Im from a big city in Illinois and used to a different type of planet fitness environment. I wont say this location is bad or anything, its judgement free, its clean, and the employees are nice! My complaints would be.... the area is small and it feels crowded and if you are a new gym goer (like my sister) she wouldnt go in. The machines are not as new as some of the machines in other locations but the ones I used all worked well.

I love that the staff know me by name, and I'm greeted with a smile and a "Hey Brandee! How's it going?" everytime I come in. I really like that the hours are 24-7 a few days a week, so I can jumpstart my day by coming in before I go to work, whether that be by walking on the treadmill or tanning before work. I do wish the tanning beds were more than a level 3 though, but I understand for longevity's sake why they are not. For $24.99 a month, it's a steal to be able to use the gym and the tanning beds. It's also such a huge bonus that, with the Black card, I can go to the Planet Fitness by where I work even though it's in a different city and not my home gym. The only thing that I'd have to say would be less-than-stellar is all of the 3 bdr 2 bath potholes riddled throughout the parking lot (at the Crawfordsville, IN location). It makes maneuvering the parking spaces and even entering and exiting the parking lot an exercise in navigation management and off-roading. The overall experience is a pleasant one, and I really appreciate the staff helping make Planet Fitness a great place to go.

The manager (Nathaniel) here is very rude and un professional. There was an issue with my wife’s reasonable accommodation for a disability. He was very degrading and arrogant when discussing it. He was caught in several lies involving his subordinate employees and treated them like garbage during the ordeal. I am not sure why anyone would hire this manager or want to work with him.

DO NOT JOIN!!! this is not how any of the other pf are. i visit several in fort wayne or indy and the phoenix and vegas ones and non try to shove this many machines together. wayyyyy too many machines in such a tiny space. i travel to different states and use pf in them and this is bu far smallest, most crowded with machines. zero space to work out or even breathe and its pretty empty of people. the massage beds and tanning beds way different, even the tiny locker and weird shower fitting room combo sucks. water is piss stream and little bar stool so idk how im supposed to get dressed and keep bag off the floor!!! at least put a chair, oh wait, too dam small of space for a chair. clearly owner is greedy and just trying to get more sign ups and not thinking about actual work outs. i mean if someone is on machine next to you, their sweat is hitting you.

Good luck canceling your membership. I went in person to cancel my membership when I moved at the end of October and they said it was canceled. I got billed for November so I called and they said I’d either have to show up in person or send a letter then hung up on me. I’m 5 hours away. So I sent a letter. Then they charged me the yearly fee and again for December. I had a 0 month contract and they refuse to cancel my membership so I’ve gotten my bank involved. Horrible business practices

I was told my wife and I would have our membership cancelled and not be rebilled. However, my membership was cancelled and my wife's was not. Again I've been billed for a membership we're not using when told over the phone it would be cancelled. AVOID! Now I have to get my bank involved over a measly $24.99. And I DID talk to the Manager. She wouldn't give me the number to Corporate or to her boss. This place Stinks of poor customer service! My wife will go in today and cancel, AGAIN, but they won't refund my $24.99 that was billed just today!

Currently a horrible location. Men’s restroom has been unavailable for weeks with three port-a-John’s outside. Two of them are currently taped off and unavailable and the other is literally too nasty to use.

Joined on a Friday morning. Came back that evening to tan only to be told that the beds would be removed on Monday due to remodeling. Nothing was mentioned or I would have waited to join. I am very satisfied with the Planet Fitness in Crawfordsville, Indiana. They are in the process of remodeling, but still manage to keep it clean. There are plenty of workout machines, free weights, and I really like the 30 minute express workout area for the times I am in a hurry. The staff is courteous and very helpful. I am rating them 5 out of 5 stars.

Trucker Friendly. No “No Truck” signs and plenty of room for trailers. Staff went above and beyond to make me feel welcomed. Alex the AGM talked to me about their new drinks and was extremely helpful. Alyssa was super attentive and made sure I got right in a tan bed and I don’t think I saw Daniel stop working the whole time I was there.
I will say that I always take ice cold showers so it didn’t bother me but the shower did not heat up even after 5 minutes. Also no changing rooms for the showers. Overall, You guys were great! Thank you.

Today went to cancel the membership and they charged me for another month starting March 17th even though the cancelation I did is on March 11th. Used this place about 3-4 times in the last 3 months and it ended up costing me $79 including their $39 annual fee.

Great atmosphere. All equipment is set up for beginners to pros. For cardio there are several ways to stay focused, either watch one of the severs tvs, use media device for music or chat with a friend if you go or meet. Work out equipment will help you get where YOU want to be. There are free weights here too if that's your preferred method.

Its a good gym to go to if u don't care to be watched the entire time or have no chance of getting on anything other than the treadmill. The hefty beef boys hang on the lifting equipment all day long and all night and if you do get on one they sit and watch you on another equipment until you feel pressured enough to leave. Staff is friendly but can tell dont care about anything but the paycheck. I want to get out and lose weight but as an introvert I'll stay home and try to lose it here I guess. Sad cause i was really looked forward to it. But the crowd makes it no fun.

A few years back I signed up for pf when I new I was done going I informed the front deck they informed me that they canceled it. A couple years later Idecided to return come to find out they didn't cancel because I had to write a letter. They were charging me and now I owe 297 because they didn't cancel like I was told. This is reguarding the reply i just received. I have contacted the club manager always very rude and they do not care. How do they even keep charging you when you tell them not to because you will not be attending any longer but for some reason because the staff clearly wasnt trained properly so now its on me.

I love going to Planet Fitness here in Crawfordsville. I go every day for 2 hours. The staff is so nice and so helpful. I had the best Trainer in Christian Fettig. He taught me so much. I was able to lose 15lbs. And gain a lot of muscle mass. He motivated me to push myself. I still hear him in my ear saying one more rep, or you can do it. I will miss him and his friendly smile but wish him luck on his next adventure.

I tan here and I am pleased with the fact that they keep up on changing the bulbs and keeping them at their strongest, but a couple of the beds I've tanned in are pretty worn, I've only been in three of their beds but there are cracks in two of the beds and one is so warped it dips in the middle of the bed... definitely could use new tanning beds soon!

UPDATE:: As soon as I left this review I received a call from the GM and she told me that they will replace the plastic in the beds immediately... I am impressed with their attentiveness to their customers reviews, I absolutely recommend anyone who enjoys tanning to get a membership at this location and enjoy their tanning here! They truly care about their customers!!

Two stars is the best I can do.. I really hate planet fitness in general... It's the first gym I've ever been too that actually works against you getting "fit" the"judgement free zone" even shames the people trying to actually get fit.. the "lunk alarm" which they can set off if you are grunting(if you aren't grunting a bit you aren't lifting heavy enough) and heaven forbid you drop their weights a little hard because you ACTUALLY worked to failure, wanna bring a water jug? Nope.. can have that you lunk!! It looks like you are working too hard and we don't want to the rest of our Customers that walk on the treadmill mill so they can say they went to the gym, and gossip to be scared by the fact that you are lifting heavy weights, and heaven forbid you stay hydrated without 10trips to the water fountain you're obviously missing oppertunites to socialize!
So skipping the fact that the judgement free zone is impoasibly judgental.. their dumbells only go to 75lbs.. after 1 month I can do 75x12 all day long... My daughter can press 75x12... Most of the equipment is good.. but it's all light duty... Meaning even the heavy weight stacks stop at a measly 250lbs.. so barbells...nope.. they have Smith machines... Smith machines have been proven to be flat dangerous because they force you to move the weight in an unnatural motion.. and of course there is a limited amount of plates which is good because if you tried to lift heavy on these things you would hurt yourself..
Next... NO personal training of ANY kind... Wait what? Ok let's say you don't know a dumbell from a treadmill.. no training for you!! if they decide that the person you came in with is "training you" you can be kicked out.. and you can forget about staff helping.. the staff is basically just warm bodies who clean and keep and eye on the front desk.amd look for scary Lunks.... they are jus warm bodies who barely know what 1/3 of the equipment does, much less what muscle groups a machine uses.. further guaranteeing that the beginners don't actually get fit..
So no. I dont like PF, any PF. It's a barely tolerable "fitness center" because it's NOT a gym... You cannot get strong here, you cannot get fit here. The best you can do a any plane. Fitness is. Be mediocre. And they do what they can to make sure you don't even get mediocre.. yes I still have a membership.. I need their dumbells and lat pulldown untill I finish my home gym.. which will allow lunky things like deadlifts, squats, bench presses, cleans, log press all with actually free non Smith barbells... My advice I you actually want to get fit or strong, do two months here.. it's cheap. And will help you get a base.. then go to a real gym, with real weights.. treadmills dont make you fit.. and they wont make you loose weight.
