I can’t speak to the gym equipment, I can only speak to what I know. From what I saw from the front desk, the gym appeared clean and had top notch equipment.

Came in to check out the gym because I was very interested in it. When inquiring about memberships I asked if they offered a one day pass for purchase to get a feel for the gym before committing to a full membership. Not only do they not offer a day pass for purchase for prospective customers, the person at the front desk did not even allow me to get a tour of the gym. Why would I commit to a membership if I can’t even look at the gym? Very odd business model.

One of my favorite gyms in Indiana. When I first moved back from Texas I lived in Plainfield and they had just opened that location and that was my first taste of a real good quality gym in a while. It’s clean, it’s got the best equipment, and it’s Christian based which is a huge plus. I currently until see the keystone location which isn’t favorite out of the bunch and Southport has a really cool outdoor section. Each location has their own cool little factor about them.

The gym itself is excellent — clean, plenty of equipment, and a great atmosphere. If I were only rating the workout experience, it would easily be 5 stars. Unfortunately, the cancellation and billing process has been a nightmare.

I first mailed a cancellation letter in June, but when I went in person in July, staff told me it was never received. I was required to pay a late fee and was assured my membership was canceled at that time. I even gave updated payment information to cover the final month they said I owed. Despite this, I received an email in August claiming my account was “past due.”

Either the cancellation was never processed correctly or my payment info wasn’t updated properly by staff. I’ve since moved, so I cannot resolve this in person, and now I’m being threatened with more fees.

Great gym, but extremely poor handling of cancellations and billing. Be careful before signing a contract — getting in is easy, but leaving is not.

Small, cramped gym. Scanner tags are constantly having problems so expect to stand outside waiting in the cold. Bathrooms have been shut down numerous times. Overpriced for the value. I switch the Crunch for $10/month.

I've been training for 7yrs and been going to mei for over 1yr. Best gym I've ever been to.

Pros:
- One of the few gyms in the area still offering 24hr access.
- Many advanced pieces of equipment. More being added all the time.
- Always clean.
- Staff always keeps equipment organized. Only time I see stuff lying around is sometimes on the weekend when no one is on staff.
- Equipment is kept in good repair.
- Has a friendly atmosphere. The target clientele is serious lifters, but the ego driven rude kind seem to go elsewhere for some reason. Possibly the Christian theme? Not sure the cause, but it makes for a pleasant, non-intimidating gym experience, especially for newbies.
- Inexpensive
- Well inforced no filming policy keeps TikTokers away. This is a big deal considering the limited space of this facility. Would be tripping over tripods with every step. Also, no one really likes to be filmed and put on social media without their consent.
- If your primary focus is leg gains, you've found your gym. I'd guess maybe half or more of the equipment is lower body focused.
- Lots of cleaning bottles and rags. I like to be able to carry one around with me, rather than having to hunt them down after every exercise like many other gyms.

Cons
- Small space so gets very crowded during peak hours.
- 24hr availability is achieved through an auto lock key card system for non staffed hours. Sometimes the doors just won't unlock.
- Wish space was bigger to allow for more duplicate equipment. There are many amazing pieces, but usually just one of each, so sometimes you have to wait to use what you need even during slower hours.
- Parking sucks, but that's no fault of the gym.
- No dedicated racks for machine plates, so sometimes you have to hunt down what you need.

The service is wonderful, at any time the gym was super organized and clean, it was always innovating with the machines, the staff was super friendly and the common areas very comfortable. It is completely worth it.

My membership was terminated without notice following an incident with a male member at the gym. This individual made me extremely uncomfortable when he encroached on the space I was using for my workout. I was already set up when he took over the bench in my area, preventing me from completing my exercise and forcing me to relocate while there were other benches open. I did not confront him directly. Two other members witnessed the interaction, and one kindly let me use his space after finishing his set.

The three of us briefly discussed the disruptive behavior, which the individual apparently overheard. Later, I had a private conversation with a friend (the wife of one of the members who saw the incident) about this individual’s history of intimidating, harassing, and mistreating others in the gym. I can only assume he reported our conversation to the owner, resulting in my membership being terminated.

The owner’s reputation within the fitness community is already well known—particularly his history of poor treatment toward women, including trainers and staff. It’s no surprise he failed to conduct due diligence in this matter and instead sided with a male member who has a pattern of inappropriate behavior.

I had been a loyal member of MEI for over five years. The owner knows me personally and has spoken to me on multiple occasions, even asking for my input on improving the gym’s poorly designed layout and equipment selection. He also has me posted on the gym’s Instagram page, which I now demand be removed immediately.

To be treated this way—without investigation or fairness—speaks volumes about the owner and the toxic culture he enables. By supporting men who intimidate, harass, and mistreat women, he creates an unsafe and unwelcoming environment. This is not a business I can support in any capacity.

Outside of this incident, the gym has long-standing issues I’ve tolerated solely for its convenient location and 24/7 access:

- The gym’s lack of enforcement of basic cleanliness and etiquette policies has resulted in members frequently neglecting to wipe down machines, rack weights, or respect shared spaces. This creates an unpleasant and unsanitary environment for everyone.
- Poor supervision and accountability allow younger members to bring non-paying friends into the gym late at night. These guests often disrespect the facility, leaving it in disarray and disrupting paying members.
- The equipment is often out of order, with repairs taking weeks (if they happen at all). When equipment is replaced, it’s typically second-hand, and functional multi-use machines are swapped for single-use alternatives.
- The stretching room still contains filthy yoga mats that should have been replaced years ago.
- There is inadequate space between machines, making it difficult and uncomfortable to adjust weights without encroaching on others.

On top of all this, the owner seems more focused on using young women for promotional material, flaunting his vacations, or showcasing extravagant purchases than investing in the gym or its members.

I cannot recommend this gym to anyone. It is poorly managed, poorly maintained, and fosters a toxic environment that prioritizes appearances over substance and safety. I’m relieved to no longer be part of this space.

Worst experience I have ever had with a gym.. the staff is extremely rude, I’ve had to sign up 3 seperate times due to my account being messed with by un trained staff members who have since been fired for reasons I’m sure reflect there incompetence with the process, and or the hiring process/training. My original account was charged $180 dollars then sent to collections. I then proceeded to pay the balance of $180.00 and was told I would need to sign up a new account and would have to pay $45 to start the new account which I did, then before the next billing cycle my membership was terminated with no explination.. now I am being told I can come back in and sign up for now a 3rd time and pay the start up fees yet again for a 3rd time, and when I spoke to a manager about being compensated for the inconvenience she had said “we don’t just hand out free memberships” absolutely the worst customer service you could expect from a gym. I then had asked why the membership was terminated and they gave zero explanation. Gym is a complete rip off and the staff is arrogant and extremely disrespectful. Do not recommend!!!

I was working in Plainfield for 6 months and got a gym membership here. They are impossible to cancel with online and only allow letters for cancelation. I sent a letter and they keep calling saying I need to pay my monthly fee when I had already sent a letter to cancel. I live about 5 hours from this place so there is no way to cancel as if I send another letter it will get "lost" again. Very unfortunate that gyms are notorious for their hellish process to cancel. They wouldn't work with me at all in my situation living so far away to cancel.

Without a doubt the best gym I’ve been to. A massive space, nearly perfectly laid out with every type of equipment you could hope for and some you never knew existed. Additionally it’s on the second floor of a shopping complex with a balcony you can work out on and offers a nice breeze.

You can’t beat this gym! The atmosphere and equipment are amazing. The lighting and outdoor balcony area are major bonuses. Sauna is clean. Morning workouts are awesome because you can watch the sun rise through all the large windows and balcony! It genuinely feels like home with how friendly everyone is! It’s also near a mall and walking trails for post lift walking. Most definitely the best gym around Plainfield and Avon!

I recently joined Mei Fitness Gym and was very excited to start my fitness journey there. As a fitness influencer, filming my workouts is an integral part of my work and how I make my money. Before joining, I had specifically asked if filming was allowed, and I was assured that it was.

However, upon arriving at the gym today, I was disappointed to see that filming was no longer allowed. I understand the need for privacy and respect for others in the gym, and I always make sure that no one is included in my videos without their permission. It's frustrating that the gym has completely eliminated filming, which impacts me and other individuals who make a living through social media and content creation.

In this digital age, it's important to recognize the value and impact of social media and content creation. I am disappointed that I will have to leave Mei Fitness Gym after this month due to their policy change, especially since I was looking forward to my time there.

Overall, while the gym itself is well-equipped and clean, the change in filming policy has left a sour taste in my mouth. I hope that Mei Fitness Gym will consider reevaluating their policy and accommodating individuals like myself who rely on social media and content creation as a source of income.

Mei Fitness in Plainfield is absolutely AMAZING! The gym has some of the best equipment, gym is clean, and everyone is friendly. This gym does not have showers, daycare, or some of the things the other facilities have, but we have access to those.

Thank you Mel for my family and I to go to a gym that we feel is worth the money and an owner that lets us have the best equipment!

Mei fitness locations are one of a kind. You will not find another gym in the area with the equipment and atmosphere these gyms have to offer. I literally 'cheesed' when I walked into the Plainfield location for the first time, felt like a kid in a candy store. My home gym is the Keystone location, but I try to make it to Plainfield at least 4 to 5 times a month because I love the unique equipment both sites have to offer. I can't wait to see it in the summer with the garage style walls open!

I also saw another review where someone mentioned there was no WiFi. There is absolutely free WiFi and a huge, one of a kind sauna.

My caution is don't believe the website...at all. My husband and I signed up for memberships over the internet because of the amenities and hours. It gave us both the flexibility that we needed with our schedule and the amenities that we prefer. The fitness equipment is great. However, there is no wifi, there are no tanning beds, and there is no wet sauna. The most shocking issue is that there are NO SHOWERS. You also will pay the same rate as the members at their other clubs who do have these amenities. Based on members and staff with whom I spoke, there is no intention of adding those items because "the owner can't figure it out." I am not one to write reviews. However, I provided the owner and general manager 24 hours to get back with me and no one bothered to attempt to contact me. I asked for a refund for our memberships considering we had only gone one day, for which we offered to pay. One of my particular favorite pieces of this whole mess is that they have quotes on their walls indicating that they are Christians and follow the philosophies of Jesus Christ. After my experience, I'm not really sure that they understand what that really entails.

The equipment looks great, the location is coo, the fact it's 24 hours is amazing but because there's no showers I decided not to join. I was joining because it's the only gym practically 24 hours, outside of anytime fitness and I was looking to workout before work at 4 but can't go in all smelly. I was so sad when I discovered they didn't have showers. Other than that one thing though the gym looks amazing.

I am beyond anticipating this newest MEI Fitness location! I travel quite a bit for work and having access to the best equipment and gym atmosphere, 24/7 in several locations around the city is AMAZING. I have been a member of this gym going on 7 years now and I'm proud of it. As a woman, I appreciate the culture here; people are here to work and accomplish their goals. I've personally only experienced respectful and kind natured gestures, which cannot necessarily be said about anywhere else I've been. Let's go!

There is no gym quite like Mei Fitness — from the machines/equipment, to the cleanliness, to the quality trainers.

I’ve been with Mei since 2020 and have successfully lost 100lbs and I’m now on my way to my next 100lb weight loss — all thanks to their trainers and incredible facility.

I also suffer from many injuries and I’ve gained strength and ability to do things I was told I’d never do again because there are plenty of machines to achieve what I needed without causing pain.

This gym is great for making a lifestyle change while being in a supportive environment. I recommend it to everyone. I’m now 100% a Mei Fitness Lifer.
