I started taking classes here randomly at the beginning, but the more classes I took, the more I learned. All the teachers are wonderful and highly professional. From their profiles, it’s clear they are accomplished ballerinas with impressive careers as both dancers and instructors.

What I appreciate most is that they treat adult students with the same care, respect, and attention as the young dancers. They teach us beautiful, correct ballet technique and help us truly understand alignment and how to engage the right muscles. Their corrections and feedback have helped me refine my ballet skills so much.

I used to feel very nervous about my poor flexibility since I started ballet as an adult, but the teachers here have always supported me right where I am. They’ve shown me the correct techniques and proper training methods, and with their help, I’ve become more confident in class and continue improving.

The environment here is very friendly and welcoming. Everyone in the classes is supportive, and it creates such a positive atmosphere. I highly recommend taking classes here and you’ll also find that there are many class options available.

What an amazing week it has been with the adult intermediate-advanced intensive series at Northshore School of Dance. We learned romantic, classical, neoclassical and modern ballet techniques. Significantly learned you could utilize all different forms in choreography.

Soren is such a talented dancer and teacher. I always pick up so many things from him to improve my own skills!
Looking forward to further classes.

I just wanted to take a moment to congratulate and thank you all for another beautiful performance yesterday. My daughter isn't a dancer, but we've been coming to your performances as one of our favorite holiday traditions since she was 5 and she's now 11. Your production values get better every year and it's so special to have this incredible, intimate and affordable option to see the Nutcracker. The skill and passion throughout every aspect of this production are apparent, your ticketing is user-friendly and everything is very well organized.
While I never have a dancer in your shows, I always tear up a few times thinking of all the hard work and training that goes into each performance. There is something so powerful about the way you tell this lovely story through music and dance. Thank you for all you do for promoting fine arts in the Northshore; it is much appreciated!! My teenage daughter has been dancing at NSSD since she was 4 years old. She has learned so much... not just how to dance. She has learned discipline, camaraderie, teamwork and self confidence. North Shore nurtures young girls and is a wonderful place to dance.

Miss Brooke is amazing! My 3 year old has taken two of her classes in the pre-dance program and she looks forward to them all week. My daughter is also a very wild kid, and Miss Brooke is so patient and kind with her. We love North Shore School of Dance!

My daughter has attended dance classes at NSSD since preschool (she is now a senior in high school). This dance school has been a second home for her. The teachers are professional dancers and my daughter has had a wonderful experience. She now plans to major in dance in college!

Very bad experience, I went in for adult ballet class. Which their website says drop in welcome. But after I changed my clothes and shoes, they told me tat it will be canceled since I am the only one showed up. Their website says nothing about possible cancellation nor anything about minimum number of students. This is a total waste of my time. Not to mention they only showed me the restroom for changing because the “changing room has kids belongings “

I have been taking adult ballet classes at the North Shore School of Dance for more than 25 years and could not recommend their adult classes more highly. I started dancing at 40, and though my technique has improved (and occasionally backslid) over the last two and a half decades, the instructors at NSSD (who I now also consider my friends!) have always found a way to support and challenge me and my fellow adult dancers with professionalism, diplomacy, and a genuine interest in us both as dancers and as people. Adult ballet has healed my back problems and has been a major factor in helping me recover from various other physical insults of aging, but even more than that, the adult classes at NSSD continue to offer adult dancers of whatever age, skill or experience the opportunity to move beautifully to music in a supportive and positive environment. These classes are jewels.

Great place to learn to dance. Everybody is welcome and accepted. An atmosphere that is non judgemental. Teachers are thorough and meticulous and at the same time fun and inspiring.
