I have been training with Jennie for about two years. She is very professional, patient, and detail oriented. I have been going to Exercise Ince for many years. I just turned 60. Have had 8 joint replacements but you would never know it from my physical abilities. I can still do almost everything I did when I was younger because of taking 20 minutes 1 time a week to stay strong and energetic. My father started going also when he was 91 year old to help with his balance and keep up his strength . Highly recommend not matter what your age to invest in yourself !

I did strength training in a gym or at home on my own for about 45 years. When I first heard about Exercise Inc.’s approach, it seemed almost too good to be true. The idea of only having to spend 20 minutes a week seemed like a shortcut that couldn’t possibly work. But because of the time I was spending on other exercise programs I had taken up after being diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease, I decided to give it a try. I’ve been at it for several years now, and I’m so glad I did. The super slow cadence is much easier on my joints, but still effective at building strength. And my personal coach, Jennie, is fantastic to work with. I highly recommend giving Exercise Inc. a try.

I started with Exercise Inc in Brownsburg in the fall of 2018 at the urging of a friend. The coach I started with was Chris Oliger, and he was fantastic - very personable and really pushed me on each machine. I must say, over these past years I have noticed a great improvement in my health and stamina, I am currently 72. Earlier this year, Chris retired, and I wasn't sure I would continue once he was gone. Chris assured me that I would really like the new coach, Demetrius Bailey. Boy, was he right! In 2017 was diagnosed with breast cancer. I had a bone density scan in early 2022 that revealed bone loss due to cancer treatments. I received a recommendation to try Exercise, Inc. Exercise, Inc. is an important part of my physical and mental health and well-being. Working out once a week in Brownsburg with my amazing trainer Amanda is probably the most productive use of 20 minutes during my whole week. The slow and controlled yet intense lifting is challenging and Amanda encourages me to push myself to my limits. Strength, stamina, and better balance are some of the benefits I’ve achieved from my work outs. These physicals gains have helped me enjoy my other recreational pursuits including cycling, hiking and kayaking. Being able to lift, balance, carry, launch and paddle a 10 foot kayak when one is 5’4” and over 60 would be a greater challenge if not for my training with Amanda. Lastly, kudos to the whole staff at Brownsburg who promote a very friendly and positive environment!

As I was getting older, I started having more issues with my legs and back. I seemed to always be in pain. My neighbor Bo convinced me to try Exercise Inc. Because of COVID I started a program at my home. I first began with Simple 9 and then began strengthening exercises. After a few months I had to have surgery on my leg and I fully attribute my great recovery to all the things I was doing with Exercise Inc. I then started to go to the Brownsburg facility and work with Jeannie. First thing, she is awesome. She pushes me just enough and is always encouraging and caring. Never thought I would say I enjoy going to the “gym” but I do and the benefit is, Im feeling better and getting stronger and am not in pain. Definitely a good feeling. Like many of us looking to improve and maintain health, I have struggled to sustain an exercise program. Running never worked for me - shin splints. Going to the gym never worked for me – I could always find an excuse to skip. Yet, I knew exercise was vital to my quality of life. I hit the big Five Oh a few years ago, and I had to stop – and reverse – my increasing weight and decreasing stamina.
My journey to Exercise Inc was not direct - I don’t listen to WIBC 😊. I had become familiar with the concept of super slow weight training, however. Specifically, I had spent some time listening to podcasts/videos featuring Dr. Doug McGuff, a prominent proponent of super slow weight training. I found the idea of super slow weight training compelling for two reasons. First, real gains in muscle strength can be achieved with just 15 minutes of weightlifting a week. More importantly, weightlifting is aerobic exercise. This was a novel idea to me.
I always thought muscle strength and aerobic strength were mutually exclusive. If you wanted to stimulate red-blood cell and mitochondria growth, you ran. If you wanted to reduce your blood pressure or improve your endurance, you ran. If you wanted to increase muscle mass and strength, you lifted weights (3 or 4 times a week!). For the first time, I was presented with an approach that promised both – and I only needed 20 minutes a week (plus a modest commute).
I was skeptical, of course, but I found plenty of publications to substantiate the claims. So, I had to investigate! Strangely, I couldn’t find any direct reference to super slow weight training in the Indianapolis area via a Google search, but I found a couple of Youtube videos of Dr McGuff training with Exercise Inc staff.
Does it work? It does for me. Its sustainable – I am closing in on the end of my 3rd year with Exercise Inc. I notice the benefits all time. I notice them climbing stairs. I notice them climbing sand dunes in Michigan. I notice them walking around the neighborhood. I notice them hiking in Arizona. I notice them unloading my Costco haul. I notice them unloading bags of mulch. I notice them awkwardly muscling furniture up and down stairs on my daughter’s college move-in day. I don’t take blood pressure medication. I don’t take pain relievers. My doctor doesn’t want to see me next year!
Finally, Exercise Inc facilities and staff are top rate. My trainer, Jennie Emmert, always has a plan ready for me. Appointments promptly begin at the scheduled time. Somehow she gets me to push past the point where I would prefer to quit. Occasionally, she laughs at my jokes. The individualized training at Exercise Inc is an important contributor to my progress and a sustainable exercise program. I urge you to give it a try. Tell them Craig sent you!

I started training with Nic Huffman at the Brownsburg location the first of the year. All the staff are professional and friendly. The facility is clean and well maintained. I have been going Exercise Inc in Brownsburg since 2017 and have been extremely satisfied with the results. Prior to starting, I had struggled with back pain from a spinal fusion and ankle pain from an old fracture. The strength I have gained from these 20 min workouts has eliminated these nagging aches and pains. I’m so much stronger and my balance has significantly improved. All the trainers in Brownsburg are great motivators and will push you to meet your goals. This has been the only formal exercise program that I have stuck with and I’m so happy with the results. Many of you are asking: "how can exercising once a week for 20 minutes per session be effective?'. I thought the same thing, bit I also thought I would try it. I signed up for 12 weeks, then for 6 months, and then 1 year. That was in 2004 - 14 years ago. This program is exactly what their motto promises ' "Private. Personal. Professional.". I have an appointment for my workout, so I have an incentive to train every week. When I enter the training room, I am accompanied by a trainer who sets up each machine, specifically sized for me, one step ahead of me. I am also coached on proper form and breathing so that I have no risk of injury and get the maximum result on each machine. There is usually only one other client in the training room with me (on rare occasions there are two), so I have no distractions. As a result of the investment I have made here, I have more energy, more endurance, and greater strength. I can not imagine what my physical appearance would be if I did NOT train there - judging from the appearance of my peers, it would not be good. I plan to remain a client here for a very long time.

Amazing Work Out!! Go in and get out, although a little shaky on the walk out! 20 Minutes and you have a total Work out that you can feel after each set. Seems like an eternity but flies by, Strange but true. Highly recommend Exercise Inc. Chris is a great trainer, although i think he enjoys his job to much!

I have been a client at Exercise Inc. for several years (joined at age 56 and currently age 60) and I am definitely stronger. My old aches & pains are gone; I no longer wake up sore in the morning. I have no reservations in recommending Exercise Inc. You'll love the results but probably won't enjoy the 20 minutes of muscle fatiguing exercises.

I have been running for several years now but was struggling a lot with my running. At 50 I was feeling like I just couldn't get better. I decided to give Exercise Inc a try and am very glad I did! In just a little under 6 months I am stronger and my running has greatly improved! Three weeks ago I achieved a PR in the 5K and I feel so much better after every run! My trainer Amanda is awesome and it is the hardest and best 20 minutes of my week! It's amazing what those 20 minutes a week can do for you!
