I came to NWBA as an adult male beginner several years ago. I appreciated the welcoming environment, and continue to enjoy the physical and mental challenges.

Love this studio, both as an adult dancer and as the parent of a younger dancer. The teachers are incredibly knowledgeable and encouraging, and the studio community as a whole is incredibly supportive. So glad I found this studio!

You will not find better training in the northwest suburbs. The faculty is excellent, all of whom danced (or are still dancing) professionally.

An addendum to my original post. Besides the excellent faculty, the operation and administration of the studio are outstanding.

NWBA is THE place to go for adult ballet in the Chicago suburbs. I have tried several studios and none even come close to the rigor that NWBA offers. If you start as a true adult beginner, expect to be in the adult beginner class for the unforeseen future, because you are expected to build your foundation like a true ballet student should. But if you truly are more advanced, they offer several adult classes at higher levels, too. This not only creates class environments where dancers are more or less on the same level, but also provides inspiration and room to grow.

Lots of corrections from extremely skilled and personable instructors. I drive far to come here- it is worth it. The prices are comparable if not cheaper to other studios offering adult dance, too!

My daughter has been attending classes at NWBA for a few years now and we could not be happier. Lori, the director, is wonderful, professional and passionate about her work. The teachers take the children’s improvement seriously and work hard to produce growth and skill. The annual spring recital is impressive and truly a demonstration of their commitment to excellence.

We recently had the pleasure of receiving information and a tour, along with a sample class from Northwest Ballet Academy. We were extremely impressed by their professionalism both on the dance floor and from 'the office'. You could tell that the kids (around kindergarten age) were really enjoying the class. They not only used professional terms and poses but they also found ways to make it understandable and relatable to the kids. One big thing that stood out to me about the class my kid took, was that they had two instructors who worked very well together both providing examples before and during their execution, along with providing positive feedback to the students in the moment.

My daughter has been going here since she was 5 years old. They do a great job of teaching younger children technique and responsibility needed for ballet. Their Spring concert is a great experience for dancers as well. I would highly recommend this company

I got NWBA reference from a fellow mom who has been taking her daughter to ballet lessons in her area over 10 years when I asked her for the best ballet classes in Schaumburg area and she was right. My 6 year old girl started her ballet session with NWBA in last fall and finished her recital in May. She loved the whole experience, made friends and her dancing skills improved. Lori (owner) is fantastic person and entrepreneur and have answered my thousand questions patiently and personally. Everything like Regular classes, recital details, costume rehearsals, etc. was planned and communicated perfectly and in detail.I will recommend these classes to all families.

Northwest Ballet Academy is a gem of a studio. Lori Baduria, the owner, is an incredibly professional, hard-working, and kind person who is passionate about dance. She has created a friendly, warm, and open environment for dancers of all levels, abilities, backgrounds, ages, and body types. After a 25 year break from ballet, I started at Northwest Ballet Academy a year ago and have found a truly unique and special family of kind, supportive, & friendly adult dancers and teachers. The spring recital blew my entire family away and it convinced my five year old son to start ballet this summer. He took class with Lori as a complete beginner to ballet and he loves it. He is already signed up for the fall and is asking me when classes start. Thank you Northwest Ballet Academy and Lori! We are so lucky to have you!

Fantastic ballet studio with great teachers. My daughter has been going here since 7 and always looks forward to her lessons. There is definitely a sense of family at this studio that you see with especially with the older dancers. At the end of the year they put on amazing performances that everyone from the youngest students to high school level and adult dancers get to be a part of. Its something that we as parents look forward to every year.

My daughter started at NWBA when she was 7 years old. She is 13 now, and loves her teachers, her dance friends, and the studio. The level of ballet and other dance instruction, amazing teachers, highly professional dance recitals, not to mention the famous Nutcracker - NWBA offers all these experiences, unparalleled for a suburban dance studio. Ballet, Pointe, Character, Modern, Jazz classes are offered for kids and adults, as well as a separate Cecchetti ballet curriculum, not seen in many other studios. The dance studio is family owned, the new owner Lori is a kind, thoughtful, professional leader and mentor to the kids. Our entire family has been participating in the recitals as well, from volunteering to being on stage. NWBA is a big part of our lives, and we highly recommend it.

One if the best dance studios I have ever danced at! The staff are excellent teachers, mentors and bring out the best in the students! It is diverse both in age range, population and sizes and everyone feels welcome! It is one of the only places that actually has good adult classes where adults are given feedback, corrections and can actually dance!

I have attended performances of Northwest Ballet Academy for the past 13 years and have always been impressed by the level of their students' technical proficiency and the shows' production value. I grew up dancing myself in studios that did not focus on fundamentals or basic class discipline, and the difference is remarkable in what a dancer of even 8 or 9 years old looks like by comparison. This academy sets students up for success, both on the dance floor and in life, in their expectations for each student to take a vested interest in their dance education. I'm very excited to have my own child starting lessons this summer and look forward to watching her growth during the program!

My daughter loves her classes here! I love that you get to watch the first and last class of the semester to see where your child starts and how much they've progressed. Her teacher did an amazing job of teaching her while simultaneously managing a group of young (3 and 4 year old) students. Solid instruction (I'm a former dance instructor), comfortable environment, and a fun experience. Great job!

We are so grateful for having found Northwest Ballet Academy!! The atmosphere is definitely true family owned, comes across as humble, and teaches teamwork. We quickly picked up on their openness & community feel, which has been beyond refreshing.

We left another studio roughly 5+ months ago because of the overly competitiveness (yes tryouts at the 5 year old level), seemed to be more interested in your pocketbook & social status versus true artform, consistently had incidents of lacking younger child oversight, and overall snobby atmosphere and poor/ disrespectful & disengaged management.

Northwest is everything but that! Their Director, Lori B. is involved every step of the way. The staff teachers are also great! We had our 2 younger daughters in the most recent Spring production....yes production, not your typical recital. And we were blown away! Our daughters were so excited for the experience and we were even more proud to see the level of skill at even the 4 year old and 6 year old level.

The studio took COVID restrictions seriously and exercised extra, just in case precaution even after the mask mandate lift, which we also appreciated very much.

We are excited for many more years with NWBA and can't wait for summer session!

I started taking ballet classes here this summer and I will definitely be returning for the fall. I’m 21 and I haven’t danced since middle school. I was nervous to start back up but I’m so glad I did! I feel like I have improved in just a few months. NWBA has a lot of teen and adult classes to choose from and everyone is very kind!!

I learned that it’s just not a “pretty dance” I learned as a parent by talking my daughter to Northwest that ballet is so much more. Antonella has learned confidence, discipline, punctuality and really strives to be good in dancer.

Great teachers and great students. Adult classes start at fundamentals and go up to advanced for those who have the background and facility. Be prepared to work and have fun. They truly educate and focus on doing things the right way every time to prevent injuries and increase flexibility and skills. Classes are educational and fun.

I have two daughters age 7 and 11. They both started to take classes at Northwest Ballet Academy when they were aged 5 years. The instructors are very nice and give students age-appropriate instructions which help kids to understand and improve their skills. My daughters are looking forward to going to lessons every time and very happy to learn new movements! In addition to ballet classes, my older one are now taking jazz, modern, and character, and Cecchetti classes and those new dances classes gave her more passion on dance. My daughters have been learning discipline and balancing school and dance lessons and other activities. I highly recommend this ballet studio!

My daughter has been a student at Northwest Ballet for over 12 years. Unlike those fancy and expensive dance studios that focus on competitive dance, NW Ballet is a small, family-owned, dance studio that provides quality ballet instruction from ages 3 to adult. NW Ballet also offers jazz, modern, and character, with several performance opportunities throughout the year. In addition to ballet/dance lesson, my daughter also learned the valuable lesson about discipline, hard work, and school/life balance here at NW Ballet. The instructors have many years of experience in professional dancing and dance instruction. Other studios will start dancers on pointe at the age of 10, regardless of their ability. Here at NW Ballet, they will monitor the growth and development of your dancer and assess when she is physically ready to go on pointe. In the long run, this will avoid injury and protect your dancer's knees, feet, and ankles. They care about you not just as a dancer, but like family. My daughter will be graduating in two years and is already talking about missing everyone here at NW Ballet.

It is evident that the quality of ballet instruction they teach at NW Ballet is top-notch. My daughter has auditioned and been accepted to the summer intensive programs at some of the well-known dance companies in the country, such as: The Joffrey Ballet, Ballet West, and Cincinnati Ballet. Additionally, her friends at NW Ballet have been accepted to Alonzo Lines, The Alvin Ailey School, and Ballet Met just to name a few. This just goes to show that Northwest Ballet is an excellent dance studio that can stack up against the competition. I highly recommend it.

I started classes here in January as an adult student with very little prior experience (just a couple of ballet classes as a kid). This studio has everything I was looking for - classes for adults that actually teach technique and help you progress, multiple classes per week, and the opportunity to perform. In just 6 months there, I have had the opportunity to work with numerous teachers who have helped me develop my skills as a dancer, AND I got to perform in a recital. Everyone who came to see the show commented on how professional the students were and what a high-quality performance the studio puts on. This studio offers classes for children as young as 3 and is also one of the few studios in the area that offers Cecchetti classes. I had the opportunity to take a modern/jazz class in additional to ballet this summer, and I am amazed at how much my confidence has grown by doing something out of my comfort zone. Your child (or you!!) will be welcomed here and will learn so much! I highly recommend this studio!

The instructors are highly reputable and qualified, and also welcoming and inclusive of all. They push you to your highest potential. Whether you are looking for dance education for your child, or yourself as an adult, Northwest Ballet Academy is the BEST! You will feel at home there, and also receive high quality instruction.

We came to Northwest Ballet 5 years ago after trying a couple of others in the area. No comparison! The training at Northwest is fantastic. Professional teachers, disciplined environment (you can't be late for class or you can't take that day...love it!), and my daughter has achieved so much. Her dancing is great, her self confidence has blossomed, and she is progressing so fast. They fantastic performances that are so professional, not the typical shows where it you pay a whole bunch for a costume and then get a poor performance.
If you are looking for strong dance training, whether a child or an adult...I can't recommend NW Ballet more strongly. They are GREAT!
