I've been going to this gyn for a couple months now, I enjoy the equipment, how clean it is and how's there's never too many people there at once. They are putting in new equipment all the time. I take one star off because there's should be more cleaning stations and monitored often. I cant tell you how many times i go over to get wipes to clean equipment and there's none there or the dispenser wasnt replenished.
Also wish the weight area was more organized. The weights are not organized by weight but more like a free for all. Some i found weren't even paired up together. Kind of annoying looking for the correct weight in the midst of chaos.
I will continue to go to this gym hoping it improves as time goes on. I believe they can be excellent

Good Facility, But Lacking Security.

The gym itself is great and I enjoy the facility, but I was very disappointed to learn about the lack of security in the parking lot. Someone I know had their car broken into here, and when they asked staff about video footage, they were told the cameras in the lot don’t actually work, despite the signs that clearly say the property is protected by video surveillance.

This is misleading and gives members a false sense of security. For a place that values its members, safety should be a priority. I strongly urge management to either repair the cameras or remove the signage. Members should be able to feel confident that their vehicles are safe while they’re inside the gym.

Sport Express is a really nice local gym. Very well taken care of and always clean. They have all the machines and free weights you need and group fitness options which are included in your membership. You can tell this gym is a real work of love by the owner. So happy to have this gym and be free of LA Fitness.

Hands down one of the best gyms around!

Darius has done an amazing job creating a space that’s both well-equipped and extremely clean. The machines, floors, restrooms, and showers are all spotless — it really shows how much care goes into maintaining the facility.

The group classes are fantastic — from full-body workouts to fun Zumba dance sessions, there’s something for everyone.

One of my favorite things? The baby center with a nanny! As a parent, it’s a game-changer to be able to focus on a workout while knowing my child is safe and having fun nearby.

Highly recommend this gym — big thanks to Darius and his team for building such a welcoming and family-friendly environment!

Sport Express is absolutely amazing! The Zumba class was energetic and so much fun. The gym is always clean and equipped with brand-new, high-quality machines. What truly sets this place apart is the Kids Club with a wonderful, caring staff member who looks after the little ones. We got the family membership, and even our 19-month-old daughter loved spending time there. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a gym that supports both fitness and family!

Glad to be back! My son and I are happy to be coming back to portage! Child care is a must for me and their childcare area and all staff are very nice and welcoming . I have been going to this gym since opening day, and so far I have been very happy with my experience. The workers are very friendly and welcoming. One thing I did notice, is that the gym is very clean. When I am there, I see the employees cleaning the machines, and making sure the place is neat. They also have new machines to try that the old Xsport did not have, and the place overall is not chaotic. You are able to use the machines you want without the place being over crowded. Overall I am happy with the new place, and excited to try out their other amenities.

So far it’s been great . Few things I would suggest is adding one or two standard 20kg close grip non rotating barbells for heavy bench and deadlifts. The rotating barbells make it hard to control heavy weight since they wiggle too much. Lastly, i would really like to see more hammer strength plated machines

Portage Park Gym has been resurrected and is better than before!! It’s under New management after LA Fitness ran it into the ground. Jason and his team have been working with the community, listening to our feedback and actively looking for equipment that suits the needs of serious fitness enthusiasts. There are a few machines missing but owner said they were ordered and waiting for arrival.

A bit shocked by the negative reviews given they've only been open for 2 days. Yes, they could use some additional equipment. The owner asked for feedback today on anything they should add, I threw out a few suggestions which he said were already in the works. I've been greeted both times I came in as well. It's clean and most of the equipment is new. I was fed up with machines at XSport(LA) being constantly broken every other day. Looking forward to working out here more.
