Matt’s expertise has allowed me to reach goals I wouldn’t have been able to think possible prior to training with him. I was always active, but after having kids I struggled to make time for my own training due to lack of accountability and fell into negative body image traps. Matt is wonderful at ensuring that you are working your body at the optimal range that is best for you. I have many health conditions and Matt creates workout programs that take those into account, and he can easily change up what we are doing that day to match the amount of energy I have. He really does focus on making people stronger and all around healthier! It also doesn’t hurt that Matt is an amazing individual to work with in general and has great music taste. Highly recommend!

I worked out pretty regularly in group fitness classes before I started coming to Matt for personal training. I just accepted that I had issues with my shoulder & I would never be able to do pushups, or anything similar again. My knees were also starting to both me.
The first time I went to Matt, he spent the entire session evaluating different things & checking range of motion, etc. He explained that if I would just do a few small things, as far as positioning goes, my knee pain would be greatly diminished. It worked! He built my program to focus on building up specific muscles around my scapula & always reminded me to keep it in the proper position. I can honestly say that my shoulder has never felt better! I can do pushups now.
Personal training with Matt has definitely made me more consistent with my workouts. Sometimes, I just don’t feel like going & working out, but I do it because I have standing appointments that I’ve already paid for & I know that I feel so much better.
The best compliment you can give a business is sending your friends and family to them. Now my husband & son also come to Matt.

I highly recommend Matt to anyone! The thought of seeing a trainer at first was intimidating but my mind was put at ease from the first session. I've been training with Matt for over a year now so that tells you something from someone who doesn't have an athletic bone in their body! The workouts are never boring and he does a great job explaining everything.

Matt worked with my daughter who was recovering from an injury. He was thorough and able to see her movements with new perspective. Matt did an excellent job explaining everything before we did it as well as one on one form training. He concentrates a lot on form which helps your body stay strong and prevents injury. Matt is extremely knowledgeable about the way the body works and the posterior chain. This is super beneficial when you want to get stronger and lead a healthier lifestyle in a safe way. Everything we did during our sessions truly helped me in my everyday life! I felt myself pull my shoulders back and have better posture because of the work I was putting in at class. By the end of the 6 week class, I felt stronger in my legs, core, and arms.
Matt is very good about modifications to fit YOU. If you are already an active person, Matt is able to push you to reach your highest potential with correct form.

Coming from years of training experience, being in gyms all over the country over the course of my life, and holding a degree in Sports Med: I can tell you that Matt has a deep well of practical training knowledge, accreditation, and real world results with his clients. In one session, he corrected my erroneous form on kettlebell swings that I THOUGHT I had been doing right for years. He tailors his programs to the individual with their specific goals and needs in mind instead of producing generic one-size-fits-all training programs that anyone can find on the internet. On top of that, he’s a warm, genuine guy who truly cares about his clients improving, progressing, and becoming better versions of themselves.

I asked Matt for some general guidance on stretches and home workout routines specifically geared towards addressing the chronic lower back pain and sciatica I deal with. He built me a routine that complimented my daily work activities as well as some things I enjoy doing myself for exercise. I wasn't looking for a gym membership or a weekly physical trainer, but just someone to explain to me the benefits of certain movements specific to my needs and it was obvious that he works exactly in that manner. He spent a lot of time getting to know my needs and has helped improve my mobility a lot as well as teaching me how to address pain when it flares up with various stretches and movements. I highly recommend him to anyone looking for personalized routines or feedback.

Matt is INCREDIBLE. He makes training fun and realistic. As a teacher, I want to be taught the reasons behind why I'm doing the exercise. Matt explains the why behind the workout and makes me feel confident by correcting my form. I never knew the correct form for kettlebells before Focused Fitness. He's affordable, authentic, and fun to train with.
