The emergency department is just Trash! The nurses do not have a perfesional bedside manner at all. I had received a call that my adult son was given car and narcane and then was sedated. He became combative and scratched a nurse so they revoked his rights and could not have visitors. I was then told he was given a sedative to calm him down and he was sleeping. I told them I didn't need to hold his hand or speak to him but as a mother I would like to see him through a windows with my own eyes, just so I can see that my son was alive for myself. I was denied that and asked to leave the premises and walked out by 4 security workers. I did get loud and punched a wall but never violent towards the staff. They judged me by his behavior. It's not to much to let a mother visually see her child breathing regardless of age. I left and called the next morning to check on him and was hung up on. And this is why the Ed has a bad name and has earned the name kill em kish. Disrespectful and unprofessional

Got an email about $30 off. Looked all over website for pricing. Nothing, but asked me to send a message. I did. Realizing now, it was just to blow up my email. I went to Geneva, as a guest, for week. I looked all over website for pricing. NO membership fees posted... So, I call. I asked the woman on the phone to give me a base price. She said that she can not. That I have to speak to someone in memberships. I said, "For a basic price? Ok." Right in to voicemail I go.
I called back. I said, "I am working, I just need to know how much a basic membership is and you transferred me directly into a voicemail. That is absolutely unprofessional." Her response, "They are working too & will call you back."
Enough said. I will not jump over one more hurdle over basic info.
To be honest, I am happy I came to the reviews here and I will stick with my plan, now, to not join.
Thank you for saving me a bunch of hassles, frustrations and unprofessionalism. I would rather go to Geneva, which mind you, is stellar perfection, both facility and Staff.

People really like to monopolize weight machines in leg press(one and only). I asked if I could work in with the person using it. She said no,even though she rests 3 to 4 minutes between sets. This goes on for 20 minutes. Granted it was my last machine e of the day. I asked another time still no. So I talked to Dylan. He spoke to the member,in the end Dylan said I was being rude. Dylan states a member can use ANY machine for 30 minutes,without letting anyone work in with them. Dylan states "if the member does not feel comfortable alternating sets that's their right. I guess comfortable means rude in a roundabout way. Please read rules posted on east wall. Rule #5.

This is a gorgeous gym, and the staff is wonderful. I love the hot tub and the warm swimming pool, and the classes really bring even more value. It is pricer than say a Planet Fitness, but it has so many amenities that I always recommend it to my friends and family.

This is a beautiful, calming space for making great progress towards my health and fitness goals. Friendly atmosphere, friendly folk. You don't need to hide in your headphones or avoid eye contact; people are not in a furious hurry here. Also clean and meticulously kept community space. Sauna, spa, warming therapy pool. Well let me begin by saying I was a member at the Geneva location happily for around a year. I had to move unexpectedly to DeKalb and was excited to hear they had a location there as well. I got so comfortable with the Geneva location and the members were all super nice and awesome. I went for my first time to Dekalb location and of course a different layout to be expected. The free weights area seems very confined and congested and the overall layout I found definitely not as nice as Geneva. Seemed like a younger crowd too than Geneva for sure. The men's locker room with the steam room and showers and spa stuff was SO much nicer laid out in Geneva than Kishwaukee location it was integrated into the locker room there. Dekalb it's all separated and even in the hot tub and steam etc they say you must wear a bathing suit?! What's with that we are grown men why would u have to wear clothes in a hot tub in a locker room another negative about Dekalb location Geneva was super chill and relaxed and way classier nicer feel to it. That whole locker room comparison was the most disappointing in the entire experience. They need to take some pointers from Geneva 100%.

Bottom line if you never went to the Geneva location I'm sure it's amazing to everyone who goes there. :)

We did join this center based on the posts here 👍. It’s fantastic. It really is a place where 50+ aged folks finally feel welcome. A Quiet and serene environment that invites peaceful wellness. This is where other fitness centers fall short. Here There is no blaring music or TVs, yelling trainers or unmanaged kids running amok.

Space between equipment gives that private moment to work hard without feeling judged or endure other peoples sweat splashing on you (happen to me at more than once at other fitness outfits). NW makes taking care of yourself a pleasure instead of a burden. Keep up the good work.

So impressed from the moment I came in for my tour of this facility! I had no idea of this hidden DeKalb gem with state of the art equipment and all the amenities one could imagine. Stephanie Winter, Sales Lead and my tour guide was above and beyond AMAZING! She helped coordinate my membership to recieve over 100 off with membership AND private training. All classes are free and they have over 10 a day. I am so surprised how affordable it was and no long contract to get hooked into. HIGHLY RECOMMEND! Ask for Stephanie!

Wide variety of machines. Staff are very friendly I endly and knowledgeable. Upper level has the machines and a 3 lane track. One lane for walking one for jogging and one for running
Lower level has spinning rooms, the locker rooms and pool. Each side has a steam room and sauna as well as as hydrotherapy tubs. Place is very clean. Sanitizing wipes are supplied for cleaning the machines when you are finished using them.

I love this place! I mainly need a therapy pool but they have so much more to offer. I live in the sticks so a 25 minute drive to my happy place is worth it. This place is never crowded so I have access to everything. They offer classes and nutritional assistance. The best part though... NOOOOOOOOO KIDS! So go enjoy yourself without distractions. (YMCA is next door if you have kids 👍)... Still the best!

Been here for over a year and its always been kept clean and tidy. Gym is rarely filled to the point where you need to wait for equipment. All equipment is cleaned and ready to use, never had a bad experience here. Pre covid-19 the steamrooms and saunas were always well kept and ready to use at a moments notice. They scan your temperature every entry & require a mask to enter the building and common area. Many treadmills, pull and pull equipment, and benches. Also have the misc equipment such as kettlebells & free weight dumbbells up to 110 lbs i believe . Basketball court has a pickelball net and equipment & is well maintained and in good condition aswell. Not to mention the staff is very nice and welcoming. I've also been offered a spot by one of them aswell. Definitely worth the money you're paying to come here, even just for the simple workouts , its not like LA fitness where you have to wait for a bench and whatnot.
Edit: been here for over 2 years almost 3, and it's been wonderful. Only downside is that it gets busy here around 4/5pm, but the people aren't on the machine/bench for usually mire 30 minutes at a time.

So far so good, I really enjoy swimming in the plunge pool early morning and watching the sun come up. After a good workout I play some basketball. After a sauna and shower I can watch some ESPN while I cool down before I head to work. It's a great way to get my day started on the right foot.

The Wellness Center is an absolutely wonderful fitness center! They are clean, beautiful, state of the art, spacious, supportive, interactive, and caring. They have all of the exercise equipment one could ask for, one on one and group coaching, drop in classes, therapy and lap pools, a spa area, and a court. As a pro for me that could perhaps be a con for others, this center is for adults only. I appreciate the quiet and focused atmosphere, but it's understandable if others are looking for something more family inclusive. They do have a day care for very little ones though. I highly recommend checking out the Wellness Center though if you want to get serious about health and wellness.

A few bumps in the road as they get started: they've had a bit of trouble with the pool heaters but I expect that to be all on track soon. Otherwise, a wonderful experience. The therapy pool has been amazing for my arthritis and a lot less expensive that PT copays! Was magical to watch the first heavy snowfall of the season from the warmth of that warm water pool. (5 stars when there are no more missed swims due to the heater)

Had such high expectations for the new facility. Became a member over the summer well before the opening. At the time of my enrollment the sales team were not exactly sure what date the actual opening would be. But assured me that I would get an email and a letter notification of the opening. I received neither. Unaware that the facility has been open, I renewed my membership for this month at my current gym. I was told today by some random person that NW had infact opened. When I called to see if they would move my Nov. Paid membership to Dec. I was offered a refund. Molly the representative had no interest in keeping me as a member. Way to start out NW. Customer service is a Joke!!! I will chalk this up to being brand new. My advice to anyone thinking of joining, know they will tell you anything, expect little.
