It's a very large facility, - I took a day pass,l as I was traveling to Chicago and though it was pricey at a 100$ a day, it was surprisingly worth the experience. Steam and sauna were very well maintained too.

Lifetime has been a core part of my health & wellness journey. I joined this Lifetime right as it opened up and my experience only continued to improve over the years. I've made friends and I've been challenged but nobody has had a bigger impact on my fitness journey than personal trainer Wes Patterson.
Wes is exceptional 10/10. He's knowledgeable, kind, funny, supportive and an overall good person. He has pushed me when I need to be pushed and encouraged me when I needed it. He created nutrition and weight lifting plan that worked around my busy corporate schedule and he educated me on how to properly use machines.
If you're afraid of the gym, weights, "gym bros" or just nervous to get back into or start working out GO FIND WES! He will meet you exactly where you're at and go on the journey with you to where you want to be.
Thank you Wes, you are truly a cut above the rest!

They really need to add fans to the cardio area, especially since the treadmills don't already have built in fans. There is no airflow, best compared to running in Florida heat. It surprises me a luxury gym would miss on something like that.

Paying $500/month at Life Time River North gets you a rooftop shut down at 9:30 pm, no food or drinks, rude service, and ignored complaints — nowhere near ‘premium.
I’ve been a loyal, long-time customer, and I expected far better than what we’re experiencing now. For the amount of money we pay, the service and offerings are unacceptable. On the rooftop, food and beverage service is consistently unavailable — no waiters, no drinks — yet members are constantly policed not to bring in any outside food.
Even worse, the rooftop is cleared out every night at 9:30 p.m., in the middle of summer, when members should be able to enjoy the space. Being forced out so early feels less like a premium club and more like a retirement home.
This is absolutely inappropriate and deeply disappointing. If this level of service continues, I will be left with no choice but to continue sharing my experience publicly. This is not the level of service expected from a premium club, and unless corrected, more members will surely feel the same disappointment.
⚠️ And if management chooses to retaliate by canceling my membership instead of fixing these problems, that will only prove my point and I will share that publicly as well.

Update 3 years later: moving down stars because of various reasons.
While my original review is still mostly true over time the price increases but the service and amenities do not.
Costs of membership are probably the highest in the city for a club. The pool varies on price each year and founding members were told they wouldn’t incur a fee only for that to change this year. The pool has ranged from $1000 for the summer to $400 for the summer. Then $100 per person for a guest pass for the pool.
Update June 2025: they did implement this and then change their mind mid summer allowing all founders free pool access. Glad they stood by the right thing to do but it really proves all of the inconsistencies for this location when it comes to fees.
Be careful what they tell you one year as it might change the next year. The pool also has a lot of chair holding or feels crowded quickly.
The events are mid and the general demographic who goes are 20-40s. I rarely see people meet or mingle at the club even in class or at events.
Seems to be a lot of staff turn over and there lacks a community “know your name” feeling compared to other LT locations.
Last issue is there is a limited bike space (but expensive parking) and the elevators are extremely slow and out for servicing issues (with no stair option). For the price of the club, pool, parking, and general staff turn over it’s not like the Life Time brand and you pay for everything!
Most of the trainers are great and instructors for classes are a highlight.
____
The club is definitely crowded during the busy times. The gym floor per other reviews does change up often it feels like over the year but I don't think that is a bad thing.
The cost is not cheap of $250 a month plus an added $5.95 parking cost for 3 hours. That is the buildings issue but they really should try to alleviate the rush and offer free/cheaper parking during hours that aren't as desirable to spread out. It's easy to get to from the red line and a short walk from the brown line otherwise. The pool is a great add in the summer but can get busy or a lot of "chair saving" spots.
The classes are great. The instructors are nice but the class times vary throughout the season. There aren't many on the weekend or weekend events at this location or mid-day as it's a mix to try to fit something in.
Overall the gym is clean though but yes the recovery equipment and services sometime are out. It can be frustrating for such a high cost. It's a nice location and 24/7.

The only thing keeping me there is that its open 24-7 and has a cold plunge (when it's not under maintenance indefinitely). If I pay an arm and a leg, I expect certain standards. The sauna is never heated enough and everyone in there constantly complains about it so I know I'm not alone. If you have a real job, forget about having a streamlined workout because evenings and mornings are always super crowded. They make you pay for parking which adds up to a couple hundred bucks on top of the membership fee. The elevators take forever. There's been times I'm standing there for 3-4 minutes waiting for the elevator. They make you pay for a pool membership on top of the parking and regular membership. The shampoo/conditioners are empty half of the time. I've been a member of lifetime for over a decade but I'm on the verge of cancelling my spouse and I's membership.

Unprofessional obnoxious training staff. They all bring their backpacks throughout the club on the workout floor. (not allowed) also take up 2-3 machines for their personal workouts during peak busy workout time. Be respectful of paying members.

Lifetime was a huge part of my fitness journey—I loved the amenities, the people, the cleanliness, and the staff. But after relocating to the city, I was told my only options were to cancel or upgrade from $150/month to $300/month plus a $200 upgrade fee. As an 18-year-old who had been a loyal member for over a year and a half, I asked if they could waive the fee or work with me on the price. The answer was no to both.
I reluctantly upgraded—big mistake. On my second day at the new location, the cold plunge was down, the water was murky but still open, and the pool license looked expired. Its ridiculous parking isn't included, and was never told the outdoor pool was extra. I also noticed that the water pressure in the showers are always low. For $300/month, I expected a premium experience. Instead, I got extreme disappointment. I’ll be canceling my membership and finding a gym that actually lives up to its price tag!

I joined this gym over the summer excited by what seemed like a great facility and experience. Unfortunately, over time, a number of issues have made me reconsider the value of my membership.
When I first signed up, I was told by the salesperson that both of my roommates could be added as co-members on my account. However, when we arrived together, I was informed that only one additional person could be added—completely contradicting what I was originally told. This felt like a misleading sales tactic and was very frustrating, especially since one of my roommates was then unable to join us.
The equipment is decent but nothing extraordinary—I’ve been to other gyms with much better setups for a fraction of the price. While the amenities are visually appealing, they don’t quite justify the high membership fee. That said, I will give credit where it’s due: the café is a really nice touch and one of the highlights of the facility.
What ultimately led me to write this review was arriving today to find the gym completely closed due to a power outage. There was little communication about the situation, no clear timeline for reopening, and no word on whether members will be prorated for the days missed. For a gym of this price point, I expect better transparency and customer service.
Overall, this gym has potential, but the lack of consistency and communication makes it hard to recommend at the current cost.

Brief but awful stop in
Just moved. Walked in. Explained I was checking out gyms near my new place.
First thing I was snootily told was they don’t let anyone try the gym for free. Fair enough. Asked how much a day pass was. $100. Asked if could at least tour (not workout) the gym first. Was condescendingly informed I would need to schedule a tour days in advance. Left.
Walked to Equinox down the street. Great gym. Asked for a tour. Accommodated immediately. And then they let me workout (I didn’t even ask) even though I told them I had a few other gyms to look at before making my decision.

Would put a zero if I could. Staff would clearly uninterested to explain the club to a new guest who bought a day pass for $100. (Staff name Brandon)
Had walked outside and was told I needed to check in for the pool which is understandable. Had explained I bought a day pass and wanted to tour the pool with a decision to sign up for a membership.
Was told they “weren’t able to do tours.”
Will be mentioning this to other guest and others looking at new club/gym memberships.

It's beyond ridiculous that parking isn't included. If you workout 5 days a week, the parking is $120/month making a gym membership $480/month for one person. If you go every day, it's $180/month to park and takes it to $509/month.
An entire family can get memberships for that at East Bank Club.
I get it, I need to just be rich and I'm not but it's bonkers that LA Fitness can offer free parking at literally every gym on a $16/month membership (2 years/$400) but Life Time couldn't figure out something for $329/month. Heck, partner with the big lot across the street after like 7pm or something.
I was desperate for a 24 hour gym with a pool since LA Fitness bought all the Xsports and there's no more 24 hour gyms in the city. I'm giving this a try but it's not THAT much nicer than the old Xsport locations other than the pool/sauna/hot tub reliably works.
The people are lovely, the premises are more well kept than LA Fitness which seems to aim for 3rd world bus station as their standard for upkeep but - again - there's still towels all over the locker room and discarded razors in the showers and stuff by the end of the day. It doesn't feel like luxury. It feels regular.
Would love to see them open one down by McCormick Place where parking is easier to find just to make it more affordable.
I'd much rather have free parking than any classes. Would be cool to see them get creative with amenities.
Also a bummer that they seem to have dropped out of every health insurance discount program. This is a GREAT $130 - $150/month gym. For $329, it's feeling like a major ripoff.

I walked into a place that felt more like a downtown club than a gym—crowded, chaotic, and overpriced. The locker rooms were a mess, with wet towels strewn everywhere and a lingering smell that made me question the "luxury" label. Tried to use the sauna, but it was out of order, and the staff seemed indifferent when I asked about it. Even the equipment was subpar; had to try multiple treadmills before finding one that worked properly. For the amount they're charging, you'd expect top-notch facilities and service, but this place doesn't deliver. Save your money and look elsewhere.

I have to update my review. The gym is really showing its age and they don't seem to deal with things as quickly as they used to. The company also made a decision (disastrous, in my opinion) to give up their branded partnership with Trainerize and roll their workout app into their main app. Unfortunately, the new workout feature of the main app sorely lacks any user-friendly interface and it seems that no one in the clubs no how to train their members how to use the new features. It's made working out for me a real chore and cause my personal trainer double work. Calls to corporate are responded with standard non-answer answers or directed to club personnel who have no more information on how to use the app that corporate. I pay a lot of money to belong to this gym and I'm very frustrated with this major change.

I asked 3 staff members for a purple resistance band that I couldn’t find. Nobody knew where it was.
But then came along a superhero named Raquel (she was 1 of the 3).
She came back 45 minutes after I asked her about this resistance band. She was in between her training customers, she dropped it off, she told me it was in the corner in a different room nobody could have seen it.
Thanks so much for making my gym experience worth the price. Raquel went above board!

Also with it being the most expensive level gym they don’t have a decent basketball to play with.

Maggie in the spa is hands down the best nail technician in the city. I have been following her for the past 10+ years when she changed salons- even when I stopped working downtown- because she truly is the best! Her regular manicures last for 2+ weeks (no joke), and when I see her every three weeks for my no chip, the only way you can tell it's not a fresh manicure is that there is outgrowth. Her pedicures are equally fantastic. If Maggie does your nails you'll forever wonder why polish doesn't stay when someone else does your manicure. My only hesitation in writing this review is that it will be harder to get an appointment when the word gets out!

At upward of $250/month and with a significant joiners fee, this gym is certainly not a budget friendly option. I would only recommend for the true fitness fanatic who plans to fully utilize the full range of equipment and class options. If you just want to lift and sauna, LA Fitness is the move.
Well appointed facilities for cardio, weight lifting, swim, functional fitness, and recovery. It’s often busy, but most of the clientele is genuinely focused on their workout and respectful.
The men’s locker room has complimentary towel service and a great sauna and steam setup. Only negative comment is the sauna bench seem to be broken on occasion and needs replacement or repair.

I was able to experience the gym for 3 months, here are my pros and cons and why i left.
Pros:
Open 24hr.
Huge perk. not to have to rush because you know you will never get kicked out. The competitors do not have this perk, i never used it bc i worked in the AM but it was nice to know i could.
Great fresh healthy food options in the cafeteria, great working space!
Cold pool!
Hot tub is clean.
Plenty of treadmills.
Heated parking.
Whole foods is convenient .
Cons:
Stretch. Area . Too small. Dirty Matt all the times
Spa area is not very peaceful, the crowed has a hard time not entering the area with proper attire, ( Please don't walk to a Spa area with shoes or anything other than your Towell ).
Why I left:
Poor interior design, specially lighting design, am I at a luxury gym or am I at a hospital.
Too expensive parking.
Bad quality shower towels.
Culture, crowed is very " College Bro "
Not worth 500 dollars a month ( monthly + parking ).
Note: this review takes in consideration the competitors in the city as well of other luxury gyms in San Francisco.

The people who put this gym together don't work out. There are 6 free weight benches in this gym and 10,000 treadmills. With my job I have to work out between 5-7 unfortunately. I usually need to wait 30+ minutes for each machine or bench. Today I got so frustrated that I just left. Meanwhile there are two classes around that time that take up half the gym and a very limited number of people participate creating more of a crowd everywhere else. I warm up on a treadmill most days and there has never been an less than 50 treadmills to choose from, but when you want to lift, good luck and expect long delays and people leaving weights on a bench for extended periods of time while they are off elsewhere. Lifetime says they care about customer service, prove it. I can't be the only one who made this complaint, and I will remove if they fix the issue.
PS They actually listened and fixed these issues. This gym is great.

Fantastic facilities, clean, and welcoming. The classes make this place worth the price. Anna Rose is a true class leader. Her charisma is so apparent and she deserves a raise. Eddie's AMP cycle on Saturday is just an experience everyone needs to have. Kurt will challenge you in the best ways and you'll leave grateful you took his Ultra Fit and GTX class. The only major drawback is too often, the mics and stereos are not working correctly. Management needs to do something about broken mics because I often feel bad for the instructors doing their best with what they are given.

HEADS UP NEW MEMBERS:
As a new member to this brand, coming from Equinox branches across the US.. my main painpoint of this gyms ( which there are quite a lot ) but, is the bathroom layout , when you come from the steamroom and sauna you need a new towell for showering ( or are you really expecting us to use ONE towell to touch the dirty steam room and sauna and then use it to dry our bodies after showering? ) but they place the long towells FAR from the shower area, so you have to walk back to the lockers to basically get a new towell for showring, im sure this was designed with purpose (to safe the use of towells) but this is incredible dumb. I
ALSO i am confident a prisioner in jail has thickest towells than this place, the towels are seriously AWFUL.
ALSO , Know you will be adding +150-200 $ more dollars into the memership for parking, so expect to pay 450$ per month for a crowded poorly design bro gym.
the working area is not really a working area because is a restaurant that is a sign outside that says you aren't allow to bring your own stuff to it, so it really feels not work friendly.
the front desk is usually nice and welcoming.
overall i wouldn't recommend this gym no someone looking for a luxurious experience, because it certainly doesn't feel like that. but if it is convenient for you location wise then sure go for it.
if they were to add long towels next to the showers, change the towells it self, improve the comunication towards steam room and sauna attire ( people are walking with full on cloth and shoes on to them ) , maybe i would change the value to 3.5/5 stars

I went on a tour recently, not impressed at all, the place was average and super expensive to say the least.
$279 per month plus $200 to start.. then parking is extra, if you want to use the pool you have to pay extra separately for the season and so on. This sounds like a rip off to be honest.. tons of better options out there. Also the staff made me wait more than 20mins and then I felt rushed to see the place.. at the end I asked for a brochure with the membership options and estimates so I could compare and think about it and I was told that there’s no such thing.
Other people have told me that what the paid was less.
A total waste of time and a rip off.

Coming from years of poor: management, maintenance, and cleanliness at LA Fitness clubs (incl. the Signature locs), as well as various other gyms around the city, decided to treat myself to an upgrade. This new Life Time location is located in a very accessible part of downtown. It’s not merely a “gym” but rather an athletic resort, as branded. High end finishes everywhere as you would expect, clean private showers, just abt all the latest equipment you could ever need, top notch amenities, and an attentive staff. Able to get some business work done from the café post-workout. Looking forward to lounging during the outdoor pool/bar season. 24 hours access too…very convenient. My main gripe is the parking is validated for ONLY 3hrs @ $5.75 currently; that’s plain stingy & inconsiderate. EBC & every other club offers much better parking options. Even Whole Foods gives 90 min free validation. They also need to add more mirrors, especially in the free weight area. Re: the membership pricing, yeah, it is probably the most expensive fitness club in the city, but it’s supply & demand; they’ll charge what the market is willing to pay, and some folks see add’l value in investing more in our health & fitness lifestyle. Time will tell if it’s worth it. So far, so good for the most part.💪🏾
UPDATE 11/8/23: The Chicago flagship location has def lost some of its luster since opening last Jan. Workout floor layout basically changes with the seasons it seems. LT Recovery equipment is never fully stocked and/or functional with Normatec sleeves & Hyperice equipment. The Hyperice nozzles have been broken for over 4 months now! The room generally feels neglected & I’m convinced no one on staff does daily equipment quality checks, which is insane to me. And I have to echo other reviews disgusted at the diminishing towel quality. It’s become the norm to have to sift through stacks of folded towels that are a mix of mid- to low-quality; many with suspicious stains & long hair strands 🤢 Management should train the staff to just toss those and buy new ones. Cost of business. The most expensive gym in the city with the nerve to recently spike membership rates for everyone incl. Founding Members, yet service levels & benefits are lacking. Pro tip: pls pay attention to the details like having the TVs set to logical programming throughout the day. Sometimes there are major live sporting events happening and the TVs are tuned to the Weather Channel 😑 Is it really that hard to run a more thoughtful operation? Or has mgmt just gotten complacent? I should probably drop a ⭐️

New layout is appalling. Anyone lifting dumbbells up to 45lbs, you get no mirrors. Be prepared to check the air for form. Workout area was perfect before they added the squat racks there. Layout lacks organization and was done by someone who does not workout at all. I think they need more squat racks, they should add more squat racks and remove all the weights, then add more squat racks. 68 squat racks seems like a good number. Tragic weight lifting area. Nice amenities and open 24 hours though.
Update: New layout is near perfect! Not sure why I raged above, I don’t even do them roids😂 Great gym, more equipment, less wait times, and lovely staff!

Your facility's trainers are excellent, and features like the cold plunge tubs are outstanding. I was initially drawn to the wide array of amenities, notably the large number of elliptical machines that ideally suited my cardio routine. However, the recent reconfiguration, which has considerably reduced these machines to enlarge the already ample weightlifting area, concerns me.
The new layout, which now leans towards more treadmills while reducing ellipticals, has placed the few remaining ellipticals near the exercise classes. The loud music from these classes often overpowers my own, lessening the quality of my workouts.
As someone who relies on elliptical machines for knee-related issues, I find this change disheartening. The logic behind such a significant alteration remains unclear, negatively impacting my experience. I would welcome management to introduce a more inclusive strategy in facility planning that considers the diverse needs of all users.

My first experience here was incredibly unpleasant. The manager, "Nate," threatened to call the police on us for what he deemed as excessive noise in the pool area, despite the fact that there was literally nobody else at the facility. It was around 1 am. His demeanor was consistently rude, and he displayed a negative attitude towards me and other guests from the moment we arrived until our departure. I strongly believe that a change in management is necessary.

This is one of the “top tier” clubs where you pay the highest membership dues. I go back and forth for work and go to this club and the palm beach Florida club. This club is disgusting - especially the locker room. There are always dirty towels around, floor is always wet, overall just not clean. The quality of the the towels is also much worse than other Lifetime Clubs. For what you pay I would expect this lifetime to be more in line with the palm beach club with the cleanliness and amenities. It’s definitely not. Really makes me appreciate the outstanding job the lifetime Palm beach club does after coming here.

I second Ana's review down below - Yoga studio 1 and sometimes 2 too consistently carries an unpleasant smell; especially when doing group floor workouts, I bend down and can really smell everything. Also on hot yoga, members are supposed to sweat but for individuals that sweat like a waterfall, please please educate them on cleaning up after themselves and creating space from other members as one time, I was so grossed out by a member who sweat through the floor (not kidding he was dripping down 1 bottle of sweat).
Another item is the recovery room area - it started off great, but now has deteriorated to broken/not-charged theraguns and back massagers, missing 3rd pair of normatec boots, etc. On normatec, members NEED to be educated on any time longer than 30m (and oftentimes 20m) is not helpful, hence should not be occupying the boots for 1h. People occasionally bring kids into the gym/recovery room too and for everyone's safety, the little ones should not be allowed in those area except in the toddler drop off area.
Last thing, can't speak for men's but for women's locker room the staff is working very hard props to them. But the shower and floor are perpetually dirty. I agree with one other reviews that members of the gym should be educated on how not to wear outside sneakers into the wet sauna/pool area. I walked bare feet a couple times and needed to re-rinse everything as it's truly gross with lots of hair and dirt.

This newly added location in Chicago, belonging to the Lifetime brand, is truly exceptional. The gym floor's vast expanse is impressive and magnificent, featuring all the standard Lifetime sections and more. Additionally, there's an indoor and outdoor pool available for an extra fee, and the club remains open 24 hours in Gold Coast Chicago. The views from both the gym floor and the pool are splendid. Conveniently, there's a Whole Foods store on the ground floor, making it a comprehensive facility.
However, there are some drawbacks. During weekend mornings, the gym floor can get incredibly crowded, often dominated by college groups or unknown gatherings, which can be bothersome for those trying to use the machines and bars.
While they offer amenities like a cold plunge, sauna, and steam room, there's a need for better signage to educate members about proper behavior, such as not leaving towels everywhere. Furthermore, it's important for members to rinse or shower before using the hot tub or cold plunge, as wearing underwear or sweat-soaked sport shorts can introduce unwanted elements into the water. This practice can compromise the water quality, potentially remaining unchanged for an extended period of time.

Beautiful Lifetime location, but an absolute mad house during the evening rush. The facility is immaculate and clean, with a great selection of machines and equipment. The big drawback was how busy it was at 5pm, so busy that I found myself waiting for most machines (especially a free weight bench).
Note: Photos taken were at 6am.
I visited this club while in town and enjoyed training here, but would highly suggest going in the morning or later into the evening. 5-6pm was not fun.

Let me start by saying everyone who works here is super nice and good at what they do. Brad the manager is also a great dude, however the new rule about not being able to keep playing after 8 oclock on Monday and Wednesday’s makes no sense. 1. Hardly ever are their family’s trying to play at 8 pm. 2. With this new rule that’s only 11 hours available all week to play full court games… alot of guys join this gym specifically for the court and chance to play real games. I have accepted pickle ball, that makes sense to me, but please make it make sense. There are way more than 11 hours available for families to use it besides the open run days. A lot of guys are really fed up about this and considering switching gyms. I will gladly remove this review if this gets resolved. Also, when I bought my membership I wasn’t informed about time cut offs for open runs, and nobody told me the pool wasn’t included in my membership fee… pretty disappointing.

I’ve been a member at this Life Time since opening and have frequented many throughout the area. Over the past year this gym has been instrumental in revitalizing my physical fitness and overall health and well being. The pros of this fitness center are many, and any negative experience I have had has 1) been typical of any other gym/fitness center and 2) when brought to the attention of management addressed in a very timely and decisive manner.
Others have thoroughly listed the extensive amenities offered and at times pointed out flaws. Speaking for my experience, the management team under DJ has directly and personally availed themself to discuss and address any issue I have had that was brought to their attention.
Having attended other similarly priced gyms in the area as well as NYC, this is an easy 5 star rating. The equipment, the staff commitment to cleanliness, exceptional and ample group fitness offerings/classes, 24/7/365 availability, LifeCafe and LifeSpa amenities, and weather permitting the pool deck all are impeccable offerings.

There's no doubt that this gym is absolutely stunning and the location is convenient, there's a Whole Foods and coffee shop right downstairs. However, what I love the most about this location is my personal trainer Wes. If you want to get in shape quick and want someone to challenge you with strength training Wes is the best. He is very motivating and wants to see his clients exceed their fitness goals. I have had trainers in the past who were always tired or bored...not Wes. He keeps workouts very fun and engaging which keeps me motivated! If you love squatting, deadlifting, or any type of strength training activity he is the best. The food is great at this location and you can't go wrong with the massages at the spa. I can't wait to check out the outdoor pool in the summer!

I joined this gym back in September 2022 and I absolutely LOVE IT!. I feel like I have given myself the best treat every time I come here. I have been working out 3-4 x/week since September and at all times during the day and even when it is somewhat busy there is still never a long wait for any machine. The membership price keeps the riff raff out and also keeps it from being so busy.
The staff are all so friendly and the amenities are amazing. I can't wait to hang out at the pool this summer. The recovery area is incredible and can't wait to try out all the spa services. I have gotten my haircut here twice now and love Aszure's cuts. She is the best and I am picky about my hair.
I would have loved to have given this a 5 star rating but my only negative comment is that I wish the food and the coffee in the cafe tasted better and that there was a bigger menu. I have tried almost every entry and most everything is kind of tasteless, in my opinion, even the coffee doesn't taste great. The only thing on the menu that I think is good are the breakfast sandwiches and the sushi. But often times they are not serving the sushi so that is frustrating. As with the rest of the gym the cafe staff are so great. Hoping to see an improvement in the cafe food though!
I use the cafe a lot and spend a lot of money there. I often work from the cafe for several hours so really wish it was better.

Douglas is a world-class trainer. I’ve had 6 personal trainers over the last 7 years. Douglas is the best personal trainer I’ve ever had because he’s dynamic, educated, effective at communicating and produces results.
His dynamic style to personal training makes every workout fun. He takes into account your goals and programs workouts to hit your goals and have a blast at the same time.
Douglas is incredibly knowledgeable about exercise science (lifting, power lifting, body building, conditioning, etc), sleep, nutrition, and if you ask a question, he usually has read a scientific article about the topic and provides so much insight.
He is exceptionally talented in building his clients up verbally before, during, and after the workouts. He inspires me to be the best version of myself.
Last but not least, I’m seeing results fast. His guidance in all areas of wellness works. I feel confident in my own skin again. It’s been years! I’m thankful to work with him!

I joined Lifetime this week and overall I would describe my experience as Disappointing and will likely not continue with membership. The facility is beautiful and has so much potential. However, the actual gym layout itself and insufficient amount of benching for free weights is the real issue for a gym this large and crowded, even off peak hours. It is nearly impossible to workout arms or chest here, due to only 6 benches, half of which arent even placed in front of a mirror just looking out into a walkway (it’s so awkwardly placed). This would be such an easy solve by adding more benching and free weights along a wall with mirrors, in lieu of the unnecessary amount of cardio equipment (everyone is crammed into one small area of the gym and plenty of space elsewhere). Overall this makes working out here stressful, frustrating and wildly dysfunctional).

Was very unimpressed with this location. Cramped lifting area, only a few bench presses, a cramped basketball court. After speaking to other members inside, we all agreed Oakbrook is better. Was a member at east bank club for a while, I switched once I moved. Work has brought me back DT, for the price LT RiverNorth charges, EBC is cheaper and 10x better and packed with more amenities. One good thing, at least this location supplies basketballs unlike Oakbrook. We pay entirely too much to not have basketballs at that location.

The gym is beautiful and has a ton of amenities to offer. However, I found it all to be a bit bougie overall. The kids club area is top notch and the staff is excellent. The actual weight lifting and cardio area is pretty standard equipment and the layout of the weights area is a bit cramped. If you are looking for a lifters gym then this is probably not the gym for you, especially considering the 220 a month base price tag. It's also a bit ridiculous that you still have to pay 6 dollars for parking even after validation.

Updated from 2 stars to 1. Someone from Lifetime replied to my review asking me to contact them directly, but left no contact information. So I emailed the general manager and received no response. It was apparent they didn’t actually care. The real icing on the cake was when we went to buy the pool passes and the cost was 3x what they told us it would be when we signed up. I’ve since canceled my membership as well as everyone I met when I first joined has left.
Been going to the new Lifetime for a month now. The space is spread out which is nice, never feels crowded, but maybe that’s just because there aren’t a lot of members yet. Open 24 hrs which is a huge plus. Recovery room is amazing with hydro massage beds, massage guns and other equipment. Locker room offers steam room, sauna, hot tub and cold plunge. The hot tub isn’t hot enough and the jets are weak…I overhear everyone complaining about this…hoping they can fix it. Staff keeps the facility very clean which is appreciated. I’ve belonged to several gyms across the city over the years and this is one of the cleanest (however it is new, so hoping it stays this way). Front desk staff is friendly and welcoming. Management doesn’t seem to care to retain members. I tried inquiring about pricing prior to the club opening, impossible to get an answer, total sales pitch. I came in week of opening and of course then missed the founder pricing and they said they would see what they could do and didn’t follow up. Never got a full tour when signing up. Wasn’t told about credit card processing fee upfront…any gym I’ve ever been to, the flat rate is what I’ve been charged on my credit card. I was told by the manager that it’s the credit card company who charges this…really?? yeah that’s the cost places have of doing business…either build it into the price or tell customers upfront you’re gonna pass the cost along to them. Parking is too expensive…even xsport which costs $9.95 a month gives you 90 mins free parking. I’ve been charged incorrectly in the garage several times…when mentioned to management, was told they’ve been working out some kinks and it shouldn’t happen again…no concern to offer looking into the charges or credit me. At the lifeclinic they have cards at front desk with offer for complimentary first visit…yet I was charged a discounted rate for first visit…not the same thing. Everything feels like a scam. Overall I gave 2 stars because it is too expensive for what you get. The space is beautiful but that only goes so far. I’d consider going back to Equinox or Midtown Athletic.

If you are looking for somewhere to get a fresh haircut or color look no further. I’ve been getting my cuts and color by David at the Life Spa and have never had healthier, fresher looking hair in my life. David has taught me things about my hair that no other stylist i’ve been to has. He also really looks out for my best interest and always has great recommendations. I would definitely highly recommend David and the Life Spa for anyone in Chicago area looking for a great service and expertise.

Not a real lifetime….no racquet sports and no climbing wall and separate fee for the outdoor pool…very disappointed after my tour

Excellent gym. We joined at the founder's signature rate, which is a bit of a discount from the regular rate, and includes the rooftop pool. All in, $229 for 1, and $329 for couple. To us, that is a great deal, and let me explain why.
Gyms in the area (e.g., FFC) don't have the selection of classes we want. And membership still costs a decent amount ($200 for couple). So, we end up taking various supplemental classes, or doing private instruction. Private instruction is $120 a class. So even taking 3 or 4 times a month, you now have a $400 bill.
Instead, at Life Time, you have Alpha (two variations), GTX, and Ultra included. On top of the regular classes. But wait, that is not all. They also have a ton of other classes, and at all times of the day.
I like 9 am classes. FFC does not have those. They have 6 or 6:30 am classes, but that is too early for me. I can't exercise if I don't get 8 hours of sleep, and going to bed at 9 am is not practical for me.
I have been to life time 14 times since it opened, and each time I took either an Alpha or GTX. Conservatively, say, those are half as effective as training with a private instructor. That means $850 worth of value. In reality, I am able to take 5-6 of those hard classes a week, and I can see the improvement.
I wish they had a pilates unlimited included, which would make this an even more awesome deal. Say, pay $200 a month, and take unlimited pilates.
I will literally won't leave the gym.
I think this is a great value, if you are looking for a specific value.
On top of that, they have:
- dry sauna,
- steam room,
- cold plunge pool,
- warm plunge pool,
- recovery room (pressure things for legs, hydro massage, and hyper ice things),
- spa.
Plus, in the summer you get the rooftop (if you got the founding deal), and the fun begins.

Aileen was my esthetician and I am so happy with the work she did and how kind she was! My face still feels so smooth and looks amazing. I had to wear makeup later in the evening and it went on flawlessly after the facial. 10/10 recommend Aileen. Thanks so much girl!
Allan was my massage therapist and I have never had a massage as perfect as that one. I will honestly never go back to any other massage therapist again. The technique was something that hit all of my muscles instead of an all over rub that honestly doesn’t do much and doesn’t have results that last very long. I saw him about a week ago and I can’t wait to go back! Please do yourself a favor and see him immediately!

I really like this gym..... I've worked out at Lifetime gyms in Texas and Colorado.... Tyis gym in Chicago is by far the best. Very clean, nice showers. There are regular heads and rainfall heads on the top of the shower....definitely a luxury experience.
