My cousin did a flip while the other kids watched and pouted because they are not as good as him. I also felt like a foreigner. Everyone there spoke anything else but English!

Tried to have my son try out for team. Filled out the paperwork to pay the $100 registration fee and the front desk lady wanted to argue about whether it was paid or not. Tried to get an understanding on what else was needed but kept arguing. Tried reaching out to the owner who said didn’t want our business. So unfortunate as they have good boys coaches. Shame they find it more important to argue than work through communication and do what’s best for the kids.

Our 6-year old daughter had grown out of our neighborhood kids gymnastics so Lakeshore was a great option for her. It’s an impressive gym and her instructors have been very nice and professional. Very happy we continue to bring her here for lessons.

I highly recommend Lakeshore Academy for gymnastics training. My son recently started at this gym, and the difference has been remarkable. The facility is not only conveniently located only 12 mins from our home in Glenview but also offers an exceptional environment for young athletes. The coaching staff is experienced and attentive, fostering significant improvements in my son's skills and confidence. The personalized attention and structured programs have made a world of difference compared to our previous gym. If you're looking for a top-notch gymnastics experience, Lakeshore Academy is definitely where you need to be.

Be careful with giving your credit card on file to this gym! We were there for 3 years (2 of those years my daughter was on a team) and realized the gym had increased rates without any notification. After looking back and doing the math, our rates had increased 55% over 18 months. Once the team parents realized this, we emailed but got no response. We started calling around to other gyms and found we were paying almost double for the same program at other gyms. This place only cares about money and no care for the gymnasts. Wish we had realized this sooner as we found a place that is transparent about things.

My daughter has been attending Lakeshore for a little over 3 months, and the amount that she has learned truly amazes me! She’s becoming more confident and brave, and that’s due to the great coaches and leadership. Definitely a place where kids can learn, and continue to grow each and every session.

My daughter has attended this studio for about six months now and we couldn’t be happier. We live 25 minutes away from the MP location, but it’s definitely worth the drive. This is the cleanest and most professional gymnastics studio I’ve found in the area. Marla and staff / coaches are friendly, professional, and supportive. My daughter has already shown such an improvement since attending the intermediate class. I look forward to her growing with the studio on a competitive level for many years to come.

My 2 year old daughter started gymnastics here on Saturday mornings with Ina & she is LOVING it! Classes for this age group can be tough to manage and keep everyone’s interest throughout the whole class, but we’re always having fun regardless! From when my daughter started 2 months ago to now, she has already grown so much in her confidence and skills. We also love to watch the older kids practicing as well! The only con would be the parking situation which can at times make us late while we wait for the limited parking to open up after waiting up to 10 minutes after our class has started.

I have had issues with this place and instructor at Mount Prospect location. My daughter also went to Chicago branch and it was fine. I have observed and also recorded biases by instructors while teaching certain students in class. Teaching approach has almost never been inclusive for all kids in class. Today was last straw for me and never going back to the place. in group of 8 my daughter was last in a row with 2 very tall girls in front of her. Instructor was showing what to do standing in front of first girl. I complained about it and person in office did not admit anything wrong with it. She went and told instructor and as a result my daughter was made to stand aside and didn't do rest of the session. There was no apology or signs that it happened by mistake. World is not a fair place but it is the worst kind of feeling when it happens to your child at a place where you have invested money and time.

They actively discriminate against disabled parents by refusing to take the most simple steps to accommodate a disability.

They don't even deny discriminating, they just claim they are allowed to. They simply state "If our [discriminatory] policies are not something that your family can adhere to then we will refund your card". The same logic would apply to racial, veteran-status, sex based, age based or any other types of discrimination if they feel like it.

I am very disappointed in this place. My daughter really wanted to try out gymnastics so we signed her up. There are two "coaches" in the class of 7. There is little to no personal help going on they just kind of sit back and watch. My daughter is having a hard time with cartwheels and instead of pulling her aside and helping by you know coaching, they just ignore it. I had her go ask them for help and they were of little help. During the exercises they are not instructing or coaching so half the kids don't know what's going on and the other kids are doing whatever they want. We will not be signing her up here again and I'd advise anyone else to not go here as well.

Edit 7/16/23: I am going to change my 1 star review to a 3 star at this point. The coaches have been getting a little better with helping my daughter with her skills and have been more attentive. After this session is done we'll make our decision on whether she'll continue here or else where.

Great place for my son. Very clean and I believe he is learning some level of discipline for the sport. There is lots of equipment for young learners to practice on.

I'm not a gymnast and know very little other then what I'm learning, but my wife was and knows a lot, and we both agree that this place is absolutely amazing. Coaches, staff, training, environment, the whole 9 yards. Just wonderful

My last review has been conviently deleted. This academy is ran as a overpriced babysitting machine. The coaches are never consistent and therefore the girls can never have growth to keep practicing on their skills. There are over 21 kids in this class on Wednesday nights and tonight there are three β€œcoaches”. One coach just stands there and nods his head, one coach looks around the gym and stares at her feet, the other coach bounces between the β€œteam” girls and this group. The hour in a half class has 15 minutes left and they are doing handstands!!! Go somewhere else

I would give it more stars but the sitting area is awful and they need some fresh air in there when you walk in it's just a cloud of chalk. Just open the door once in a while

My daughter has a blast at the Patent & Tot class at Lakeshore Academy in Mount Prospect! The instructors do a really great job keeping the kids interested and there are tons of different equipment/stations that the kids are able to use. Keep this place in mind the next time you're looking for a way for your kiddo to burn off some energy!

Out of concern for others' children, be careful with this studio. There are many wonderful coaches, but sprinkled in are negligent coaches. It only takes a bad seed to make a bad crop. There is not enough oversight or management of processes and theory to maintain a professional business. The results are injuries to the students and money that is spent without results. Be safe!
