This location is one of the worst-managed gyms I’ve ever encountered. The toilets and showers are filthy, the lockers are dirty, and equipment is constantly strewn across the floor with zero effort to maintain order.

It is bad enough that the facility is neglected, but the overnight staff—Christian and Sam—seem completely disengaged and uninterested in doing their jobs. Their lack of accountability and unwillingness to maintain even the most basic standards of cleanliness or safety is unacceptable.

Yes, Planet Fitness is a budget gym, but that does not excuse an environment this unsanitary and poorly run. Members deserve a clean, safe, and organized space to work out. Right now, this location fails on all counts.

Until there is a major turnaround in staff oversight and facility maintenance, this gym is not worth anyone’s time or money.

Someone keeps stealing my items and I’m suspecting the employees. Weird Right? Well I’ve been a member at this gym for a couple of years now and it started with a sweater. I had just got this beautiful sweater and didn’t even get a chance to wear it. I put the item in my locker and someone stole it before I could finish my workout. I asked the employees but they couldn’t help since, no cameras in the locker room. Fast forward, I bought me a lock which is why I’m suspecting the employees cos someone stole my stuff while it was locked up. Weeks before this occurred I noticed the employees consistently cleaning next to my belongings (like they were checking out my items). I didn’t worry since I had a lock and these are very expensive quality items. Let me remind you, I workout almost everyday different times so it was a little creepy how they hovered over me watching my every move. I’m at the point where I want to switch gyms cos the aggressiveness is coming off very obsessive. Just wanted to give a heads up. Times are hard for everyone these days so whoever stole my items can keep them. No Biggie!

Planet fitness Diversey & California has great equipment for all levels & peaceful calm place to work out especially near 12-2pm. I had been to other bigger gyms & they seem to be very run down stuff always broke & swim areas always out of order an soloud an noisey. Since working out at planet fitness I enjoyed my work outs more & never seen any broke equipment or out of order signs no where. O, a huge plus is there are individuals private dressing rooms so your not just getting naked an dressed in front of others Lastly it's very clean & has working ac & hot water no cold showers here, compared to other places .. Highly recommend.

There's free weights here, with a barbell and squat platform! Also want to thank the staff and specifically Carlos for helping. Someone slapped a lock on the locker I was using with my stuff in it (maybe a prank?) Carlos came to the rescue and got my stuff. Amazing weights and amazing staff!

They gym is pretty great, I love the vibe and the many machines there is to use. My complaint is that there's been alot of break in is alot of people's cars in the left parking lot. On 8/22 I counted 4 shattered glass windows. It really makes it hard wanting to work out thinking my car will be broken into. Maybe add fake obvious cameras to deter them from doing it.

Who is the new girl, not only did I feel like she was being a bit forward with personal questions the new girl insisted on informing me about the gym rules when I’ve been here for four months. Not a single issue was ever had with any other employee until now. My concern is she will learn to speak to customers that way but also just wanted to let people know that not all the staff treats us the same anymore which was the reason I picked this one out of all the PFs.

Wow I’m extremely hurt by the customer service at this location. I was met by a rude light skin female worker with a bad attitude as soon as I walked in. For some reason she seemed to have a problem with signing us in with our phone numbers even though a phone was broken. She seemed to have a problem with wearing crocs and told us we had to leave and even threatened to take away our membership and call the cops when we tried to talk to her. It says judgement free everywhere when all they are doing is judging....very clean love that.....very crowded so always have to wait, do not love that......if you are strong they do not like that and do not want you to work out there....do not like that.....so good for a simple workout if you have a ton of time to wait for equipment. I'm very dissapointed at the costumer service at Planet Fitness(Logan square). Marcus(front desk)got upset because I did not have the planet fitness app downloaded on my device, something I have never experience at any of the planet fitness locations. I kindly asked to please check me in with my phone number and that was a problem... I don't understand why?? I've been a member for years and today happens to be the day I don't bring the device with the app. There's other ways to verify identity could've easily asked me for an ID if that was the case . This experience has unfortunately made me rethink my membership. I hope Planet Fitness improves its customer support and provides better training.

I enjoyed the red light therapy, massage chairs, and hydro beds. Also, Jack and Jennifer were always so refreshingly courteous. A problem that Michael, the manager, is having is that he goes into the women's locker room unannounced. I told him a couple of times that he needs to announce it twice: (1) at the entrance, and (2) at the restroom area, because you can't hear someone from the entrance. He still refuses to do it, and he doesn't ensure that his employees follow this procedure.

Very clean and enough open exercise in the mornings from 5 to 730am. However, they turn up the music too loud. Took off a star for that.

Update 3/16/25, 1:37 pm CST. Of course, I can go to the front desk and ask them to lower down the volume of the music. Now why didn't I think of that during my sweaty work-out and breaks in between sets (lol). Wondering if the gym will invest in a hip thrust machine in the future?

Update: May 25 2025. ASK AND YOU SHALL RECEIVE! Pf has some new fun equipment including 2 new squat platforms where those unused machines used to be in the 30 minute workout area! I cannot believe those have been added as well as 3rd smith machine, reorganization of weights, and list of other machine weights! Pf has now risen above LA Fitness (formerly xsport) at the Logan Square location due to being 24 hours open. I am so pumped to see these changes. Changed my 4 star rating to 5! There hasn't been any loud music either :).

Let me start out by saying i been to other Planet Fitness and there not as clean or well kept like this location. As soon as I walked in felt at peace and everyone of the staff was friendly and making sure to clean the sweat off the machines. I got a good workout 6:15am to 7:30am it was relaxing and overall a great first impression for me at the California & Shubert location. Definitely if in the area check them out but, keep in mind it is a smaller Planet Fitness than others. 🏃‍♂️✌🏼🏋‍♂️💪

Do not recommend this area. Your car will get broken into and the staff knows about it. They have no signs stating that their parking lot have a lot of thefts that happens and that parking in the lot is at your own risk. They are also aware that this incident occurs multiple times. I told the person up front that my car was broken into and he laughed and said a car had just gotten broken into on the other side of the parking lot 15minutes ago. I believe the staff working here has something to do with these break ins. They are literally doing nothing to stop this from happening. They write it down on a dry erase board and don’t keep record. I went to file a police report at the station and the desk officer mentioned that cars get broken into a lot in their parking lot specifically, not the street parking but the parking lot overall of this planet fitness. Definitely someone who works here, who is checking out all the customers that come in and observe what car that person drives. They have poor lighting in the parking lot as well.

Small and busy planet fitness location in Lake View. 3 total smith machines. There are no rubber bands or any kind of bands for stretching. All the treadmill was full during peak hours. Never seen something like that before.
They should shrink the parking lot so building itself can be bigger and have more workable space.

Be cautious if you consider canceling your membership at this location. I canceled mine on July 2 and even have text messages to my wife confirming the cancellation, but I continued to be charged. When I called to address this, I was told they don’t issue refunds, and that a manager would return my call, which never happened.

When I followed up, the manager was so rude and stated they only refund for 60 days but i have been billed since July. Despite my visit to the Logan Square location to cancel, they claimed to have no record of it. This feels like a scam. I do not recommend this gym.
