This is the best exercise experience I have had. Each of the teachers has a special ability and together they have kept me moving and gaining flexibility. Jen, the owner, is all about learning how your body works, Cindy helps me stretch, and Sharon works on movement. Most of the time, these are solo classes which means I get full attention and instant correction, really helping me to use my body better. Just can't say enough about the experience here.

After 9 months of various scans, appointments and therapies for lower back pain due to an re-injured and inflamed disc, I felt depressed and hopeless. It appeared that my only option for possible relief was surgical. Hesitant to take such a drastic action, I began searching for alternative approaches for pain relief and discovered “The Body Temple” website which provided expertise and pain relief philosophy that resonated with my own. Although I had no experience with Pilates, there was an immediate sense that this was the path I needed to explore. I emailed the owner, Jen, seeking a conversation about her work. Within a day, she arranged a phone consultation to learn more about my injury and my goals. She was empathetic, listened carefully and gave me time to share my history. Jen shared her experience and explained her approach for rehabilitation and pain relief which begins with the 3-session introductory package.

The decision to purchase the introductory package has truly been life-changing for me. Jen developed a longer-term plan to address the layers of stress and tension carried in my body for years. She carefully explained how these layers were contributing to the back injury as well as to issues which had emerged post-menopause. I felt seen and heard in a way that I had not before. I literally broke down with tears of relief and hope.

The journey to wellness has been hard work, slow and steady work, but I’ve never looked back. Jen and her staff have encouraged, challenged and coached me along the way. Unlike past personal training experiences which have felt like “cookie cutter” routines, Jen and her staff carefully and uniquely design each session with my big picture goals in mind; yet they are flexible to adjust based on what my body needs on a particular day. No two sessions are the identical.

The results continue to be even more than I could have hoped. Not only is the back pain long-since gone, my weak core is becoming stronger, my posture is improved, my mobility is better, my pelvic floor is learning what it means to be “lifted” and my confidence and spirit are lifted as well.

I have also learned two very important life lessons: my body, mind and spirit are worthy of attention and care, and the health and wellness investment I make now will pay dividends as I age. I would encourage anyone considering The Body Temple to invest in yourself with the Introductory package…and let your body tell you what comes next.

I saw a recommendation for Jen and Body Temple on Facebook, and I’m so glad I did! The individualized training has made a world of difference for my strength, flexibility, and endurance. Beyond feeling better (my major goal), I have had a change in physical appearance too, with more muscle definition and tone. I highly recommend this for anyone wanting to get started in Pilates, particularly if previous injury means you too would benefit from a tailored approach.

Body Temple Pilates training has brought me strength and confidence in my body that I had not imagined was possible. I came seeking improvement of strength and balance after a period of inactivity due to during Covid restrictions and healing from a multiple compound leg fracture. I’m 70-ish and had a fear of exercise injury. Jenn was able to diagnose the causes of my crumpled posture and stiffness, and limited range of movement. Her sessions were just the right blend of pushing and encouragement to feel like a got the most from each session. I’ve been thrilled with the improvements in posture and balance, and I look and feel better too.

I was referred to Jen by my mom who had done one on one sessions with other instructors across the country. Jen is competitively priced for the service she offers. It is very apparent that she has a lot of knowledge about the mechanics of the body and knows how to communicate what's going on with your body. For example she instructed me to rotate my leg in to activate my inner thigh and I was shaking from the highlighted weak muscle. I had done this move all my life. But I was not doing it properly. I was finally getting the full benefits of the move! She empowers you to do things at home. Every person should have a Jen in their life. Choosing to invest in your health using Jen's services is the best decision you can make. I am a huge fan and am telling anyone who will listen that they need to meet with Jen!

My experience was excellent in so many ways. I was very intimidated to start exercising again after struggling with chronic illness and pain, but I found myself gaining confidence so quickly, my pain overall decreasing, and I began to really enjoy exercising again!
