So run down and scummy lately. Has not been kept up with. Things are extremely rusted or breaking or already broken. Too many to list. Including toilets. Bees in the ceiling lights coming out all summer. 53 degrees inside yesterday. That's jacket weather! Holes in the ceiling. No water provided even though there are "two sources" Hard to find a positive doe this place besides it being close by. I usually will drive further to be at a better Snap. For the price compared to say the Mundelein location or basically any other Snap, this place is a joke. And on top of all that, who the heck puts dumbbells in the middle of the floor? Just the cherry on top. There's so much more but I think that's enough.... I don't even do reviews.. Ever.. But as a ten year snap fitness member, Mchenry Snap fitness is a major disappointment

If I couldn't rate this something lower I would. Called many times and left a couple voicemails but no one ever got back to me. There was no one ever there when I went into the gym to cancel my membership, but as soonest my
Payment didn't go thru they started to email me and calling me. Apparently all they care is about the money and not their customers.

Snap has about every weight machine you need for a good upper and lower body workout. Free weights too. Reasonable price. Lots of aerobic equipment.

Impossible to cancel your membership. It took me two months to cancel and my boyfriend is still fighting. They make up reasons why you can't have your membership canceled the day you ask so they can continue to steal from you. All they do is make money off that auto-payment every month and down even show up for personal training sessions.
Take your business elsewhere!

As a former member, and a current member, this gym is number one on my list of local gyms. I’ve gone to this gym and have lost a tremendous amount of weight. I always make the same dumb mistake, I get tired of the surroundings after about a year or so and want to switch things up, I do so, and immediately fall flat on my face.

If you want a gym without accessible parking, accessible machines, foul characters and a variety of other disturbances, go anywhere in town other than snap.

However if you want a gym where you can let yourself in and simply do what you got to do without worrying about each and every piece of equipment being claimed by hulky testosterone driven teenage hot shots, choose snap. The 24 hour access is great for that day that you thought you didn’t have it in you at 7pm, but caught a second wind by 9:30 and you’re able to go without worrying about the doors being locked up for the night.

The place is clean enough, just big enough for what they have, and is good enough to get the job done. No quirky amenities here like steam rooms, saunas, shower rooms, etc. and that’s perfectly fine. I pay to work out, not to freshen up for the day and treat myself to spa day.
