrooms are filthy and the crowd of people that go in there is bottom of the barrel. Gangs and young punk kids stand around and talk rather than lift. There’s always something broke and the WiFi is horrendous. Trainers and staff care more about talking to one another and what new workout clothing they have than just being helpful for the people that actually need it. They also just had a shooting there last week, that was the final straw for me. If you’re not a dbag, gang member or young punk kid I would suggest going somewhere else

Love the staff, my favorite feature is the 25 yard lap lanes they have. Would be awesome if eventually they could add a speaker in there as well. Sauna, spa, showers. Overall very clean & have free weights.

Extremely frustrated by this company. My husband started a membership with them almost 8 months ago. That included personal training. My husband was diagnosed with a brain aneurysm and has not been able to use the personal trainer benefits since January. The club offered to suspend the personal trainer portion of the payment and we would just pay the membership. They suspended the payment for 2 months and then all of a sudden started taking out the payment again. My husband went up there today to re explain that his doctors do not want him doing anything that would be physically straining and he needed to cancel the personal training piece of the membership for good. Instead of being understanding that my husband has a serious medical condition this company decided that he would need to send a copy of a medical documentation that states he can’t do those things. They said they would take it under review but their is no guarantee that they would cancel the personal training portion of the membership. I think that as a gym you would think they would be concerned about the health and safety of their clients and a little more understanding for clients who are going through something out of their control.

Great machines, most of the staff who aren't banging each other or their clients are pretty cool. The lower prices allowed a certain crowd in now you have kids running all around the hot tub and the pool, working out in groups of 4-5 which is miserable for the rest of us. I can see it really going downhill over the course of the next year or so. Been stabbings in the basketball court area. Cops there often. Would be a lot nicer if it went back to LA fitness like it was before. They do keep it clean tho. Scotty on day shift is AWESOME!

Somethings wrong with this guys, I got charged many times while it was canceled. Lack of customer services . From the hour one I was canceling everything . Your credit card it will be charged without your permission . Then you got to return your money back it takes couple weeks. Couple months later your credit it will be charged again . I’ve been attending LA Fitness for approximately 3 months now. Since my first encounter everyone was so friendly. I really admire the diversity and support that they offer. Every employee take their position very seriously in order for people like me to achieve my goal. Employees like Amna takes her job seriously and by that I mean helping me achieve my goals. She provides motivation and inspiration. She pushes me to my limit and I believe that is a gift that God has given her, the passion of fitness. It’s hard to find a gym where you can sense the passion of what they’re doing instead of doing it for a check. I've been going here for about a year now, I've been a gym rat for over 10 years and this is one of the better ones. The cario equipment is almost always operational, and there's enough treadmills available if all stairmasters are full during peak hours (I'm not picky). They have plenty of strength training equipment and quality cable machines, resistance ones, and enough benches to satisfy any avid weight lifter. I haven't done any of the classes but they seem full every time I walk by so I'll assume they meet their purpose. The staff are all friendly and have a good customer service mindset.

If I could critique a little, I'd suggest putting more of a focus during peak times in the evening to put more of a focus on cleaning the locker rooms. I'll still give 5 stars overall. I'm not sure what the Janitor's name is who works the early morning's but he's always got a great attitude and works his butt off. I hope this helps anyone considering this gym.
