The Puri Family YMCA is a 15,500 square foot facility that offers many of the same amenities as our existing YMCA locations. Our programs focus on healthy living, youth development and social responsibility. YMCA members have unlimited access to all of our facilities. Members with an upgraded $10/month membership can access this location overnight.

I like the table top games, and the game room. They have plenty of exercise machines too and a separate room for stretching or yoga when it's not being used for aerobics or martial arts classes.

Parking is closer to the building than the one by Sinnissippi Park. No pool, but I don't always go swimming anyway. They also have totally separate and private shower, sink and toilet combos for those that want to shower after their workout.

Having visited over 50 YMCA's, this is a nice average Y. It has 24 hour access that is a huge plus. Built in 2017, all the equipment is in very good shape. Small kids area and one inclusive aerobics studio that also has bikes for spin classes. No aquatic facilities, thus no pool, sauna, nor steam room. No formal locker rooms nor gymnasium. Six larger restrooms, each with a shower. Small free weight area with a couple racks and cable machine. Nice selection of cardiovascular equipment as well as exercise equipment. Clean and friendly staff.

I walked in gym and front desk lady was rude to me and treated me badly because I was national member and was pushing me to get their membership or she won’t let me in and when I refused that she start raising her voice on me and told me to leave or she will call the security . One of the worse experience someone can have and she was treating everyone else with disrespectful behavior

I like the setup of this YMCA in Rock Valley the best. Simple design and easy to find everything. Seating area outside of the group fitness room though is weird. Most people don't want to feel like they're in a fish bowl while working out and sweating off their butts.

I mostly visit the NE location and appreciate the friendly staff and workout facilities. Only problem I ever have is waiting for machines due to cellphone use. It seems more people are using fitness machines to check messages, sometimes up to 1/2 hour without actually using the machine, very annoying

Good gym. Nice employees and place to work out. Only down side I have found is that the free weight area gets really tight. It gets kinda hard to get through a work out at a good pace when you are waiting for a machine to free up; however, it's like this at a lot of smaller gyms.

Music blaring overhead is intrusive to the point that it interferes with listening to personal music on earbuds. Requested it be turned off and this seemed to be ignored. Why does every shared space require obnoxious noise without even the means to shut it out?

I have taken membership recently for my family in YMCA.. The PURI YMCA is good, especially the kids zone.. only one drawback is NO SWIMMING Pool.. if we like to do swimming we need to go to YMCA in Rockford Downtown or North east YMCA near East riverside Blvd..

My boyfriend and I went here to work out a little together and got a free pass to go one day. They take your IDs which was fine. We walked into the "gym" area. It was small and you didn't have much privacy (as in more of the same machines so you could space yourself). We could here everyone's music from the head phones and at one point a couple came in, brought a speaker with them and turned it up loud. Also, the whole time the guys were grunting whenever they'd lift weight. Most gyms ban that and I'm surprised this one didn't since its supposed to be family and kid friendly. I'm sure kids would be intimidated by the guys.

I love this location! The machines are more to what I am used to from past gyms and the daycare room is great. My 4 yr old enjoyed her time there while I worked out and staff are very friendly. The gym is one of the cleanest I've ever seen.

Awful music choice, they do not take member suggestions at all (I've tried many times), showers flood the bathrooms fully, ZERO cold water, they need someone with knowledge of fitness equipment and general understanding of where the industry is going. The only good part is that they are open 24hrs... Most days.
