DONT GO TO THIS GYM! DONT SIGN A CONTRACT! DONT GIVE THEM YOUR BANK INFO!This post is in reference to the Merrillville location. I am unsure if the CP location is under the same management. I signed a 2-year contract for which I paid in full and was under the impression that after the 2 year period was up I was free and clear. I received a notice that my account would be debited for an annual fee in January. At this point my 2-year contract was up and I was no longer even living in the area. I contacted the gym and they asked me to send a letter in writing requesting to cancel the auto debit. I did. I then received a second notice in January about the fee I would be charged. I called, they asked for another letter, I sent one only this time it was returned. Why? Because they're no longer at the location I signed up for! I then reached out to their billing company and got he run around. I will likely have to report this to my credit card company as an unauthorized withdrawal because both the management at Universal Fitness and the billing company are inadequate. DONT GO TO THIS GYM! DONT SIGN A CONTRACT! DONT GIVE THEM YOUR BANK INFO!
