Stephen is amazing! I’m an avid lifter, but needed help with my functional movements due to years of lifting. He helped me engage my shoulder and knees in a healthier way as well as proper form so I stop flaring up old injuries. Highly recommend working with him.

Stephen was the first and best strength coach I’ve ever worked with. When I started, I felt so intimidated by the idea of strength training but needed to make some changes to my lifestyle. Stephen made the entire process simple, helped me stay focused on my goals, taught me how to use equipment safely and develop proper form. I am so grateful to him for the encouraging, thoughtful, and motivating coaching approach. He pushed me beyond what I thought I could do and explained the what/why/how in detail. I really don’t think I would have kept at it without his support. We moved away, but I can’t recommend him highly enough for anyone in NW Indy.

Been seeing Stephen for 2 1/2 years now. Time flies. He's amazing at helping people realize their potential in the gym. He's a great motivator and truly cares about each person's goals and aspirations. I got lucky to find a personal trainer like him and recommend you get your butt in the gym to workout with him too.

I have been working with Stephen for a little over a year, at this point in my wellness journey. The customized one on one, group sessions and bootcamp sessions have stood out above and beyond other experiences I have had working with fitness professionals in the past. Stephen has coached me through injury and dysfunction to lift weights the right way to help me build a solid foundation to carry me through whatever life throws my way. The workouts, challenges and eating plan recommendations have helped me lose 40 pounds. If you are thinking about starting a wellness journey I highly recommend coach Stephen as he is supportive, patient and creative to help you be your best self. The community of individuals I have encountered at the gym in passing or in group classes are supportive and friendly as well.

I started with Stephen about 5 weeks ago and am really pleased. He made sure I started doing the exercises and using the equipment in the correct ways so that I wouldn’t injure myself. He’s very attentive to that and I’m very grateful as I’m gaining strength and improving balance for a big upcoming trip. I look forward to my workouts and Stephen is just fun to talk to and has a great sense of humor. That makes working out fun and encouraging. I highly recommend Stephen and Movement Lab to anyone looking for a professional and personalized workout experience. (the group workouts are also a great way to mix things up!)

I went to Movement Lab with a painfully frozen shoulder and a new osteoporosis diagnosis. Welcome to life at 60 :-) I am not a "gym person" but needed strength training I could do at home without increasing my shoulder issues while I waited for PT to start. I was pleasantly surprised to find that Stephen is trained in addressing injuries so we proceeded to work on shoulder mobility and pain abatement alongside my original goal of getting stronger. Even before starting physical therapy, I had significant improvement in mobility and much less pain in my shoulder...PLUS the confidence and tools to continue therapeutic workouts at home. 7 weeks in I'm still learning to listen to and challenge my body, but well on the way to shoulder recovery and motivated to apply what I know at home. I'm grateful. Stephen is easy going, laid back, knowledgeable, and a great encourager. (Plus, he's a fellow backyard chicken geek which never hurts.) I highly recommend this place!

I worked with Stephen for several months -- and the amount of information I learned, the way my body changed, and the amount of confidence I developed was staggering. Stephen is not some part-time trainer (I've worked with a few in the past) -- he's a true coach -- is incredibly knowledgable and encouraging. And most importantly -- he knows how to get results! You won't be disappointed.

Stephen is the man!! I gave him a big list of goals when we first started working together this year and we’re making huge progress. I appreciate how personalized and well-thought out the plans are, and I’m very grateful for his help. Highly recommend him!

I've been working out with coach Boone for a little over a year and I have had fantastic results. I have never been able to remain as consistent with regular exercise and building strength until working with Steve. He is very encouraging and it is clear he puts a huge effort into helping all his clients achieve their fitness goals. If you're looking for a trainer I would highly recommend coach Stephen Boone. 💪💪

Finding a good trainer isn't always easy. You don't know what your sessions will be like before you dive in. I couldn't have expected how great Stephen would be for me. He's a great motivator, coach, and jokester. He's really skilled at gauging where you are in your fitness journey and adapting the sessions to get the most out of them. I never expected to see this much progress in 6 months. I also never expected to look forward to training sessions the way I do now. Stephen will help and guide you too if you're ready to help yourself.

I have been training with Stephen for several years. I started working out with him to loose weight, which I did loose 90 lbs!!!! But I continue to work out with him to keep my total self-healthy. This long term training is where I have seen him set himself above the rest. Stephen continues to educate himself, not just stick with the same old school of thought- THIS IS HUGE!! He continues to learn and shares that learning with his clients. He has helped me through injury, and little injury that I would normally just cancel my workout, but what I realized is that he can help me work out what is wrong, and make sure that I’m moving my body in the right way to not create work arounds so that I create even more injury.. who would have thought??? Though my journey Stephen has held me accountable to my total health, he asks me about my eating plans, and asks when I don’t follow through talks through my challenges. He truly cares about the big picture in my journey. I came to loose weight, but I unexpectedly stay mostly for my mental health. As a working very busy mom, I didn’t realize all the mental health benefits that strength training would bring. I do this for me and my family. I am the best me when I work out. I’m a better wife, mother and employee as I journey through strength training. Let’s face it, the best thing is when I continue to impress my hubby when we move furniture and we don’t need help..just sayin...

For most of us, myself included, getting into shape and working towards a healthier lifestyle often seems like a daunting task. Having been overweight for most of my life, I often found myself wanting to work towards my fitness goal of losing weight but ultimately always fell short as I typically felt out of place in most of the gyms I went to, saw little progress, and even simply struggled to find the motivation to continue to go on a regular schedule. That all changed when I finally committed to working out with a trainer. Stephen was the perfect fit. Stephen has an uplifting and outgoing personality and continually motivates me to push myself to be my personal best. It no longer feels like I am on the long arduous journey to fitness alone. Stephen has done a wonderful job taking time to focus on helping me build the proper form on a multitude of exercises and lifts which not only helped me see massive improvements to reach new personal records but has also helped to keep me safe and injury free. He personally tailors each workout program specifically to my individual needs such as improving my mobility, flexibility, and conditioning which in turn led to increased gains in my strength training as well. On top of all this, his gym is a more private environment than many of the gyms I tried out in the past which has allowed me to work out without feeling self-conscious of how I looked or whether I was lifting as much as other men my age. Having Stephen as a fitness coach has really helped me get past the setbacks that constantly stopped me from achieving my goals. If you are like me, and find yourself wanting to begin your journey but are unsure of where to start, start by giving Stephen a call.

I began training with Stephen Boone a little over three years ago. Prior to that time, I worked with several other trainers. While working with those people, I found myself frequently frustrated. I did not see consistent results (weight loss, good habits, increased strength and stamina). I felt that other trainers did not challenge me to set goals for myself and workouts were generally not preplanned and consisted of whatever exercises the person thought of on a whim. These frustrations started affecting me on a more personal level. My diet greatly suffered. I had previously gotten to a place where I had been eating well but suddenly found myself eating terribly again. It also impacted my mood. I felt frustrated, sad, and hopeless. I did not feels motivated anymore. I had hit a plateau and did not know how to overcome it. All of that changed when I started working with Stephen.
Stephen challenged me to think about fitness from a more holistic approach. Not just thinking about dieting, but thinking about strength training, establishing new habits, setting goals for myself, and thinking about emotional health and motivation as well. As a psychologist, I recognize how important emotional health and motivation are for one's fitness and health journey. While working with Stephen, I am constantly focused on setting goals for myself and reevaluating what works for me and what does not work for me. I have noticed huge changes for myself. I no longer assess my "fitness" as the weight the scale reflects. I acknowledge the other areas of it. I also feel good about myself when historically that was a challenge. I have overcome the plateau's I personally hit and see constant gains.
Above all of this, the thing that I find the best about working with Stephen is that he gets to know you on a personal level. He listens to you and when you tell him that something does not feel right or you are not up to your normal energy/strength/etc. he makes adjustments. In the past, the trainers I worked with did not do that and just told me to keep going, which often led to injury. I highly recommend Boone Fitness for any fitness level (beginning, intermediate, advanced). You will not be disappointed.

Prior to starting a program with Steve my workouts were the same things I’d been doing for years. There were negligible results and my enthusiasm for keeping up was waning.
Getting started with Steve as a trainer has been a great decision. My core strength, which was terrible, has significantly improved. I’m gaining strength and reducing the potential for injury. It is also keeping me engaged as he continues to build personalized routines that push me to my best fitness in years.

I have suffered with sciatic pain for many years and it has been getting worse. It is especially bad in the morning and getting ready and dressed for the day became misery. I asked Stephen Boone for help. He did a thorough assessment then taught me several simple exercises. Within 2 days my pain was 80% relieved and has remained this way for over a month. I spend about 15 minutes a day on his prescribed exercises and I’m good to go. Dean Smith MD
