My wife has been a member for over 5 years , has developed a community of friends. She has a medical condition that low impact work outs are a must. She has been in a spin class 2 to three times a week. Now without warning the bikes are being taken out and spin will not be an option… this is ridiculous! The number of members that this impacts is large. The communication has been non existent about this. So much helping people achieve their goals and maintaining their health. I know several of her spin class friends are looking for another gym … Appears that corporations don’t really value their customers… too bad …

If I could give 0 stars I would. The worst gym I’ve ever been to! Planet fitness is a better alternative. They charged me a 25.00 “late fee” because my card “decline” the amount but still went through & got paid the same day. I called to figure out if there’s a way we can refund that since the amount was paid the day of & the manager was rude & awful! This is my first month with the gym & I absolutely HATE it. Don’t recommend. The only pro to this gym is the daycare.

I spoke to a manager Shaylee L & told her what happened prior! Not only did she call customer service for me , she was able to refund me as well! Thank you!

VASA Fitness has been an awesome place to work out. The gym is as clean as a commercial gym can be, the equipment is well-maintained, and there’s a great variety whether you’re into lifting, cardio, or classes. The staff is super friendly and always smiling. I also really appreciate the atmosphere—it’s motivating without being intimidating. The amenities like group classes, sauna, and basketball courts are a big plus. The ONLY thing its missing is a cold plunge! How can we get corporate to make that happen!?

My regular gym for a long time. Good quality and variety of machines, plenty of free weight stations if you're there at 4am. I lift, tan, and use the wet and dry saunas regularly. The staff is usually friendly and surprisingly warm so early in the morning.

It's way too crowded any time after 6am to guarantee you'll be able to do what you need to. They often forget to turn on the dry sauna in the morning, and their single tanning booth tends to be down for weeks at a time.

The app that VASA uses is less than great. Luckily, you'll probably only need it to scan your barcode as you check in. You will also be charged a larger fee every year to keep your monthly charge at what you originally agreed to (instead of just grandfathering people in when fees change). If you forget they do that and don't have money, it could be really bad.

I saw another review that reminded me the manager is very rude, and I agree. He also flat-out lied to me about the resolution to my problem. Don't expect any resolutions if you have problems here. It sounds like he's always completely uncooperative. Overall, 3 stars, it's okay.

Overall, the experience has been going downhill fast. The urinals in the men's bathroom are all down and covered in trash bags, making it hard to use the bathroom with only 3 stalls.... alot of the equipment is breaking down faster than it's getting fixed.... the water fountains taste terrible and now only 1 is functional. Why are we paying the prices for these memberships if nothing is getting fixed? Several treadmills are missing cupholders and barely work when using them.. They really need to step their game up, otherwise we are forced to go elsewhere.

We have been members of Vasa for many years. When they opened here they were a top notch gym. Lots of options for working out and very clean. I feel they have let their customers down now. Every time we go now there are broken and torn machines. There is not the equipment available that they had in the past because it doesn’t get fixed in a timely manner. This equipment is either broken or it no longer exists. I can never find any bands or jump ropes anymore.
I’m very disappointed that the administration has not kept this gym up to the standards they had at the beginning

You guys are crooks and dishonest and non transparent with too many hidden fees that appear sporadically, so much so that My bank account is currently restricted for "suspected fraud" because of Vasa sporadic billing practices and i am being threatened with 25 dollars a day because the bill cannot be paid with an account that it's your fault is closed.
So I can't pay other bills and will be financially penalized for that too. The staff member answering call is rude and I'll informed. This place suck. I'm extremely disappointed with you guys. I want to cancel and I want my money returned.

I love the gym but I solely rely on the KidCare because I have my son 24/7. Most of the time I can’t work out the way I want to workout at home. I have been in Ariel's Zumba class for three years now. Her energy and love of fun are what keep me coming back. I love how she makes each person in her class feel seen and cared about.
I also have been working with Grace as a personal trainer and she is phenomenal and knowledgeable in her field. She really makes your workouts personalized and focused on what you are wanting for your body. Also, the workouts feel like they fly by because she has a great sense of humor and makes the workout actually fun. I signed up this month for the middle tier. The staff was very positive and helpful, facilities are clean. It offers Red Light Therapy and Tanning, Steam Room and Sauna room. The warm pool was a plus, I don't like cold ones. The cinema is excellent and calming when I want to run because it's like you are alone and the volume is just right. Only downside is that the facility is so large(a former supermarket) that the water fountains are far away whenever I want to refill but hey - we need the exercise right? :)

I have some complaints or suggestions:

1. Add a complaint/suggestion box;
2. Add large clocks with sweeping second hands. This will allow members to time themselves between sets;
3. The locker rooms look clean, but they never smell clean. The showers need to be cleaned better, they have flys constantly, the shower door handles hardware require maintenance, and the benches are very dirty.
4. Vasa has handicap (HC): accesible doors, lockers, pool access, water aerobics, senior aerobics classes, BUT NOT ONE HC PARKING SPOT!!!

I do believe this is a good gym, but they need to put in the extra effort to make it great!

No change as of 05/16/25. Locker room floors look dirtier.

I've been going here for about 3 months and have really enjoyed the cleanliness, overall culture of the gym, and variety of machines.

Only area of improvement is regarding the ab roller. Some days it's in the personal training area, other days it's in the turf area. Would be worth it to buy another to ensure there is always one for members to use.

We usually enjoy coming here for swimming and working out but today my partner and I wanted to try tanning. Given no directions on how that process works or operating the tanning bed. Told by one staff that my partner could go back with me. My partner came into the room briefly so we could figure out the tanning bed and were griped at by another staff member. Same staff member proceeded to hover over my partner while they waited on me then hovered over me when I was done and my partner went in, which made us both uncomfortable. I asked the staff if there was an issue and she walked away. We understand what the concern may have been but the rudeness and assumption was unprofessional and humiliating. We do enjoy this gym very much but this interaction has made us leery about approaching staff members now. The treatment was embarrassing because of an assumption being made (we’re a same sex couple). Staff member checking us in for tanning was also rude when I wasn’t understanding what was needed (because instructions were very unclear) to sign up for tanning. The gym is incredible but the staff needs better training on how to communicate with members of all diversities.

This place is a joke. They didn't even give me a walk-through when I went in so I could take a look at the place probably because I had my two children with me but again it's supposed to be a family friendly place so the guy hadme fill out. The application for the place and told me that he would not turn it in. He would go ahead and keep my file with a note on it for somebody to reach out to me the next day about the program now mind you nobody called me about the program at all instead of what they did is they went ahead and put it through charged my account $175 without me having any acknowledged to this until it got taken out of my bank. I haven't been able to get my funds back it's been nothing but a runaround and now here we are again. They're still trying to charge me for something. I don't even use or go to and it is bad. Customer service bad service all the way around.

After about 7 months (August 2024 - March 2025), I still give this gym five (5) stars. VASA is still the best gym I've ever had the pleasure of being part of. There are so many amenities that VASA offers. The equipment available is more than enough for a good workout. The massage chairs are still a must if you want to smooth out your sore muscles after an intense workout. I've even been using their Revive area, which has many items available such as energy drinks, protein shakes, water, etc. Still highly recommend. The staff is always friendly. I couldn't ask for a better fitness center.

I love this gym. Awesome environment and great amenities. Never had a gym with massage chairs or red light therapy before, so that's a welcomed addition to my gym membership. Staff is very friendly. Great variety of equipment and plenty of free space for picking a spot to do your own workout.

The only reason for 4/5 stars is that the mens locker room is in serious need of a cleaning. The showers all have black dirt/grime built up on the floors, and its unappealing. I used to own a cleaning business, so my standard is pretty high, but its a cheap and simple solution. Spray a cleaning solution on the floor, wait a few minutes, and then use Mr. Clean Magic Erasers. Wouldn't take more than 5 minutes per shower and it would look wonderfully clean again.

Edit: 11/25/23 I knocked a star off because they have a punching bag that is so settled that you'd brake your foot kicking it. Its not that expensive to buy a new bag and then to actually flip it once a week.

I'm knocking the stars down to 1 star. That punching bag I wrote about a year ago has not been replaced yet and is now on the floor unable to be used or hung. Also, the manager is not a very nice person. Very cold hearted. 50/50 for nice to unfriendly ratio for staff. There's a few really cool staff and then some really rude and lazy staff too.

Also forgot to mention that the way the women dress here is repulsive. Some dress in attire that's more revealing than hookers. I've been to a lot of gyms and there is typically dress codes. No, women shouldn't be wearing clothes that go up their butt cracks. I know our world is weird right now but thats not socially acceptable. And there's olenty of women who agree with me. What happened to being classy?

Moving up to two stars because they did finally get a new punching bag. It is now on the floor, however (lol). I noticed it was hung by only 3/4 of the straps, so i think that needs to be adjusted. The gym has a lot of amenities for the price however it is insanely busy almost all the time. Im glad ppl are getting in and exercising.

I forgot my towel and I came to swim! The gal at the counter was so understanding and pleasant. She loaned me 2 clean wash cloths they use for cleaning which were very absorbent when drying off! Ironically, she came in the shower area and locker room to clean. So I was able to thank her again. And I thoroughly am happy that the showers and locker rooms get cleaned frequently . VASA is a great place to swim laps. The water is warm, the locker rooms floors are clean as well as the shower and dressing rooms. 👍

This location is disturbing, smells like feet, and overall not well kept. So many machines are constantly out of service and sometimes for weeks on end. The bathrooms are never stocked, the sauna is so gross, I used it once and it felt disgusting so I left after a minute, the pool water is also questionable. I used it once and was like nah, I'm good. The place is just nasty and people walk around barefoot after there workout with there sweaty feet on the carpet to stretch, it's nasty. The staff members are super nice but the owner could care less and it shows. I'd look elsewhere if I was you. That location is the worst.

The equipment is the best I've found in town. It is lacking in accessories like sled belt, slings, and enough room and machines during busy hours.

Cleanliness could be improved. They only hit the basics and don't clean the equipment well or often as they arr slick with hand oil usually. Especially the dumbells and kettles.

The sauna and pool could be cleaned better as well, the pool is usually brown and the sauna has a mild stench as well as pools of sweat on the floor.

Some staff are genuinely friendly. Most just say hey because they have to.

The culture is why I left. This gym is like a club. Women's attire is sometimes very exposed and makes me feel uncomfortable. I deleted social media so I would not be exposed to 'soft "corn' but find that here it can be a bit much with the indecency and some individuals preference to choose central areas to display the 'goods'.
If you're into that. Go to Vasa.
I chose a place where it's less of the show and more of working out.
I akso noticed the culture is less friendly unless you're lookin to flirt. Not as many smiles and goodmornings as I'm used to at more family gyms.

Edited Review: They have added multiple bench presses and incline benches. They even added another squat rack. They are constantly updating worn down equipment which is awesome. 1. Smith Machines are extremely clogged up. They are so clogged up that it feels way heavier than it should. One smith machine is clean and the other 2 are very clogged which makes the weight variance between the 3 massive.
2. The first deadlift platform in the "Strong" Area is very beat up and still causes the barbell to move in between reps which leads to unnecessary strain. (It's also very hot in this area)

Original Review:
The staff are great. But man it is just ridiculous that we only have 3 incline benches in the entire gym. I find that my 1-1.5 hour workout can sometimes turn into 2.5 hours if I come at the wrong time purely because I am waiting in queue for benches and machines. Some equipment is pretty worn down as well, one of the leg extension machines is extremely worn down, the deadlift area have damage in the floor which leads to the barbells rocking back and forth when trying to set up which could lead to an injury for inexperienced lifters. One of the stair-machines have been down for I don't know how long which is critical because, at peak times, all of the stair machines are taken yet they have 2 dozen unused treadmills and an entire empty Cycle Cinema. Half of the sanitization/trashcan stations do not have sani-wipes stocked during peak hours. I can't dock the review because I don't want it to affect the staff but I am definitely looking for a gym that is less busy and less worn down.

Never had any issues with this gym except for today. I went to tan and brought my girl with me and they said she couldn’t tan only I could tan so I said okay that’s fine, and I took my girl to the massage chairs so she could wait for me there, and on top of harassing me about me being the only one allowed to tan, the lady then goes and watches my girl in the massage chair making her feel uncomfortable and feeling some type of way. And I’m pretty sure the lady was probably a manager or something but treating people like that is disgusting and we did not enjoy today’s visit because of that. Disappointed

My girlfriend and I were threatened while we were working out by ourselves in front of the staff... the staff had us write a statement on him to remove him... instead some manager named Rebecca who I've never seen revoked both of our memberships along with my best friend for grunting while doing push ups.(corporate gave him 2 months free but he quit because staff was rude to him).I've been at vasa for 3 years with no problems until now... why? You wonder why your indianapolis location just had a shooting? Besides the mold in the pool and bathrooms... I'd rather not be threatened while I exercise.

One of the best gyms I have ever been to. Vasa is the best around the greater Lafayette area. The place is huge inside with plenty of activities and all of the equipment and weights that you could dream of. Pool, hot tub, sauna, steam room, showers, lockers, tanning bed, red light therapy, water massage beds, tables, treats, drinks, child care, a basketball court, and so much more. Vasa=❤️

As a person of color I haven’t felt comfortable. I don’t feel welcome at all. I’m not even greeted when I walk in. The staff stares and watches me from a distance. So does the members of this gym. I guess as a person of color I shouldn’t be able to afford $25 monthly payments. I haven’t received any of the perks such as a consultation etc. it’s a gym. Plain and simple. The staff isn’t very knowledgeable. They all kinda have Anxiety. I wouldn’t recommend this location, if you just wanna get a work out in and leave. Or if you’re a minority

I've only been attending for a week. So far, so good. I like all the amenities offered. If I have a complaint it would be that they need more than one changing room in the locker room. Some people are a bit shy about changing in front of others. Waiting for the only changing room to be available can be frustrating.

I love the movie room. I get so caught up in the movie I end up putting in more time on my workout without even realizing it. I'm a clock watcher so this distraction is great!

I worked with Will as my personal trainer. He really listened to me and designed my workout to my specific goals. He explained everything really well so I understood the exercise and what muscle groups I was working.

I recently joined vasa and I really love coming here I always feel very comfortable and welcome when I walk in I go in every morning and do the Aqua aerobics classes and the instructor is a great lady I love taking her classes and I also meet with my personal trainer once a week I have Jocelyn as my personal trainer and she is fantastic all the staff their are very professional and knowledgeable and always have smiles on their faces makes you feel very welcome I have tried other gyms and none of them have been like this one and that’s why I keep coming back

It's not bad. Missing some equipment I like. If Young women dressed in tight revealing workout clothing bothers you. Then this place might not be for you. It doesn't bother me. I am confused on why it bothers anyone. But it's probably the #1 reason some people don't go to VASA. It's a younger crowd mostly and everyone seems nice. Good price as well.

I love the gym because it does have alot to offer for the membership price. I would like to see more than 1 of each machine because people sit on these machines on their phones or put their bag down next to it and walk away and think this holds the machine. I have a full time job and wsnt to get in and out. I do not want to spend my whole day in here waiting on a machine. Tanning bed could use some more options as well.
