I've been around amateur boxing for 35 years and have visited a lot of gyms. I also own my own boxing gym. I recently went to Sweatbox to take some young men to compete in a Silver Gloves competition. This gym is special and has some great people helping out. Well ran and organized. I would definitely recommend them and let my own kids train there. Great facility!

Besides boxing, James Porter has a Rock Steady Group for Parkinson's folks. IT IS AWESOME! My husband loved the friendship and camaraderie of the group and I am sure the program enriched his abilities for the 7 years he dealt with Parkinson's

Sweatbox Gym has been a godsend for my oldest, angsty teen. He has learned how to discipline his body and his mind. Coach James and the other coaches are encouraging and teach them life skills as well. My son says it feels like home there. Such an amazing group of people.

Dont even know where to start...... James is an excellent coach. Was my teacher through high school, and unknowingly a mentor to steer me in the right path. I would highly suggest this gym to anyone of any age. More to learn than just how to box aka "fight". Hes definitely strong in the "sweet science." Dont know what that means? This a great boxing gym for people of all ages. My 7 & 9 year old boys love training here. There is also fight training and cardio boxing classes for adults. This a local family run business that also supports the Parkinson's Disease Rock Steady Boxing program.

Such an extraordinary place. Nice facility, nice people, incredible prices. I have two sons enrolled - one is autistic! I can't recommend this place enough. I'm so glad it's in Terre Haute and the kids have a place to punch something other than each other.
