I started seeing Ryan at AEF when I was experiencing pain after bikig. He did a complete physical assessment and recommended specific activation, stretching and strengthening work that I could do to address my specific issues. I was able to continue biking while I worked with Ryan to resolve the problem. Seeing Ryan weekly, he helps me to progress my strength and mobility so that I can continue my active lifestyle and also help me work through other life stuff (injuries, surgery) that happens. He's very personable and is very responsive to my particular needs.I recommend Ryan highly.

I’ve been working out with Ryan for over a year now. He keeps me motivated, personalizes my workouts and is always willing to answer questions. He also taught me some stretches that have helped a lot with chronic shoulder and back pain. He’s a great resource and an all around great guy on top of being a great trainer. Highly recommend!

Ryan has been my trainer for two years having in person sessions once a week. I suffered from hip pain for years. Within a few months of training the pain was gone. He set me up with a fitness app that I use at home which includes videos.
At the beginning of each session, we talk about any aches or pains I might have. If I do, he focuses on giving me relief explaining the cause of the discomfort and how to work muscles to relieve it.
Resistance and strength training helps with everyday life, and I couldn’t be happier with the results I get with my training.

I would strongly recommend Trainer Ryan and Ames Elite Fitness to anyone seriously interested in maintaining and improving their health. I have had Ryan as my trainer for 10 years. I find him friendly, concerned, and professional. As a Specialist in Strength & Condition and a Specialist in Corrective Exercise, I know Ryan chooses the right exercises to keep me going and helping with aches and pains which can change. No matter your age, if you are seriously thinking about taking good care of yourself do consider Ryan at Ames Elite Fitness. The machines and other equipment are first rate, as well as the facility itself.

I’m a 67-year-old male and the fact that I have had Ryan as my trainer for over a decade speaks for itself. He is also my wife’s trainer and she couldn’t be happier.

I’ve always been an active person, but I was plagued with gout for much of my adult life. The muscle pain and cramping after a severe Flareup put Ryan’s skills to the test and he was able to provide relief When there was none to be found.

I’ve had several trainers and Ryan is by far the best at what he does. I tried to add up how many sessions I’ve had with Ryan but it’s twice a week for 11 years and that makes a lot of sessions and I don’t regret any of it. It’s made me enter retirement with a much higher quality of life than I would’ve had otherwise, Dan Doran .

Ryan is extremely knowledgable, helpful, and passionate about getting each of us moving better and thriving in doing what we love. He has helped me to go from not being able to stand or sit without pain to completing an ultramarathon and a 3-week mountain trek. Whatever your current abilities or future goals for your body and life -- Ryan can help you.

I have been Ryan's client for several years. Under his training, my balance has improved, along with regaining strength and endurance.

I can't recommend Ryan highly enough as a personal trainer. I'm new to strength training, but I cycle a lot. Ryan has been great at helping me strengthen all the muscle groups that I use when cycling. He has also been helping me recover from a minor calf injury. I appreciate his knowledge and expertise, and I'm grateful that he is always happy to answer my questions.

I've been working with Ryan for several years and highly recommend you give him a try if you're looking to increase your level of fitness, agility, mobility, or just want to feel healthier, stronger and more energetic. A particular benefit of working with Ryan is that he's an expert in musculoskeletal anatomy and body mechanics and is always seeking out new information, from which he draws to design workouts that address the specific needs of his clients. On multiple occasions his tailored workouts resolved an injury or muscle imbalance that I developed, without any need for further medical intervention. I especially appreciate that training with Ryan has led to an increase in my strength and muscle mass at an age when most women experience a decline in those areas. The option to mix and match one-on-one sessions with small group sessions is an added value and keeps me working out consistently, even when last-minute changes in my schedule occur. Ryan also has a great personality and the fun chats we have during our sessions make the time fly by. Training with Ryan gives me the stamina and energy to continue enjoying a very active lifestyle as I age. Whether you’re an aging boomer, an elite athlete or anything in between, if you’d like to increase your physical and mental strength and well-being I encourage you to schedule an appointment!

I have been a member of Ames Elite Fitness since it's opening earlier this year but also was working with Ryan Lovstad for almost three years prior. We meet from 3-4 pm Monday through Thursday. It has been extremely helpful, not to mention alot of fun to be with Ryan at Ames Elite Fitness. The training center is neat and tidy, well-equipped, and organized. Ryan is very good with communication about schedule changes, when they come up, and punctual( to a fault!.) Since I am 69 now, he knows how to adapt the workouts to whatever aches and pains I may have. ( I was a competition powerlifter for 15 years prior.) I haven't had a single exercise injury since I started working out with him. He knows anatomy and is superb in adapting workouts as needed. I couldn't be more pleased. I would highly recommend Ryan and the Center to anyone. Sincerely, Peter Q. Wolfe, MD

I worked out on my own for many years (mostly weight training), but start started working with trainers about 10 years ago on the advice of one of my friends. I started training with Ryan about 3 years ago (my old trainer left Iowa) and it has been great! My personal goal is fitness and functionality - being able to move easily and confidently in my daily activities. More so than most trainers, Ryan has a very high understanding of movement (biomechanics) and can spot (and correct) the muscle and posture imbalances that lead to discomfort/pain. I would highly recommend Ryan to anyone who is serious about maintaining their physical health for the long term!

I have been working with Ryan for a while now, focusing on functional movement and getting rid of some chronic pain issues. I have to say, it's been a game-changer! Ryan really knows his stuff and has a knack for explaining things in a way that actually makes sense.

He doesn't just throw a bunch of exercise at me. Instead, he takes the time to figure out what my body needs and creates a plan that is super effective. I'v noticed improvements in my movement and things finally feel like they are working properly!

I appreciate how supportive and down-to-earth Ryan is. He is always providing tips and showing encouragement, making the sessions enjoyable and keeping me motivated.

If you're looking for someone who really gets functional movement and knows the human body well, I highly recommend Ryan!

Ryan at Ames Elite Fitness is a fantastic trainer! While I appreciate a number of things about his professionalism, two that I particularly appreciate are 1) he is knowledgeable enough to adjust the session on the fly if a current physical issue needs to be addressed and 2) he explains why we are doing a specific exercise. His approach is what makes a personal trainer valuable. Given the complexity of the interplay between different muscle groups, doing the right exercises with the right form is vital to ensure the best physical outcomes. Ryan excels in guiding clients through this complexity.

I have been working with Ryan on a weekly basis since the summer of 2022 and I have been very impressed with both his professional knowledge and his communication skills. His personalized workout programs are a blast, and the hour seems to go by quickly. Ryan has an amazing ability to dial in on any of my specific aches and pains and recommend customized exercises that make a positive difference. I feel healthier and have more energy since I started the program with Ryan!

I just got started working with Ames Elite Fitness but really appreciate the approach to strength training and corrective exercise. As a runner, I came in with some specific fitness goals, and he has been very willing to customize his approach to my needs. I look forward to continuing to work with Ryan on improving my running performance, preventing injury, and enhancing accountability around strength work.
