I love this spot I’ve been going for about a year now. The routes are interesting and regularly set. There are plenty of difficulty ranges. I am a V2-V4 climber coming back from an injury and while currently only able to send V2s at the highest there are plenty of boulders to occupy my time. The atmosphere is an inviting one most of the people are friendly and will chat/offer advice if you ask. The photos are random sections and sets over time.

I recently moved here and found Climb Lafayette a really really nice place. The setters here care about setting and put lots of efforts into it. For example, I have seen lots of them tweaking a single boulder for hours. Also, they have a moonboard so you never run out of hard problems.

Climbing is such a fun activity for the whole family. It seems like it would be very individual, but it’s so great to hear people at the bottom encouraging you to reach the top and it can be such a good bonding experience for kids and families. We also had my son’s birthday party here and it was a great experience! Everyone had so much fun and the guides were helpful getting the boys clipped in and out and helping run the party safely. One piece of advice I’d give is to have a couple parents stay, if you’re planning to have parents drop off, to help keep an eye on kids as well. This worked out well for everyone and helped to keep everyone safe.

Theres only 117 reviews on here to look at and they are only 5 to 4 star..out of 400 so im wondering if those other 300 were hidden by owner? Anyway, routes are alright, mostly bouldering is the focus. I like that there are training areas but it's cluttered and everything is dusty so its disgusting to use so I didn't and makes me wonder how much they wash the rocks n shared equiment.
Gym was also super hot. Maybe get some giant industrial fans?
Also the lighting could be better for some parts, maybe some ground light to see boulder problems better cause I have issues with sight.

Fantastic place to go for bouldering and top rope climbing.

They have a decent balance of both, but I would say that they are biased towards bouldering.

The bouldering wall is pretty high (maybe 15 ft) - so it's actually kind of scary to jump from the top. The top rope walls are low for top rope, around 30 or 35 feet, so there's nothing scary there.

They change routes frequently on the bouldering, so you'll always have new projects to tackle. They change the top rope routes far less frequently, so you can make those into long term projects.

Rentals are also available for shoes, and you can borrow harnesses if needed.

There's a good sense of community at this gym, as opposed to some of the larger and more sterile places. The setters are very dedicated and creative, and they are willing to give you beta if asked.

this is definitely a small bouldering gym, but you also get all the benefits of going to a small gym: great atmosphere and friendly climbers. Though the space is small, the setters are amazing and set some very creative and fun routes. there is a short top rope section that’s great to run some laps or warm up on (27 ft).

the only complaint is that price is a high for what the gym is (it is similar to large, progressive, new gyms like Northmass, EPIC, and hoosier heights, maybe even a little more expensive). there is no AC, no lead climbing, and other amenities (full gym, showers, yoga). $15 for a day pass and almost $60 for a monthly membership — a comparable gym, climbtime in Indy is only $40 a month with no initiation fee and much more rope climbing. the increase in prices with few changes to the gym, especially the price increase to the student passes ( 60+ within the last couple years), is pushing out students who have been a constant presence at climb lafayette, especially disadvantaged students who’ve long been gatekeeped from the sport of climbing.

it really is a great gym. i love the members and setter. such a shame that the pricing doesn’t reflect that.

Climb Lafayette has been my home gym for the last 5 years and I'm sad to be moving out of the area. It has it's flaws with no AC and it's recent uncompetitive pricing changes, but it more than makes up for it with quality and frequent route setting, friendly environment, and community atmosphere.

This place is a great bouldering gym with a friendly culture and staff overall (every gym has that one obligatory douchebag). Top rope is a little short but there's nothing they can do about the building height. The regulars all know each other and are supportive with cheering each other on. I think the routes are creative and fun challenging climbers on style. You can tell that the setters are passionate. I will say that the temperature control is not great (It's normally about 5° hotter in the gym than it is outside) which becomes an issue in the late summer. There's been a lot of changes to the gym since the new owner took over. Some are positive. Other changes seem rather irrelevant. But do love the gym and the community and I look forward to seeing the growth of the gym and community.

I hosted a kid's birthday party here and it was fantastic. The staff were incredibly helpful in all areas. The orientation to the gym was well-organized and gave the kids maximum climbing time. There is also a nice sized party room--you can bring in your own food and drinks. The party room is also close to the climbing area so you can still see everyone. This place is a blast to go to. The staff are nice and the equipment is of high quality. If you're looking to go bouldering then your in luck because place features a massive bouldering tower that offers a large variety of climbs. It also has several rope climbs which are great. Aside from the actual climbing equipment they have general excercise equipment such as weights, hang boards, a treadmill and yoga services.

Lafayette's only climbing gym! This place is awesome and the staff is super knowledgeable if you have any questions. This is a great alternative in Indiana since outdoor climbing is illegal. The gym offers an island of a bouldering wall, it is huge with a ton of different problems on it. Each time I go back( once to twice a year), I am always amazed by the diversity of climbs they have to offer. If you have no friends they have a few climbs using an autobelay system which is really nice so all you need is a harness and a pair of shoes. Top Roping is all over the back wall, you do need a friend for this part. They have their own GriGri's for use in this section so you don;t even need to bring your own belay device. All n all this gym is great, I know they offer yoga classes as well, haven't been to one, but I've heard they are worth checking out. Climb Lafayette, you rock!
