OUTSTANDING! I can't emphasize enough how great this place is! You can count on Master Kim, Master Jong, Master Johnson and the rest of the team go above and beyond for your kid. Expect to take TKD seriously going here, they pay close attention to each child and adjust to each individuals needs. They always find a way to make classes fun and productive. There's immediate difference with childs confidence, listening, and physical strength. I was looking forward to having my kid training at this school for a long time but unfortunately had to move. My son Andrew started as a “little tiger” at 5 years old. We thought coming here would be a great way to burn up some of his energy and provide him some structure, discipline and focus. Over a decade later, we’re still here. The little tiger is now a 4th degree blackbelt and a Master at age 15. Master Kim always great with the kids. My kids love going each week and we find this very beneficial for them. They are getting good exercise as well as meeting new friends. As someone who has quite a bit of experience with martial arts schools, I have to say this one is great. My son loves it! They have multiple instructors walking through each class to make sure everyone is catching on and not falling behind. They do in-class corrections on form and it is such a good high-energy environment! I love that they separate classes by belt. This way, you don’t have higher ranks being held back when new student come in and new students are not thrown to the wolves and have a good experience with the right amount of attention so they can grow. A very important thing here - the instructors are patient and willing to work with everyone. 10/10 would recommend.

Absolutely Amazing!!! My son has been going here for almost a year and we truly love it! It is clean, safe, and the staff is truly caring. My son is excited to go every week and he has learned so much.

My daughter loves World Champion Tae Kwon Do! Master Kim and Master G (and all of the other instructors) are great with the kids! They motivate them with positive and constructive feedback and truly care about them on a personal level. I cannot express how wonderful World Champion TKD is. Walking in we were a little nervous because we didn't know what to expect. My four children and I love it!! This place is the best around here... when I started looking for an after school activity for my son I visited at least 3 places ... by far World Champion Tae Kwon Do is the most professional, discipline, friendly etc by far... my son want to come everyday to the class... in a short time I have seen a big improvement and also he is learning very well to channel his energy ... this discipline is body, mind and spirit ...very complete for every kid and also for adults.... all the teachers are excellent and they really care about their classmates... I just went here for a birthday party, the experience was absolutely amazing. It was fun yet structured! All of the instructors are absolutely amazing with the kids (I had a 1.5 year old and 4.5 year old)... They were hands on and got both of my kids involved including myself. Teaching them focus, listening skills and respect!

We were also impressed by the birthday girls slightly older brother who attends this taekwondo location and how respectful and attentive he was. Birthday girl just turned 4 and he must have been either 6 or 7. Amazing.

I enrolled my daughter in world champion, and while I can say that the school provides a nice positive environment for kids, I do think there are some things that prospective students or their parents should be aware of before signing up or even taking the first class.

First the good: Master Kim is a very skilled fighter and a good leader. His assistant Daniel is great with kids and a positive role model. The place is always clean, fun, and safe. They also have a yearly Christmas party which is a lot of fun for the kids. Black belts earned through this school are accredited by the World Taekwondo Federation.

My biggest issue with World Champion was the opacity of the pricing; the costs are not really laid out upfront and increase as time goes on, so I hope to educate any prospective clients as to how pricing works.

My daughter signed up for two classes per week, and it costs about $150 per month. This breaks down to just under $20 per class.

They only accept payment in the form of electronic checks and require you to sign a contract that states that you will give two months notice before canceling the service. Although this practice may be necessary to some extent to encourage long-term commitment, I do believe it is something that customers should know ahead of time before being put on the spot. Also, they sometimes offer a free uniform if you join, but an enrollment fee is assessed with is equal to the value of the uniform.

Belt testing fees are assessed. You can expect to spend about $70 every two-three months, or however long belt advancement takes. The small childrens' program, Little Tigers, however, does not assess belt testing fees.

Finally, there are equipment and uniform costs as time goes on. Students will be expected, by the time they're at orange belt level, to purchase sparring equipment, which IIRC costs about $200-300. The costs seem to ratchet up and you seem to be given no choice but to pay them, or lose the investment in classes made thus far.

As an experienced practitioner of martial arts myself, I was a bit disappointed to find that the curriculum wasn't more inspiring. The kids didn't seem to be learning how to fight or defend themselves (I don't even believe self-defense is a stated goal of this program), it seems like it's gymnastics with a bit of light contact.This is find, if that's what you want for your children. But I would advise anyone against going into this program with the expectation of learning effective fighting techniques.

This Place Is good because the Grand Master is an Olympic Coach so I think he knows what is he knows what he is doing plus not only learning he helps with home behavior so yea if your good you get a Black star plus you can get trophies if you you have 7 black stars! Can't say enough good things about this place. My kids were attending an ATA school for Taekwondo in Plainfield and I felt like I was just paying for their belts, they didn't really have to "earn" it. Not the case here, the kids have to actually do the work, show focus, respect and do the forms properly to earn their belts. The parents also get a say, so if their home behavior is bad, no promotion to move on to their next belt with out parent approval.
