I really love this place. My daughters are all in the youth climbing club. It has been incredible to see how much they have grown in strength and confidence. Having the same instructors and employees for the last few years has really helped my daughters socially and emotionally. My girls feel extremely welcome and valued while they are here working out, climbing, and having fun. I can't say enough positive things about Epic.

I appreciate many aspects of this gym. I love this place to my core. That said, I was disappointed to learn the GM spray-painted a hold to conceal βBlack Lives Matter [BLM],β which had been there for years, after a single complaint from a police officer who should be able to experience discomfort if they worked in such a controversial and "difficult" job. When the successful competitor to Epic is actively supporting Indy Black Climbers, this choice feels out of step. Along with other concerns (such as employee treatment) the gym would benefit from new leadership and a reset to thrive long-term. I am happy to remove this review if I see improvement to the gym.

I did my first Intro to Top Rope class here, and it was an amazing experience! Becky was incredibly patient and knowledgeable you can tell she really knows what sheβs doing. She made everyone feel comfortable and confident, and we picked things up so quickly thanks to her guidance.
Iβve been bouldering for a while (which is always super fun), but learning top rope here has been one of the best experiences Iβve had at a climbing gym. Canβt wait to keep coming back and improving!

I stoped at this gym on the way to and from a work trip. It was an amazing experience!! The climbing/setting is amazing and the people that visit this gym are even better. I would highly recommend anyone to visit this gym even if youβve never climbed before. They even had several auto belays so you donβt have to go with a partner.
11/10 would recommend!!!!

Let's just say - Susan, Susan, Susan - you made this experience with our granddaughters the absolute best! Everyone there was super nice. Susan got the girls excited and had them all over the place in that gym. Never pushing but encouraging enough to try something harder. Always safety first and I could tell Susan's progression of what they were climbing matched their ability. The girls loved it! Thank you.

My boyfriend and I went to this gym while in town for work. We were met by very friendly staff who showed us around and explained the grading systems for the walls. What really set this gym apart was their employees. A huge shout out to Susan who took an hour of her time to help belay both of us. She provided feedback and advice, while also teaching us about belaying. Not only did we get to try more walls because she helped belay us, but her sense of humor was incredible. Not only did we have an amazing experience because of her, but got some entertainment along with encouragement. Would highly recommend this gym to all climbers, beginners and advanced. Furthermore, would recommend saying hi to Susan, as she was amazing and really made our time at the gym very enjoyable.

I love epic! The routes are amazing! Right now it's like the gym is brand new! So many options to choose from! I love the tall wall routes for endurance training and a good challenge. Epic has the tallest indoor routes in all of Indiana! :) There's plenty of options for everyone ! If you love slab, dynos, lead, top rope, autobelays, boulders they have it all. I love this place it's my home away from home!

I was here because I had to go to the airport to pick someone up, and I found this gym nearby while I was waiting so I decided to come here for a few hours before the plane landed. The staff were super nice and they helped me out a lot with any questions I had. I did not take the test to do belay as I was mainly there for bouldering, but I remembered how to do the figure 8 follow through knot and a staff member belayed me on a wall when they werenβt as busy. They donβt have as many auto belays, but they had plenty to do if you donβt want to mainly rope climb. Everything was laid out nice and I spent hours having fun here and practicing. The grading system was really good and I like that they gather input from climbers on the grade. They also have a good selection of snacks there. Overall, I really want to come back to this gym in the future and I had a great time here. Nice people and gym.

This is my favorite climbing gym. The staff and environment is always very relaxed and super friendly. Their grading is always on point, and they have plenty of top rope and lead routes for first time climbers to advanced. They also have a super fun boulder wall, and auto belays. This is also a great place to bring your kids if they are looking for a new hobby. Highly recommend.

Went for the first time yesterday with my kids and we had a great time. Susan was a huge help. Kids had a lot of fun and I had a great workout and this is coming from somebody with two replaced knees and half. My back is screwed together and I was still able to get up the wall. It's a great workout. I was sucking wind, sweating and loving every second of it. Can't wait to go back and a couple people I did meet. Other climbers were really nice and cool. A great sense of community. I can't wait to go again and meet more people again. It was so much fun!

I've been trying out all of the climbing gyms in the Indianapolis area and this one is my favorite so far! The staff is extremely friendly and hospitable (Hi Susan!!!), there's plenty to do even for low to intermediate level climbers, and the facility is very well maintained and cared for. I really liked the route setting, and the walls were all very easy to read so my friend and I could focus on sending. I'll be back! 5 stars hands down!

I don't venture out to Epic much, but when I do it's a good time. Scot helped me climb hard in their competition by asking his Staff member 'Ethan' to belay me on lead. If he hadn't helped me out I wouldn't have had that opportunity.

Great staff. I was in town for the total eclipse and stopped by to get some climbing in. The staff was super friendly and helpful. Super great place. Iβll definitely head back the next time Iβm in Indianapolis.

Wonderfully high routes and fantastic setting. There are plenty of both top rope and lead routes including lots of overlap. Note that for top rope, there is only a rope provided so you do need to figure-8 yourself in and attach your own belay device. I love this way of tying in but may be different from what climbers have experienced from other gyms.

I can't say enough positive words about this place! First, you are greeted with a smile when you walk in. We came here for an out of the box experience for our family. None of us have climbed before. The staff was SUPER friendly & patient with us. The other climbers that were there were also nice (which speaks volumes to the environment they have created). I recently visited EPIC Climbing and Fitness during a work trip to Indianapolis. The staff were all very helpful and I had a ton of fun climbing. They've got it all--top rope, auto-belays, and bouldering and they even have a couple of speed routes set up on an auto-belay! The routes range from very tall (I'm guessing ~40 ft) to average (maybe ~20-25 ft), to bouldering so there was a lot to keep me busy--and they had auto-belays on both the tall and medium walls so I was able to try everything.
Kayla was awesome--she took some pictures of me climbing so I could send it to my coworkers and she even suggested a super-fun and challenging route and offered to belay me on it. Since I was by myself I took her up on her offer. I've never been to a gym where the staff have offered to belay so I really appreciated that!
I absolutely love the logo and even picked up some merch to take back to my kiddos. My only complaint is that the padding under the bouldering area is thinner/more rigid than what I'm used to back home, but fortunately I didn't fall to much so it was all good. Also, it would be nice if they offered a discounted day pass to folks from out of state who show their home climbing gym membership card.
Overall, I very much enjoyed my visit and would go back if I'm in the Indy area again.

Epic Climbing and Fitness is one of the best climbing gyms I've visited in a long time, and glad to be a new member. From the moment I walked in the door, I was greeted by a friendly staff who made me feel right at home. The atmosphere is great, with plenty of space for climbers of all levels.
One thing that really stood out to me was the quality of the route setting. The routes were challenging, dynamic, and there were plenty of options for climbers of all abilities.
In addition to the great climbing, Epic offers a variety of amenities to its members. There's a weight room, cardio machines, and a yoga studio, so you can work on your overall fitness as well as your climbing skills.
Overall, I would highly recommend Epic to anyone looking for a great climbing gym. The friendly staff, excellent route setting, and variety of amenities make it a top-notch facility. Whether you're a seasoned climber or just starting out, you're sure to find something to love at Epic Climbing and Fitness.

Since my first time there, Epic has treated me and everyone I've seen them interact with as family. They're extremely passionate about the sport and it translates into everything that they do. They offer every new guest a tour of the facility. They have a wonderful 1.5 hour class that allows you to learn to belay and become more proficient in climbing which also includes a 2 week membership. This allows for free admission and rentals, as well as 10% off at their store, and a couple other perks I'm sure I'm forgetting, all for only $40. All of their prices are very reasonable, and they have the biggest facility and most routes I've seen under one roof. Lots of space for lots of climbers. The staff has even offered to belay me when I've gone solo. All around one of, if not THE best gym in the state. Although that statement is subjective, I would highly recommend you come check them out and give them a chance to welcome you into the family. 8/5 stars.

I have been climbing here for 5 years and I still LOVE this place. I highly recommend it for people who have been bouldering and want to head outdoors to climb at Red River Gorge (The Red). I especially noticed that people who have been claiming at North mass Boulder, i've really gained a lot of skills from taking a class at Epic to learn how to climb with ropes (top rope and lead climb) before climbing outside. It's really critical to learn safe rope skills in the gym, before outdoor climbing.
They have a great variety of climbing walls. Good for beginners that want to learn more or experienced climbers. The staff is really friendly and EPIC has an inclusive climbing culture. (For example: Sometimes someone will have a slack rope set up and will invite you to try it, even if they don't know you. Very cool!) The classes are really neat. They've got climbing classes as well as yoga and acrobatics. I still want to try the aerial silks!

I'm new to Indy and felt immediately welcome at this climbing gym. Not only do they have a great variety of top rope routes, which is why I joined, but also 6 autobelays, lead climbing, bouldering, free chair massages, workout classes, member social events, board games, a ping pong table, and a great community.

I've been a member at Epic for three years. As climbing has skyrocketed in popularity, and new gyms emerge, the sport is becoming more mainstream, which is great. I'm a self-proclaimed "chuffer" and will never achieve the climbing achievements of my friends, but I know this much: between the space itself, and the quality of the staff under Scott's leadership and the hard work of his route setters, and more than anything else, THE COMMUNITY, I will always be stoked, safe, and welcome at Epic.
I've dropped in at gyms around the country, and Epic is still my favorite gym. It's been there for me through all sorts of challenges in my life the past few years, and know Epic will be my basecamp in Indy. Simply the best.

The staff is fantastic, and the gym has a very welcoming atmosphere for climbers of all skill levels. There are a ton of routes to choose from, and the route setters work diligently to set new routes frequently enough to not burn out on the same routes. I canβt say enough about how great this climbing gym is!

This place is down right awesome! I have worked at RC gyms before, and the staff here is super chill and will answer any questions you have! The routes are fun and people of any ages can find something to climb! They offer day passes and monthly memberships! We did the day pass and they got me certified to belay right away!

This is now my favorite climbing gym in Indy! Iβve been to Hoosier Heights and Climb Time but this one is the least crowded and modern like HH.
You can get a monthly membership or come on demand (gear rental is available) and they also have yoga classes and strength training sessions.
Itβs a bit of a drive but worth it and the staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. Would recommend!

Awesome place, felt very welcomed by Scott and heβs been really making us feel at home at the gym. Matt and I (M+M) are advanced beginners , meaning we have some skill but a huge learning curve ahead us and Scott has given us several tips and pointers to help us advance our climbing skills. Some of the workers like Piper also are super helpful in getting us acquainted with the place and offering tips as well. Itβs only been a few days but I think we found our second home away from home in Indy π₯°

EPIC isn't my usual climb gym but I do like making the trip over to climb with friends. Staff are very friendly and the sets are a lot of fun. Sorry to see the new 1 star reviews because they are following Marion county rules and some people are salty about having to wear a mask.

Ive been a member here for two years. The staff are great in every way from customer service to routesetting and general climbing knowledge. Your are not a customer to them but family!
Additionally, it pains me to see them suffering for backlash simply for adhering to covid recommendations from the CDC. Unlike a lot of gyms around here they care about your safety and i can not understand how that is a bad thing...

Get in a workout and have a hard time breathing???? No thank you!!! Maybe they don't realize this but for rookies like me who actually have to work hard to climb this just isn't an option.
My wife and I never imagined we'd need to wear a mask at a gym but I guess these gyms don't need our money. Assuming they took the free money the government is handing out since they are the only gym that requires a mask.

I've been climbing at Epic for about 2.5 months. In that time, I've met most of the staff and had multiple amazing conversations with them about climbing, sports, and just general banter. They have been extremely welcoming and supportive of new climbers and have gone out of their way to make me a better climber. I've gotten advice from Keegan, McKenna, and Scott, and Nate and Lloyd have both actually worked with me at length to make me a better climber. I've gone from falling off 5.8 routes to completing 5.10b routes and I credit a lot of that to the staff being so willing to help, watch, and critique me.

Great place. Great people. I'm a new climber and my husband and I went here with some friends today and everything was very straight forward and easy to learn. The monthly membership is pretty pricey. But with the access and exercise you get its completely worth it.

This place is so great that I do not know where to start...it has become a huge part of our routine and we are so happy to have found it. Needless to say, this review is long overdue. A couple of highlights:
-Amazing staff and management who really cares about inclusion and community. Staff makes the gym welcoming and safe for all climbers, particularly those who are new to the sport. In two years, I have never been rubbed the wrong way by a staff member. Management has continued to focus on making climbing available to a wide audience, including monthly adaptive climbing for differently abled individuals. There is even a new monthly "She Sends" group which offers fantastic instruction (really, I'm a bit jealous) to women across a wide range of skills.
-Route setters do an awesome job of keeping the walls fresh, clean, and exciting. Holds are changed out before they become worn down or slick (ew!). New holds are bought every months to keep things fresh. Routes range from 5.6-5.13b and V0-V9 with a healthy mix for all levels (generally concentrated in the 5.10-5.11 intermediate levels). Easily the best roped climbing in the region, with lots of top rope climbing and really great routes for new or experienced lead climbers.
-Management invests in facility maintenance. The place is very clean for a climbing gym. Bathrooms are cleaned daily, unlike certain other gyms that I have been to where they are atrocious.
-Free strength and yoga classes multiple evenings per week. Great instructors who tailor workouts to increase your climbing fitness and decrease injury risk. Full strength training area with cardio, racks, weights, dumbells, hangboards, and everything you need to push to the next level of climbing fitness. For the more advanced, there is also a campus board and a new Tension Board.
-Extremely welcoming and diverse climbing community. The strongest people in the gym regularly help out new climbers to achieve their potential. Never have I felt judged for struggling on routes at or above my skill level. Everyone is approachable and we have made lots of new friends in the gym. Member appreciation events and biannual climbing competitions are fantastic avenues to connect with the broader community.

Beautiful, clean facility, with welcoming staff and community. These people really care about climbing and providing an amazing experience. Their route-setters keep the walls fresh with new and interesting routes of varying difficulties for any level of climber to challenge themself on. Epic is the best climbing gym Iβve seen in the state, and one Iβd highly recommend to check out. Or hey, even snag a membership and join the awesome community of climbers that Epic is home to.

Epic was an incredible place to find and grow in this hobby. They were supportive, encouraging, and constantly made sure everyone was safe. We are moving to San Diego and that is the ONLY reason we left. The environment, other climbers, and staff at Epic are something my wife and I will not forget.
If you're new... Try it! My wife and I were bored on a Sunday and this ended up being our main thing for a year.

I know my wife has already beat me to posting a review, but this place deserves a second one. The facility is the best and biggest in Indy, there's a huge variety to challenge you, and if climbing alone isn't enough for you they offer classes, strength training, yoga, aerial silks, etc. The staff and member base are incredibly friendly, welcoming, and helpful (I've even met and gotten tips from the owner).
And of course, there's Rosie. You'll know who Rosie is the moment you meet her, and you won't forget her name. She has been beyond awesome every time we've seen her.
Highly recommend epic climbing and fitness.

I had NEVER climbed in my life. After 3 kids and a hip replacement I thought I would never be active. This place is exactly what it's name implies... Epic! The building and set up are fantastic and I love that they offer yoga as well, but what really makes this a diamond in the rough are the people. From members to staff everyone is friendly and encouraging. I've never felt judged or embarrassed. I have fallen in love with climbing because of this place. While the staff is wonderful I feel like I have to give Rosie a huge loving shout out. Never in my life have I met someone so willing committed to helping others succeed. She has us laughing everytime we come in and when we leave my whole family ends up saying how much they love her. Buyer beware... You will get totally addicted to Epic climbing and fitness π
