Gym takes FAR too long to do anything. When equipment breaks they get rid of it instead of fix it. They have taken away good functional equipment and spent money, THOUSANDS, on useless stuff that doesn't improve health and fitness in the slightest. They absolutely refuse to replace the leg extension no one wants to use and get secone good one so good luck doing quad extensions without waiting. Meanwhile, its FULL of members who are wasting their time and just getting in the way. Don't come mon-fri due to laziness but insist on pretending they care about their health on the weekends. So if you come on the weekends good luck doing anything at all. Would not recommend joining here.

Update. Leg extension has been bent for 3 years. More machines have been taken away (preacher, high row) and more massage chairs added. Gym refuses to respond to inquiries about broken equipment or missing equipment. Worst gym Ive been to but this area has nothing as large within 5 mins of me unfortuantely. Worse clientele ive also ever seen.

20 + year membership by location.This is a great gym but beware! Its also one of the most expensive. You will find it squeezing money from what areas you utilize with additional fee classes, camps, parties ect. making them inaccessible to you. Giving you a smaller gym to work with. They will increase your membership calling them upgrades, but really it's just maintenance and upkeep. This gym manages and prioritizes profits like an equity firm.

Nice but not as good as I thought it would be.........Still worth the money though. It is nice to come here if you have kids since it is not as crowded as the average community/public/city/town pool. By the way for all the people who are thinking about signing up but have not visited in person yet, visit first. All of the images are stock images that they use for each and every single location. This looked completely different than the pictures and they advertise their tiny waterslides as giant which is completely untrue. Also to the people with kids, kids can not use the gym equipment or even go up to the second floor. Still a very nice place to be though.

Twice my footwear get stolen from the lockers within an hour workout. Idk if it’s members or staff but I would have expected a safer environment at this price point. What’s even worse is when I tried to report it to the guy at the front desk, he didn’t seem to give a damn, “nothing we can do unfortunately, you can report it to the police if you want” and just turned around !! Very unprofessional

I was a member here years ago, it was pretty nice back then.

I did stop by recently to see if anything had changed, to possibly sign up.... It had not.

When you factor in that Lifetime is now $199 month, and your average basic/no frills gym is $15-20 month.... its about 93% cheaper to sign up at one of those gyms.

I don't want to sound like a hater, but I have to keep it real.... there are much nicer gyms around that are much cheaper.

I have been a member at lifetime and have been coming to the Burr Ridge location for many many years. It is a great clean gym. Arnell is outstanding along with Emma and Carolyn and everyone from the Operations department . Dianne Brady the women who works the front desk is absolutely wonderful. She is so kind. She is always smiling. Greeting everyone like their family. Remembers all the regulars names. She is so kind when she checks me in and makes it a delight to be part of Lifetime . She goes above and beyond for every member. Missing sheep’s tho. Thank you kindly.

This gym is much more comprehensive than I expected! The childcare is very trustworthy, which makes it much easier to actually enjoy my workouts. It is easy to feel like just another gymgoer at most gyms, but Joe really makes it a personalized experience because he takes the time to listen and make people feel valued!

I’m a bit of a gym /health club snob and have frequented / been a member (even taught classes but not at lifetime) at many over the years. Being a member at Lifetime for the past few years has exceeded all expectations it is worthy of a review. I go between oakbrook and burr ridge with Joe at Burr Ridge as the most helpful with any questions.
It’s truly a one stop shop for all your self care needs including doing it guilt free because the childcare is so wonderful with so many classes for them to experience- you might as well take a long shower and sit in the sauna after your workout (and the clubs are always clean which is my number one must have!)
Joe has helped me understand the club is more than a place for self care needs but social needs as well including parents night out and pool events. This year we have added the camp to our lifetime experience which my daughter loves as much as I love! They have so much planned for the kids including swim lessons at least once a week (also- the only camp to offer a decent hot lunch option). Highly recommend.

We just visited burr ridge lifetime last Saturday after always going to Oakbrook. The whole family had a great experience there from a workout class to rock climbing the sauna and the outdoor pool. Joe from member services was super helpful explaining what services were available and what was different from Oakbrook so we knew what to expect. We had a great visit and plan to visit again!

Been coming here for about 2 months now. Ive mainly stuck with the workout classes. Other people mentioned being crowded which is a bit true. The dry sauna is by the indoor pool and not in the lockers which is fine. The wet sauna is in the locker rooms. People seem to get that confused. I haven't had a bad experience yet but will come back to update on that. Everyone's been kind so far.

After decades of living in Hinsdale and Burr Ridge, Jim lied to me and hung up on me when my insurance was able to cover my families membership. He wouldn't let me talk to a manager or gm and I'm no Karen. I also got a rash in the steam room and extremely itchy, this didn't happen to me at TSP down the street on wolf. Sanitation seems to have gone down. Management is running it to the ground. Enjoy Four seasons though. It seems they're more focused on that.The locker room feels moldy and got me ill. This is definitely not the same lifetime I grew up in.

Update - June 4th, 2025
So, playing pickleball I thought I lost my phone (long story)… Many pickle ball colleagues helped trying to find my phone (Thank you ALL!), and staff members were so helpful as well, particularly Cody, who eventually used find my phone screen shot to pin point where the phone had slipped behind one of the legs of the bench. Lifetime Fitness customer service culture ROCKS!!! And kudos to Gen Z folks technical abilities to use digital gadgets!

Seems like this location rather snob you into NOT getting a membership, rather than help you sign up. I called twice to get info before coming bc Ive never had a membership and there was no answer so I decided to walk in to try it out. I come in at 12:50 on Monday June 2nd and the dark hair lady working the front was so rude and ignorant. Typically front desk should be warm and welcoming??
Other than that, the tour by Dom was nice, he apologized for our poor experience. Joy the yoga instructor was so sweet and welcoming.
But honestly the initial experience was so uncomfortable, I rather pay more to go elsewhere and be treated better.

raising my membership when all the leather on your benches are ripping, every free bench you have is lopsided and can cause injury & have multiple weight loaded machines that rock back and forth in which cause my a shoulder injury. there’s not a day where a new machine isn’t broken and haven’t made an upgrade to the weights since i joined in 2015

i want my membership cancelled immediately. this gym has completely lost view on what lifetime once was, & only are chasing money. the gym is over crowded every day, there’s no reason for the prices to go up because it doesn’t reflect on your gym. Burr ridge is far below any lifetime in the area. should be ashamed of yourselves for this.

Yesterday me and my family were parked and were ready to come in to look at getting a memebership. We have been lifelong members at the orland Park location and recently moved for work so this location would be more convient. We went to park there was this lady who seemed to work there walking in the parking lot as we parked our car. She waited for us to get out of car proceeded to take pictures of us and our license plate and then ran back inside the building. I don't know if she was a manger or what. I politely asked her why she was taking photos and she would not answer. After that experince from what seemed like someone who worked there we got right back in our truck and left. I have never met staff that wouldn't even polietly ask what we were doing there if maybe she thought we were not supposed to be parked there. It seemed a little discrementory of and event and I will never come back to this lifetime. If simply parking and being a younger lesbian couple is alarming for this lady than I don't want any part of that community. Truly diheartenting. This lady was older with medium lenth brown hair and was dressed not in gym attire which is why I think she worked there. Shame because I love lifetime so much but I will never join this location.

I have been to several LifeTime's in California, Illinois, Nebraska, and Colorado. Many of the new facilities such as Oak Brook IL, and Wheat Ridge CO, have a focus on lifestyle from a club approach offering high price amenities such as salon, Pilates or the exorbitantly overpriced personal training for $140 for a single session. Burr Ridge has a focus on family. This was the very first location I had been to as early as 2010 and the reason I joined LifeTime in 2022.

Burr Ridge is now an older location, and its age shows through the quality of workout equipment which has often seen heavy use and normal wear and tear and the cleanliness of the locker rooms. Burr Ridge shows a focus on family and is very welcoming to all ages. Their monthly due prices for couples, or students is affordable when compared to the other locations.

I had a negative experience where I was wrongly charged $140 for a PT session I did not book or authorize. I had not visited this location in over two years and was surprised to see a charge from the location. The concierge was respectful and helpful in attempting to resolve the discrepancy and assured me it would be reimbursed. Unfortunately, the concierge did not have the authorization to resolve the charge, and only the PT who charged my account could reverse it. The PT Ljubisha Nestoroski was rude and unforgiving for the situation over the phone and rather than work to resolve it, made accusations that my wife must have made the charge, and that it was "not my problem, the system shows what it shows" with regard to the ability to authorize the charge on his end. It took a week to resolve after contacting the PT supervisor, and was offered no compensation for the inconvenience. I have concerns for the ethical practices of Burr Ridge LifeTime's personal training services.

Outside this negative experience, I would have rated this gym 4 stars for its fair price monthly dues, amenities such as indoor and outdoor pool, and variety or quantity of workout equipment. I would still recommend this location to students or families. However, If you are looking to join LifeTime for the culture or premium amenities such as Pilates or PT, I would look to the other LifeTime locations.

Today, I received an email that my membership is climbing $20 to $139. It is the gratituded for being a member 15 years. What you get is a bunch of additional PAY classes blocking sections of the 2nd floor workout areas. They will not only block off sections but will take multiple pairs of dumbells leaving a limited amount. It's all about the money, not the customer. I could understand if the gym was clean and organized but pay close attention and you will see the dust build up and disorganization every morning. Beyond disappointed at this point with the commitment to its members.

Avid member of Lifetime who recently moved out of state, and I am sad to go as I had the best gym in the country! Lifetime as a brand is quality and top of the line in every way imaginable. The big knock against them is the pricetag, but if you are thinking it is too expensive then you need to consider how valuable investing in your body and mind is. They not only offer a gym with top of the line equipment, but proper nutrition and areas for meditation. They have a top shelf staff, and if you need any help swim lessons, ask for Nick in Aquatics. He is professional and helpful, but also polite which gives a great mix! This club is worth every penny, and you'll be a member for Life!

If you plan on joining this gym and playing basketball then I would go somewhere else. Not only was one of the courts turned into a pickleball court, but the other side is almost always taken up with events or daycare. Shower heads are absolute rubbish. One of them was not even in place! It can fall on someone! All Showers need a serious full update inside out which also, need to be cleaned more often. Towels are to small in mens locker room. Would like some changes and updates. A ice spa would be key at this location since alot use the steam room, sauna, and jacuzzi. By the way, the jacuzzis lights are so dim that it doesn’t even look like it has lights. Make the lights brighter. Would seem a bit more high class then how it looks today. 12 of my family members and I have been members at this location since it first opened up i want to say back in 2009? Anyway a year ago i went to one of the other locations like Oak Brook and just wow. What a difference. This Burr ridge one need’s attention immediately 360 degrees.

Went there with my wife (with Hijab) and my daughter, asking about family membership. The front desk guy was responding per minimum, didn’t care.

Lifetime workers George Vlahos and Dominika Klich was very helpful my kids learning climbing , very appreciate ,also 1 thing is missing in the gym, possible make 1 cold plunge? Or at least couple showers with cold water only? (Since I can’t find shower with very cold Watter in the gym)Will be awesome cold plunge plunging has shown the abilitv increase vour baseline dopamine. Dopamine is the molecule in our brain and body that is linked to motivation.

Every time I was in the building, I felt racially profiled. At one point I was compared to another person of color that looked nothing like me but our race is similar, it was a worker that made the comment and I felt very offended. The workers usually just stare as if I do not belong in there, rather than saying a hello or something. The lifetime cafe is so ridiculous, the portions that the teenage staff prepares is like they’re making it for a child rather than an adult. The customer service at the lifetime cafe is also not so great. I never feel welcomed. If you are a person of culture and color, and you’re planing on joining, be ready to get stares and terrible customer service from the teenagers and the staff that feel entitled. I would also like to mention that if you plan on playing basketball on the court, good luck. Since I’ve signed up it’s been so difficult to even access the court. They’re always hosting different activities in the basketball court but never in the pickleball side. I mainly joined because of the basketball court. I’ve made a call today to the gym to call and ask if the court will be available today before I made the 45min drive there and I was sent straight to Voicemail. I do not understand why they cannot host the summer camp and all the other activities elsewhere? We as members pay $150+ for this low quality of an establishment? It’s ridiculous. UPDATE!! This gym is still the same and nothing has improved, I once again started to attend because I wanted to give it the benefit of the doubt and if I could rate it ZERO stars I would, as I’ve stated previously I mainly got this membership because of the false advertising of it being a fitness club for everyone; but that is not the truth. This location especially has a preference for its Caucasian clientele, I arrived to the facility after I drove once again a long distance this time from my place of work so it made it about over an hour drive, for the basketball court since it’s one of the only gyms still open on Sunday nights until 10pm. However my drive ended up being pointless, once I’ve arrived I asked the front desk if the basketball court was available and he stated yes, so I went to the basketball court and both sides of the court were occupied by just one group of Caucasian MALES only, I asked several employees of that was allowed, until one of them finally got the night supervisor, once he came downstairs to speak with the worker that I asked; he stated that “first come first serve”, and I asked if it would be possible if I could at least use one half of the court since I am also a member of the facility; he then said that he knows the group that was playing on the full court and that they will not be leaving until closing time, meaning they would be hogging the court for SEVERAL HOURS. And not once did the supervisor even attempt to get the group’s attention to ask how long they would be or to even mention to them that someone, specifically a Woman was waiting to use the court. I find this gym filled unprofessionalism, and favoring of NON-minorities. Don’t even waste your time coming to this establishment if you ever plan on joining for the basketball court; it’s been months and I still haven’t even had a chance to get into the court, the one time I did, it got crowded with teenagers that did not respect me and ended up moving me out the court because they continued to overstep on me and shoot balls at the same moments I would attempt. I have never felt this uncomfortable in a gym ever, so much for unity in fitness.

I joined Lifetime Burr Ridge and the facility is great and well kept. But the real reason I love this gym is the staff. I can tell they work hard to make the gym the best version it can be. One person I really want to highlight is Nefa, she helped me get adjusted to starting a new gym and is there for anything I need. I’ve never not seen her greet someone with a smile, she is the best gym staff member i’ve ever met.

It’s a clean facility for the most part, some of the trainers there give it a bad name unfortunately.
It’s a busy gym but a trainer by the name of Chris B is has nothing but bad intentions of his clients. Makes fun of them, he has harassed people in the past as well. But while they have trash working for them I can’t leave a good review as my experience wasn’t good overall after knowing about him and hearing him speak to his clients.

I’ve been a member for 10 plus years. The club is nowhere near what it used to be. One the reasons me and my friends been there for so long are the basketball courts. Unfortunately there is no more access to them. One gets turned into pickle ball court which is fine, but other remaining court is never available for the members. The space it’s taken up by day-care and little kid events almost every single day.
If you are planning on joining with hopes to play basketball, don’t bother!

After being a member here for 10 over years pre-Covid and rejoining earlier this year, I can say that the quality of the Burr Ridge facility has plummeted. Aquatics is probably the worst because the general manager doesn’t value its importance. (And did I mention memberships including pool access are now an additional cost?)

I email the general manager regarding an ongoing issue with the designated lap lanes. And immediately after the email, the issue got worse. I emailed the general manager again after an incident…. and received NO RESPONSE.

It’s clear management caters to a select few. So if you want a gym where you experience an overrun of the whims of the local “karens”, then this gym is for you.

It's a well maintained club, but their policies are not well thought out or customer centric, and overall its not a good value. If you happen to join in the summer they forbid you from going to the outdoor pool unless you pay extra. This is the case even if you intend to be a long-term member. You either feel extorted or like a third class citizen. Having a six-month or one year membership requirement and waving that policy would make sense for a customer-centric company. We had constant issues like credits for the spa not being applied for services, the front desk questioning if we were really a household because my spouse has a different name, classes for the kids canceled after we arrived and after the start time for the class, the lifeguards trying to tell us the indoor pool was closed (with no notice) when it actually wasn't but they apparently just didn't want to staff two pools, and a byzantine process for making up missed swim classes. The swim instructors are excellent. But don't forget to give 30 days notice to cancel swim lessons or those "free for a month" lessons get quite expensive. Make sure they give you the paperwork that makes you aware of the policies, we never received any. If you're going to be paying $300+ for a gym membership and an extra $100 or so for swim lessons, you should expect better.

The main Lifetime Athletic Club that I go to is in Orland Park, but I have frequented Burr Ridge and Warrenville as well. They are truly top of the line. The facilities are immaculate, even the grounds. They have so many amenities, such as full service hair/nail salons and cafe. The convenience of having all necessary hygiene items on hand makes going to the gym even easier. The staff that I have come in contact with have all been knowledgeable, professional and personable. I have felt welcomed by fellow patrons. It is definitely a way better experience than other clubs and I always look forward to going there.

Used to come here all the time when visiting the area and happily paid ~$25 for a guest pass. They wanted to charge me $50 this time. I mean the facilities are nice, but it’s a gym in suburbia, not the spa at Caesar’s Palace.

I love love love Donna’s Arora program. There are so many activities in one week to choose from. Yoga, Aqua, Dance, Arora 360. They usually sponsor an Arora event with refreshments each month.
Burr Ridge offers my number 1 priority, DAILY yoga classes around 8:00 AM and many other yoga classes daily.

This is a gym with good and bad. They have a bright building. The facility, equipments, swimming pool, and locker room is overall clean (not the best though). Some towels are stained (I usually checked before using them. I saw once the staffs used towels to clean up bathroom’s floor). The overall service is fine, not so bad tbh. I have been a member for about 8yrs. Months ago I requested to add my wife to the account, they told me the price was about 200. I was fine with the price and asked the front desk input the request into their system, and was told someone would call me in days to confirm the process. Two weeks since then, I had heard nothing from them. When I checked with the front desk again, they told me they couldn’t find my request and the new price became 229. I feel like I requested the change right before their price change, so my request was purposely lost in their system :) I know business always looks for more revenue, but still not so comfortable with how they dealt with the case. We recently moved to another gym, but thanks for memory from past years.

This gym is so clean! My only complaint is that it is getting too busy for the amount of machines that are available on the weights floor. I always have to wait a long time for something to open up especially with the high-school kids coming from the school next doors. The front desk check in people are always so nice and welcoming! My favorite person is Jerry. He always greets me with a smile and whenever I have any issues losing items, he checks the lost and found for me. :-)

Great gym overall. I have been a member for a few months I am in the process of looking for a different gym. I am a big sauna fan however the sauna in this gym is like a social club. The same guys clog up the sauna and speak across the sauna using vulgar language. Any other gym I have attended in my life the sauna was to unwind after workout. If you plan on utilizing the sauna STAY AWAY! Otherwise great gym 🤷‍♂️

Clean, Cafe employees are very nice and fast, trainers are not very social so its hard to want to workout with some of them if they have a arrogance about them. No family discount. wish the pool had better music and possible alcohol like in Oak Brook. Manager is not social at all with members. Asst Manager is very nice, front desk is great. Jerry is an amazing hard worker. Equipment is usually working and stable. Free weight area to small for the mid-day crowd.

How do we complain about having access to the basketball courts from 6pm - 8pm. When we get out of work. We joined to play basketball after work or when my Highschool kid was done with school activities. You have kids that should be in the kids room where my kids played before you changed the courts from 18 and over. If you needed room to add more activities you should have built it. Not take away from the experience.
If a list of members is needed we will sign the list to give us access to the courts from 6pm -8pm.

Have them play some day.s on the pickle ball courts from 6pm to 8pm.
That would be fair.

Worth the price, especially after seeing other gyms in the area. Always clean and the people clean their machines after working out with disposable wipes. I never see that in other gyms. The only thing I wish was better was the guest pass privileges or access to other clubs.
