LONGEVITY: We all want to live a long healthy life. I've been taking this class since it's inception in June and it's: improved my golf game (gaining 10-20 yards on shots), decreased my back pain and I no longer need to be embarrassed when I get up from the floor. If you are 60 plus, sign up; it will change your life!!!!!!!!!!

Highly recommend PXM. The team and supportive community culture is incredible. I have learned a lot and improved my health dramatically. Is it easy physically at first, no, but the structured classes, supportive team and community and close central location in the neighborhood made it easy for me stay more consistent going to the classes that I have anywhere else. Incredible job PXM team!

I have been working with Leah for about a year and a half now for personal training and it has changed my life. I am a person with a disability and I always had a lot of anxiety going to the gym, but Leah made me feel comfortable and confident, adapting anything I needed without a second thought. I am the strongest I have ever been in my life!

I am enjoying my classes with Joclyn and Chris. Longevity is geared to "older" athletes, people interested in maintaining and building stronger bodies. Each class is curated for the age group and features a warmup/stretch portion, a strength portion, and a whole body cardio workout. Both coaches are positive, fun, and full of helpful information. I benefit from suggestions and coaching and need all of this delivered in a motivating manner - I don't like people yelling at me, and neither Chris nor Joslyn do this. They are encouraging at all times, helping us achieve at the highest level possible.

Great atmosphere with amazing coaches and community. I started as a beginner with zero gym experience and have learned so much doing personal training and made great progress. All the equipment is great, clean and orderly but I think the best part about the environment is everyone is there train hard and be supportive.

I’ve been training one-on-one with Rob for over three years, and I actually followed him to PXM from a prior facility because of how comfortable and supported he always made me feel. At a time when the gym environment used to feel daunting to me, Rob helped build my confidence and made fitness something I genuinely look forward to. One of the biggest reasons I trust him so much is his ability to adapt training to whatever life throws my way, whether it’s an injury or a medical concern, he always finds a safe and effective way for me to keep progressing.

What I love most about PXM is how that same friendly, welcoming energy extends beyond just my interaction with Rob, the other owners and the entire coaching staff have created an incredibly positive atmosphere. Everyone takes the time to get to know you, cheer you on, and make you feel like a valued part of the community from the moment you walk in.

PXM isn’t just a CrossFit gym, it’s a space where people care about your progress, encourage your goals, and make you feel like you belong. I couldn’t recommend it more!

I’ve been working with Robert for a while now and it’s been awesome. Every session is different and really focused on overall athleticism — not just strength, but balance, mobility, and conditioning too. I can definitely feel the difference in how I move and perform.
Robert knows how to push me without overdoing it, and actually takes time to explain what we’re doing and why. It’s clear there’s a plan behind everything, and that makes it easy to stay motivated.

I’ve had a great experience training with Rob for the last year and a half. I wouldn’t have made anywhere near the amount of progress I have without him. He’s kind but pushes hard and holds me to a high standard, which is exactly what I want/need. Couldn’t recommend him enough! PXM is a well-run, clean gym with a good community. As long as you can handle a higher level of noise, it’s a great place to workout.

Been hitting up PXM Fitness in Edgewater for a few months now. Signed up for their Fundamentals package—$100 for 2 classes—and it was worth every penny. The coaches are top-notch, breaking down movements and pushing you to your limits. The gym's got that gritty, no-frills vibe, but the equipment is all top-tier Rogue gear. Only downside? Parking can be a bit tricky, but it's Chicago—what do you expect? Overall, if you're serious about leveling up your fitness game, PXM's the spot.

Great experience at PXM! Coaches helped me set goals and adjust the workouts to meet those goals. There are options to push yourself and compete, but the coaches really helped me target movements designed for me. In my first year here I have gotten pull ups, bar muscle ups, upped my endurance, all while staying uninjured and supported!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Absolutely Life-Changing Personal Training Experience!

I can't say enough good things about my experience at PXM—especially with my personal trainer, Robert. I've been working out consistently for years, but training with Robert has taken my fitness to a whole new level. Since starting with him, I’ve gained muscle, lost fat, and built confidence in ways I didn’t think were possible. And the most incredible part? My medical lab results have improved beyond what I ever expected—even for a condition I thought I was stuck with for life!

Robert is truly exceptional. He’s not just knowledgeable—he’s kind, funny, and deeply thoughtful about my unique needs, including a wrist injury and a chronic medical condition. He pushes me to my limits but always ensures I'm safe and never in pain. His approach is both strategic and motivating, making every session both effective and fun.

If you’re looking for real, measurable progress and a trainer who genuinely cares, email PXM now and ask for Robert! He has completely changed my outlook on fitness, and I can’t recommend him highly enough.

I’ve been going to PXM Fitness for a couple of years now, and I couldn’t be happier with my experience. The gym is always spotless and well-organized, making it a welcoming and comfortable space to work out. The equipment is well-maintained and easy to access, even during peak hours.
What really sets PXM apart is the incredible staff. Everyone is so friendly and approachable, and they genuinely care about helping you reach your fitness goals. The personal trainers are top-notch – knowledgeable, supportive, and great at tailoring workouts to individual needs. A special shoutout to my personal trainer, Robert, who I've been working with for the past 4 years. He's truly the best! Robert's history, expertise, dedication, and personalized approach have completely transformed my fitness journey. He knows exactly how to push me to my limits while keeping me motivated and focused on my goals. If you’re looking for a gym that combines cleanliness, a positive atmosphere, and a team that truly cares, PXM Fitness is the place to go. Highly recommend!

I train with Robert at PXM and he is a fantastic personal trainer and person. Robert has exceptional knowledge of nutrition, body mechanics, body building, and sport science. He programs towards your goals both short term and long term and cares deeply for his athletes. He works flexibly around your schedule and equipment availability, particularly during travel. He brings energy and positivity to every single session. Robert had helped me grow stronger, injury free.

I can’t say enough good things about this gym! I have been a member of 6 gyms, including PXM, in 3 states; NC, MD, and IL. PXM is by far the best. The coaches are kind, compassionate, knowledgeable, and professional. The owner, Senad, is a true professional and an amazing athlete. My wife and I both feel really lucky to be members of the gym. One last thing: CrossFit gets a bad rap because a lot of gyms have poor programming coupled with bad coaches. The programming at PXM is top-notch and the coaches know what they are doing. The coaches and the owner also care enough to ask you to take things back a notch if you are executing the movements unsafely or incorrectly. PXM is definitely my happy place.

PXM Fitness is and always has been a great place for anyone that is looking to start or restart their fitness journey. I first started here in 2018 and learned so much about the world of fitness and even how my own body works (after only having been a runner for most of my adult life). The coaches work to not only correct your form, but to educate you along the way. I took a break for 2 years to deal with some health issues, but returning to my fitness journey here felt like a warm embrace from an old friend and I knew I could rebuild here.

After being a member for more than ten years, I can say yes, PXM is a great place to learn/grow with crossfit. The group class coaching keeps us motivated and safe.

What I have also learned is it is a great place to getting personal coaching for non-HIIT training.

For the past 1+ years I have been working with coach Robert on building upper body muscle, supporting my cranky knee, and keeping an eye on nutrition. He has a low-key style with a heavy mix of accountability and creativity that works well for me.

Coach Robert is helping me to recognize that copious amounts of sweat, soreness and fatigue are not necessarily signs of an effective workout.

All in all, one can't go wrong with the mix of group and personal coaching that PXM brings.

I started at PXM without knowing much of anything beyond wanting to try crossfit.

1. PXM is an amazing place.
2. I can see why people love crossfit and become addicted to it
3. The orientation for new folks is great and brings you up to speed for whatever your speed is.
4. Speaking of that. Every workout and movement has options for people with different goals and abilities. That's pretty cool.
5. The coaches are amazing humans. Helpful, motivating, fun.
6. It's a wonderful community and you'll find great people in addition to the fitness goals you are looking for.

At PXM I finally found a place that is the perfect balance of small group personalized training, a great flexible class schedule that works with my insane schedule, and a supportive environment to keep me encouraged!! I had a lot of concerns going in because of constant back pain from scoliosis. The onboarding process and individualized care, meant that all my concerns were taken into account and an approach was created just for me. Every trainer in the group classes knew my needs, and gave adjustments to make sure the session worked for my body. So if you're looking for incredible value for money, this is the place to go!! Being able to basically get a "personal training" quality workout 5 times a week is unbelievable!

I joined PXM a few months ago and it is hands down the best gym I've ever been to. Each class I learn something new about myself and my capabilities. It's mostly Crossfit-adjacent group classes, but they also offer olympic lifting, personal training, weekend community workouts (a Saturday morning class with Coach Chris is fantastic way to kickoff your weekend / cap off your week), and other small group sessions. I was admittedly worried about going to a Crossfit type gym, they come with a certain reputation, but I look forward to going to the gym frequently and consistently. The culture at the gym is really fantastic, my classmates (and coaches) are encouraging and helpful, and everyone wants to help you do your best given your abilities. It's impossible not to make friends at PXM.

Additionally, I came to the gym with a lingering "knee" issue, but with a combination of physical therapy and a lot of individualized attention from the coaches, I'm feeling the best I've felt in years. Senad, one of the owners was extremely helpful at encouraging me to continue to move throughout my recovery. With a lot of support, I was able to continue moving throughout my recovery and I think this helped accelerate my overall recovery timeline. Coach Leah and Coach Matt we really helpful (and incredibly patient with the million questions I asked) in helping me find movements that were supportive and didn't cause pain while still working towards the goal of a specific class.

All the coaches are really great at modifying workouts to ensure you are working towards the prescribed movements without risking injury. Most classes offer two tracks, each with modifications, that are designed for folks who either want to do more traditional Crossfit movements and another for folks who are seeking more traditional fitness movements or are working towards being able to do the Crossfit movements.

The gym has a general wellness focus, so you can also sign up for nutrition counseling, meal prep kits, massage, etc. I recently signed up for nutrition coaching with Melissa, and I'm learning a lot everyday about what my body needs to fuel itself. If you are looking for a welcoming, inclusive, and fun place to workout, I can't recommend PXM enough.

I've been going to PXM for about a year and a half now! I came in as a distance runner with very little weight training experience (and no crossfit experience). I've learned SO much through the classes & coaches! I feel more confident in and out of the gym.

A few things I love about this gym:
- scaling options for everyone at all fitness leves.
- they focus on teaching proper form -- whether you're experienced with lifting/cf or not!
- everyone is there to cheer each other on.
- crossfit style workouts can be intense but I love the challenge and have become a much stronger athlete on all fronts (including running!)

I've also been working with Robert Prevatt for the past few months on nutrition! I came in with ~some~ knowledge on the topic but working with a professional is what really helped FINALLY start hitting my goals! In addition to the acountability aspect of working with nutriton coach, Robert was super knowedgeable and easy to work with. I feel substaintially stronger, leaner, and healthier thanks to Robert's coaching.

Overall, I highly reccomend this gym & it's coaches!

If you're considering joining PXM, I know that it has a higher price than a nation-wide cookie-cutter gym BUT the value is truly there if you have the budget for it. The coaches care and want you to succeed. My gym membership is an investment in my physical health, mental health, and overall longevity (:

Wellness, support, care, long-form attention, check-ins, varied offerings, smiles. When you have a community gym that serves to improve the total body, the value of the experience is 10x the cost. The owners of this facility have made a conscious effort to genuinely help those willing to help themselves. Simply showing up is on you. The rest is taken care of. Few businesses can say they changes lives. PXM does exactly that. Whatever preconceived notions you may have about joining a gym, assume they are self-limiting. I've been to a few crossfit and crossfit type gyms around the country and this is arguably one of the best!
1) Really great set of engaged coaches who are focused on your form, your wellbeing, your health. There are not pushing a standard or specific version of "fitness" on you. Instead they help you find what's best for you and your goals.
2) Great space and equipment with a ton options in terms of programming. Good for a lot of reasons, but it's great for scaling up or down, tweaking a workout for your needs (see #1 above), etc
3) Great community of people. If you're going to spend time and money to go somewhere several hours a week, you might as well go to a a welcoming, friendly community that is looking out for you.

Absolutely fantastic gym with increadible coaches and a great community!

I randomly found the gym through Midsommarfest in Andersonville where they enticed me to try a pullup competition. I decided to give the gym a shot after working out at my home gym for years. I absolutely am loving the expereince. I have learned a tremendous amount about proper lifts, form, new workouts, and its insane how much my cardio has improved (easily 3x). It's been a little over a month now and I go pretty regularly. I even am trying to train for a serious fitness challenge in November.

The highlight of the gym are the coaches. They truly work closely with everyone from your first on-ramp trainings to joining classes, they really get to know you and your capabilities. In class they remember a ton and make sure you are safe while still pushing to hit new goals. It's a ton of fun and the community is fantastic.

So pleased with the class schedule, instruction and overall programming at PXM. As a newcomer to Crossfit, I was excited to see that while the gym does participate in competitive events, there was no issue with me joining just to improve my relationship with exercise through PXM's focus on functional fitness. The strong sense of community at PXM is a direct result of the positive leadership and coaching there, keeping me motivated to show up throughout the week. 10/10 would recommend!

I am so grateful to be in a gym where age or physical ailments do not define your athletic potential. The coaches at PXM will meet you where you’re at and give you the tools needed to mobilize and/or strengthen your body. Whether you attend group classes or train through individualized programming, you will experience workouts that are thoughtful and intentional. I’ve been through several gyms and this is hands down the best gym in city of Chicago!

Thank you PXM for the transformations you’ve made in my health and outlook in life!! I greatly appreciate you!

I feel more comfortable and supported at PXM than any other gym where I held a membership. The coaches here are very personable and professional and make every workout a good time. They are attuned to my personal fitness goals and create an environment where everyone feels accepted. The community of athletes are also an integral part of what makes this gym so great. Despite varying degrees of fitness, I’ve experienced nothing but support and encouragement from all the members I’ve encountered in various classes I’ve taken. This is truly a very special place!

I joined the PXM few years ago when I was first diagnosed with Crohn’s Disease. I was only 95lb, malnourished, extremely tired and very weak ( I couldn’t use stairs without getting short of breath or being dizzy).
PXM was the best decision I made at that time. The coaches are knowledgeable, dedicated, caring and encouraging. With their training I gained not only strength, but also friends and home to go back to. I did travel nursing for two years and the best part of coming back to Chicago was going to see everyone at PXM:)
Today I am strong, healthy and happy.
I continue lift weights and work with Coach Senad regularly even 20 weeks pregnant:)
I highly recommend the gym to EVERYONE. I promise you will find there anything you looking for and more.

As a person with physical impairments, CrossFit was something that always felt unattainable and pretty much impossible for me to try. When I joined PXM, the coaches took me in and made sure I always had what I needed to be successful without making me feel uncomfortable or singled out. Physical fitness should be accessible to everyone, regardless of your abilities and at PXM they will go above and beyond to make sure you succeed and reach your goals. I would recommend absolutely everyone to come to PXM, meet the incredibly welcoming community and coaches, and you will quickly regret not joining sooner.

I've lived/traveled to lots of places and visited a variety of gyms. This is hands-down the best gym I've ever joined. The coaches are extremely knowledgeable, engaged and committed to safety, technique and ensuring everyone has a great workout. The programming is also top notch - whether you want crossfit, individual design, yoga, mobility - there's something for everyone regardless of age, ability or fitness level. Highly, highly recommend!

PXM is much more than a fitness facility. It is a place of community and friends.

Honestly this place has changed my life for the better. I had always been intimidated to try something that involved lifting weights and I don’t regret it one but. Everyone is so accepting and you feel like you belong. They meet you at your level of experience and guide you to grow. I recommend PXM to everyone.

What's not to love about PXM? I've been a member for over 6 years and have no plans to leave anytime soon! In no particular order...

- The space itself is clean and organized, with a range of equipment for classes and open gym
- The community is supportive with friendly competition and minimal toxic egos
- The programming is intentional, and new practices/classes are often incorporated for overall wellness/continuous learning
- The coaching staff is supportive and meets people where they are at - whether you have no athletic background or if you're training to compete, they will work with you towards whatever goal and capacity you have
- The leadership shows great care and integrity, openly communicating with members and always cultivating a sense of community & belonging inside and outside of the gym

tldr; if you are looking well-kept gym with great people and programming, look no further than PXM

I cannot even begin to express how important and impactful PXM has been on health and life in general since I joined in 2019. I had slipped a disc in my back a year earlier and wanted to start working out again but was afraid to do so by myself, but joining a gym and getting a personal trainer was far too expensive. I figured with crossfit I could workout and at least have someone there to answer any questions. I still can't believe how far my expectations were exceeded from the get-go. Rather than throw me into a class like some of the other gyms I'd talked to wanted to do, I had a full month of personal training so they could see the extent of my recovery and my physical limits. Including educating me on how my body has adapted since my injury. From my first class, every coach was fully aware of my injury and always kept an eye out to check my form.

When covid hit, they did not miss a beat and we were provided with at home workouts every single day designed for any manner of equipment you might have at home (even none). I have always been able to reach out to any coach directly for advice on modifications or any concerns. When the gym reopened, they were the first ones to be completely prepared, sending out a fully illustrated PDF on social distancing, mask, and sanitation guidelines and I have never not felt safe working out since.

This year I broke my elbow, they were immediately there for moral support, and designed personal workouts for me to keep me moving without risking further harm to my elbow. After finishing PT, I was told not to expect getting back a certain level of mobility in my elbow, but the resources PXM has provided me, from personal 1 on 1 muscle release/therapy sessions, to modified exercises, weekly check ins, and knowing exactly when to encourage me to take my work a little further and when to hold back, I have recovered almost all of my original extension, my pain is reduced, and have even relieved tension in the rest of my body.

As a gay man, I've often felt the pressure and stigma of body type in my community and other gyms. The community at PXM have never made me feel less than, the coaches and other members are nothing but supportive and encouraging. I've never felt more comfortable in my body in the gay community. I've made friends, I've learned, I'm appreciated. Even in times of financial hardship, never once have I considered quitting PXM as a way to cut expenses and I can never imagine leaving now.

Coaches go above and beyond to ensure safety of their athletes. The programming varies so you cannot get bored but you will get stronger/fitter/better by walking in the door and doing what they say. The gym itself is outstanding: the equipment is well maintained and the space is the cleanest gym I've ever worked out in considering how many people cycle through there everyday. This gym is outstanding. I've got a lot of work to do in rebuilding my body strength and ability from a lifetime of injury and misuse. The folks at PXM are compassionate and motivating.

During the Illinois shelter-in-place order due to Covid-19, PXM found creative ways for keeping their workouts accessible. Between Zoom classes, the apps SugarWOD and TrueCoach, and personal calls and texts, they provided above and beyond care to ensure their clients (and me) were healthy - physically and mentally.

During the phased reopening of businesses, they take safety and health seriously. Come with a mask!

The gym attracts some of the most vibrant and caring people I know. I am proud to be a member.

I was playing frisbee at senn high school when this gym displaced my group and just went into our space without a warning. They didn’t offer an apology or even tell us that they “reserved” this space. We ended up having to leave due to them just randomly taking the space we were at first, plus the personal trainer was horribly rude.

I mean, how can anyone say anything negative about PXM Crossfit!!!

I was a coach at the old box (which was under different ownership) and i moved away when these 3 guys took the challenge and accepted it well!!!

I’ve dropped in a couple times recently and i continue to be amazed at all that is going on!!! To name some highlights: *drop ins always welcomed with open arms *amazing community *new equipment *clothing & water bottles always available for purchase *seminars often (double under clinic, nutrition clinic ) *variety of classes *coaches are always willing to spend extra time with members to help them grow

Bottom line, PXM Crossfit is hands-down one of the best Crossfit gyms I’ve been too! Oh, and I’ve been Crossfitting and dropping into boxes since 2012!

I highly recommend to anyone wanting a change, challenge, whatever it may be.... come talk to Senad, Lamont and/or Ben at PXM!!! You won’t be disappointed!!!

The more I train at PXM CrossFit, the more grateful I am for the recent its recent rebranding and relocation. The new space is thoughtfully laid out and the additional sandbags, kettle bells, dumbbells, Echo bikes, etc. have made workouts here even more fun and varied and challenging. The new owners are communicative and excited, and that shows in their running of the box.

The programming at PXM is inspired and never, ever boring. Our coaches are amazing-both in how much they know about proper techniques and movement patterns as well as in how they convey that knowledge to their athletes. The coaches somehow manage to walk the line between making sure the athletes don't lift too much/try dangerous things while still motivating and encouraging them to push their limits (safely, of course).

In short:
A well-maintained box with lots of fun and interesting things to lift and throw around - check!
Engaged, excited, and invested owners - check!
Interesting and challenging programming - check!
Knowledgeable and caring coaches - check!

But wait! There's more!

I'd be remiss if I didn't write at least a few words about the community of athletes that makes up PXM CrossFit. The people who train at PXM are fantastic human beings. They are supportive and encouraging and *kind.* They welcome new athletes wholeheartedly. They train hard and they play hard. It is a wonderful community to be a part of.
