This has been by far my favorite Planet Fitness to go to. The gym floor is very spacious, the employees have mostly always been friendly and helpful, and although they’re currently undergoing construction, they’ve kept the locker rooms open and moved the equipment so it’s still possible to get a solid workout in. The Cicero location could learn a thing or two from this location

I give it 2 stars. We were looking to join a healthclub and decided not to join this one. Gus, was very polite and friendly, but another employee, a female in all black looking at her cell phone would not acknowledge or greet us while Gus was busy with another customer, Gus said he could not show us the machines and that they do not show you how to use them. We asked about a specific machine and he said we would have to look for it ourselves.

This gym wasn't great to begin with, but now that it's under construction it's been completely neglected. Stuff that they want to still keeping service like the hand towels and the cable machines are broken. And they don't much to start with because of the construction.

If you like broken equipment, working out in a construction zone, and having your gym flooded with teenagers every summer then this is the gym for you! PF offers free student gym passes every summer, staff does nothing to monitor as these kids who flood the gym, treating it like a playground and breaking equipment. Construction started 3 weeks ago, cutting the gym in half with all the equipment crammed into half the room. Drywall particles and construction dust floating around. All if this for your normal full-price membership because PF doesn’t care about devaluing your experience. Management is apathetic to feedback since that’s the PF way.

Nice, big, and clean gym, but seriously lacking in customer service. I joined this past week and received no explanation of membership benefits or gym protocols especially regarding amenities like tanning and the hydro massage chairs. When I asked team members for help, they either smiled, said "I don't know," or acted like I was bothering them for even asking.
I briefly spoke with the Assistant General Manager, and instead of asking what I needed help with, he simply said, “Oh, we’ll do better next time.” Not exactly reassuring.

If you're a beginner or someone who appreciates a bit of guidance when joining a new gym, this might not be the best fit. There’s essentially no support or orientation offered.

Lately people take 2 or 3 sets of dumbbells and hoard them then don't put them back. There are dumbbells all over the gym but never where theyre supposed to be. Free weight area is a joke. Never enough weights and not enough benches, you have to share with those on the smith machines. I almost never get a chance to do my workouts that require a bench because theyre so hard to come by. Stair masters are always inop as well. I go to this gym because it's close to me and affordable but the disorganization and crowds has me looking for other gyms in the area.

This day I went to the gym like I do every day, unfortunately the person on duty did not let my guest in, he said he could not come in and I met the requirements and from the first day my guest has accompanied me and I never had any problem, we waited 1 hour from 6 in the morning until 7 without the person telling us that he would help us with anything, terrible service .. the gym is not free for a membership every month with my black card, it seemed disrespectful to me that I come at 6 in the morning and they do not let me in every day we come at the same time and I ask, I have never had a problem .. this happened 08/04/25 6 am shift

I always exercised every morning without fail, simce I was 13 yeats old , in the privacy of my home....until I became homeless. Plnet fitmess is always there for you, no maatter what your needs. So there was a gus there curly hair with alot of grey in it, saying I couldn't use my black card privileges... He saw the russian on my arm and asked if i was for ukraine and i said thats none of his business and he said i cant use the gym.... Updated today 6/12/2025, I’ve talked to the new manager and he did assure me that they are working on reminding and doing floor runs to take care of the overcrowding, play fighting, of teenagers on the floor. He was very attentive and pleasant to talk too. Thanks for hearing me out. As far as the teenagers, I’m not against them. It’s a good thing they offer free membership to them. It keeps them active and probably out of trouble. I guess they just need to be more aware. Thanks again Planet Fitness for addressing the issue. 5 stars for sure. This was yesterdays review 6/11/2025 ,, Overrun by teenagers now and they work out in a group of 3-5 holding whatever work out machine hostage for hours while they play fight and be on their phones, and not even working out. The staff does nothing about it even though they’re signs that say not to work out in groups holding that machine for a long time. Been a member for over 13 years and it’s a shame what my favorite planet fitness has become. So sad.

Well, it's a good gym to start. I met very good people who helped me train and the receptionists are very good people, but the problem of the gym is that there are many people, the truth is that they last too long with the machines and there is also not much security, what is in the part of the car parking lot currently during these days there have been many thefts and broken windows in the cars in the gym parking lot, and I would like to ask you to put more lighting and security cameras to avoid these problems

Response TO owner: I'm pretty sure the girl I spoke to both times is a manager. While she was sweet and seemingly understanding it s clearly ineffective. Been in this gym for 2 years. Not sure why I have to complain when anyone with sight can see ppl playing. The 30 minute circuit has a sign that says its being regularly monitored yet im wondering what are they monitoring for because it isn't for the training thats supposed to be going on in there.

Honestly by far the Worst gym. When my billing cycle ends, I will be ending my membership. I've told the staff repeatedly about guys playing on their phones rather than working out and they do nothing. I rather see someone recording themselves working out than someone playing on the phone because at least one is making use of the machine. Been here an hour and haven't broken a sweat because i have to watch ppl play on their phones.

I have been coming to this gym for years, a year ago only Saturday mornings. Since the pandemic started the gym is a mess, dirty, and always crowded. But what it bother me the most are the people who goes there, they take for ever using the equipment. Some people think the gym belongs to them and take more than 30 minutes in one place doing their exercise routine. Others are in the phone 🙄 I have been patient and waiting but they just don’t move. And when I asked them if the are done they said no I’m still working on it 🙄 done with this gym.

My friend and I wanted to check out the gym's equipment which it would have taken about 5 minutes maybe; but the little girl with rings all over her face wanted us to do some paper work first before we even take a tour of the gym. Been going to this gym since 2021 and it used to be great but over the last 2 years or so the machines seem to always be under maintenance (specifically the stair masters). They only have 6 stair masters and they seem to be very popular so majority of the time they’re taken - especially with 2 always being out of order for maintenance issues. The stair masters are getting so old they make noises and the plastic on the stairs seems to be cracked in many of them. I’m not sure why they don’t get new ones and add additional ones if they’re so popular. I have a black card membership and use the massage chairs sometimes. I’ve noticed that the massage chairs are not well maintained either. Most of them vary in massage intensity even if I use the same setting on them every time. I’m not sure if I will continue a black card membership here. There has been no resolution to these ongoing issues and no new equipment even though multiple members have complained about the same things. I wonder what they do with our monthly membership fees because they definitely don’t use any of that money to maintain and get new equipment at this location.

Me and my friend just decided to check out the Planet Fitness. Upon exntrance Tania was very helpful after helping me set up my guest pass my friend and i walked around the gym and we decided to go to a different location , due to construction being done and the machines we needed were being used. As we were leaving we saw tania and her coworker looking at us and pointed at my friend and I, we had assumed we left something because we saw them pointing and staring we didnt think much of it but as we got into the car they were just staring out the window at us. we looked around and noticed nobody else was around us , so we went back because we didn’t know what was going on. We went inside and respectfully asked, “if there was an issue”, the coworker girl started to say “ I don’t know is there, you’re not the only person in the world” with the nastest attitude while holding her fist in her hands. if or there was an issue, the staff should’ve addressed us instead of staring at us while we got into our car. and if there wasn’t an issue, why did she give hostile answer as if she wanted to provoke something? Nonetheless, Tanya was very lovely thank you for all your help. Your coworker should learn some customer seevice tips from you.

The Vibes in this place are abysmal.

Bro put up some spacers... Someone on the treadmill does not need to see literally everyone in the gym and vice-versa.

Also the staff aren't empowered to do anything. One time the only water fountain in the building broke and that was it for water.

They don’t let you in if you’re wearing certain shoes or brands. Ridiculous for a cheap dirty gym. The bathrooms are always filthy and the showers have mold. They break into lockers all the time to steal our stuff like it happened to me. DONT COME TO THIS LOCATION. The staff are rude and the gym violates the law by blocking member’s freedom of expression.
