I've had multiple injuries and surgeries over the years — a ruptured L4-L5 disc, a knee replacement, and shoulder surgery - and for the past decade, I couldn't do squats or deadlifts without pain. Since training with the team at Strength Affect, that's completely changed. Their deep knowledge of the muscular system, therapy-based approach, and attention to detail have made all the difference. I'm now doing squats and deadlifts pain-free for the first time in over 10 years. Great place to improve your strength & fitness with expert instruction that meets you where you are to start with and helps you meet your goals. It's more tailored than Crossfit and more individualized than fitness studio work. Sterling is great and the facility itself is brand new with very nice equipment.

Sterling is a fantastic trainer. During the onboarding process a couple months ago he was thoughtful in assessing my needs and listening to my goals. He was very deliberate in coming up with a program tailored to my individual circumstances. His attention to form sets him apart, helping me get the most out of each session and avoid injury. Sterling is a great trainer & I highly recommend him.
I started working out with Sterling at Strength Affect in March 2024. I was struggling with chronic neck/shoulder pain and wanted to move better while increasing my muscle & strength.
Sterling created a tailored program that was both challenging and motivating for me while addressing my areas of weakness. He is always encouraging, pushing me to exceed my limits while ensuring that I maintain proper form to prevent injuries.

This is a great gym. Sterling really knows his stuff. He programs workouts customized to help me improve my weaknesses, get stronger and avoid injury. In the short period since I joined I already see a lot of improvement from when I first walked in. At my previous gym, I didn’t get this improvement and felt lost for years. I started going to Strength Affect while recovering from back pain. I wanted to gain strength overall, but I was worried about re-injuring my back. Since I started working out with Sterling at Strength Affect, my back pain comes less frequently and if it does come back, it goes away much more quickly than it used to. And if I’m not feeling my best, Sterling will modify my workout so that I can still get a good workout in.
Now that I am pain-free, my workouts focus on building strength and I am seeing great progress. Sterling is extremely knowledgeable and always prepared with a workout that is tailored specifically for me.
I highly recommend Strength Affect!

On the recommendation of a close friend, I started training with Sterling at Strength Affect in December 2023. After a few months, I’ve already seen progress and most importantly my chronic neck and shoulder pain is finally easing up. Sterling is great to work with. He has a deep understanding of body mechanics and how certain exercises will address specific issues and has a positive way to motivate during strength training. Over the past two years, I had tried several rounds of PT, chiropractors, accupuncture and neuro massage, all with very limited improvement. I finally feel I’m on the right track and would highly recommend Sterling!

I have been training with Strength Affect for 4 months now. The progression from the first on boarding session through each phase of the training program has been an incredible experience. It is clear Sterling is super knowledgeable, but what sets him apart is the way he is able to explain the program/exercises in terms that make sense to me. I feel like I am learning more and more each session while also being pushed in the gym. He is super organized, which has been huge as having a set schedule is important to me. I recommend Strength Affect to anyone looking for one on one training.
