Great quality equipment in a clean environment. Open 24/7 is awesome and the owner isn't on premises for most of the day.

I am a member and recommend this facility to everyone. Well organized, clean with a great number of machines, weights etc. Friendly, knowledgeable staff. I use the personal training option which was really good for me initially but now I feel comfortable that I can go in on my own. Great location.

DO NOT GO TO THIS GYM. Or any Snap Fitness for that matter. I feel terrible for complaining (I am in the retail industry and I know exactly how it feels), but I can’t let this go unnoticed. I used to be an avid Snap Fitness member. I liked it because they had many locations and that was convenient since I moved around frequently for my job. That was until a year ago when I found out I had cancer (no sympathy needed, just a critical detail to the story!). Obviously I wouldn’t be going to the gym much that year so I had to cancel. Dave, the owner, told me that I had to give a months notice to cancel so I’d owe an additional month. Totally understandable. Meanwhile during that month, I lost my wallet and had to freeze my credit cards until I either found it or got new ones. Of course Dave noticed this and was quick to call me explaining my last charge didn’t go through. I gave him another card number and he said great I will put that on file now. I mentioned that I had canceled my membership. He then told me that I would have to give another months notice to cancel. I brought up the fact that I had already told him I was canceling. He said ok he’d honor that and THAT WAS IT. During treatment, I was only paying my minimum credit card balance and not paying attention to the actual balance itself. Fast forward a year and I am now back to normal, so I started looking at my statements again. Surprise, Snap was charging me the entire time! Shame on me for not paying more attention over the last year, but I had more important things to worry about at the time. I called my bank and they blocked them from being able to charge my card anymore. Then I called Dave at the gym. I told him the story and his only response was that he tells everyone that in order to cancel they have to go into the gym and sign papers. I was shocked. He never told me that! Because if he did, I would have done it. That whole period of time was me getting things in order for the long months ahead. I DIDN’T NEED A GYM MEMBERSHIP or to waste money on it. The whole time on the phone he was very rude and could have cared less about the situation. He said if I wanted to cancel now, he would allow me to email him that I was canceling (note that NOW he will allow a special circumstance but not before). So I emailed him that I was canceling now, even though I asked to almost a year ago. He did respond saying everything was canceled, he was saving the email for his records, and good luck with my health. I then called corporate (which is incredibly hard to get ahold of) and left them a voicemail to call me back, but they never did. I wanted to write a bad review then, but allowed myself time to cool off and decided to just count my blessings. Until just now, when I got an email from Snap Fitness that my card on file declined for my membership ... that was apparently never canceled. You have got to be kidding me that it is this hard to cancel with this company. Thank God I had Chase block them from any future charges or they would STILL be charging me. It should be a huge sign that the company as a whole doesn’t value customer service since it it is near impossible to get a hold of them and it is also obvious that Dave at the Palatine Snap Fitness likes taking people’s money no matter what the cost. Since I am healthy again, I was in the market for a new gym. I went else where and so should you!

Pushy staff when signing up and canceling. Gym is tiny and equipment is basic.

24-hour gym that is on the smaller side. Owner is friendly, helpful and a straightforward businessman - no games. He keeps the gym clean and the equipment is working order. I’ve never had any issues waiting for equipment.

Tried to visit this gym as a guest while in town, and their staffed hours make it impossible to get a guest pass/sign up. Very disappointing.

24 hour gym with good variety of equipment, the owner keeps everything in great shape and also looks for ways to innovate such as inclusion of Rockbot for DJing your own playlist.

Joined with the 1 month trial but did not renew. It is a medium sized 24 hr fitness center with a lot of equipment but it was not what I was looking for. Seems to be popular and convenient.

Small and pricey. 35$ for such a small gym is a rip off and i got charged 2 months even though i have cancelled 2 weeks in advance and did not get money back. Look somewhere else.
