My journey began with RF in 2015. I remember being in my home gym on the treadmill watching "The Price is Right". My best friend happened to call and asked me if I wanted to take an adventure and experience a new found fitness program at a private personal training studio. My time had come; my workout had become stale. I threw in the remote and never looked back.

RF and the incredible, reliable trainers saved me. I was mainly a cardio girl. I was introduced to so much more! I mainly train with Linda. She is amazing...caring, patient and vibrant. The whole team offers these incredible credentials. Sean, thank you for believing in me and creating such a wonderful fitness experience.

Good morning Sean and Jen!

I am sorry I missed sending this yesterday...I plead senior citizen status.

Here is my opinion:

I recommended that my wife, Patricia, check out Restoration Fitness 3 years ago.
She did and is now on the "Wall of Fame".
After experiencing a health issue in my life, she returned the recommendation.
After about a year and a half my comment is this...the "R's" say it all.
This group is all about Restoration, Renovation and Results. Oh and throw in a heavy dose of Self Confidence!

I started my journey at Restoration Fitness in April 2023. While I had been consistent with strength training and cardio before joining, I struggled with SI joint pain that physical therapy and chiropractic care couldn’t fully resolve. My husband, who had already started training at RF, encouraged me to try a few sessions with Sean—and I’m so glad I did.

Honestly, RF has been a game-changer for me. Within a few months, I noticed a significant reduction in my SI joint pain and felt better overall. Over the past two years, I’ve made incredible progress in my strength—achievements I might not have reached elsewhere. I’ve been attending Restoration Fitness for a year and a half, encouraged by my husband, who had already been going consistently for a year before me. I’ve always been active—not just in my daily life but through regular exercise and workouts. Yet, Restoration Fitness has been a completely different experience. I have always been a physically active person that took pride in being in shape, but with everything shut down because of COVID, I started to develop some bad habits and found myself unfortunately in the worst shape of my life. My wonderful wife encouraged me to regain control of my physical fitness, and my journey with RF began in Feb. 2021. Today, I am the strongest I ever been, and as I approach my fourth anniversary with RF and my 50th birthday next February, my goal is to be in the best shape of my life.

Restoration Fitness studio has been a great find. The atmosphere is welcoming and accepting, which made it easy to feel comfortable right from the start. I am incredibly grateful to have found Restoration Fitness, the team, and the great people I work out with. I met with Sean, and he was able to create a personalized program which addressed my chronic back pain, shoulder pain, and weight loss goals.
Before starting, I was taking pain medication daily to help manage my symptoms and get me through the day. Over the course of several months in the program I could feel myself moving better, getting stronger, and in much less pain. Today I’m happy to report that I’ve been able to eliminate my medication.

In 2022, some newly diagnosed health issues triggered a series of surgeries and complications which severely limited most of my physical activity for eight months. When I was ready to resume exercise, I knew I needed help, although I have my own well-equipped home gym. RF has not only helped me get back to a base level of fitness, I have exceeded previous personal benchmarks. I do a lot of bicycling in the summer, and thanks to Sean and his team, I felt stronger on the hills last summer than I had in over ten years, despite having missed the entire previous cycling season. Even though the workouts are in a small group setting, my sessions are tailored to address my unique capabilities and limitations. The workouts are designed to be challenging and varied, while carefully crafted to limit the possibility of injury and potential setback. I have enjoyed doing and learning a lot of exercises I have never previously done, and I appreciate Sean’s attention to the importance of flexibility, in addition to strength. To that end, I have also benefitted greatly by supplementing my workouts with some ProStretch sessions. I feel truly blessed to have found the aptly named “Restoration” Fitness, and I look forward to consistent and continuing progress at RF.

I appreciated “The Six Week Summer Challenge”. It gave me the chance to experience working with a trainer before making a more serious commitment. After years of struggling with my weight, countless different trainers and diet plans, I googled fitness studios near me and came across Restoration Fitness Studio and I’m so glad I did.
Over the years, I’ve been with many trainers and if I’m being honest, I have been difficult and full of excuses. Sean, Linda and Jesse have been the first to not give up on me and for that I am truly grateful.

Although I am an active exerciser, I had lost my excitement for exercising and I knew I needed something to give me back the passion I once had for it. I'm very good with my cardio routine, but needed a more formal approach to weight training. I needed someone to tell me what to do and create a program for me as I was tired of doing it myself and never knew if I was doing any of it correctly. I signed up for the Fresh Start 6 week program RF was offering and I'm just wrapping up the program. I love coming here! It was very easy to select my group appointment times through the app and it fit into my schedule. I enjoyed both of the trainers I worked with, Linda and Jesse. They taught me so much and designed a program that would work with my body. A great challenge, but not so much that I felt like I couldn't do it. In 5 weeks of weight training with them, I've seen my energy improve (again, I was already working out 4-5 days a week), I've gained muscle tone and strength, and I feel the endorphins after I'm done exercising (which is something I usually only feel after cardio). Being new to any program is a little intimadating, but the other exercisers are the friendliest and welcoming group of people I've ever met. Any nervousness was quickly replaced with excitement and I quickly became a part of the group.

No review of Restoration Fitness would be complete without mentioning the owner, Sean. He is the real deal when it comes to fitness and health. Just check out his perfect posture! I wasn't able to take any classes with him however I saw him regularly around the gym and he always checked in with me to see how things were going. I felt very supported from both him and Jennifer. He has created the perfect environment to workout as well as a wonderful community amongst all of us there. I have enjoyed my time there immensely and it gave me everything I was looking for plus some other benefits. Thanks so much!

The Restoration Fitness team has ignited a Spark that is: Just Right for me… where I am now… guiding and challenging me to where I want to go next… with my health, strength, energy, balance, flexibility, nutrition and beyond in my customized healthy lifestyle program. For this, I am grateful for the RF team!

I already had a consistent exercise routine, but it was getting repetitive and dull. That is when I searched for and found RF. Linda, Jesse, and Sean, have guided me through just the right exercises for me based on how I feel on any given day. Now I am excited to exercise again and progressing at my best level. When I mention a pain or soreness to the team, they have just the right movements for me to feel better again. I have been going to Restoration Fitness for a little over 4 months. Before starting I had 2 surgeries on my back and I still had back pain and stiffness. I had gained a lot of weight and was not doing any real physical activity and was sick of how I looked and was feeling. I decided I wanted to make a change in my lifestyle and with my daughters prodding and research she found Restoration Fitness for me. I did a free consultation with Sean and I decided this might be something I could do. Well it was the best move I ever made. My personal instructor Jessie Sylvester is terrific!! He has developed different exercises for me personally to work on all the parts of my body but taking care not to do things that could cause harm to my back. He has got me down over thirty pounds and about 4 or 5 inches in the waist and has encouraged me to push myself to things I haven’t been able to do in years. I am 72 years old and can not be more thankful for what Restoration Fitness has done for me both in body and a new mindset! This place really works, and I was not paid to say this. If you want to make real changes in the way you look and feel and put the time and effort in, then this is the place for you!!

"In January of 2023 I decided to put together goals for the year. One of my primary goals was weight loss. With the loss of my dad a few years ago I had let myself go. So, I committed and started working out 3x/week and joined the Restoration Fitness 8-week Weight Loss Accelerator Program. In that program I lost 15 pounds and felt so much better and more energized. Since then, I’ve continued training and 1:1 nutrition coaching with Sean.
To date I have lost 25lbs!! Sean has been a staple in my success and continues to be a great support system with encouragement and knowledge that keeps me going. I have been super focused on not missing my workouts and making sure that I am accountable for all my choices. Some good and not so good. But every day is a new day, and I am grateful for that!
I will never leave RF. I have gotten super strong and making RF part of my journey will allow me to have my best life looking forward.

One of the best things I’ve ever done is walk through the door at Restoration Fitness. I have scoliosis with two 50 degree curves in my back and was having more frequent pain and discomfort. I knew I needed help strengthening the muscles that support my spine. I met with Sean and was immediately impressed with his knowledge and welcoming personality.

Now five years later, I work out three times a week with Linda, Jesse, and Sean. These trainers are all fabulous with lots of experience and expertise. I love that the classes never have more than five people, allowing for personal attention and workouts tailored to my needs.

Sean also offers Pro Stretch sessions which I brought my husband to. He suffered from Parkinson's Disease and his muscles became very stiff. He was able to move easier and felt stronger after Sean's stretching and exercises with weights and bands. Since it helped him so much, I recently began these sessions with Sean, which has made a huge difference in managing my scoliosis. When I leave, I actually feel and look inches taller!

Restoration Fitness is such a wonderful facility for personalized attention, customized workouts, nutrition counseling, and a welcoming atmosphere. I feel so blessed to be a part of the Restoration Fitness family!

Before finding RF, I was suffering with a painful injury, and I thought I might be facing permanent physical limitations. At times, I couldn’t walk more than a few steps or climb stairs, and this condition could sometimes last for weeks. While I’ve always been significantly overweight, during this time my weight skyrocketed. That only aggravated my injury and terrible inflexibility set in across my whole body.

Knowing I had to improve, I discovered RF. Admittedly, I was skeptical at first. After so many failed attempts at establishing a fitness routine, would I REALLY stick with it this time? Usually aches and pain from improper form caused me to quit after a few months in.

Thankfully, working with Sean, Jesse and Linda has delivered gradual, positive changes without all the unnecessary pain. I might go as far as saying I enjoy fitness now; or I certainly enjoy the many life-benefits it delivers.

At the beginning of my time with RF, Sean helped me activate my body with Pro-Stretch sessions. That was such a great way to ease into a tailored fitness routine with RF. It’s clear that the guided pace is strategic. The skilled team at RF has a way of gently but very effectively finding just the right effort level that builds strength and flexibility, yet keeps muscle ache at a minimum and avoids injury. I really appreciate that, and it keeps me showing up consistently with motivation.

Each new month I’m settling into a better mindset around fitness and nutrition. I’ve enjoyed the 8 week weight loss program with successful results. It has established a great foundation for re-programming my life-long, problematic relationship with food. We address nutrition specifics, of course. But we also deal with my emotional issues around food – something that requires my consistent awareness. As with the pace of my physical fitness improvements, I’m learning MY right pace for nutritional improvements that will serve me to for a lifetime, not just through temporary weight loss efforts.

Almost every day I see positive changes. That might be related to feeling stronger or more flexible in a particular activity, noticing a welcome change in the appearance of my body, or acknowledging a surprisingly happy attitude (which had been far too rare while I was sick with injury). And I might say that my doctor is ecstatic with the significant improvements in my biomarkers, which means I can avoid medication. MOST happy about that!

I have so much to be thankful for in the skilled team of RF coaches, but also for the support and kindness of RF clients that contribute to the overall great culture.

When I came to Restoration Fitness a year ago in March 2022, I had been starting and stopping various exercise programs, struggling with weight gain, low energy and joint pain. I had joined various gyms, but struggled to be consistent and would often give up. I simply did not feel healthy.

I’ve been attending RF for a total of 3 months. I began with the desire to learn how to eat again, after using powdered, diet food for a long time and the need to strengthen my body. After hearing glowing testimonials about Sean and the Restoration Fitness team from two of my new neighbors I decided to give it a try. Although my favorite type of exercise is dancing, I recognized that I was losing strength and needed to supplement my Zumba classes and social dance with something extra. I used to think of weight training as boring, but that’s not true anymore!

The small group sessions are the perfect balance of individualized attention and working at your own pace. Each of the three trainers I’ve worked with really listens, providing just the right amount of correcting my form, encouraging me to do just a bit more, and making each session fresh and fun. With the motivating in-studio music, I can even dance a little between each exercise set! I may sweat and grunt and groan (“It’s only easy if you’re not doing it right” is my new favorite saying), but I always walk out with a smile, feeling good for the rest of the day.

I am amazed at what I’ve been able to accomplish in these past 6+ months working with the team here. It’s reassuring as I get older to know I’m doing everything I can to maintain my health, and I can see the positive impact on my mental health as well.

I've been a member of Restoration Fitness for over a year and it's the best experience I've ever had at a gym. The staff are welcoming and supportive. There is no body shaming here. "Where do I begin? Maybe Aug 1, 2021 the first day I came into RF after a friend was sure I could find help. I was barely able to walk without a cane and definitely not able to get up from a chair without leaning on a table or holding on to someone. The orthopedic doctor was sure I needed a complete knee replacement. This was certainly going to be a challenge for me and the RF team.

They started slowly with me, which really helped to build my confidence and strength. The trainers always tell me I'm doing the work and they are just my GPS! What an incredible GPS they have been!

In a little over 10 months I’ve lost 65 pounds, I'm doing 20 consecutive sit-stands with a 30 pound weight, and leg pressing 130 pounds. It’s amazing!

The improvements I’ve made have allowed me to go hiking & biking 3 & 4 mile trails with my kids. Seems unbelievable, but it’s true.

The next time you start to think, I can't do that, it's too hard, I’m too busy, or I'M TOO OLD.....think again ........ I'm 81!!!!!! Trust me, the professionals at Restoration Fitness have your back!!! They will give you a whole new outlook on life!"

Working with the team at Restoration Fitness, I found the knowledge and encouragement to return to regular exercise. I saw a positive impact in my strength within the first 6 weeks. A reduction in inches and more muscle definition followed quickly.

In January, I received a motivational email from Sean which said, “you can’t outrun a bad diet”. I knew my diet was, and had been, very bad for a long, long time. I took the opportunity to participate in Restoration Fitness’ Little Black Dress (LBD) program which focuses as much on diet as exercise. I hoped/expected to drop some weight. That happened. What I did not expect was to learn so much about how, when, and why I make the food choices I do. The LBD food program encourages you to eliminate/substitute certain food groups from your diet. I made these changes and became aware of previously unknown food sensitivities/allergies too.

Insights gained over the past six months have led me to take a much more proactive approach to my health. I keep a food and exercise diary, recording water intake and sleep as well. Using the TrueCoach app, I have a record of my workouts. I spend time with Sean to review my activity/choices and identify changes that can improve my progress.
Today (6-months into working with Restoration Fitness), my weight is the lowest it has ever been in my adult life. I have lost inches, built strength and have vastly more energy.

I have set goals for the next 6 months which I look forward to pursuing with help from Sean, Linda, and Jessie. Restoration Fitness is very aptly named. That is what the team did for me – helped restore my fitness.

I am so grateful to be working with such a knowledgeable and supportive team of trainers and staff at Restoration Fitness. They have helped me regain a quality of life that I have not enjoyed for many years.

Prior to joining Restoration Fitness, I had worked out and taken exercise classes at several different fitness centers. I was in ok shape but had limited range of motion in my legs and back and needed a hip replacement. The surgery and recovery went well but I developed knee pain and still had limited range of motion with normal activities such as climbing stairs, walking through our hilly neighborhood and gardening to be painful and challenging. Although I worked with 2 physical therapists at the other exercise facilities, there was little to no significant improvement.

A friend of mine suggested I check out Restoration Fitness and talk to Sean. After my consultation with Sean, I felt excited because he had a more interesting and holistic approach than the other training facilities. Sean examined my knee and quickly presented a plan for strengthening and improving my use of it, with dramatic results in less than 3 months. During my training, Sean knew to develop and strengthen the smaller muscles before working on the larger ones. He also knew how to scale up my exercise regimen – reps and weight – so as to not overdo it or get a certain set of muscles out of sync. Now there is definite improvement in my range of motion, with no knee pain and I have full ability to walk up and down stairs and do other activities like a normal person.

Concurrent to my exercise and training regimen, I decided to participate in a diet and weight loss course Sean was providing. As with his approach to exercise and training, Sean took a holistic approach, which looked at not only the types of foods that promote health but also provided shopping lists and recipes to help establish a healthy eating style. Weekly reporting of our measurements and weight also helped provide focus and motivation. At the end of the six week course, I had lost almost 30 lbs. Needless to say, the weight loss also has added to my general overall physical health and sense of well-being.

Because RF provides a strong sense of community among the staff and members, I had the encouragement and guidance I needed to make such a significant and positive change in my life. And that structure and support also provides me confidence that I can maintain the health that I have regained at Restoration Fitness.

Going back to Restoration Fitness after my physical therapy ended was the best decision of my life! I put my health into their hands.

Now let me tell you about my road to better and greater health…

Before knee surgery - I was working out at a gym a mile from my house attending group classes. I injured my knee while I was a member there and it forced me to stop and focus on making real changes.

I was invited to a small group personal training session at Restoration Fitness and found the gym to be so different. The workouts are really organized and customized to your specific needs and goals. Every workout is unique to each individual. I really like their attention to form and detail.

Before and after my surgery Sean and Linda created workouts that were perfect for what I needed. I knew right then this was the place for me! Knowing that my knee would no longer limit my progress I got more invested into the process and started to work on nutrition and weight loss.

So here I am 10 months later post knee surgery with the strength and confidence to resume my love for power lifting, benching, dead lifting. I have gained so much strength, lost a lot of weight, and FEEL healthier and stronger!

As part of my recovery I had weekly Pro Stretch sessions with Sean where he explained many things about my joints, muscles and what needed to be done to get back to walking again properly without doing damage to my knees again.

So not only did I get the benefit of personalized workouts, but I also learned crucial information about my body and how to eat more healthfully.

Working out and being active is something I've always liked. In late 2017 I was introduced to Restoration Fitness by a friend. The dedication and expertise of the staff was immediately obvious. The training is very individualized with great attention to form, correct execution and is appropriately challenging.

Fast forward to 2020. Covid and travel initially kept me from working out at RF. Then a bike wreck in July left me with a broken elbow, frozen shoulder and torn rotator cuff. After a long recovery I was finally able to return in November. Physical therapists and the surgeon had repeatedly warned against overdoing it and risking further damage. It was critical that I go slow and get competent direction. Sean's extensive knowledge of, and experience in, fitness was exactly what I needed. Each session began with an inquiry as to how I was doing and would proceed from there. I simply could not afford to do any more damage. Consequently, I was very cautious and asked a lot of questions. I was always able to get the answer and explanation I needed.

It has been a methodical process. Slow and steady. I am delighted with the recovery. I'm way stronger than a year ago and have nearly 100% range of movement again in the shoulder.

I got started with Restoration fitness because of constant lower back pain that I had been treated for years without much relief. I visited their website and read about their ProStretch program. I was intrigued by the combination of core strengthening and having someone stretch me in ways I could never do on my own.
In our first meeting Sean explained that we couldn't doing anything about the structural problems I had, but we could strengthen and improve the flexibility of the muscles surrounding my spine to decrease the stress to my back.
I noticed some improvement with-in the first month. My core felt stronger and I felt more flexible, but I knew I still had a long way to go. Over the several months I felt a dramatic improvement! All of the pain I had been experiencing was virtually gone. I couldn't believe it!

I have been using Restoration Fitness for only a short time, since October 2017, and have seen gains in the two areas that concern me the most, my weight and blood sugar levels.

I was working out 1-2 times a week and trying to eat healthy. While that was working, it was a slow process. Sean had insisted that the Dangerously Fit Challenge would allow me to see noticeable gains in both areas and he had designed it to be easy to follow.

My wife was also looking to complete the challenge. Having both of us in the challenge would make it easier to follow for meals. Having just returned from a long vacation, where my eating habits were not as good as they had been, I took the challenge and the results were excellent.

After completing the 6-week challenge, I lost 15 pounds and won. I liked that the grocery lists, meal plans, and recipes were already generated to allow for ease of use. It just shows that with proper planning you can lead a healthier lifestyle and still enjoy what you eat.

For anyone who was debating whether to give it a try, I would say that the ease of use makes it simple to meet your healthy eating goals and allows you to plan your week in a way that saves time.

I‘m a 62 year old male who was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease almost 3 years ago. I am diabetic, overweight, and haven’t worked out regularly in over a decade.

Like alot of people I sit in front of a computer most days. My muscles are unbelievably stiff, and had gotten so bad that I couldn’t even bend over and tie my shoelaces, or walk for more than a couple of minutes before the pain forced me to sit down.

I knew I needed to start exercising, but I kept thinking “how in the world am I going to work out if I can’t even walk for 5 minutes.”

That sent me on a search to find a personal trainer who could help me. I came across Restoration Fitness in Lake Zurich. They stood out from all the other programs I found because they focused on small group training and personalized programs.

I was really intrigued by this Pro Stretch program they offered so I set up an appointment for a session with Sean – it was one of the best decisions I have ever made!

After only 4 weeks, I could almost touch my toes, and walk with very little pain. After 6 weeks, I was walking across a parking lot one day and realized, “Hey, I am walking a lot faster and I have NO pain in my hips and lower back”. I wasn’t just shuffling my feet anymore. I was actually walking!

My quality of life has taken a huge leap forward! When out shopping I don’t use the cart as a walker anymore. I move around much more easily, and can get in and out of my car, which was almost impossible before.

Not only that… I can almost keep up with my wife at Costco. (She walks very fast)!
I can even bend over and put down our dog’s dishes without just dropping them in place!

All of my friends and clients have noticed the improvement too.

I had no idea how far I had deteriorated until now. I had forgotten what it was like to be pain-free! I don’t even wake up in the middle of the night with cramped muscles anymore.

I have to mention this too. Sean has also helped me clean up my diet and drink more water. As a result I am feeling healthier and I have been able to reduce the amount of insulin I take.
I have a new lease of life. A BIG thank you to Sean and his team. They are the best!

I joined RF in April of last year.  At that time my motivation for joining was to lose weight.  I felt tired all the time.  With working full time and a family, I found it hard to make time for myself.

I have been working out consistently three days a week with Alex. He really knows my ability and pushes me to do my best with every workout.  He challenges me to do more than I ever thought I could do.

My regular meetings with Sean have taught me good nutrition habits and motivated me to stay on track.

Since joining RF I not only have lost weight but feel healthier, stronger, happier, and more energized.

It was time!! I had let things go and now it was time to get back into shape. I wanted to feel better and I owed it to my family and employees to be healthy both physically and emotionally.

I was looking for somewhere that held me accountable but also somewhere where I wanted to be. With everyday life taking up most of the day, I needed to set some time aside several days a week to work on me. After I had done the research, Restoration Fitness came to the forefront as a place that had the personalization of small classes, a routine that held me accountable, a time-saving yet very intense workout and a great group of people to work with.

Getting healthy, fit, feeling good, or any combinations of these, starts with oneself. RF provided the support, infrastructure, and were the catalyst to make sure I did the right things for me. RF has the recipe to push me on work outs, advise me on correct diet and nutrition, set achievable goals and make sure all of this becomes a way of life. My commitment to them is the final ingredient that ties it all together, and they make commitment as easy as it can be.

I work out mostly with Alex and thanks to him I am stronger, substantially more flexible, fitter, am preparing for the Masters Strongman 😊 and look like I have been in a tropical storm by the end of each workout!!

I am 6 months into my ‘makeover’ and have already seen many positive results. Thanks to all at RF for their time, patience and dedication.

I’ve been at Restoration Fitness just shy of one year now and the change in my strength and body composition overall has been phenomenal. I have always been into fitness, eating right and active in many sports and healthy activities but I knew I was missing something.
After many years of working out in a typical gym setting I became really bored of the same old thing so, I quit the gym and joined Resortation Fitness.
What I like about RF is that I get a full body workout that is structured to my needs and ability and it’s always different, challenging and fun! There is a real family feel here, people know and care about each other, there is always someone cheering you on. The trainers, Linda & Sean are so supportive, they push you but in the best way to help you get through your workout and accomplish more than you thought you could. I joined RF a year ago after answering a promotion I saw on Facebook. Old habits and the mundane were getting the best of me. I needed exercise and I needed guidance.
After meeting with Sean and seeing the studio with its positive & friendly atmosphere, I was anxious to get started.
The workouts are incredibly productive and the small atmosphere provides much personal attention. I have gotten so much stronger and have muscles I thought I’d never have!

Nagging knee issues was my ongoing excuse for not exercising. My friend Mary recommended RF as a way to get strength and flexibility to my knee. I was very skeptical because of the pain, but I decided to give it a try.

Wow! Mary was right! After 7 months, the knee swelling is down, I can bend my knee easily and can even do squats, which was impossible before! The best thing is that I 'm stronger and actually look forward to the early morning workouts.

Working with Linda is AWESOME! She's so upbeat and positive, especially first thing in the morning! She focuses on my needs as well as the other clients. The variety and timing with each exercise has held my interested and time goes by fast.

As I look forward to retirement, RF is helping me get fit and strong so I can physically be ready to enjoy traveling and hopefully hiking. All the staff is awesome and joining RF is one of the best decisions I ever made.

I am so honored to be chosen as client of the month--what a surprise!  I'm sure it comes as no surprise to my family and friends that I completely love Restoration Fitness (I talk about it to almost everyone!).
Last January a dear friend of mine (Michele you know who you are!) encouraged me to come talk to Sean after a month of slow weight loss but a sore heel.  After a great meeting with Sean I quickly started working out twice a week with Alex (and Lourdes!!) and just as quickly I started to feel great and have better success.
After 4 months I was healthy and happy and looking forward to each and every workout.  I joined the metabolic meltdown challenge and was overall loving the program and the workouts.  But about 2 weeks ago I had a real ah ha moment!
Thanks to the amazing Alex Apostol I realized that I was actually getting really strong (bench presses and the trap bar--holy cow!!) and thanks to Sean's principles I was reaching my goals but making changes that I realized weren't just a temporary means to weight loss but permanent changes to what I thought was already a pretty healthy life.
With a few brilliant tweaks and suggestions I am now living the same amazing life but incorporating (without knowing it) some basic principles that I now cannot live without--protein, protein, protein, water with lemon, basil and mint, daily exercise and My fitness Pal (ok I am a little bit obsessed with that app now!).

I’ve known Sean for a long time. In fact, he was the first trainer I ever worked with. A friend of mine recommended him, but it took me about two years to actually make an appointment with him. It was intimidating because I had never worked out with weights before. I never took exercising seriously or thought about how it would impact my life. I was pretty lackadaisical about exercising and only did it because my friends were going to the health club and it was a fun, social thing to do with them...and we’d get coffee afterwards  It wasn’t until after working out with Sean that I realized that exercise would always be a part of my life, that I appreciate the health benefits from it, I like feeling strong, and I like the confidence that it gives me.

I am always trying to balance working out and eating healthy, with real life. Believe me, I like to go out to dinner with my husband, friends and family. It’s one of my favorite things to do. I try to eat healthy during the week, and not go crazy on week-ends, but I still want to enjoy myself and have a drink or two! There are plenty of days when I’m tired, or cranky, and just don’t feel like working out. When I walk in the door of RF, I’m greeted like a friend, by Allison and Linda, and it changes by whole attitude. The camaraderie, support and laughs from fellow exercisers and staff, is exactly what I need to keep coming back. I may not have felt like exercising when I came in, but I’m always happy that I did. Seriously, some days this is a huge accomplishment!

I love RF and am so glad that Sean opened up his own place. I’m so thankful to be a part of such an incredible community of people and be surrounded by people who really care about you and want you to succeed in reaching your goals. Awesome team. Classes always have new/modified workouts, never a dull moment. Sean and his team are doing a fantastic job of helping their clients meet the fitness goals. I loved the fact that they give me modifications for each workout to cope with my sciatica problem. I always feel more energetic and strong after the classes.
