(10-22-25). They took out the yearly dues from my bank account on (10-06-25) and they were not due for a few more months. So I will end up getting charged again in a few months. I spoke to Tyler, the manager on 10-06-25 and he said he was going to have the overpayment refunded. Still not refunded as of 10-22-25. This was a 1-star review because of this. It seemed like this situation was going to drag out. But Tyler stepped up and called me today (10-23-25) and assured me that this is now fixed and taken care of. I am going to take his word on this, because I believe him. Tyler does and did have a very good demeanor and attitude through this. Very nice about it, but it was just frustrating to think that I may not have gotten my refund. I now have updated this review to 5-stars.

The front desk person is never actually at the desk to sign you in for the tanning or massage tables. You can wait for 10 plus minutes and they still don’t show up.

The staff during the day are really rude especially the one woman. Then I got a phone call from a male manager (Tyler maybe?) saying that a person accused my son with special needs of stealing his stuff (shampoo and an ugly shirt. My son is far from perfect but he's always giving away his stuff! So I checked his backpack and my son had left his soap stuff at the gym! The manager was extremely rude and unprofessional! To top it off the manager gave the crazy person my personal information! So he was harassing me on social media! Unacceptable! I tried to call corporate but they closed way too early!!!

This specific facility has a great atmosphere, plenty of machines and incredibly helpful and receptive staff. Additionally, there is an openness to the facility that makes it feel well spaced out and not cramped. Overall, it has been a wonderful experience each time.

Great staff, clean gym. The only issue I have (regularly) is equipment repairs and upgrades. When equipment is "out of order" it stays that way for weeks unfortunately. And they could definitely DEFINITELY consider less treadmills and adding some more weight machines. But ultimately a great gym.. they just need to fix stuff sooner and consider cutting down some of the cardio equipment and adding some more weight equipment!!! 😃 🏋️‍♀️ 💪

Gym clean.... Staff is usually friendly. Staff DOES NOT clean tanning beds. You are at the mercy of trusting those who were there before you to clean it & it DOES NOT happen. Everytime i get in i have to waste my prep time to clean (ALWAYS glad I do because I wipe sweat and obviously a light brown fluid reflecting tanning lotion of those there prior to me with no gloves & nowhere to wash my hands prior to applying my lotion & i go prepared with sani wipes in my bag.)

This is the dirtiest planet fitness I’ve EVER been to! The employees hide in the corner on their phones all morning instead of doing anything. The bathrooms and showers are very unkept and filthy. Hello toe fungus!
Sometimes there’s no paper towels or spray in the bottles to clean the machines. The floors are so gross too. Get ready for a germ feast if you go there. Beware!!! Go to the Valparaiso one instead. They’re always sparkling!!!!

Overall, nice.
I do have 2 minor issues,
One being their locker policy where you are allowed to leave a locker unlocked.
The second is that if you are doing the Bed or Chair, staff seem to just forget you are there.

Edit:
As of now, I had to cancel my membership as Planet Fitness was overcharging me up to $60 USD without notifying me. It also is annoying that you cannot cancel your membership online.

Super friendly staff/management & always clean!
A few weeks ago, I had a scary experience of almost passing out from a blood pressure drop. Multiple employees & the manager took my ask for help seriously and even sat with me for nearly a half hour to make sure I was okay to leave on my own afterward.

Jan 2024, I stayed for 2 weeks in Portage.

I live in Iowa and I was there visiting. I

was so impressed with every aspect of this location. It was very well kept it was clean. It was organized there was never any paper towels that weren't in their holder or no spray in the bottles. I love the black card area. It is very comforting and the atmosphere is very relaxing.

The staff was so friendly and helpful and amazing. They all deserve a round of applause.
I was also introduced to a few machines that I had never seen before that I really enjoyed a lot. I can only hope my home gym will update some of their equipment soon. My location could definitely learn a lot from yours.

Overall a decent place, clean and never too busy. HOWEVER, I feel there’s to many cardio machines and not enough weights. There’s always many cardio machines unattended and I feel wasting space where more weights could be placed. Then the showers…..I love to take a shower after working out but the water is always COLD!! I understand some love a cold shower but not all. And when I say cold I mean ice cold to where I’m shivering throughout the entire shower and barely even can withstand to be in there long enough to even get cleaned up. So if you’re planning to shower I hope you can do so quickly.

First let me say I am not against transgender or gays but a male with a barret in their hair was sent in the female locker room where ladies were dressing. This goes too far. We should be able to feel safe and comfortable. Not fair to members just to say trans have rights. What about our rights?

Horrible experience, the club itself is nice but the Management needs to refocus their concerns. They will ban people for their own personal reasons OUTSIDE of planet fitness but will not ban the actual harassers that workout here. Very strange to me that management can and WILL ban users because of their own personal drama but not the creeps that take photos and follow girls outside all the way to their cars. I do hope corporate finds this review and reevaluates their staff. The manager in reference is named Austin Vergis. EDIT. After leaving this review and getting feedback on google review, I have YET to hear back from their review team.

I’d like to start out saying the gym is always impeccable as far as cleanliness goes, the only complaints I have are the customer service aspect most of the employees are very pleasant, the middle age dark haired female employee is anything but pleasant… for this gym being judgment free you can sure catch her judgmental glare anytime you turn around. While I applaud this young man for keeping the gym spotless he is a lawsuit waiting to happen getting underneath members while preforming their sets… overall nice gym employees could just use some sprucing up!

This location has one of the better floor layouts of the PFs I've been to in 5 states. The free weight bench area was very busy, and waiting for a bench to free up took a minute. The younger crowd spends too much time gazing into mobile devices and mirrors. It's also kept clean, from what I could tell and a large locker room with ample locker space and size choice. The staff is pleasant and helpful. Overall, it's a 5 star PF for me.

Amazing place amazing people great work out! Wasn’t sure at first but everyone is welcoming. They have knowledge about fitness in training and healthy eating.
