Everytime I go here there never enough 45 pounds weight here .. It so ridiculous that I gotta walk around the whole gym just to look for 45 pounds weights..The water fountain hasn’t been working for over a week so I gotta bring my own water now .. I have a mid tier membership at this gym, and in terms of equipment, they offer nearly everything a regular lifter could want. There are more than enough machines and free weights, though the place stays crowded even during hours when you’d expect a lull. The schedule works for most, but night shift workers might find the timing a bit restrictive.

Parking is reasonable, and the location is convenient. I’ll give credit where it’s due people clean up after themselves, and the overall atmosphere is far better than what I’ve seen in many smaller gyms, especially for the price.

The "spirit airline" of gyms.

Avoid at all costs. I went in for a trial membership (3 days) and the guy who was helping me was all smiles, gave me a tour. This was the guy with grayish curly hair, about 6'4". When we sat down to go over pricing he tried to upsell me on the $20 plan instead of the basic $10 plan. I said I'd only need the $10 plan and we went to the next menu. Saw that there was a checkbox for a $60 yearly price protection plan, which I didn't want since I only needed the gym for 1-2 months. I told him this, then he lied saying it was a requirement (why would there be a checkbox then), and flat out stopped the membership process and said I'd be better off getting day passes. Said I could use the gym for the day, and that was it. Didn't honor the 3 day trial period. HE LITERALLY DID NOT ALLOW ME TO GET A MEMBERSHIP, LMAO. Probably because I didn't agree to any tacked on unecessary fees.

I would give this gym a zero star if I could.

You sign up for a membership TRIAL. You expect to take a membership ID picture or atleast confirm onboarding in the gym in order for the TRIAL to activate. Then once the trial is out the membership begins.

Well VASA likes to skip all that basic general routine! They like to scam you, take your money or charge you money repeatedly for not even walking into their gym not even once!

This place is terrible. Lies and cheats you out of your money.

Yes they are trying to make me pay $300 to not even entering their gym not even once!

I joined because they had a great spin/cycle class at 6am on Tuesday and Thursday. In less than a month they canceled the class. So I went to cancel the membership and they charged me approx $89. Its OK. The cost is reasonable but it is very dirty. Pool is not clean, women's locker room has only 1 changing room. I never see anybody cleaning or wiping machines. They have the machines, sauna, steam room, jacuzzi but it is more of a place where people seem more interested in taking selfie that actually getting healthy and staying healthy. I wish the gym was more clean, especially the pool.

The steam room is inoperable, 1 of the machines is inoperable. Sunday morning 9:45am to 10:25am a man was on the treadmill, having a full conversation on his phone. I had to turn my headphone volume completely up. So inconsiderate and very annoying. He act like this is his personal gym or maybe he owns it. The gym is nice.

I usually don’t leave bad reviews unless I feel compelled to do so for the common good of others. Please re-consider this gym. It’s way too crowded no matter the time- I haven’t even dared to step foot in the gym during the dreaded rush hours because how bad the other “off” hours were. The cancelling process was a nightmare, they do not make it easy and charge you extra money for cancelling as well (even though I’ve been a member over 6 months).

I’ve been a loyal gym-goer for a long time, but my recent experiences at this VASA Fitness have left me completely disheartened. The manager here is honestly one of the most difficult people I’ve ever dealt with in a customer service setting. Instead of helping members or creating a welcoming atmosphere, they come across as cold, dismissive, and unnecessarily harsh.

Every interaction feels like walking on eggshells — there’s zero empathy, and it seems like they take pleasure in making simple situations more stressful than they need to be. I came to this gym to improve my health and find motivation, not to leave every visit feeling frustrated and disrespected.

It’s really sad because the facility itself is great, and most of the staff are kind and hardworking. But leadership sets the tone, and this manager’s attitude poisons what could otherwise be a positive environment. I genuinely hope VASA takes a closer look at who they put in charge — because no member deserves to be treated this way.

I have been going to VASA in Northbrook, IL since March of 2025. Joe Batina is my personal trainer and I could not be more pleased with what he has thought me with focus exercises on muscle groups, consistency and form of routines. Result speakers for itself; I have lost 17lbs of fat and gained 7.5lbs of muscle mass in 6 months for someone who has never done any weight training. This location is new and well equipped, clean and well maintained.

Don’t sign up for Vasa. I been here three times and instantly saw myself not being a long-term member. Of the three machines for leg extensions, one works. It’s like that with every machine for the most part— broken equipment. Top of that, there’s too many people ALL HOURS OF THE DAY. My wife has tried going at 9pm, 10pm, 11am, 9 am, 2pm and says it’s always busy and she’s never getting an enjoyable workout because she’s competing with people for the machines and has to workout fast since there’s a huge line of people waiting to use the machine she’s on. So, broken equipment and too many = disaster. And good luck canceling! They’ll charge you the month, plus cancellation, plus a “return fee”. You’re paying $200 Just to cancel

Came in looking to use a 3 day guest pass that is advertised on their website. I haven’t had a membership here for over 2 years so I thought it wouldn’t be a big deal, as I was interested in getting a membership again. I assumed after a few years the place would be updated but it hasn’t. I was denied the ability to use this guest pass once I came in, even though I was given one online.

Gym itself is alright for the most part. Very busy and machines are out of order for a while sometimes. My biggest complaints are that, one they charge a cancellation fee for cancelling in the first 6 months of your membership and secondly as I’m trying to cancel my membership 8 months in, I have to pay 15 dollars to cancel while entering all my card information that they already have back into the app. This also is not a fee for cancelling right before my payment is due, I am currently paid until October. Be aware of all the nickel and diming they hit you with on the way out.

I’ve been a member since 2023 - and all I can say is I’m highly impressed by so many features at this location.

#1 - Staff: In the past year I have not encountered a single staff member who was rude or un courteous - they are always quick to respond to issues and so kind and polite and friendly. Kaleb is a personal favorite - their sunshiney personality makes you feel so welcome and seen at the gym. ❤️ I also did a personal training consult with Jack - they were very kind, asked me my goals instead of assuming what they were. Made me very comfortable as a woman - kind but not flirtatious and very professional. Taught me some great tips and tricks for the gym and helped me overcome my fear of the “boys area” aka the bench press area. Even if you don’t think you’d book sessions still book a consult - you’ll learn something!

#2 - Cleanliness: I will admit there have been a few areas that I’ve noticed get dirty (the single bathroom by the personal training cage is my number one gripe) however, OVERALL - the gym is very clean. I’ve never come across a grody workout bench or mat that I couldn’t use, the women’s locker rooms are always quite clean and maintained.

#3 - Value/Price: I have a studio membership with kidcare that I think is 100% worth the value. I come 4-6 days a week and use my kidcare for quite a few of them. The staff has always been so kind and great with my son and I’m never worried to leave him there. The access to all the amenities (red light, inbody scans, sauna, steam room, pool, sauna room, showers, all work out areas, all classes and studio red classes) are amazing.

#4 - Traffic etc: A lot of the times I come at the busiest times for them, and I still get a great workout in. Most of the people who go to this gym are quite friendly and courteous. We all just want to get a good workout in and go home - and I think they have done a good job of keeping enough machines in all of the areas. There is always ample space to stretch as well which is great!

Overall I would absolutely recommend this gym and I do to anyone looking to join, if you need a guest pass or want to come check it out feel free to message me! I’m always happy people want to move their bodies and be healthy!

I have decided not to return to this location

due to very subpar air-conditioning in the Group fitness room, (hard to get a good workout in when you can barely breathe)

minimal temperature in the hot tub, filthy bathrooms, and over half of the massage chairs are broken and have been broken for at least four months.

For as much as they charge and how many people go here, I’m sure that they can rectify all of this. They just choose not to, so I exercise my right, not to return!

Been coming here since the very beginning and it’s been on a steady decline. Bathrooms are quite gross, rarely cleaned. Sauna and steam look like they are rarely cleaned as well. On top of the lack of cleanliness the staff just isn’t friendly.There is usually about 5 of them standing around at the front desk cracking jokes. I have been going to the alternate location in Glendale heights instead and it is far superior. Well worth the additional 20 minute drive. I’ve been a paying member at VASA Fitness Villa Park for a while, along with several family members who also joined after my recommendation. I pay for the highest-tier membership that includes guest privileges.

While the first time I brought my mother as a guest went smoothly, today’s experience was very disappointing. My mother is visiting from abroad and does not have a U.S. phone number. The front desk staff refused to allow her entry because they could not send her the guest pass verification code via text, despite the fact that this was not an issue before. The “solution” offered was to use a stranger’s phone number — which felt unprofessional and unnecessary.

My mother and sister were left waiting for over 20 minutes without a clear explanation or alternative, and the staff’s tone came across as indifferent rather than helpful. Unfortunately, this is not the first time I’ve noticed poor customer service here; the team often seems disengaged and not focused on member satisfaction.

Additionally, for a premium membership that includes amenities like massage chairs, it’s disappointing that several of them were out of service for about a month, with only one working despite high member traffic.

VASA could be a great gym if they improved customer service, ensured policies were reasonable for paying members, and maintained their equipment more consistently.

I went in one time as a guest since my fiancee has a guest pass with her membership and I only have a local membership for a different location. The first time I was given zero issues and the front girl was friendly. On July 31st around 9:30 pm we decided to go again and this time we were told I couldn't go in because I was considered a member and not a guest. That is totally understandable as that is their policy I was told. The issue here was the lack of friendliness and empathy for the huge inconvenience of one team member not telling us this wasn't allowed the first time and the second team member being super unfriendly and just said no. I asked for the girl's name who let us in the first time just for the simple reason bringing this up to management and have them inform everyone in their staff to be on the same page. The guy was rude about it and just said " It doesn't matter who told you, you can't come in". The rude employee which I don't know his name was short, curly hair, and asian looking. This employee lacks empathy and friendliness towards customers.

The best thing about this place is the free trial. because now I know I am no longer joining. If I could, I’d give the staff a zero. The only people I can speak positively about are one Zumba instructor and maybe the yoga teacher. The rest constantly give you dirty looks, greet you rudely, and are only friendly when they’re trying to sell you a membership. My husband speaks Spanish, and even though I’ve heard staff members speak Spanish too, they still respond to him rudely…and it shows. The facility is also dirty. I went to the pool just once and there were paper scraps, hair, and general trash everywhere. I won’t even get into the bathrooms (they’re disgustingly filthy. The gym is always overcrowded. I’ve been a member for almost a year, and when I first joined, they promised me an unlimited guest pass, which they later removed without any explanation (yet kept charging the same price). Their cancellation policy is terrible. How can they charge you to cancel a service that’s this bad?
When you file a complaint, all you get is a “sorry” and sometimes they even mock you. I hate this place. I’m only staying because I don’t want to lose money by canceling two memberships. But it’s extremely frustrating to deal with rude staff and awful policies.
Please, if you’re thinking about joining don’t, run. They’ll only be nice when they’re selling you some ridiculous plan. I’ll definitely be looking for another gym soon.

Just look at the other reviews, I wish I had seen them before joining. I’m clearly not the only one who hates this place and its rude staff. Honestly, I wouldn’t be surprised if the few positive reviews were written by their own employees.

Gym overly crowded, the front desk agent was eating at his desk at check-in. Then they tried to tell me that I only had my three day trial pass for one day when online it clearly says three days then he said that’s gonna be a new rule from management as of yesterday so I asked to speak to management and he said he was busy right now without even asking then his coworker asked what was the problem and I told him that he told me only he had my guest pass for one day Around and said it was three days so I’m confused. Are they all making their own rules? I will never go back there. You can’t even go on any machines when I finally get in. I walked right out.

There needs to be a third reverse pec deck machine, an additional set of barbells, more dumbells 15-37.5lbs, more wipe stations/trash cans, more benches in the free weight area, a third smith machine, and additional incline benches. This gym has attracted a lot of younger people, which is great. However there should never be children wrestling in the gym. Large groups of kids congregating playing video games. Sitting on equipment and not using it. There should be an age minimum enforced. I have never seen a gym have so many kids. The bathroom needs frequent checks especially during peak time. There’s always empty soap dispensers, urine on the floor, and there needs to be paper towels. There is one changing room in the women’s bathroom has trash in it all the time. This gym has way more members than before and it will continue but there are some adjustments that need to be made to ensure that those who come to get a lift in can do that and leave.

I Cancelling my membership and feel a bit scammed. After a month and a half I wanted to quit which I was able to do but had to pay a ton in fees. You pay for an extra month when quitting, you pay a $25 cancellation fee and they charge you this ridiculous $50 fee to “lock in rate for the year”.

Pros: Staff is so friendly, I’m always greeted when I walk in! Also, the aqua fit class here is elite. It’s not too packed, the pool is warm and I actually get a real workout in. Compared to the aqua fit classes at LA fitness, where it’s barely a workout and more like just splashing around. In Vasa aqua class I always feel sore the next day so I know it’s actually doing something. Cons: the only con is that if you come around rush hour, parking is hard to find and it’s super packed, but most gyms rush hour is the after work crowd so that’s normal

This gym desperately needs to hire more cleaning staff. The men's lockers are always dirty, the floor is always wet, and the sink are full of water.

Let me start by saying that this gym is a really nice facility. Lots of space, tons of gear and clean. However, the only drawback so far is the sheer number of people who go here. It doesn't matter what time of day the place is FULL. Sometimes, it looks like a high school gym, there are times that they spend their time talking and do not let others occupy the other machines, and they spend their time screaming like crazy, this gym needs to put order, and they need more space, I already have it planned leave that gym

The gym itself is great. Lots of machines , squat racks , huge restrooms. But if you can try to avoid this gym. I see to go at 1030 pm but it’s packed. It’s always packed. I’ve been coming to this gym for a couple of months now. So far. Everything was good until Today, April 25 at 11:40 P.M. this gentleman came up to me in two other individuals that I was working out with and told us to put some weights that we didn’t touch nor used three times on three different machines. I was OK with it. The first time. After that. It became a problem for the guy. Now. The only reason I’m calling him. The guy is because after the third time I had enough, and I Asked why Do I have to do it? If they’re nowhere near me, or if I didn’t use them, and he started escalating the situation, and I asked For his name and once he didn’t identify himself I felt unsafe, and I pulled out my phone. I pressed record, and he kept saying it’s his policy. Not the companies his policy that we have to put all the weights back at the end, which is Unbelievable… I kept asking For his name. He said he wouldn’t give it to me. I politely asked to deescalate the situation and when I said that he proceeded to say you guys are getting kicked out. You guys need to leave around 1143pm The time stamped on my phone. I stopped recording. Grabbed the weights That we weren’t using, and put them away in front of them, then proceeded to escalate the situation again And I proceeded to bring out my phone again and record. He then proceeded to ask for our name, multiple times to file a complaint, I tried I to shake his hand and leave but he completely ignored me and when he said, I had enough He proceeded to walk to the front desk, so I followed him to the front desk, and thankfully, an Understanding worker was at the front desk, which he proceeded to give me his name on arrival by the name of Caleb. Caleb himself. Deescalated the situation. And made us understand that after a machine was used, we had to re rack it that was the policy. The company had. Now, when the other guy wanted to file a complaint, I proceeded to show the videos to Caleb As I was showing the videos to Caleb, the gentleman that wouldn’t identify himself, said he wouldn’t Place a complaint anymore, which, I don’t understand why would you do all that fuzz in the first place to not place a complaint at the end. I get it. It’s the last 20 minutes of your shift, but that doesn’t mean you have to make us put away ALL the weights that are nowhere near the machine we
Are at And that we haven’t used. I did take a clear picture of the gentleman that was being disrespectful towards me and my group, I won’t attach it, out of the respect for the gentleman’s privacy, but just know I have it and a 4+ minute video of him escalating the situation before and after I had put the weights away. I apologized Caleb, this has never happened and the way it was handled by the other gentleman was an embarrassing moment for me. Once again good gym very good hours and machines, staff is amazing, thank you to a staff memeber named Christian really helpful and very knowledgeable about any questions I had at the time we spoke on the phone and got to the gym, but that one bad apple from the tree ruined it all for me. Once again thank you Caleb and I apologize….

This is a great gym if all you want to do is cardio. There are WAY too many people here at all times of the day, absolutely zero parking unless its across the lot, and every machine/weight station usually has 3 to 4 people hovering around it on their phones not actually working out. If you want your workout to take 45 minutes longer than it ever needed to, great place to work out.

I am a member and I've been a member at this location since not long after it opened. I wish I could give it 5 stars, but it's just not possible. The place is a rotating door of employees. It's clearly poorly managed. I'm the time I've been here I've seen 2 managers of the trainers quit. I've worked with 4 trainers that have left sure to poor treatment is employees. I'm on my 5th trainer. I just saw a trainer who's been here since the place first opened that finally quit because he couldn't take the way things are done here anymore. It's horrible. The management may think clients don't realize what's going on and maybe some don't, but I certainly do. I've worked in management and run businesses

I used to go here last year stay away. The machines sauna etc are nice but people were their clothes in the hot tub weights everywhere don't wipe machines down.

But the main reason I stopped coming here was because I had a very big stalker issue
Which causes me fear of it happening at other gyms with the way they handled it

I had a guy following me around the gym for weeks and thought I was another paranoid person but I was not and I quickly found that out after I tested mt theory and every machine I would go to he would go to the one next to me even if he was on arms and I walked in and did glutes he would switch his workouts for that day.
It got to the point he got up when I did and stood in the center of the hallway when he saw me going toward the locker room. I quickly turned around to tell the front desk and all they did was talk to him. Basically a slap on the wrist. Didn't ban him. Didn't kick him out or anything just told him don't do that again like that's going to stop it when he would follow me out in the parking lot etc.
I had to stop coming here for my safety and out a pause on my account which they don't tell you they unpause after so many months. So now I owe 300$ to collections when they knew the reason I paused was over a stalker that they didn't stop and refuse to waive the amount.
DO NOT GO HERE who knows if something happened worse then it did if they even would have done anything then. Don't wait until its too late
FYI this guy also would ask to record me for his channel that I told him no multiple times which even then they didn't do anything to stop him.

Mi esposo y yo cancelamos el plan de 2 menbresias la clausula era pagar una cuota de cancelación por el cobro de 1 mes que nos parecía absurdo pero lo pagamos y según ya no se iba a pagar más nada, llegó la fecha de pago del mes y se cobró como un mes de membresía cuando según la clausula ya estaba cancelada y no cobrarían más, me parece esto una falta de respeto y de ética como empresa no jueguen con el dinero de la gente y tengan seriedad con sus clientes por que de verdad esto es un robo, no recomiendo este gym si quieren perder su dinero.

Bathrooms filthy, hardly a stall that isnt disgusting.

Broken lockers that have been neglected and they are filthy as well

Showers are falling apart

Staff continues to allow blatantly obnoxious behavior. They allow loud, rude, wild behavior from gym members excessively screaming when lifting and blatantly being rude in the dry sauna making patrons uncomfortable.

Weights are scattered all over the place and never put back in place.

Only 1 water fountain works properly. You must walk across the facility to use it.

VASA is overall a mess.

Pros:

Price point is cheap but they are going to run the place into the ground. Going back to my old gym after the minimum 6 months here.

I’ve been going to vasa for over 2 years and I’m not sure if there’s ever been a 1 week period where everything is functioning. Whether it’s the water fountains, the machines, the sauna or steam room, the toilets/showers, it’s almost a guarantee that something’s broken. I’m not sure how hard it is to get a repair man out and get this stuff done but it is beginning to feel like the staff/owner does not care. One of the fountains has been broken for over 2 weeks at this point

I’ve been seeing one of the personal trainers, Matt Leonard, for about 5 weeks and couldn’t recommend him enough. He’s not only helped me lose body fat, but I’ve also gained muscle and confidence throughout the gym. He’s also helped with a sport related injury. I love what VASA has to offer since I mainly take classes. Studio red is my jam. Brandon, Reniece, and Matt are my usual instructors since I typically go in the mornings. They are all great! They make working out as fun as working out can possibly be! I have heard great things about Danny as well! There are instructors i do my best to avoid which works well for my schedule. Their music is typically WAY too loud, they don't do the exercises correctly, luckily my husband was there to make sure I was doing things right. They don't really know how to modify things for people that need it. As of late there are A LOT of pictures being taken which would be great if it was for promoting, but I haven't seen those pictures posted anywhere. After sweating for an hour, my hair being a mess, and hot pink cheeks the last thing I want to do is take a picture. I understand a few pictures a week. As for other classes I've taken yoga with Sheeba is amazing. I haven't been in a while and really miss it. Sheeba is always so kind and very helpful! Matt's kickboxing class is a lot of fun! So glad they added a Sunday class! Brandon is an awesome personal trainer. I look forward to it every week. He keeps me motivated.

Nice gym with a huge variety of things to do. Everyone there is always welcoming. It does get busy in the afternoons/evenings, but you can always go early in the day or sign up for Studio classes so you have a guarateed spot (and it's a great workout) - Coach Brandon is awesome!

This is a good gym, and it has everything you need. From a basketball court, to a swimming pool, than of course the workout machines. I would recommend coming to check it out with your own eyes. I go super early and never had an issue with other fellow gym goers. But my favorite part about this whole facility is the Studio Red room- they offer a bunch of classes. But this one instructor, Reniece, is amazing! Truly makes the experience worth it all. I feel comfortable and confident when I take her classes. She has helped me drive my better self to glow and gave me great health advice that I practice every day now. She definitely cares about your health and wants to express it that no matter where your health journey is at, there's always room for improvements. Thank you for all you do Reniece!

I love this location, Villa Park is one of the more cleaner gym locations. Not only that, John Michael has done such a great job in many aspects!
