Thanks Retro Fitness for selling us out to Brickhaus gym it's going to be way overwhelmingly crowded to get a workout and they want $15 more a month.

My favorite thing is Hilary's yoga classes. I moved further from the gym but didn't switch gym's because of Hilary's class. Also, the gym is always clean and the staff are all very nice and helpful. I don't have any problems getting on machines. The massage chairs are also great.

Absolutely love this place! Not only do they offer a clean and friendly facility they also offer month to month memberships, unlike a lot of other gyms around the area which requires one to sign a yearly contract. This gym also offers some great personal trainers, trainers that will sit and really get to know your goal to help you reach it and are certified and well trained in their profession. Donβt waste your time in other gyms, sign up at Retro! It was the easiest and best decision Iβve made to join this gym!

I recently joined Retro, and so far I love it !! Everything about it is all you need in a gym. Tommy, the personal trainer is awesome, he gave me some great tips for excising and all the staff is very friendly. My favorite thing about Retro is the WATER MASSAGE BED !! yass!! a massage bed. It's the best thing I have seen at a gym so far, and it helps so much for sore muscles. I highly recommend Retro in Carol Stream !!

This gym stinks. Literally.
They have acknowledged they have a sewer problem. Manager said 5 plumbers have been out and say it cannot be fixed. I finally decided to cancel my membership because I couldnβt stand paying to exercise in sewer gases any longer. First, they wouldnβt let me out of my contract for this reason. After being persistent, they let me cancel only if I paid 75% of my remaining contract! They claimed o was a valued member, but Retro Fitness/ABC Financial just care about taking your money.
Before the sewer problems developed, the gym was okay. Small. One of everything. Expect to wait for equipment during peak hours or skip certain things you wanted to do during a workout. Everything is cramped and you will bump elbows with others trying to exercise.
On a positive note the staff was generally nice.
Hope this helps someone make a decision before getting locked into a contract like I did.

Really like the gym! They have a protein smoothie bar and the staff is super knowledgeable and very friendly.
They do have a lot of fitness equipment and a cardio theater / it's like working out in a cinema ...pretty cool.
They do have a place for fitness group sessions and a monitored child sitting area. The men's locker room is pretty big and clean !

I suggest no one should join retro fitness. Once see retro fitness cancellation reviews. They suck at least of $250 dollars from you to do a cancellation. Never ever join retro.

Horrible Experience. I signed up my fiancee and I for the membership. We were locked in to a year agreement and could not cancel without incurring a early termination fee. We waited until the year was up and had to physically go in to cancel, They would not do it on the phone. We signed our papers and were told we would be charged again because they need 30 days notice of cancellation. I proceeded to pay for the extra month we would not use, and once I thought we were all finished, I then received two $39.99 fees claiming they are an annual fee that must be charged to my account. They claimed they could not reimburse the fees, even though I obviously cancelled already. I understand why this is the only Illinois location... I'm sure they will not be opening any more locations out here if they have this kind of scamming business model. PLEASE USE ANOTHER GYM, YOU WILL BE MUCH HAPPIER!!

I have been using a 7 day pass to try the place out and see if the travel time works for me.
I was very surprised by the place. I had never been to a Retro Fitness and I have to admit the place is pretty nice.
The staff is attentive - well groomed - A very rare thing for gyms around the area.
There is a HUGE variety of equipment and machines.
The equipment is well kept and clean and in working order - Another very rare thing for the area gyms.
The men's area - Again really well kept and clean - A COMPLETE RARETY FOR THE LOCAL GYMS.
The gym is a little crowded in terms of machines and weights - But, I have not experienced any crowding or wait for any equipment.
The vibe is very friendly and upbeat and you can tell the staff go out of their way to create that atmosphere.
While, I work out everyday - I normally work with a trainer 3+ times a week - Just to insure I am meeting my goals and keeping on track. I spent some time observing the trainers and wasn't too impressed with what I saw. (I have to say, I am very picky and snobbish regarding trainers) I will continue to take a look and see what the future brings in that area.
I have to say that this place is a real value on every level and I am sure I will join after my trial is up.
If you haven't been there you should give it a visit and you will see what I am talking about.

Awesome Gym... Love the staffs and the instructors that teach different types of classes... I would definitely recommend this gym to all my friends and family. Daycare issue for some people but in this gym they are so kind to the kids and they have some activities going on each month. Come out and try it out!!!

Gym itself not so bad. Staff and billing department... INCOMPETENT!!! Cancelled my membership in August for September as I am writing this in December I am still getting charged for a canceled membership after calling numerous times
