I really like this Gym. It's only a 5-minute bus ride from my house, the facilities are well-kept & the staff there are really nice.
I only have 2-complaints & it's more about my fellow gym goers...
There needs to be some sort of time limit Or-
FRIENDLY REMINDER SIGN POSTED
By the Weight bars that it's not a lounge area, you shouldn't hog the area by sitting there- scrolling on your phone & doing a set-every
10-minutes... I've seen people take 45-minutes to 1- hour on those bars & it's ridiculous.
My 2nd point is. I saw this guy have a towel on 1-machine, while working on another & he got an attitude when I tried to use a 3rd machine. He literally told me not to remove the bar, he's using that machine. 🤯

A few years ago, I gave this gym 5 stars, Im now giving it 2 stars! It's June 2025 90+ degrees heat, and no air conditioning. I understand things break down, but it's been well over a week! I attempted working out anyway but came down with prickly heat..been calling every day to see if the air is repaired. C'mon guys, how long does it take!

I have visited quite a few Planet Fitness Clubs in the city of Chicago; My home gym is on 108th & Doty Road; in my opinion, this is a better organized layout of equipment and specialty rooms. It's big and better lit than some of the others. I've enjoyed the facility on 83rd & Stewart and also the one located in Hyde Park; the members are encouraging and very friendly with each other. That's always nice.

Staff is very nice, it's clean and everyone is very helpful. I actually don't workout, I come here for the tanning bed. I restart my membership every spring (except last year). It's up the street from my house which makes it convenient to go in the morning. The issue i have is that the tanning bed will break, due to power outage or whatever and it will take them months to get it fixed. This to me is ridiculous. When it broke a couple years ago it took over a year for them to replace it. Once replaced i thought it was OK to restart membership. I tanned ONE time and the power outage caused it to break and it's now been over a month to be repaired. This makes no sense and while I understand this machine is a perk of the club I still pay for it and have now paid around $40 for one tan. Plus, I have to go in there to cancel membership. Can get that online but can't cancel it online???

MACHINES ARE ALWAYS DOWN, AND WHY ARE THE TVS NOT WORKING? There was a storm over a month ago. Why is it they still don’t have any tvs on or called the cable people. This new management internally isn’t the best.

There is a constant issue at this location. The staff are always wishy washy about policies, the facility itself especially the bathrooms are kept up barely and then the recently they said they had a power outage, have pplbstanding outside waiting to get in looking at the power on but they wouldn't open the doors til 330. We can clearly see the lights and fans on why are the doors still locked for 20mins. On top of that cable ropes have been missing for over 2 weeks why is there only one set of ropes

I love my planet fitness in the Pullman area and i feel safe going there! The staff is very friendly and always making sure there are plenty of cleaning supplies. It's never crowded when i go so i can get a good workout. I'm glad to be back!

The issues at this Planet Fitness location are glaring. There is no real enforcement of gym etiquette or equipment usage limits. People train for hours at a time and camp out on the equipment, especially on the weight bars — of which there are only four. Many just sit on the bars scrolling on their phones, making it impossible for others to get a turn.

There should absolutely be a 30-minute time limit on the bars and better management to ensure fair use of the equipment. Unfortunately, the staff does nothing to address the problem.

It’s incredibly frustrating and not worth the membership. I’ll be cancelling.

THIS IS THE WORST GYM EVER! A place you go to relieve stress shouldn’t stress you out. I had an incident today with a an employee over some shoes…yes shoes. She came up to me while I was in the middle of running on the treadmill to “inform” me that I couldn’t were my shoes. The shoes I was wearing were ‘vibram 5-finger V-Souls’ which my orthopedic doctor specifically recommend I wear due to me experiencing injury and pain in certain joints and nerves. I was immediately put-off because not only did it just not make sense but I have been wearing them there for some time and also to other gyms without any complaints. This frustrated me because this employee has wrongfully addressed “concerns” with me prior to this and has even apologized for not being correct or factual before. When I asked her to tell me what the dress code policy was she refused and said I should change my shoes or leave. This rude response and faux professionalism irritated me so I suggested she call she cops, reason being I wanted a 3rd party mediator to explain to me the issue properly. The employee called the police and I sat there waiting; as I waited another employee showed me a picture of the policy and it said verbatim “no open-toe shoes or barefoot allowed. The shoes I was wearing were neither(look them up). I’ve been a member at this gym for 3 years and it hasn’t always been the best experience but I’ve remained loyal due to it being tolerable and the closest to home. I’ve had no issues with former employees as they’ve always been pleasant and responded to issues accordingly. Aside from this, this gym plays lewd and indecent music i’m guessing in attempt to appeal to its majority minority (Black/Latinx) population. There equipment is less than satisfactory if it actually works. Wait time for the machines are insane during 5-9pm hours. Never cleaned properly from locker room to machines. Weights and never racked and employees are negligent of that. Do yourself a favor and look else where for an actually decent fitness experience.

This location was my primary location while working in the area. Parking can be challenging first thing in the morning. I appreciate that they have a Total Body Enhancement. The locker room is huge and well-laid out. The free weights area is really cramped which leads to limited availability. I really enjoyed the music played here. I visited as a guest on 10/5/2024. My wallet was stolen, and all money removed. The place was full of shady looking characters, Men and women with lurking eyes. I do not recommend this place for anybody new. The Front desk seems to be very aloof when it comes to crime or people walking around because when my wallet was returned, they seem extremely disconnected to what happened.

Rude front desk staff!!!
There were two women at the front desk when I walked in. We greeted each other but after I scanned I started to walk off. This was my first time at this location and as I was looking around, one of the women called my name and loudly said we need you to update some information on your profile. I need your phone number and a picture needs to be taken. I gave my number but asked if I could hold off on the picture. Honestly, it was a rough day and I didn’t want it captured on my profile. The woman said loudly no either you take the picture or leave. So I said I’ll leave and she shrugged and said ok.
I’ve been to the 47th, 83rd, 95TH, & 118th locations multiple times and never encountered the rudeness I did today.
This was my first time at the location and honestly I would never come back.

This gym has been here quite some time before it got a lot of traction the last few years & they finally got equipment upgrade they badly needed maybe 2-4 years ago. I don’t frequent it due to it being smaller. I look at it as a planet fitness “Express” gym. Perfect when you’re crunched for time & need to squeeze in activity. Like I said it’s very small & gets crowded with a lot of people there feeding their egos more than their muscles taking too long on weight stations, or the utterly prowling men for women lol. So it’s best for cardio. But their treadmills are on the slimmer+shorter side compared to other locations. Staff is always awesome. Love that it’s so accessible as far as location & travel time
