Ive been a member of xsport since the building was constructed in 2004....ive never seen a gym go downhill this bad. Our price has gone up and this is what we get

1) no longer 24/7
2) all papertowels to sanitize machines are gone.
3) the basketball floor looks like michael j fox nailed it
4) several times im using the washroom to find to find female staff cleaning the floors. ( imagine if a male janitor was cleaning when women were changing? )
5) the place is falling apart
6) ive gained 20lbs because the thought of going to that gym makes me want to stress eat. Kidding but not really.
7) I feel like I work out at a dollar store in one of the nicest cities in the state. I would highly recommend going to planet fitness. Ive never been to one, but it appears the quality is the same.

Absolute JOKE of a gym. The equipment is outdated and if not it’s greasy and not well kept. A machine will break once every month and they’ll wait 3 weeks to fix it. Since LA fitness has taken over the facility has lost, rock-wall support, tanning bed, supplied basketballs, paper towels, the hot tub literally breaks every week (this didn’t happen under xsport), the air conditioning is sticky, they STILL DO NOT TAKE APPLE PAY. This gym is so expensive and simply so far behind in every aspect and LA fitness is the one to blame. This gym needs to be 24/7 all days a week. People cannot work out by 7 pm most days. Keeping my membership her genuinely feels like a waste of time as the front desk workers are simply incompetent and rude. Do not go here if you aren’t already trapped in a subscription. It is a dump and based on their replies and managing crew I doubt anything will be done about it.

Not clean. Machines are out of order a lot. Staff is not helpful and don’t seem to know what is going on. Three workers behind the front desk just talking when so many things could be cleaned, stocked, etc. Classes cancelled with no backup instructors. Charging for classes and not updating equipment used or level of instructions. Not sure I will renew unless things change.

Dead skin caked onto every bar and dumbbell, nothing has been cleaned, updated, or maintained. Fog on all the mirrors from the lack of airflow/circulation. Ceiling is leaking everywhere and caution tape blocking off significant amount of equipment.

Typical cash-grab gym model where they wont cancel your membership (even upon request in person, phone and email, checking all the boxes) and they keep billing you for years without your knowledge.

Then, you have deal with corporate who will (by design) not help you...

This is sadly common for the gym industry who need to implement ways to take/keep more of your money and make it extremely difficult to make it right afterwards.

I came in looking to get a membership was greeted and welcomed by a staff member who I later realized was the GM. Jordan made me feel at ease with the enrollment took his time to assess me and some parts of my body I needed to work on primarily and educated me on where my heart rate should be. A general plan he would like to Implement. He shared a trainer I’m booked with that would be perfect to help me achieve my goals and made sure I was able to add my wife and kids to my membership. It’s so hot and smells so bad that me and my friends call it “the shoe” since it feels like you’re inside a sweaty gym sneaker. This place is hilariously awful, like I tried swimming in the pool once and immediately broke out in a rash. Only redeeming quality was the 24 hrs but those hours are now gone.

I’m so confused why NO ONE is acknowledging the fact that everyone is constantly telling this gym that it’s awful lifting there because there is absolutely no air on in this place. It feels disgusting when lifting. No one wants to pass out while they’re trying to get a good workout in. If we wanted that, we would join an outdoor gym. Please turn the air on!

And please FIX the ripped equipment. Literally everything is so nasty. The barbells have zero grip on them anymore, the floors are uneven, the benches are torn, and the rest of the equipment never works properly. This place is literally scum and it smells like mold.

This gym is an absolute joke. The air conditioning is NEVER on—it’s constantly hot and humid and Sticky inside, like working out in a sauna. It’s actually hard to breathe sometimes. Equipment is always broken and rarely ever gets fixed. You can report it a dozen times and nothing happens. The teenage boys that work the front desk always on their phones just shrug and brush you off.

To top it off, while I had my headphones in, a front desk associate stopped me to ask if I wanted to sign up for personal training. I politely said no, and he literally responded, “Come on, please help me.” Are you serious? I’m here to work out, not to be guilt-tripped into boosting someone’s commission. The personal trainers (minus a couple) barely even look qualified to train people. This place sucks. Also, the bright ass lights they just added make you feel like you need to wear sunglasses.

This place is a dump. It’s smells! There is No air conditioning. The doors were propped open. Like a car could drive through them No Wi-Fi The equipment benches are split, the mirrors are foggy and tarnished. The weights have no grips on them. So glad I didn't get a trainer from them . The decline continues!! Gave one week notice that they will no longer be open 24 hours any days at all(despite what their website says)- air conditioning is out(AGAIN)- locker room smells, never sanitized, mold and mildew rampant, machines take weeks to get fixed, shower heads missing in showers, management doesn’t care about members concerns. I will be leaving this gym soon, and suggest others stay away.

Website still shows this place as being open 24/7- found out the hard way they are not. Very dirty. Rude/non-attentive staff- don’t even look up and say hello when checking in. Sanitizing wipes often gone. Has an odor of BO. Locker rooms are filled with mildew. You would think when a corporation like LA Fitness purchases a line of gyms, they would put money into it and make it better- just the opposite- place is in a fast and steady decline.

This gym has no loyalty to their members. Been coming to this gym for years. Everyone knows me. I’ve been bringing my guest for the past 4 years to lift with me. Today I was denied my guest and they wouldn’t make any exceptions besides attempting to sell them a membership.
As a manager myself, I find it frustrating and ridiculous that Xsports management couldn’t work with me to find a solution despite my loyalty.
The basketball community is a big reason I go here but the court is constantly slippery or warped.
The gym is already overcrowded most hours of the day with broken equipment that takes weeks to repair.
Half the time it’s gamble on if the steam room or sauna will actually work.
I’m disappointed.

I signed up at xsport in November 2023.Today is February 8, 2024 I have lost 15 pounds. Fitness trainer Jordan advised me on what to do and I stayed consistent and the weight is falling off me. Before I signed up at xsport. I would ride my bike 30 miles. Work out 3 to 4 times a week and couldn't drop the weight. I didn't have the proper knowledge. Amazing the possibility with the right information and applying it. I haven't been this size in 15 years.

The main reason I signed up here is for the sauna, steam room, hot tub, and resistance pool. As of the last month none of these amenities are functioning consistently and the locker rooms smell like pee and mildew. On top of that taking a shower is uncomfortable due to the lack of hot water. Ive been a member at Xsport for well over 15 years. Over the last 6 months it has been the dirtiest that Ive ever experienced. From hairballs & debris on the studio floor, the sweat & hand prints on the studio mirrors and dirty women's bathroom that hadnt been cleaned in weeks, that clearly the management does not walk the floor and visit his location. After a few people complaining about the floors they had been washed. After telling the front desk that there was no disinfectant for us to use, they brought in more. The mirrors havent been washed in over 3 weeks. If they have, they are not cleaning them correctly and managment is not over looking the situation. Every Monday morning, the same sweat spots are still there week after week...An excuse from an employee is that the gym is very busy in the evening and the people dirty the mirrors after they clean them. Suggestion.. clean them more often. I've experienced broken treadmills and just move onto one that is working. Also then the increase my membership this year to cover increased expenses for them.. Several of my friends have left this gym and joined other close by gyms because of them not keeping it clean. The front desk people are friendly. The group fitness instructors are great.

High pressure sales gimmick during sign up where with a borderline inappropriate comment from the manager. However, I did end up buying some personal training sessions.

The trainer was also unprofessional…on his phone during the workout, went to the bathroom, then put me on the stair climber and walked out of the building after saying “I’ll meet you over there.”

The workout was not worth my time at all, 4 sets of 10 hammer curls, 4 sets of 10 bicep curls, 4 sets of lat pull downs and 30 min on stair climber. Not worth the money I paid. Im all about pushing myself in the gym but 4 days later, I still cant fully straighten my arm and its very uncomfortable.

I complained and was given a refund for the sessions. Another employee…possibly higher management for the region… who was there listened to me and validated my concerns. I appreciated that, but also think others should be warned about this place. Im sure there are better trainers there but I had a bad experience.

Dirty and run down. A staple that they tried to use to put new leather on a machine seat had popped right out and cut my leg. Machines are awful, hard to use. The rubber floor is peeling upstairs. Bathrooms are consistently unsanitary. Hair in showers, soap residue, stalls are dirty, frequently no soap or toilet paper. And See photos below of a shattered sign (that literally says do a visual inspection), and glass shards left sitting on equipment. Third photo was what I walked into the locker room to see last week! Fourth photo is medical tape with a weight written in pen so that you can attempt to know how much you’re lifting. Embarassing. Such a mess. The only good Xsport locally is the Carol Stream location.

This xsport fitness failed to meet standard expectations for a gym. I went back after a few years to see if anything had changed, and the establishment has gotten worse over the years. Walk in the locker room, and there's water everywhere. The sink sprayed water out in all directions (happened to me and 2 other guys). The steam room smelled like someone had urinated in it. The upstairs was extremely hot - Nearly suffocating. I do appreciate Jordans (managers) effort and kindness toward me when I had came in as a guest, but the place is not well kept. After 8+ years of an XSport membership, I have decided to cancel. Some of the things I have missed since initially signing up...towel service, porters to keep the gym equipment areas clean and picked up as well as the locker room clean, a lot of the equipment is in disrepair and frankly their middle management turn over is frequent. Since I signed up, I had one of the best personal trainers, Matt. He helped me identify and achieve my goals, assisted me back to top performance following shoulder surgery and gave me good nutrition information. I will miss him.

I visit his location and Schaumburg.
St Charles and Schaumburg are gross. Equipment is consistently broken with no identifying number to use the TEXT to FIXIT app. The Locke rooms are dirty and messy. Showers are gross and Steam Room is gross, smells and barely works. I NEVER see anyone cleaning and I visit at all hours. Never have I seen the showers or locker room floor being sanitized. Soap is always out, paper towels are always out and Sanitizer is always out.

Changed my card numbers and they still harass me. You realize I probably would have came back to your gym if canceling wasn't so difficult. I supported XSport through Covid even though it was not possible to go there. Now, when I need to reduce membership so I can afford a workout they want to charge me more than $100.00 to change. Wow! too bad they do not care about their members who have been loyal. I won't ever recommend this work out place. As well, the ceiling above the hot tub is falling down and has been for a long time and a lot of their equipment is in disrepair. I thought they did not fix the equipment because of covid's timing. These issues were there before covid and continue now. It is surprising St. Charles has not accepted Lifetime Fitness and up their game. Plant fitness is better than this 'sport' center.

First, I want to say how helpful and understanding Jordan was about freezing my account. I had the pleasure in talking to Jordan on the phone earlier today on what to do in order to freeze my account due to medical reasons. He kindly explained to me what they needed from me in order to freeze my account. He told me come into the gym once I received a Drs note, and he would be there to help me out. I was worried I would possibly have issues in freezing my account, but Jordan reassured me that they would take care of me! He was very respectful, and explained everything so well. They make cancellation extremely difficult on purpose. It can’t be done over the phone, electronically or even in person! You have to physically mail a letter, which my family member had to do 3 separate times each spaced by 30 days before they actually canceled it. I wanted to pay for a one month membership in cash, and they refused. They make it mandatory that you give them card details so they can charge you continuously beyond what you actually want. I’m replacing the card I gave them entirely because that’s easier than getting them to cancel for you. Real shady stuff going on here.

It was my 1st gym visit again after the pandemic. I used to come to this place and today I was shocked by how untidy the men's locker room was. The work out area is good but as soon as I entered the mens locker room I almost did not take a shower anymore. It needs deep cleaning, shower area has foul odor, floor is dirty and a lot of sections is wet. Paper towels are all over the floor too.

First and last time I go this location. Plenty of equipment but needs a deep cleaning. Gym area smells and The paper towel dispenser were all empty. I can only speak for the men's locker room when I say its kinda disgusting in there but I guess this also shows the kinda people that visit this location so I cant blame the staff completely.

This place is simply falling apart...
- Most of the 8 showers don't work properly: Shower heads are half broken, shower knobs half broken as well, which means that sometimes you can't even get hot water; soap dispensers are empty by 11am.
- Locker rooms and restrooms are very dirty and smelly
- The ~ 3 dozen TVs on both floors are not working anymore; it has been 2 weeks! Rumor has it that Xsport did not pay their bills...
- Half of the spin bikes have broken parts, including pedals, water bottle cages, resistance knobs, etc. You have to try 2 to 3 bikes to find one that works...
- It was much better several years ago. This is the result of over-selling $9.95 memberships! This place is over-crowded and maintenance and cleaning are not keeping up.

Yes, it's popular and busy most of the time. And, yes, the equipment sees a lot of use. Nothing wrong with that! All the stuff is great and gets maintained and repaired. Them mask-wearing people who freak out over surfaces not being sprayed with chlorine all the time will likely not like it here, the place is too busy for all-out cleaning, wipe your own stuff if it bothers you. Most stuff is clean enough to touch. This gym has a very good balance of fitness and weightlifting options. And if you're serious about staying in shape or growing a muscle or two, it is great! Wide choice of workouts for the price! And kudos to all the staff for making people feel welcome!

By Far this is the best xsport location I have been to. The gym is always super clean, equipment is always working, & the workers are super nice and helpful! Jordan the manager helped me with my gym membership and got me an amazing deal with all the perks included! I would highly recommend coming here.

Beware, it made me laugh when the post office worker saw the address on the envelope and said oh canceling your membership? That should speak volumes to what xsport really is.

I feel like I was completely lied to by the sales guy. The facility was packed at 530am, equipment was old and broken and there was not really room to do anything else.

The facility still looks like it probably did in 2005.

Cancelling the membership is also a pain in the neck due to having to mail a certified letter to the company requesting the cancelation.

I'm really happy at the XSport on Randall in St. Charles. It's a beautiful facility with lots of machines and spa amenities like tanning, infra red sauna, steamer pods, led facial. I feel like they work hard to keep it clean.

The staff are knowledgeable and kind and able to help and hear any issues you may experience. Special shout out to doppelgängers Jordan and Joe, front desk Ash who always greets me with a friendly smile, Personal Trainer Jon who can teach you about nutrition and how to use the machines, and Shaylee who seems really sweet and fun when working out with my daughter.

Sure, sometimes something or other may not be working but I'm thinking thousands of people work out here so of course there will be wear and tear, and parts take forever to come in for almost anything nowadays... so that's a part of life post Covid. They are totally on it though.

I love that XSport is open 24/7 cause I like to go during off times so that it's not too "peopley". One night after taking a late nap we went swimming at 12:30 am. How cool is that?

So yeah. Thank you XSport for being a clean place to escape to and relax in, work out, tan, and thaw out during the winter in the saunas and steam rooms.

Just recently got a membership here cuz I work literally not even a minute away and already I wanna cancel do to an incident in the morning yesterday, I was entering the parking lot and some gym bro almost caused an accident because he thought incoming traffic had to wait for him but let’s be honest if I had stopped at the entrance I’d have a high chance of being rear ended and as I was about to be a kind person and check on em to see if they were ok after honking which can sometimes scare people meat head decided to yell profanities at me and even got out of his car (guessing he wanted to fight) if that’s the type of people they have at this gym then you best believe imma cancel and sign up at planet fitness (also I’ve been seeing many comments of people being billed after trying to cancel, I had the same issue 4 years ago and had to cancel and order a new card so I wouldn’t be billed anymore hope that helps though I know it is a hassle)

Used to have great facilities, a pool, an indoor court, and of course, plenty of cardio and weightlifting gear. While they don't interest me much, they also have classes for specific muscle groups and general fitness. Now a lot of it has gotten a bit dirty, especially the court could use a sweep.

The management here is poor. The hot tub has remained in disrepair for the past two weeks and nothing has been done. The jets don’t work. The top portion of jets are weak. The bottom part doesn’t work at all. The celing is falling down above the hot tub. it’s really pathetic. Don’t waste your money here.

Great gym at a reasonable price. If you have the opportunity to snag one of the personal training promotions, do it! Alaina taught me how to work out, and I could always text her with any questions. I like this gym so much that I would go after work at 8:30 at night. 🤷‍♂️ I was never that dedicated before. If you haven't already, give XSport a try!

Also, if you are worried about being judged because of the size of this gym, don't. Nobody cares what stage you are in on your fitness journey. Everyone here is there for their own benefit, not to judge. Also, there are always fellow gym goers to help you lift a heavy bar if you need it.

I went there in person for a 10 dollar membership, and then next thing I knew, I got charged 39 dollars at the end of the month! That’s insane! The people who work there really like to pull a lousy trick of trying to convince you to get a premium membership, and even if you insist on the one you want, they change your membership without your consent, and they charge you MORE. This is ridiculous. I requested a cancellation, but haven’t gotten a call back...

I have been training at XSport St. Charles since 2010. I recently renewed my membership after a three year absence due to medical issues and cleared by my Dr. Needless to say I was excited to get back into the gym and back into my powerlifting routine. Needless to say It is nearly impossible to train in the afternoon between 1-4pm which is the only time I have available and is completely over crowded by so called influencers, people recording them selves and taking pics in the mirror and bogarting the machines. Needless to say I’ll never be able to get a good workout in and a lot of the new equipment sucks like the bench presses and BNP too. With this I’ll be cancelling my membership and going to a more powerlifting friendly grown up gym. Truly not the same XSport I remember.

I’ve been working out at X Sport at St. Charles (and Batavia) for over 10 years and I always attend some type of group Fitness class. I love that there are lots of options that work for my schedule. For the past few years I have been a regular with Colleen’s 20/20/20. It’s an awesome work out and Colleen is hilarious! I also go to Jackie’s Muscle Max class which is fantastic. It’s a very efficient full body conditioning work out. Jackie could not be nicer and she always encourages everyone to be friendly and learn names I love that! I also love Laura - she does cardio kick-boxing and her classes are fast paced, fluid, and she does it effortlessly. She also always has superb music! I’ve taken her classes for 10 years. Thanks for keeping me motivated to exercise!

I was att the Naperville location a couple nights ago when a chunk of plaster fell from the ceiling and hit a teenager in the head when he was spotting a bench press for his friend. It hit so hard it splattered about 10'. And rained down on others in the area. A couple kids told the manager. All he did is send a high school age kid to go look at it. They didn't evacuate the area, cordon it off , try to keep people away from it, clean it or call a repair person within the next 45 min. I was so frustrated by the lack of care by the staff that I tried to get them to do something about it. They just blew me off...Management should have been on top of this making sure people were safe instead of continuing to let people work out in this hazardous area.
