Bummer what happened with this gym. If youβre looking for a new spot, Iβve had a great experience with HIIT classes at Atlas Performance down the street (Milwaukee and California). Atlas is partnered with CrossFit Logan as well, for those that want to try that out.

This gym was ok but it's super shady that they just closed down unexpectedly due to an eviction enforced by the sheriff. There are no other gyms around. Luckily there's a great Pilates studio just down the block so you can still get a good workout. If you were a member of this gym check out Logan Square Pilates and Core. Honestly they have some awesome instructors. That's where I'll be going from now on.

UPDATE: this place has suddenly and unexpectedly closed. Eviction notices all over the door. There's a phone number listed, but no one answered. Incredibly sad to lose my beloved neighborhood gym! Everyone who worked there was nice, but it seems the owner was a real piece of work. He failed to pay rent and then disappeared. If you're in my situation (purchased an annual membership in advance), call your credit card company and dispute the charge. They're working on a partial refund for me for the months of service lost.
I love this little gym. Everyone who works there is super nice. It's never too crowded - seems to hit that sweet spot between ritzy overpriced gyms and cheapo bargain gyms where the people who come there do so because they're serious about working out. I never have to wait for a squat rack, and everyone lets everyone else do their own thing. Plus, the location is great!

It's always clean and usually easy to get on the machines you need. The classes are great as well - kickboxing was my favorite!

I love this neighborhood gym. It is big enough as to find all you need, without the corporate feeling of monster gyms like LA Fitness or XSport etc. The membership is affordable and the fitness classes are included. It also has two more branches in Lakeview (Southport) and Wicker Park.

Cool Gym. It can get a little crowded during peak hours, but it's in a convenient location and has decent equipment.

Small gym that doesn't get too crowded and has enough equipment to get your workout done even when busy.

Good simple gym, although the music is always on, and sometimes annoying. Can be a bit loud and crowded, but nice during of hours. Recently added a second squat cage, which is a big improvement.

Been with the gym for about 8 months and been very happy enough with my membership to renew. The price is reasonable - usually around 30/month during a promotion.
Pros:
Locker rooms are nice
A lot of machines
Barbell power-lifting equipment
Staff is great
Clientele is pretty chill
Cons:
(7/15/2017) *Now two squat racks!* Only one squat rack
Gets BUSY during peak hours
Music is loud and annoying, but this doesn't bother me - headphones easily drown it out
I gave it five stars so you can tell the cons are not bad at all

Small, but convenient. Some equipment is a bit limited, but it'll get the job done if your needs are simple.

Can't beat the price! And the location is super convenient! Still pretty small, though, and therefore gets crowded easily. I generally only go early in the morning (between 6am-8am)

Great place to work out. If you go in the morning, is not too crowded. However, space in general is a little cramped, but they have a good selection of equipment and the staff is friendly!

Towel service, clean showers, newer equipment and plenty of treadmills. Downside is peak after work hours and very small group class room - both offset by affordable and newness for Chicago cost of living.

This gym is low key but the workout classes are always packed because the room is super small - if you like to do a lot of mat workouts this isn't a good place because when theres a class in session there's nowhere to lay a mat. Aside from that - its cheap and the staff is really nice.

Perfect no-frills gym. Inexpensive membership fees. Lots of equipment, never had to wait for a machine. Basic locker rooms with showers. Free classes offered daily. Locations in Southport and Wicker Park.

Two years ago I bought a one way ticket to GAINZville in the form of a membership to Logan's best steel sanctuary. My friends all call me the beekeeper now because I'm so swollen it looks like my muscles were ravaged by angry bees.
The pros:
-Friendly and helpful staff.
-Clean environment.
-Obviously cool and supportive members of all levels.
-Best place to skip leg day.
-Price is right so I can still afford to eat my weight in Whey protein everyday.
The cons:
-I'm so jacked after my workout that the stairs are getting too narrow for me to climb down when I'm on my way home.
-The music isn't played loud enough. I need to be able to hear the tunes over the screams of my biceps on arm day AKA: everyday.

The workout classes here are great! Small room, but it gets the job done. Kelly's class is the best :) Staff is super friendly, locker room is always really clean. My one suggestion would be to buy a few more sets of 8, 10 and 12 pound weights, because sometimes we would run out for class. I would definitely recommend this gym to a friend... also, being able to utilize Wicker Park Fitness as well is a huge plus!

I've been a member of wicker park fitness for some time now. I was so excited that Logan square fitness(the sister of my gym) opened because it's MUCH closer to my house. Logan square fitness is undeniably nicer than the wicker location. all of the machines are brand new, it doesn't smell bad, and the bathrooms are so nice. all of the staff is super nice, and about the space issue, Dana, I always use the space near the captains chair and elliptical (there's ample space to spread out) I haven't taken a class here yet, but I'd really like to. I definitely recommend this gym! :)

I recently joined this gym because it's so close to my apartment it would be stupid not to. Super convenient location aside, this gym treats it's women members horribly! First things first, the room for classes is TINY and alarmingly understocked AKA no 5 lb weights (inexcusable that they weren't there on the day the gym opened), no blocks or props for yoga classes. They don't even have a place for their yoga mats! They are just in a pile on the floor, making them unnecessarily dirty and unappealing to use. There is also no place to stretch and I constantly see people struggling to find little corners of the space to stretch. I know it's a small and new gym, but come on! These things are obviously NOT OK and seem to be particularly inconvenient to people of the female variety. I will continue to go here because, as I mentioned, it's super close (they also make you pay the yearly fee up front so there's that), BUT if I were a woman considering joining this gym now I would definitely wait until better facilities for all members were made available.
