This is the best Planet Fitness you will find. I used to drive an extra 15 minutes away from work and home just to come here because I liked it so much. It was worth the 30 minute drive home. There are 7 PF gyms closer to me but none of them are any good aside from Barrington. Most PF are too small, crowded, and have broken equipment. But not this one!

This gym is very clean, extremely well set up, very spacious, tons of room/benches by the dumbbell area, and more smith machines than any other gym will have. Most of the staff also works out here which is very apparent in how functionally well set up the gym floor is.

The staff is extremely friendly and create a very welcoming atmosphere for all the members whether new to the gym or life long lifters.

The manager is second to none. He always checks in on his guests and takes time to chat about our goals and to motivate us. Assuming he’s still there (I haven’t been since April or May).

I ended up canceling my membership after some corporate guy I had never seen before at the front desk was harassing me for not having this gym set as my home gym. I was forced to sign a physical sign in sheet where I had to put private information on a clipboard that anyone else signing in would be able to see (%100 no thank you). This sign in sheet even had me list my reason for visiting… obviously I’m here to workout… there was no reason for this and it had never been asked of me before or after this corporate tool decided he needed to justify his useless job. That one interaction really ruined how I see Planet Fitness, especially after I realized in the fine print that even black card members aren’t supposed to use non-home gyms more than 10 times a month…

So that was my wake up call to finally look into some regular commercial gyms that were closer to where I work and live. While I love the time I save working out closer to home now, I miss this gym and it’s very friendly staff every day :(

Been to this particular PF several times on Saturday mornings. It's in a good location and it's pretty clean and spacious. They have a decent amount of equipment here and I love the fact that Planet Fitness has pretty convenient hours of operation. I like the hydromassage bed. Feels good after a hard session of getting it in. I'm loving the fact that there are so many PF locations to choose from. That makes it so we have no excuses for us to get strong, healthy and sweaty 💪🏽

Change can be tough or in my case a very pleasant surprise. I came over from Anytime Fit. Easy sign up. Very important was a warm welcoming staff. LK and his staff should be recognized!!! Dirty, super small collect of free weights. No bench press at all. Only smith machines. This place would be good if you just wanted treadmills. There were different stations which didn't make sense to me. I would rather workout at home honestly. This place is meant for fitness people not for people who want to lift free weights. The locker room was rundown.

I've been to many planet fitness gyms around the area....this is by far the cleanest one around. They keep the facility clean, and you see the staff making the effort, wiping, dusting, scrubbing the floors. The washrooms are also very clean. There's no machines broken, I've been to other planet fitness gyms that the machines are broken for months. These guys do an excellent job keeping the gym clean and in working order.

I travel all over the country for work and I usually have my son with me. This is the first time I was asked to leave because he was with me. He plays on my iPad and minds his business. Doesn’t even say a word most the time and if it’s the policy for a kid not to come into a gym (which i see people all the time with kids in the gym) , then all PF gyms need to follow it, not just the one out of god knows how many we’ve been to.

This location is the best one I’ve ever been to. They are under new management and have been consistently working on improving the location. It’s one of the roomiest locations. The equipment is maintained well. (Of course things break in public gyms, and sometimes it takes time to get it fixed, but they let you know what the status is on repairs.) But the best thing is the personnel! They are always friendly and care about their members! If you need something or have an idea about how to make something better, just mention it to Lakendrick. He truly listens and will address your concerns. This gym is clean! Ralph, Erick and Rich are always on it! I’ve been a member of most of the gyms in the area at one time or another, and this one is my favorite by far. Love this gym!

Was there at 1-2:45am was 5 minutes in the treadmill, started feeling woozy and seeing double, checked my pockets to see if I had fast acting sugars but to no avail. this one takes the cake for dirtiest I've visited so far, Absolutely disgusting, It doesn't seem like they even care, I mentioned it to staff and they shrug it off. I may not use the tanning beds, but I feel bad for the members that do use the tanning beds as 3 out of I wanna say 5 were/are out of order, The massage chairs felt like they could use some upgrades, The only thing that I used that I felt was clean was the stair master and Hydrobeds. Definitely don't recommend coming to visit this location. Also, there was quite a bit of broken equipment

I was a little leery after some recent reviews but I found this PF staff very friendly, the facility clean and nothing I used was broken. There were also many and a variety of weight machines, you just had to walk past the rows of treadmills, bikes, and ellipticals. I liked how they had weight machines grouped by body part, abs, lower body, and upper body. I was visiting from out of town and will return again!

I have been working out at this location since june every day. Overall, the gym is fine, and the equipment is fine too, but if a machine is broken, they just leave it and not fix it.

In total there are three machines which have been broken for the past 2 months and when I complained to the management they said it would be fixed in 2 weeks that was 1 month ago. The manager chris doesn't seem to care about this issue.

I joined a couple of years ago, and this place was always so clean and all the machines were working well. Unfortunately in the last 6 months, it has changed management and the gym has taken a dive. The girls bathroom has a non-working sink that’s been broken for many months. As well as the soap dispensers. The girls bathroom isn’t as clean as it use to be. Sinks look dirty and floors and stall walls are dusting and dirty looking. There are a few machines that are broken (non working), a couple now for months. The floors in the gym use to look so clean, last 6 months, they look dirty and unswept. I’m so disappointed, but I still go there because its so close to my house. But as of today, I’ve been thinking of going elsewhere. It’s such a shame.

Going on my 3rd year here. Gym is kept clean and all employees are great. 2nd revised review. Last 5 months have had 1 rope after a review they bought 2 for 30 ropes. 1 lasted a week so back to 1. Now the other has lost the bump stop. Ask about them and same old run around. Clearly ownership likes to take your money but not put it back into gym. 1 curl bar as well. If you want to focus on cardio you're set here. If weight training is your thing join another gym where memberships matter. I'll be exploring other options now for training. It's too bad because it actually has nice people and very well kept clean. Cheap equipment doesn't last long and neither will memberships...

It was my first trip to the gym post-COVID. It didn't have that gross "gym" smell. Locker rooms were spacious and clean. I went around midnight, and although there wasn't a huge crowd, I was still surprised to see a decent number of people there. Chris is incredibly rude and yelled at me upon asking a question about masks. He came out from behind the counter to yell in my face and violated my personal space. While the place is clean and friendly staff, it lacks in fundamental weight equipment and instead replaced with God Awful limited machines. There is no bench press, no squats, no dead lifts.. The very iconic exercises recognized by generations upon generations. Instead there's smith machines and chest press machines and leg press machines... Nothing replaces free form. I would be embarrassed to call this a serious work out place.

Sure there are some good things about it and might work for some people but no one who is remotely serious would consider this place to train at.

Even the dumbbell rack, lack of any weight placement labels screams lack of knowledge about some basic level of organization and it seems like it was thrown together randomly by people who have never worked out.

Looking athe placement of machines also and they are broken down and spread. It's ridiculous. Some are properly in the same area and some are just randomly placed out of place.

The place lists itself as 24/7. It's not. They are closed on the weekends

Unfortunately you have to have a guardian or someone who is I think the age of 16+ to accompany you if your below that age which is sad because im 14 and went to this PF constantly and the employees recognize me. I worked out with my older brother but now he’s in college and can’t come I just want to workout and get strong for wrestling and in general but unfortunately I can’t anymore and I’m not dumb I researched for the best workouts and everything I’m really happy to workout and it’s motivating. But I can’t because not to long ago I went by myself to do chest day as soon as I get on the treadmill to run I get kicked out in 1 minute and I can’t do anything about it and all the other gyms are very very expensive :/

Actually the gym is fine especially for the price but they have serious problem with management.
This guy Chris was being really unhelpful last time I tried to come in with my son. I’m black card member so that means I should be able to bring guest any time and just like I did several times before.
He told me that my son needs to have scanner code on his phone that would come from my phone.
Obviously this was a new rule since before we only needed to give them just phone number.Problem was that my son didn’t have a phone with him so I asked the guy to let as in this time and next time we will do the code thing.
But he didn’t want to hear it..he kept saying that is the rules and we can’t use the gym.Argument got little heated and I do regret that part but manager Chris didn’t do nothing to take care of situation he only made it worse!!
I canceled my membership right there and then .. I just think that any company don’t need this kind of people in their ranks especially management.

Can't beat the price, but the marketing of a judgement free zone is laughable. I've heard the lunk alarm go off a few times since I've been going (less than a month). I don't know if it was for me or another patron. Needless to say, in either case I felt very judged.

RE: I have no interest in reaching out to local management. I'm just pointing out the hypocrisy of saying it's a judgement free zone while you provide a way to publicly shame people if you don't like how they're acting. That's just a way to ensure a judgemental environment.

Place is great has everything you need to get a good workout. But I'm a OTR DRIVER. This the only facility that doesn't proved body wash on the showers. So I couldn't take a shower. I travel all over the US and never have I seen that.

This is a great gym, especially for beginners. They have a lot of good equipment for a variety of exercises, all for a reasonable price. Staff are pretty friendly and do a good job of keeping the place clean. Their model is to create a welcoming environment, to the point where slamming weights and grunting aren't allowed. Do what you will with this. My biggest issue is the lack of a legit squat rack and bench press, the only have the rail system.
