Been a member here since I was about 13. Just turned 26 a few months ago. Just want to give a huge shoutout to all the employees that currently work here or have worked here during that 2013-2026 time frame. I still remember when it used to be a Dominick’s as a kid. Best gym in the Northside of Chicago. The manager and every single employee really does put in work to make sure it is as high-quality as can be despite some low-quality individuals who were drawn to the fairly-priced membership that treat it like trash…

I like how they have all the machines I need to hit each body part rather then finding out how to do the free weight or cable versions of each. I find it really useful that this PF has alot of machines and the variety of the machines aswell. Sometimes shower don't work which is annoying but in terms of fitness equipment its really good. Parking lot has alot of cameras which is quite good too if your driving there.

Terrible experience at this Planet Fitness. Me and my friend both purchased the Black Card membership. My friend signed me in as his guest like the membership allows, and he stepped outside for a bit. While I was still working out, the staff came up and rudely told me to leave the gym just because the Black Card member (my friend) wasn’t inside at that moment. They were extremely unprofessional and disrespectful in the way they spoke to me, treating me like I didn’t belong there at all.
If I am signed in as a guest properly, I should be allowed to use the gym without being harassed or embarrassed. The whole point of the Black Card membership is to bring a guest! The staff clearly don’t understand their own policy or they simply choose to mistreat paying customers. Very disappointed and will never recommend this location.

I went in and it was very dirty. Members would use a machine and not wipe down. Weird smell in the gym and not a lot of equipment, atleast not the ones that i use and need. I've been a member at PF for a while but after going here i canceled my membership. Sucks that this and the Xsport/LA fitness down the road are the only gyms in the area. both are trash, members have no sense of cleanliness, respect or care for the equipment.

June 2025 review:
I kinda hope Planet Fitness purchases the property next door and expands. I've been going here for years, and recently, the machines were updated, and they do a great job keeping the place clean. However, it's so saturated all day every day. I haven't been able to go to certain machines or stretch because it's full all day every day. It's great that more people came after the upgrade, but I'm not really able to get my ideal workout in.

I do not recommend this Planet Fitness location. My car was broken into while I was at the gym, and when I asked if they had any security cameras in the parking lot, I was shocked to find out they don’t have any at all. For a business that serves so many people daily, especially in the early morning and late-night hours, that’s completely unacceptable. Members deserve to feel safe not just inside the gym, but in the parking lot as well.

I’m extremely disappointed with the lack of security at this Planet Fitness location. In just the past month, my car, my girlfriend’s car, and several others have been broken into while we were inside the gym. There are no security cameras in the parking lot and no staff monitoring the area. It’s clear that people are targeting gym goers here, waiting in the lot to break into cars. We don’t feel safe coming here anymore, and there’s been no action from management to address the issue. Until they take proper steps to protect their members like adding cameras and security patrols I can’t recommend this gym to anyone.

Just canceled my membership . Someone is literally watching you in the parking lot and smashing your window when u come outside ur window is smashed. Happened here a month ago to me. And just happened today on 5/1/2025 to my bf. and they don’t have cameras …. Becareful going here someone is still on the loose and will smash your window and take your belongings and police will not do anything ! Not gonna lie, planet fitness as a whole gets a lot of hate usually, but this one specific planet fitness gym actually is a top tier gym in my experience. All the new machines and equipment are more than enough for a newbie to grow and the staff is really chill. Staff is always happy to help out and just overall are a charming bunch. Again, the new machines really are what makes this gym shine as well, theyve got everything you need to grow from hack squat, machine flies, machine chest press, smith, etc etc. most planet fitnesses dont have this top notch stuff in my experience so if this is your local gym n you just wanna dip your toes into fitness, i recommend lincolnwood’s planet fitness. And this is coming from a guy who went from a 20lb bench to 180 for reps in 5 months solely from this gym!

PF Lincolnwood is clean and has a large selection of equipment to choose from. Definitely a nice gym if you're looking to get your workout on.

My only suggestion: management, turn off the news channels on the TVs. When I go to the gym, it is to shut the outside world off in order to focus on bettering myself. However, when I see all of the negativity being broadcast on these news channels, it brings me out of my wellness zone.

There was a short period of time several months ago where the cable was out. During this time, all the TVs were displaying nature/Atmosphere/fitness videos. THAT was perfect. I'd like to see those take the place of the news channels, please.

This gym sucks! Gym has been double charging my account every month since July despite the fact that I have called and informed them that my leg is broken!! I have called to speak with a manager multiple times and every time I call they say the manager is not there. No one knows anything or can do anything to help you. Clean, loaded with equipment, spacious, open 24 hours every weekday and 7:00am-7:00pm Saturday and Sunday. The 2 changes I would wish for are:
1. to open later on Saturday night - until 9:00pm
2. Don't close for 24 hours during holidays like Thanksgiving,
New Years or Christmas. Open for 4 hours so those of us who

This is the best Planet Fitness I’ve ever been to! All the machines work, and they actually function properly. I’ve been to six different Planet Fitness locations, and this one is by far the best. You won't believe it, but the most unique member of our local Planet Fitness is a half-woman, half-Garfield cat named Marigold. Yes, you read that right. Marigold, who worships the real Jesus, absolutely adores the eclectic mix of tunes that fills the air at this gym. Monday's.

From the moment she struts in, you can see her feline eyes light up when Meatloaf's "I Would Do Anything for Love" blasts through the speakers. She belts out every word with a passion that could bring a tear to even the most stoic gym-goer's eye. But the real magic happens when "What's New Pussycat?" by Tom Jones comes on. PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT:BEWARE YOUR PERSONAL DATA. DECEITFUL PRACTICE. I went to PF to look at the facility with the hope of joining. David presented me with an iPad telling me I had to sign a waiver to “set foot on a gym floor.” This would not have been a problem if he had had given me a waiver form, which is about risk mitigation. I started to fill the form and it asked for personal information including email, birthdate and phone. I asked what the info would be used for and he could not answer the question. And then proceeded to show me their privacy policy, which has nothing to do with a waiver. When I looked closer, I noticed the form was entitled, “guest registration.” I realized it wasn’t a waiver at all but a marketing ploy to get my information. The general manager, Stephen got involved. I asked to see the waiver language. He scrolled through their documents and was unable to produce a waiver form and handed me their data use policy. I stopped reading when I got to the part where they they monitor and collect individual use of the machines. THIS IS A DECEITFUL PRACTICE. While David clearly had no clue that registration and waivers are not the same, Stephen could not find waiver language, I.e., it does not exist for a facility tour. In this day and age of data breaches and ID fraud, it’s important to safeguard your personal data even if it means forgoing goods or services you need.

Hi i’ve been a member at this gym in lincolnwood for years i usually come in the morning and the staff is very friendly and helpful “ honest and respectful (DAVID “ DREW” LEONA MILLER)
Some time ago there started being issues with breaking in the mens locker room I had a multiple things stolen when I used the lock.including my $1200 Canada goose jacket in 2022 which was given by my wife on my birthday gift.it was locked up in the locker when it was stolen.
The stuff do they best but they couldn’t monitor the locker room and mens bathroom which is understandable’
I started only bringing my car keys in a pouch but I been worried about them being stolen also so management at this location told me to leave my keys up front behind the desk when ever I went. I have been doing this for a long time. On 9/26/2024 as I was leaving and saying bye to the staff who had kept my keys in a pouch the new manager (STEVEN)
Interrupt me said very rude & with a really bad attitude that i was not allowed to leave stuff with the staff. and said it was a safety issue and they could not be liable for my items,even though they require members to leave ID or keys with the staff at the desk when checking out equipment like the barbless pads
I explained the situation to (STEVEN) the new manager
I said I didn’t want any problems all I said I don’t want my keys to go stolen again. after explaining that previous management had been the one to encourage me to do this he began to argue and very bad attitude with me like this is not a gym he acted like this is a kindergarten and he is a teacher making his own bylaws and dismiss my concern
I ask him if there is a policy was in writing somewhere so I could reference it. He printed out my contract and highlighted a vague section about club rules which mentioned nothing about leaving belongings with the staff behind the desk.
He told me that I had to leave my items in the locker room if I don’t to carry them and to just report it if they got stolen like I said I been coming for years to this gym with no issues whatsoever. And many of my friends and family members they had the same issue with their manager (STEVEN) he is making his own bylaws. Reprimanding them for any small thing he doesn’t like with no reason or proof that it’s a corporate policy as he claims
Its so sad to have this kind of behavior from the manager.
One more thing to make sure that he is on safe side he complained on my planet fitness account that I threatened him that it’s going to cost him his job ( LYES) all I said i will make sure that I make a phone call to corporate office to make sure what policies are you talking is true. But unfortunately I can’t get a hold of it. And i am posting the picture of him complaining about the issue. I am really hoping that this issue will resolve quickly (M M ALI) member ship ID#979832108

They run out of paper towels so quickly at certain stations. They really should have more sanitary stations in specific areas that get the most traffic. It gets busy at certain times and people are ready to snipe your spot even if you've been waiting for a certain machine. Decent equipment but NOT ENOUGH equipment. People stand around for sometimes 10-20 minutes just waiting for a machine to free up because there are just simply not enough of them. Some people hog the machines. Me and another guy were waiting for several minutes for a smith machine to open up which they only have 4 of to do chest press and after waiting the guy using it took the entire bench with him and took-off to another section of the gym after clearly seeing us waiting there to use it. That’s only one instance out of others like that. You also have the issue of new people coming up to you right as you get the machine and then they’re stuck waiting there for you. Just an uncomfortable situation. Get More Equipment. Do better PF.

It's constantly dirty, mop heads aren't ever changed so every time they mop the place smells horribly rancid. The machines aren't maintained properly, the cables on every machine I've used are so full of slack. Once this month is over I'm out of here. Dear Mr. Planet, I've been to quite a few of you guys but this one has left such a bitter taste in my mouth that I don't believe I'll ever sign with you guys again. And I understand that I'm just a nobody customer who's easily replaced with another 30 people each day, but the owner of this one should care better. It's really tragic because I've been to some really really amazing planet Fitnesses in my time. Sad, just sad. Don't go here, go elsewhere.

You have to be lucky for finding a work out machine available.
I have been a member for 7 years, Jun comes and you are out of luck, most of the days I spend half the time & then Iam forced to leave the Gym, No machines available.

I joined the gym in January of this year. It was good. I've never been to a gym before very nice staff. Yesterday, I went after work. The gym was so packed because they are letting high schoolers go work out. I normally stay about an hour to an hour and a half. I stayed 30 mins yesterday because all the machines and areas were swarmed with kids. I don't mind if they go, but they should have a time they are allowed to not interrupt the regular paying gym goers. I believe I saw a sign saying they'll have access until the end of August. I wish I had gotten an email or a notification that this would happen. I might need to find another gym if that's how it's going to be all summer.
